Nokta makro legend vs minelab equinox in standard settings and modes mixed depth and the truth abut metal detecting and depth test you might see on the internet
For viewers info the Equinox is an 800..
Really good test I'm deffo looking at these 2 machines, on what to get next I've got the simplex at the moment, please on next vid don't eat chewing gum while filming the clacking goes threw me 😂,
😂😂it was mints ever since long covid a cant stop chewing them thanks for watching
I think exactly the same thing about the chewing gum.. Horrible. Grrrr
@@sergiocunha5473 good for you
Great to see uk testers for the legend, starting to make videos, i saw a video were a guy dug up a buckle at 14 inchs with the legend in a walled garden. Im still waiting on my deus 2.
Its not being tested anymore its more.the nda is lifted because this is the machine that is getting shipped so im free to release what i like lol thanks for watching 😁🏴
I just can't see the legend being as good as the nox.
It's hard to surpass the mighty equinox. Thanks for the video.
The truth is mate they are really close like the nox wouldnt hit cartwheel that was shocking i thought its a big chunky coin yet the lehend hit it better but then the nox had the edge on the legend with the 10 inch one penny at the end of the day its us who pay for machines the more we get stuck with a brand the more the manufacture gets the better deal thanks for watching 😁🏴
Unless you’re using a simplex and know how to use it!
It seems to be equally as good.. i like the visual of the nox control box better..
@@daveromano3099 again depends on field conditions etc
@@ThorsTreasure depends on gow much time the user has on the machine.
Interesting head to head comparison. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for coming along and thanks for watching the part two of the video is up now 🏴😁
Thanks for the video, they look about equal on that test.
Beach is next then if it equals about the same there definitly thanks for watching 🏴😁
lol that intro cracks me up, thats how i feel about a few of the detectors
Thats how they trap you friend we are the detectorist the more we argue over machines it just gives the manufaturers the advantage thanks for watching 😁🏴
That was a great test. Thank you
No problem thanks for watching 😁🏴
Great vid..was shocked at the cartwheel test.. 🤷♀️
Its all to do with the way the coil sees the coins then send it back shows you how we the detectorist tho walk miles and miles yet we are missing loads 😁🏴😛
Looks like they are both good and just as good as each other. Both will excel with different objects at the same depth.
Until the beach 😂😂 equinox still smashes it on different beach types thanks for watching
No entendí que hasta en la playa equinox 800
Thanks for the test.I'd love to have a test done on a thinner gold chain, since it's a problem for all appliances.
Good comparison video Thor. I don't have the Legend but I do have a Nox 800 and love it!
So glad I found this channel 👌
Hello thanks whatever your machine you have good luck and thanks for watching 🏴👍
i'm gonna be buying a unit soon. which one would y'all choose and why? the legend? the equinox 800? and i saw somebody talk about the simplex?
Brilliant video! many Thanks from London.
No thank you for watching and what ever machine you use may you find some treasure 👍😁
@@ThorsTreasure Cheers mate, best of luck to you too.
great job mate, good to see
Im dissapointed bro no banter the day lol must not have pissed of the nokta mob with this vid 🤔 😂😂 you know me mate im becoming like you love me or hate me for just being honest 😂😂 thanks for watching 😁🏴😛

:D
I think I’ll save the $200 bucks & buy the Legend. With a few updates I think it will surpass the Nox 800.
Depends in beach well beaches where i live in scotland are also highly minerlised so if it competes with the nox there then yeah you could be right thanks for watching 😁🏴
Buy the minelab. The legend will never be available any time soon. To the real testers anyway. The consumers paying for it.
@@jshan8205 well just aswell im hated lol otherwise you would get bullshit tests not here friend see how any one of us would see it 😁 thanks for watching 😁🏴
@@jshan8205 and its shipped now testing is over we are released from nda or i wouldnt be able to release this lol
@@jshan8205 I thought it was already shipping out to consumers?
Thanks for the video. What I'd really like to see is which had the most accurate target ID? Because of medical issues, I have to rely on good target identification. Tone alone is not enough. I need an accurate target ID and a good tone and would like to know which has the best of both.
On the targets over 6 inches both machines ids were jumpy by a few numbers so its a hard test to out together unless you are on parks or something where depth isnt really required then both machines are about the same im yet to see a machine that gives a great vdi id at depth thanks for watching 🏴😁
@@ThorsTreasure Thanks! 90% of what I recover is 6" or less so having an accurate TID is of value. I have never understood why VDI accuracy seems to be going downhill. My E-trac has more accuracy at 8" and deeper by VDI than tone. Iron will fool most detectors at depth, but the FE (ferrous) VDI on the E-Trac if above 15 means junk, below means dig. I have yet to see any videos that compare detector VDI accuracy.
@@DCDetector sounds like you already got the machine you need friend i would test them but i havent had the chance to use an etrak yet and your right iron will fool most machines at depth i personally think they have better technology but they just give us it bit by bit to there advantage ie manufacturers i miss my tesoro for tones nice and simple but accurate enough to dig with out looking even at depth on small silvers etc thanks for watching 🏴😁
If you wouldn't stop for those signals...I'd love to follow you in the field...
Aye ok smart arse
A very interesting video. Seems like the Nox is not living up to it's reputation. Many thanks.
If they actually fix it to work on the bech it might be on par but with the katest uodates who knows
Nice in ground test Thor. I'm really rooting for the Legend. I hope the iron bias update they're working on makes it a performer in the thick iron.
Hello mate i know the air tests have been done i need to do some in ground testing with the iron or take it to a few of the ruins ive got permission for thanks for watching friend 😁🏴

Try a detech relic striker depth is incredible hit a coin well over 20 inches if you feel like digging that deep every swing lol
Not a chance on this ground get up here ill take you to this test bed guaranteed you wont get near 20 inches 🤣🤣🤣🤣
@@ThorsTreasure relic striker can hit a large object at 4 or 5 feet 20 inch coin is nothing .I own relic striker the depth is far superior to any detector I have ever used .go on you tube there explain it more
My Quest pro hits a 10 inch 1 penny with its 9 inch coil on both frequencies hmm that's on the beach and in my test bed here. So thanks for your vid bud good to see I'll stick to my quest pro for now I guess as it rips through iron no probs :)
Hello friend you need to remember tho this is a true test for any machine the equinox struggled just as well due to the high minerlisation here in this field in these conditions which is why gold mode done better in the conditions thanks for watching 😁🏴
Thanks for the video..did you paint the buttons on the Legend ?
Yeah did reccomend them to change it but they didnt listen just white find tip pen good luck 😁
How did you get the letters white or highlighted on your Legend ? It's much easier to read, I'm 60 and have a Legend comeing, your machine is much better suited for my aging eyes. Thanks for the videos!
Just a marker pen with fine.tip ao much easier when its new thamks for watching 🏴😁
They both struggled a bit, didn't they, Thor?🤔💖
Hello cynthia yeah id say that test they both hit a certain coin better than the other thanks for watching 😁🏴
But I love my nox 800 and 15 inch coil for deep silver s
Keep it you'll know it better
That legend sounds a lot like the equinox lol
How did you get the buttons more visible with the white. Did you use I white pen
Yes i did tried to tell nokta as i was the first to do this before release bit they paid no attention thanks for watching
What did you use to fill in the markings on the keypad?
Pen thanks for watching 😁🏴
That's terrible.. it cannot even pick up clearly a high conductor old penny at 8 inches..
Silver i think you mean and they both struggled thats what surprised me more the nox as i expected it to hit no problem we are all being conned
Interesting that, your evaluations about ground conditions is spot on, my permissions here in County Durham are all scrap yards and riddled with coke from the coal mining days, they're a nightmare to detect on, surprised at the mighty Equinox though, at the end of the day it sells in the States for around 700 quid; which makes it a 700 quid machine, we have to pay 250 quid on top in export duties and taxes which is why I refuse to buy one, happy with my Multi Kruzer and 12 inch coil. Good video though matey...
Hello mate thats the thing tho this ground is clear and its not even been a mine or mined out or a coke field like certain fields ive got permission for that are full of hot roks its just the field the test bed is also clear which im in the middle of editing as some people dont seem to believe me ,at the end of the day every field is different and thats why you cant judge or buy a machine off a depth test but as always mate some people are not going to like the truth look at the equinox struggling too thats a top of the range machine its shocking we are the ones that pay for these machines and walk the miles and miles trying to find the goodies but it just goes to show what have we missed thanks for watching 😁🏴
I have the 13 inch coil on my MMK and it's a beast. Never had a machine as deep as this before. I'm not sure the Legend or the Nox will beat it maxed out in deep mode. :) It would be interesting to see that test.
@@MrBottlecapBill the difference would be what could your mmo do on this ground thats the point of this video is not only internet videos but for general talking ie youve said to me that your mmk goes deep does not mean that we all get the same depth on the land we detect thanks for watching 😁🏴
What did he say?
Looking at getting a nokta metal detector, which is a better detector; the equinox 600, anfibio multi, or the newer legend. Wanting one that done multiple frequency's to make it easier to find gold or silver. My understanding is the anfibio multi, you have to change frequency's manually... lmk opinions. Want an need a good first metal detector that works well. Thanks 4any help
Take Legend. Better build quality then the other two. Legend better in sea and at beach then Equinox. Amfibio struggles with small gold. I have Legend, Equinox 600 and Multi Kruzer (almost the same then Amfibio); Legend best of 3 for gold.
@@petervandenbosch6353 how's equinox with gold? Not going to use for beach. Think the equinox has multi channel for gold also, lil more than anfibio tho. $800 is my cap atm.
@@petervandenbosch6353 can't remember if this is a coin post or not, just opened a roll of penniesnot more than 10 min ago and iv found a 1955 abit worn, but showing doubling on IN GOD WE TRUST and Liberty, specifically the I of liberty looks like a worn B. The date, '55 is fat on top an right side of last 5. Truly think I've found a version of the 1955 ddo... always a rush to find such coins, but a '55.. even if it's a lower ddo version is pretty cool*. 🤞🏻
@@richardw6592 Good but Legend is better with small gold. Last week someone asked me help to find a part of a very thin golden chain. (child chain). It was so thin that my pinpointer could not detect the chain itself, only the lock. I jcould just hear the signal on the Legend but not on the Nox. Nox has one advantage against the Legend, more stable vdi.
@@richardw6592 I"m not familiar with these coins because i'm from Belgium (Europe). So the only coins i find are pre euro coins (Belgian francs) and euro's. I wish we also had so many silver quarters like you have in the States. Finding silver coins her in Belgium is harder then finding silver coins in the States.
That’s not a fair test.
The nox is MUCH deeper in all metal and you had it off.
On the legend you tried it both ways.
Nope we did try it but the results were worse in gold mode for the nox thanks for watching
A lot of iron around 8 inch one penny, once you turned iron on, with the legend.prob why struggle picking the penny up. Saying that I got a 10 inch penny in back garden plenty of iron in the ground , and the simplex pick it up no prob with the sp28. Very hot ground your in there. Did you turn iron on both detectors to find out how much iron was around the item. Great vid , good to see you back in action
No it wasnt mate holes were clear test bed was clear checked on all metal videos there if i need to i will upload the footage as i knew the subject of its not a clear test bed would come up simple fact is thats the ground conditions of this field like i said ill even give you an offer to come try it if you like thanks for watching 😁🏴
@@ThorsTreasure just subbed you pal. I was subbed years back but you stopped doing detecting vids so I showed myself the door 😂
Ps i will redo that bed with the simplex and the vanquish soon that will be interesting and ive got another video and test bed coming of a non hot ground as you say or highly minerilised as i call it coming up, point of this video is more to say that every field is different and thats why in my opinion you shouldnt buy a machine on a depth test you might see on the internet look at the nox too it struggled just as bad on some targets the cartwheel was shocking
@@HistoryRevisiteduk long covid mate 2 years and still struggling with it ,no worries mate im not on youtube for wealth or fame im here because i was sick of getting made out i wasnt finding good stuff and that was somehow my fault lol even tho i know it was just crap permissions

All im seeing is the nox struggling as much as the legend 😊
Glad im not the only one who seen they seemed to match fact is we are the ones paying our hard earned cash for these machines we should be demanding more ! Thanks for watching 😁🏴
@@ThorsTreasure I will probably wait a year to see how they update the machine, but if they are even remotely in the same class I will buy the Nokta because I want to support the new company and I appreciate how responsive they are to customers. Minelab will be forced to compete and the detectorists will benefit.
@@Hoder2k they all need to be forced to compete other wise its us that get robbed of our money thanks for watching 😁🏴
Standard settings on the nox are not deep at all. If you lower the recovery speed to around 3 and push the horseshoe button (all metal) you will smack hard on ALL your targets.
You are clearly selling the legend. You tried several settings to make your legend work as you wanted it to but you never changed the nox out of factory presets.
In my bad soil the nox with factory settings will only reach 4 inches, but using the settings I suggested it will hit 10 inches easily.
See this is where your wrong and when your devotion to a brand of detector effects your judgement i for one couldn't care less what machine you bought and no i don't sell machines and no im not brand loyal to any machine this test was based on standard modes if you paid attention and listened you would hear me saying this then at the end we messed about with both machines ,just because you can hit a depth in your field with your machine does not make the depth the same as in my field fields are all different mineralisation so take the video how you like i could not care less which machine you use thanks for watching 😁👍🏴
Ground balance?🤔
Im thinking im going to get a legend but that deus 2 deems so amazing, maybe should get the deus, ill be looking for deep float copper and copper artifacts, beach on lake superior, hope to find a missing gold ring
really shouldnt even be a vs vid without the 800 thats what they claim equal to big price differnce just saying

So in the past you may have passed on some good targets.

@@slydogy41 yeah i mean it would not stop.me.in the field.ie weak signal it could be easily missed
For the newbie like me it is all confusing. What is the best machine for Gold?
@@slydogy41 if you are in australia id recommend a dedicated gold machine for prospecting maybe check out other youtube channels in your country who gold prospect with metal detectors i pan for gold here in scotland but with all the lead shot or natural lead on the estates its pretty much pointless needle in haystacks scenario so i really cant advise you here but i also know gold machines for gold in your country are alot more expensive than either these machines good luck
Myself and several freinds have had the equinox 800 and hated it , Its cheaply made the coil lugs snap the shaft wobbles the control box leaks and the noise it makes drives you metal , Horrible detector we Al'so have the deus 1 and 2 far better detectors and the deus 2 beats the equinox all round hands down .
Hello sounds like you aint been lucky with machines tho id love a shot on the deus 2 i love the lightness of the original deus especialy now with being ling covid and the legend is a bit heavy but i use a sling these days also and we are yet to see issues with the durability of the legend all tho there has been certain vids that have kicked it about etc or me flinging it in the sea it takes thousands of machines to be getting used for a true test of durability so the future will test how good the legend is thanks for watching 🏴😁
Lol, so you don't like the tones. The shaft is easily replaced with a Detect Ed or Anderson carbon shaft with a lot of money left over. You can buy a coil ear stiffener for the coil ear issue, and if you water hunt that much invest in a true water machine like a Minelab Excal 2 or a Fisher CZ both of which will destroy a D2 in the water because they are dedicated water machines.
@@rivercitymetaldetecting9854 the guys entitled to his own opinions ffs
Sorry for your bad luck, you should have sent it back, I’ve just past 3000hours on my nox, and have zero of the issues you mentioned. It’s also made me 20x the value of the detector back, so I’m hoping To upgrade by viewing these comparison videos, and so far nothing in the similar price range to the nox even comes close, in al conditions, this video the legend does seem similar, but on the beach. Or underwater, the legend struggles.
