I have to say. A highly solar-powered Kryptonian with a Red Lantern power ring is quite possibly one of the most powerful beings in the DC universe. Hell, Kara would probably conquer a multitude of inhabited worlds if she were evil and if she wanted to. This just says "overpowered" all over it, and I mean that in a good way.

@@biggestpickle6382 You realize you can say that about EVERYTHING in the dcu though right? Writers have done the flash a disservice by over powering him. Flash is my favorite mantle by far but i really hate how over the top they went with the speedforce. At this point, you can just assume flash beats everything and that is boring and im tired of nearly every event relying on flash running through time.

I never really cared about Supergirl until this story. Totally epic.
Her surviving the removal of the Red ring makes sense because of the yellow sun exposure. It immediatly heals Kyptonians the closer they are to the yellow sun.
This is one of my favorite comics. I come back to this video every so often because it's just so good. It made me appreciate Supergirl so much more

Finally! Someone understands. I salute you fellow human. I hate it when Supergirl is compared to Superman all the time but if she's literally been orbiting the sun for around 15-20 years then by logic, she's stronger than him. End of story. People always say no she's not because it's SUPERMAN. My goodness.

Red lanterns are the the only lantern comics I buy. This is by the far my favourite story from DC at the moment. I'm really liking super girl as well.

as someone who mostly only reads lantern comic books this was definitely helpful explaining how supergirl got into my comics.
I wish they would do a good supergirl movie, theres enough good material in the comics, but they always turn supergirl into a frickin barbie doll instead of the most powerful superhero in the universe
Supergirl is such an interesting character. I love Superman, but personally I'm more interested in the character than remembers Krypton and has to deal with the trauma of losing it, while also choosing to be a good person despite the inner rage and pain.
I agree but to bad when most people think of supergirl in any type of media outside of comics is mostly that campy TV show on the cw which makes her a gender bent ripoff of Superman where they use up half of Superman rogues gallery and storylines but adjust them for her like them using let Luther so many times

Just a single thing bothers me about this: How do new recruits of the red corps get to the blood lake on Ysmault if they go berserk as soon as they take the ring? Guy Gardner was lucky to already be there and Rankorr just dipped him in, but all the other recruits during his reign (including Supergirl) were just left wherever they just happened to be?
I'm not sure, but wasn't Hal Jordan immediately transported to Oa by his ring as soon as he put it on? Doesn't the same thing happen to the red lanterns? Because if not, good ol' Atrocitus has some major flaw in his recruitment rules... No wonder his corps is so small :^P
Also: Why would anyone NOT want a goddamn power ring? She's a teenager, so being calm instead of angry isn't an option anyways, and you don't have to have the intellect of Batman to calculate that kryptonian power plus ubercharge from the sun plus a red ring (and those are mostly the strongest of the rings) equals massive ass kicking ability.
SonTyp OhneNamen If a ring from any corps lands on your finger the first thing the ring tells you or leads you to is the homeworld e.g. green lanterns have to go to Oa soon after receiving their ring and yellow lanterns have to go to Qward after receiving theirs or people from the corps are asked to find you and take you. It's changed quite a lot

Late to the party, I know, but I am officially planning to seek the actual book(s) out for this now. Anybody else notice that it's apparently RIGHT after she's ranting about how she gets it, she doesn't "belong anywhere!"...that is EXACTLY when the Red Lantern Ring finds her and tells her:
"You Belong..."
You BELONG, it says. Imagine how that must feel for here, after feeling like she no longer "belonged", literally, "anywhere"...
God damn, that gives me a feel. I keep hearing good things about this and seeing THAT set of panels makes me want to read the original story even more! That is Red Lantern stories at their finest: not just about anger, but about the PAIN - the kind of deeply personal pain that so few others will, it feels to you at the time, ever understand, COULD ever understand - that causes the deepest, darkest, brightest-burning RAGE at the injustice of it all. As far as the potential to make me cry like a baby, this looks to be on par with Dex-Star's origin, and that is saying something!

one thing i dont like 52 supergirl.. she is just a spoiled brat... but red lantern supergirl is probably the most awesome thing ever... if i still play DCUO, i'll probably has a red lantern supergirl in my armory.

Shes not, ot was never said in the story, kind of like in the superman: doomed video, when Benny said that the story says doomsday could kill superman. With one punch, that was never said in the comic, at all, he kinda just adds stuff to make it more dramatic sometimes

My vote would go for Wonder woman with a Lantern ring. She's been a star sapphire, and a black lantern. Except that she's not an out-of-control rage-monster, like the Hulk. (Give Hulk a Red ring, and watch out, universe!)

He's a parody character. He was originally a generic villian, but in the 90s, DC retooled him into a parody of the dark, gritty, over violent comic book characters of the 90s. Now they have changed him again, but this time to parody the cold and aloof pretty boys that are so evident in today's media. However. At the core of the character he is still pretty much the same.

Because honestly, the common/most popular super heroes are BORING as sin (my opinion) at least compared to characters like Red Lantern Super Girl, omg. It's too awesome, my heart can't take it.

People tend to resent things they have no control over, even power-boosts if it means they can never be rid of them. Plus, i imagine the ring amplifies all of your hate and anger constantly; it must be pretty draining to be angry all the time.
Plus, once she actually controlled her power it was clear she DIDN'T want to give it up, she merely though it was the only option to kill the world-eater. Afterwards she simply lacked the anger and hate to get another (I imagine anyway, haven't followed the story further and I bet the writers probably just wanted her back in her old red and blues)

I did see a video (the reason I kinda got recommended this channel) regarding being angry ALL the time. The summary of what happens (with Hulk being the main example) is that if you're angry and in constant rage for such a long time, but the problem or source of that anger isn't dealt with or changed, then eventually the rage builds up to a breaking point, after which it's just... apathy.
Kris Doyle there are different kinds of rage take the red lantern in the green lantern series his was a righteous fury which he channeled tword justice.

they just give out Lantern Rings to everybody now, with everyone trying out a ring "what ever color" Make none of the Green or other Colors Special anymore, it kind of suck that most don't get to keep these Rings with it's power. temporary story for a temporary Bust or Action figure toy
I want this to be a special skin or version of super girl that gives her new skills and special move in injustice 2 with new customization and interactions
