I upgraded from my AT Max to The Legend earlier this year and I’ve been really happy/impressed with the performance and Nokta’s continued support via software updates and updating the hardware (coil/arm cuff/upper shaft). Really great machine!
Awesome video mate. I've been researching metal detectors and was about to buy an Equinox 800, when I came across a discussion about it compared to the Nokta. Seemed that the consensus was that the latter edged out the former, in particular they considered the build better. For one thing, apparently the Nox is not quite as waterproof as the Legend, and they also mentioned the discomfort that can occur when swinging it for a long time. Did some hunting around and came across a great deal on the Legend pro-pack, AUD$1,249, free delivery and a bonus Accupoint Pinpointer, AUD$249 value. The best price I could get on the Nox here was AUD$990 pick-up. Considering the fact that I'm getting two coils, as well as a better build quality and higher degree of comfort, an extra AUD$10 is a no brainer in my book. While waiting for it to arrive, I'm watching videos like yours to learn all I can. I'm utterly new to this field. My reason for getting into it is in preparation for a self-funded archeological survey overseas next year. For that I'll be using a two-box detector but I figured using a multi-range detector would be a good way to develop my skills. So, thanks for such an entertaining and insightful video. Learned a lot and appreciate your easy to listen to delivery style. Looking forward to my first hunt next weekend. By the way, was that a scratch I saw on the Legend screen? Something they mentioned on the forum was that its screen seems to have been made of the softest plastic known to man...grin. The advice on the forums is to put on a screen protector before you let it get out the door. Having seen what may will be a scratch on your brand new machine, you can be sure I'll be following that advice. Liked and subscribed. May you drown in buttons and coppers.
I thought I smelled a new Legend in action! Lol. Way to put it though it’s paces Kurt. If you head north this winter I know some pretty handsome dudes that use this machine if you want to jump right in with us…. I mean them. 😉
Hey Kurt Congrats on the Copper and Buttons you found on a place you've hit so hard on. I've been doing that at some spots I hit really hard with the Equinox 700. I've used 4 different Detectors in these areas and the Equinox has found Coins and Relics the others have missed. I do have the Legend. This machine has flustered me even with all the success I've watched with other Detecorist. Watching you I'll give it another chance. Take Care
You are plenty light enough my friend I love that machine it beats my bounty hunters my ace 400 and my old whites it’s taken me twenty years to get these four detectors bought and paid for and will never have a nice machine like you have but at least I get to watch you use them the nice ones like that. I’m old sick and love to watch your videos Thank you brother for playing these videos. I seen that big foot watching you from the bushes he looked scary to me .
I've been watching people metal detect for years here on RUclips and finally purchased my first last fall. It was the Nokta Makro simplex+. Love the sounds, it was easy to figure out with many options, and the price for a completely waterproof machine couldn't be beat. I'm sure that new top of the line detector from Nokta Makro is a dream.
I think this was the most honest review I’ve seen not only about the legend but about a metal detector as a whole. I love my simplex but I have been wanting to upgrade for a while now. I was just sold on the legend because of your video. Thanks for sharing with us.
I have started with the Simplex+ a couple of years ago. A great beginner machine. I bought a used Nox 600 which I have used the small coil on that I had bought used also. My next machine will be a Legend or one of the new Simplex machines. Nokia makes quality machines and accessories.
@@kirkgassman1612 I bought the small coil for the simplex and it made a huge difference for the area’s I hunt in. (Iron infested) I really just want to tryout a multi-frequency to see the difference. Maybe I’ll look for a used machine as well. Happy Hunting!!!
I’m glad to see you with it also. I’ve had mine a year and I have in joyed it just turn it on and go. I really do need to fine tune it myself. Thanks keep it up
Nice vid! I went from the AT Max to the Nokta legend and I’m impressed. First time out I found a barber dime in a spot I’ve hit a lot with the Max. Next time out hit multiple Wheaties, a standing liberty, and a couple war nickels. I look forward to seeing more of your vids using the legend!
The Legend is a Legend! Mason Merc hunts with it and he's 9 years old! If a 9 year old can slam relics with it than so can anyone! Awesome video Kurt! Enjoy that new machine! We look forward to seeing you use it for years to come!
Nice to see you trying different things. Great video as usual. Love my Legend. If you want to borrow a second for another field day, let me know, I’ll let your guys borrow it.
I enjoyed your review on the Nokta Legend!! I won mine in a "Detecting the Heartland" Facebook raffle. First time out I found 4 rings in a baseball field near my home. One was a 14K Opal ring. And the ability to collapse it to 15" is a game changer, as well. It's going to the DTH hunt this Spring of 2024!! Along with my Manticore!! The Legend is the real deal, in my opinion!!
I bought the Nokta Legend because of your video. It's my first ever metal detector. I've been watching y'all for years and I'm finally going to start detecting! Thanks Kurt!
I have been using it for about a week. The pad does light up and there is a setting for that. I told myself that I would try it and then go right back to my old detector but I compared them and I was finding targets that my old detector just was not finding. Like Kurt said the iron signals are soft sounding unless it's really big. I have not dug a nail as of yet.
Great video. I want to upgrade and I believe you convinced me that I could figure the machine out. I hope in the coming videos you will talk about the settings you are using. super job explaining the settings you used on that day. thanks. Looking forward to next Tuesday. .
I've been swinging the Legend for well over a year now..I love it. My go to machine was/is the CTX 3030 for the last 8yrs but it took a toll on my shoulder. Spend some serious time with this machine (Legend), you'll find you'll grab it over your other detectors.
Just to let you know Kurt, if you ever get tired of using the Legend, you can pass it my way! I’m at that point where reading about new detectors and purchasing are on their own little worlds. You know you could start up another RUclips channel reviewing detectors!! Keep up the great video’s!!
Watch your videos every week I've found more nickels in the short time I've owned the legend than I have since I purchased my first Garrett's back in the early 90's and it was the top of the line Garrett's had to offer don't get me wrong i enjoy my Garrett's but absolutely love my legend, glad to see you finally try the legend out, Hoover boys Rock

Very nice debut with the new machine, especially grabbing that Conn copper- once you know it, who knows what you'll find- speaking from experience, there WILL be more finds that you previously missed.
You did good for right out of the box. I got the Legend in May and really like it. Mostly hunted the beach and its great there. I got it because it has a reputation for not leaking in the water. I am getting ready to hit some hunted out spots with it to see if I can breathe some new life in them. Get the waterproof headphones and go overboard. I think you'll like it. Thanks!
great job Kurt nice to see an honest test and opinions on a machine here in England a lot of those who do tests on new machines do not have a clue what they are talking about and even swing the pendulum ,you should do more LOL the problem with that is when detecting it is always best to use a machine that is an extension of your arm so to speak,,best wishes my friend and stay safe ,,,Pat
I grabbed the Simplex dude to lack of hunting time. Spent the difference on stocking up on ammo. Definitely getting a legend before springtime. They for some reason do great here in the shale of the Hudson Valley NY
A realistic test! Thanks.
I'm a Legend user, I love it!!!. Keep using it and it will become your goto machine. Great video, love seeing finds from a " hammered" place.
If you hold the frequency button it will mute the headphones. Then hold again to turn audio back on.

I am getting ready to hit some hunted out spots with it to see if I can breathe some new life in them. Get the waterproof headphones and go overboard. I think you'll like it. Thanks!
I use the Legend. I have dug 18 coppers this year. A mix of large cents and State coppers. Hands down a great machine.
great job Kurt nice to see an honest test and opinions on a machine here in England a lot of those who do tests on new machines do not have a clue what they are talking about and even swing the pendulum ,you should do more LOL the problem with that is when detecting it is always best to use a machine that is an extension of your arm so to speak,,best wishes my friend and stay safe ,,,Pat
I grabbed the Simplex dude to lack of hunting time. Spent the difference on stocking up on ammo. Definitely getting a legend before springtime. They for some reason do great here in the shale of the Hudson Valley NY
Gotta love Wednesdays thanks to the Hoover Boys
Great to see a nokta I bought the simplex and love it for the price point
