Funny story on that second trailer, that wasn't supposed to even include that scene, much less be released to my knowledge. Because that was a choice/mistake on Paramount's part since the higher-ups made it, the director, writers, and producer(s) didn't give Paramount the greenlight. Or so I've heard.
I might be in the minority on this one, but I really like Genesys and the T-3000. For starters it makes sense that Skynet would continue advancing its technology, from the living tissue to the liquid metal, so next would be either genetically modified androids or an upgrade of the T-1000. This movie might not be the best but I still enjoy for what it is. Great job filmcomics guy! Keep it up!
It's also the most original terminator in the films after the original two. Both the TX and Rev9 feel like the writers couldn't think up a new terminator so they just slapped together the 800 and 1000.
I agree. I found Genisys very entertaining. The plot was pretty creative and found a new way to explore the Terminator universe. I was really hoping it would lead to a new trilogy. I would have loved to see how the AI in Genysis was able to take over the world. Emelia Clark is also pretty cute.
I thought the T-3000 was an interesting concept that was undersold by the script of the movie it was in; his abilities were more suited toward infiltration, yet most of his infiltration was off-screen and what screentime he did have was focused on putting him in traditional Terminator combat scenes. I would have liked to see a story that had more focus on him using his convincingly human nature to help establish Skynet instead of just skipping past that stage. That said, I did enjoy the movie despite its flaws.
It’s a cool concept Turing the hero into enemy. The whole concept of the 3000 is executive pretty well when it’s revealed. But they had to reveal it in the trailer.
Its 100 percent a computer image that took 0 effort to create. Grow some fucking standards. Pathetic ass generation. Iv seen video games have better cg.

I love the T-3000. It feels like the natural evolution of the T-1000. Similar infiltration abilities, but without most of the weaknesses of it. And while I wasn't the biggest fan of using John for it, the idea that they can be, or need to be, made from humans is a great idea! The biggest flaw of the older models is that, while Skynet was advanced, it was still an AI trying to make robots act like humans. But converting a human bypasses that perfectly. I wish that they did more with it. I love the T-1000, but I'm sorry. Nanotech is hell of a lot cooler than liquid metal
@@rickrolledbitch1941 wrong. The rev9 was not superior to the T-3000 and the rrason being is that only Grace is able to go toe to toe against it and even beat it in most cases while the T-3000 single handedly defeated a T-800 like nothing and it had only one weakness.

@@Yokai_Yuri You're not wrong. Based on feats and tech, John's T-3000 is vastly superior to the Rev-9, which is only a combination of 800 and 1000 in terms of abilities. Also like how this chicken s hi t didn't even bother tagging you in his reply, because he wanted to stealth comment and didn't want you replying to his incorrect fanboyism and omitted context of the actual fights.
I actually mostly liked Genisys. The only issue with such powerful terminators is how easy it would really be for them to destroy the T800 and their target. They would just have to lose part of their nano machine technology to enter the skull of the enemy and disable them. Of course taking a hyper realistic look at it is not quite as fun.
I disliked it after they traveled to the future in a makeshift time machine from 1980s Radio Shack and the T-800 CPU. It felt forced. Would have prefered if they scrapped the T-3000 bullshit and just left us in 1980s LA with two Terminators, one old and one new, after Sarah Connor while Kyle and Pops protect her. Not only would it have been a fresh idea on the Terminator franchise but also pays homage to the two best Terminator films by James Cameron.

@@dekaw9138 True, but marcus had free will at the end this version of john just became the sauron of skynet, as in sauron was the servant of morgoth this john is the servant of skynet.
What I really wanted to know definitively is whether when transformed was the host still same person with the same consciousness, or were they killed during the process. It seemed like it was implied that there was some form of mental conditioning, as per say - to bend John Connor's ideologies towards that of Skynet, but that he was still somewhat himself. I cannot be 100% certain of this, as that is only ever implied (maybe head canon here, but it's my take-away). I think it's a waste they didn't further explore the entirety of the process.
I know that I probably shouldn't, but I actually liked this movie. However, the big twist that John Connor was a terminator was ruined in the trailer and lessened the impact of that realization.
I love this Terminator model, and the fact that John Connor was destined to become the most dangerous Terminator of all time somehow made it even more interesting.
Always love how informative yet entertaining your videos are, especially this one since I really didnt know much about this terminator......as always excellent job from a long time fan!
Great video. Just a couple of points - a) John’s presence would have affected the timeline, but it was already altered from what we knew by pops and the T-1000 being sent back to 1973. B) There is no indication that this John went through the events of T2. C) The T-800 could only punch through the T-3000 because of his magnetic ‘glove’. Kyle did the same. D) The T-3000 was destroyed in Cyberdyne’s quantum field generator, not a TDD.
There's not much to tell. The T-600 is bulky, stands out, its software is in major need of upgrading, constantly needs calibrating, and is easy to kill. Skynet attempted to hide this flaw by covering the later T-600 models with rubber skin but they were still easy to spot by the human eye, particularly because of their movement. Skynet was actually on the losing side until they started using infiltrators to find hidden bases and destroy them from inside as shown in the first Terminator movie. The T-700 frame was significantly reduced but still suffered the similar issues to the T-600. On top of that, because of the smaller frame, they were more prone to damage. They attempted to experiment with living tissue but their size was still unnatural so they moved on to a stronger, denser alloy while decreasing the size of the frame and thus the T-800 prototype we see in Terminator Salvation was the end result.
Imagine if the plot was John coming back as a T-3000 not as the villain, but as an additional hero in order to fight an even greater Terminator sent back in time. Would have made Genisys more interesting. Of course, that's all null and void because the writers of Genisys didn't have any respect for the source material.
Given what happened to Arnie with the upgrade at the end I was really looking forward to a sequel to this. I must be the only person around that has loved all the Terminator films and I am often left frustrated and angry at the reception they all get after T2. T2 was a rare breed one of those things that only happen every so often just like certain video games that raise the bar and people just want the same level up again in the next film yet its just not possible. T2, Aliens, Predator, Robocop, all suffer from the same with people expecting the next to be just as ground breaking but it just doesn't happen. Be happy that we get sequels be sad that so many people spoil things for the rest of us.
Hey niyat, I'd like to request some stuff -the Helghasts from Killzone -Werewolves, Frankenstein, and Vampires from Van Helsing -Element 115 from Call Of Duty Zombies -the Demons from Doom -Ghost Rider from Marvel Comics -Master Chief from Halo -Spawn from Image Comics -the Mutants, Ghouls, and Evolutionary virus from Fallout -the Headcrabs from Half Life -Jason Voorhees from Friday the 13th -Freddy Kruger from A Nightmare On Elm Street -Leatherface from Texas Chainsaw Massacre -Chucky/Charles Lee Ray from Childs Play
Plot armor. They have a nasty habit of always ignoring the T-800 and going after John/Sarah, while giving the T-800 an opportunity to get the first shot/hit in.
@@linkheroofhyrule9364 The TX actually beat the T-850 but it decided to repair it and infect the T-850 with its software for support to take down John Connor.

Great video. I enjoyed this movie. I don't get why so many people seem to hate it. I would have liked to see the 2 sequels that were supposed to follow this one.
I don't get why people hated the idea of Terminator John. The future is never set. "No fate but what we make for ourselves." They changed the future so John wouldn't become a Terminator.
It's why I liked salvation and was disappointed they weren't continuing it we finally got a full movie in the heart of the war we got to see exactly how rough and gritty it is in the future and I was down to see more like that movie
Every terminator has one amazing story thread that keeps me intrigued (spoilers for Dark Fate BTW): T1: the idea of a war against machines T2: what if there was a good terminator? T3: what if there was a good terminator and they can't stop judgment day? T4: we see the world of the future where Judgment Day happened T5: What if John Connor WAS the Terminator? T6/3: What if a Terminator succeeded in killing John Connor? So many ideas, so many cool themes, but three bad movies.
Interesting to think about, this could’ve been explored as a potential path for peace between the remnants of humanity and skynet had it been perfected
How many people still haven't realized the evolution that Skynet quietly made: That the T-1000 Mimetic Polyalloy had no outer living tissue, proving Skynet solved the riddle of how to send back non-living materials.
Or, and follow me on this one....they kinda forgot about their rules and wanted to make something sound cool and do it....cause ya know the time machine is what killed him.
Do not forget that unless its two organic things, anything exceeding more than one inorganic thing can cause the time machine to become unstable and destroy itself.
In the storyboard for T2 they show that Skynet covered the T-1000 in a organic shell (similar to an Xenomorph egg) and sent it back that way, the shell burnt off during the jump resulting in the T-1000 arriving by itself... They decided not to film this as they were worried they would confuse viewers
The John Connor phase matter virus fusion is a interesting conundrum. Ultimately the phase matter virus has overcome him, but theres still something of him in there coming through. Which lends to his strength of character. Has to be said at least despite the novel approach of the movie.
Had Skynet simply used the machine phase matter as a weapon, using conventional delivery vectors to infect humanity in chemical/biological warfare, it'd have easily won the war - infected human subject would either convert or die, in either case it's 100% lethality.
Tony : hey go to sleep Tony daughter : I love you 3000T T3000: you love me Tony : she said i love you 3000 Time to me T3000: you are terminated tony stark Marvel fans : crying
Aside from the horrific CG helo scenes, that really wasn't that bad of a flick. What I really liked was how the older Schwarzenegger played an older T800, actually humanizing it more than his other offerings.
I love the concept of the T-3000. the problem is that it's been done before in plenty of TV shows, STARGATE SG1/ATLANTIS just off the top of my head. but it started with the T-1000 itself, the first nanomorph that i know of. the more and more i think about it, it seems that T-1000 is composed of nanomachines, especially with the abilities seen in T-Genysis.
Yeah same here. I think the change was too rapid and instead was done over a period of time like months or even a year to complete the transformation that would fix the issue.
Imagine how good this movie would have been had it focused on Matt Smith's Skynet infiltration of the resistance inside the perfect Terminator. They could have left the twist for the end and then had the Machines win the war in the end. Would have been a bonkers subversion and a much better story imo.
I thought there was so much they could do with John being a terminator. Since we see that in Genysis, Dark Fate, and Judgement Day that there was tendency for the terminators to be self aware, I felt that Genysis had killed John far too early, and I believe, there could be a potential, for redemption. I see John as someone who's like Jason Borrne or the guy in Supergirl who became the 2nd Parasite: they were heroes who eventually broke under the pressure of their systems, expected to live up to unrealistic, unattainable aspirations. I would have liked, for John Connor to fall as a hero, officially, and taken over by his wife, Kate Brewster, whom from what little we hear about, may have indeed fell for him for his looks, but she really believed him, and upholded his cause. I rhought Dark Fate had the right idea but it was simply only interested in echoing the myth of John Connor, the female. This could have been the opportunity to give the franchise the opportunity to scale it to the epic blockbuster battlefield esarth that they are obviously pushing the franchise towards.
I felt they also could build on JOhn Connor's vague comment about "I am, more". I'd really like to see, DIsney reboot this and just for fun, do it totally like the Alien franchise. Ridley Scott do the T1, Daniel Viillenue do T2, and David Lynch do T3. Then have someone unknown from MTV films do Terminator vs Replicants. Then do it Alien style. A closed story but with connecting elements. Then over time, James Cameron would watfch these, and think, everybody asks about the crashed alien cyborg, but no one asks why, what they're doiog here.

Wasn't against this kind of Terminator design but it reminded me way too much of Wolverine. In some ways
I assume you're not talking about the Wolverine from Marvel Comics, but if you are, what does the T-3000 have in common with Logan?
@@larrimus4309 definitely the fast healing ability. Like when John was constantly shot or blown up in the film, the healing ability kicks in to repair the damage. Sort of like what happened to Logan in the Wolverine film when he did the sword fight against Shingen and he cut wolverine's face.
Then again, I'm probably looking at this way too deep
@@Megatron_95 I mean I'd say the T-1000 is a bit more similar to Wolverine than the T-3000, considering the regenerative factor looks almost the same on both
@@Megatron_95 in the movies? Cause I think T-2 came out before the X-men movies.
And in the comics the healing process is either skipped, done fast, from panel to panel or even off-screen to give a weird cliffhanger.
It would actually be nice to see wolverine and T3000 fighting
This one or the t1000 would be the only challenge for wolverine
The T-3000 would have been so much cooler if they hadn't spoiled nearly everything about it in the trailer
I mean ever since T2 it is well known to not watch the trailers if you don't want to be spoiled.
Yea I feel the same way with each of these replies!!!
the T-800 model's fleshy skin is synthetic
The burning terminator emerging from the base. That's epic looking.
Damn right
but can't top the original T 800 rising out of the flames in T1

@@TmanTheTdog a few people sitting in front of a computer for a few hours is not what I call effort. MORON!!!
John isnt special. Just because he's a protagonist doesnt mean he should be freed from all harm
I’m excited to see how the new Terminator compares to others. His abilities in the preview looked super interesting.
I saw the movie it was surperior in every way compared to this terminator but looks wise and speed this one is better
@@rickrolledbitch1941 wrong. The rev9 was not superior to the T-3000 and the rrason being is that only Grace is able to go toe to toe against it and even beat it in most cases while the T-3000 single handedly defeated a T-800 like nothing and it had only one weakness.
Omega Storm are you dumb? The rev 9 was beating both the t-800 and grace did you not watch the movie? The only reason the rev 9 lost is due to it having to be killed by having grace sacrifice to kill it otherwise it was going to win and if your dumbass hasn’t noticed the t-300 lost one on one against the the t-800 when he had only one arm with a magnetic fist as his only usage to beat it

@@Yokai_Yuri You're not wrong. Based on feats and tech, John's T-3000 is vastly superior to the Rev-9, which is only a combination of 800 and 1000 in terms of abilities. John is not only faster, but also has superior regen, offenses and phasing.

I'm, at best, a casual Terminator fan. But I thought this and T-Salvation were pretty good. Not great, not by a long shot, but still good.
Now do The Marcus Terminator ☺👍

You never talk about the T600 model that's the most interesting one from the Terminator series I like about
T-600 T-700 and other models like the T-900(CAMERON) ect we need more info on these models.
This movie was so underrated best sequel to T2 ever
Watched for Terminator stuff. Enjoyed for compelling exposition and ideas.
Liked for Arnold's: "...on the *cell-luh-luh* levuhl."

Interesting to think about, this could’ve been explored as a potential path for peace between the remnants of humanity and skynet had it been perfected
Two GoT universe actors were in this movie, kind of cool. Their screen characters are related as well.
How many people still haven't realized the evolution that Skynet quietly made:
That the T-1000 Mimetic Polyalloy had no outer living tissue, proving Skynet solved the riddle of how to send back non-living materials.
Original idea was that T1000 was sent in an organic bag of sorts.
I liked Genesys in form of concept. But, the final execution left me feeling mixed over it.
Wow, you actually made the confusing mess that was Genisys make sense
I Literally Used Your Voice To Hear If My Essay Would Sound Cool
Had Skynet simply used the machine phase matter as a weapon, using conventional delivery vectors to infect humanity in chemical/biological warfare, it'd have easily won the war - infected human subject would either convert or die, in either case it's 100% lethality.

I wouldn’t mind being a T 3000 if the insanity was solved

I think the change was too rapid and instead was done over a period of time like months or even a year to complete the transformation that would fix the issue.

The 11th Doctor VS the T-5000. THAT would make a worthy Terminator movie.
