I have three words for you, Dead Man's Party! Also, they had a hit with the theme song to the 80s teen movie Weird Science. Nowadays Danny Elfman is very successful at writing movie scores.
Danny Elfman is also a film composer who has done so many films that you probably love, but never knew he did. He is also the singing voice for Jack in Nightmare Before Christmas, as well as the composer. Check out more Oingo Boingo.
The best 80's band. I went to all of their concerts and they were so much fun. Danny Elfman went on to score over 100 films like Nightmare Before Christmas (his vocals), Batman (89), and Edward Scissorhands. Dead Man's Party is a must listen. It's one of Oingo Boingo's most notable songs.
There was nothing like a Boingo concert. I started seeing them at Magic Mountain. I’m currently introducing my husband to them he does know “Stay” so, we can see the band Dead Man’s Party. It’s as close to the real thing we can get now.
So happy that you've found yourselves in the Boingo rabbit hole - more please! Private Life is a good one (everything off the Nothing to Fear record is killer). You'll get plenty of requests for Dead Man's Party, which is a hell of a song, but Nothing to Fear is their most consistently awesome record IMHO (followed closely by Good for Your Soul).
WTG, Danny Elfman! How about "Stay?" I saw an interview with him years later, and he said that he regretted being so weird, especially "Little Girls." NOT recommended for a family channel!!!!
Oh man, I have nothing against Dead Man's Party, it's another great song, really. I hear it a lot on the radio as if it is the only Oingo Boingo song they have on their playlist! I know Oingo Boingo have many other great songs to listen to but man the radio stations seem to play only Dead Man's Party from them! I second that request for Good for Your Soul too!
Interesting Fact: This song (and subsequent album) was released as Danny Elfman for a solo album. The band still play on it. From what I gather, Elfman signed on as a solo artist as the record label was not interested in signing Oingo Boingo but Danny managed to get the band on the album regardless as session musicans so technically it is Oingo Boingo.
Interesting choice for a first Oingo Boingo listen - this is a very deep cut. But I LOVE OINGO BONGO! All their best songs are pre-Dead Man's Party. "Only A Lad", "Lttle Girls", "On the Outside", "What You See", "Nasty Habits", "Grey Matter"
Jay/Amber, their ""Stay", "Dead Mans Party", "Ain't This The Life" and "Wierd Science"are next for you. note: Gratitude did not chart, may not have been released as a single. Fun band. 80's new wave.
Oingo Boingo was the big thing in my High School; so when he went into soundtracks, like Batman, Edward Scissorhands, and Nightmare Before Christmas (where he did the singing voice for Jack), I fell in love with his music all over again.
The group was started by Danny Elfman's brother Richard as The Mystic Knights of Oingo Boingo. They did street theater and variety music, even appearing on The Gong Show. Danny took over and moved the sound to new wave rock.
"Ain't This the Life" is my favorite Oingo Boingo song. You guys would be more likely to recognize Elfman's movie soundtrack work , as it is hard to miss with such a prolific career.
"Dead Man's Party" is a great song -- played at thousands & thousands of Halloween parties ever since. "I Love Little Girls" is hilariously creepy, enough that it got banned from a lot of radio stations -- and the controversy just helped sell more albums. Steve Bartek is a truly underrecognized guitar hero -- because he could easily come up with whatever was needed to fit with whatever melodic/harmonic madness Danny Elfman threw at him. And, you probably didn't realize it, but Danny Elfman composed the theme to The Simpsons.
A song with a similar "new-wave" type sound... "One Night in Bangkok." By Murray Head, from the Musical "Chess." Fun fact, it was written by the two guys in ABBA. It is literally about a chess match in Thailand. Fun, and some lyrics are sort of semi-"rapped."
Awesome band! Fronted by Danny Elfman, who also did the musical score for several movies, including Batman, staring Michael Keaton. I highly encourage you to react to Oingo Boingo’s “There’s Nothing to Fear (But Fear Itself)” and “Who Do You Want To Be.”
Not My Slave, Stay, Heard Somebody Cry, On The Outside, Perfect System, Controller, It Always Makes Me Laugh (excellent positive song from same album as Gratitude), War Again, etc. So many great songs by Oingo Boingo. Start with Dead Man's Party.
By far my absolute, 100%, favorite band. Went to their concerts every October back in the 80’s and 90’s. You may have already heard his singing as the singing voice of Jack Skellington in The Nightmare Before Christmas. Biggest hit was Dead Man’s Party. Also check out Only A Lad, Stay, Grey Matter, Not My Slave, and Weird Science
Oingo Boingo with Danny Elfman! YAS!!!! You do know that he is the voice of Jack Skellington from Nightmare Before Christmas. Best Boingo song to hear is the long song called Insanity, especially a live version. Seeing Boingo perform that song in concert still gives me some great memories from that concert. Also, Private Life. This is one band you should checkout period.
Weird that y'all did this one. They are one of my favorite 80's bands [ya, I was one of those teens]. I was going to recommend anything from the Dead Man's Party album. They were a 70s pop music family group from Port Colborne, Ontario, Canada. They would have been Canada's answer to The Osmonds and The Jackson 5. Tony DeFranco, the youngest and the lead on the song, was 14 at the time of the songs release.
I never would have guessed that you guys would do an Oingo Boingo reaction! That was awesome! Another group I would love to see you guys do...Violent Femmes. Either "Blister In The Sun" or "Add It Up" would be great songs that I think you would love!
Yes Boingo. Elfman is a musical genius. Mentioned already but my fav sing of all time is we close our eyes (live farewell tour version) not my slave. A big influence for me. Love the bell lol
If you'd like to listen to another Oingo Boingo song then I would highly recommend Just Another Day. Their live performance of it at The Ritz is wonderful.
Oingo Boingo was to punk/new wave what Primus is to alt metal: quirky and bizarre, but oddly fun and wonderful music. Dead Man's Party was their biggest album (thanks to the single "Weird Science"), but the two favorite songs of mine on there are the apocalyptic groove "Just Another Day" and hauntingly vibe-y "Stay".
I love Oingo Boingo so much. The played my high school in 1981, if you can believe that. They had some great hits you should check out. My personal favorite is "Stay" - Danny's voice on that one is so incredible. But there's tons more songs to check out, get to them all when you can.
OINGO BOINGO!?!?!? Heck YES!!!!! So happy to hear you giving them a listen!!! Next check out Dead Man's Party, Stay, Just Another Day, Weird Science, Not My Slave!!! They're Awesome!!! Danny Elfman has gone on to be a major movie soundtrack composer doing soundtracks for Batman('89), Pee Wee's Big Adventure, The Nightmare Before Christmas and many more!!
Danny Elfman. Amber, you described him so perfectly. You can't take your eyes off of him, he's magnetic. Theatrical, yes! I call him the unseen member of the once trifecta of Johnny Depp, Helena Bonham Carter and Tim Burton. He's also behind more than just those movies' scores. The best soundtracks!
Oingo Boingo was one of my favorites back in the 80s! Danny Elfman is the composer of the Simpsons opening theme as well as countless movie scores. Grey Matter is another of their songs you should check out.
as a terrible trumpet player and part of a salt and pepper combination who graduated in 1985, and terrorized the mean streets of Vancouver WA. This was our favorite group. we were living through a time where horns were simply a few staccato blasts in pop. Boingo has a real horn section with real parts in most songs. to see Danny Elfman's instruments constructed by him, check out the whole farewell concert. As an oldster, I've seen watching first impression vid of Oingo Boingo all day, and I shall not stop! He has a fascinating story and as an 18 year old joined his brother on a European tour as part of a vaudeville group, then on his own at 19 did a tour of some African countries playing percussion instruments before getting malaria and returning to the states. His bro had come back and tasked him with his first movie music score completed in 2 weeks, The Forbidden Zone (has an unfortunate blackface at the beginning, but my friend breezed right by it as a fan). I'd be interested in your takeoff you have the chance. Have a wonderful life filled with Gratitude (HAR) as we GenXers hope you can do what we didn't have the votes to do.
Y'all did this a year ago, and nobody told me? What the hell? This is a damn good track, and it's so cool that you picked it up and did your reaction to it. This came from Danny's solo album, So-Lo, which was actually an Oingo Boingo album but it was released as a Danny solo thing from MCA, and then they changed the contract to include the whole band. It was made during a transition period for the band: their keyboardist and bassist were on the way out, so they brought in new members after this song and album were made.
Welcome to the genius that is Danny Elfman. You have to look him up to see what he has contributed to the music, TV, and movie industries. I absolutely love his voice, character, and charisma.
Danny Elfman is an amazing composer. Any Tim Burton film involves Danny Elfman . He has written the music scores to countless movies including Batman, Men in Black, Beetlejuice......and on and on. If I were to list every song or score that he has created would probably overload this comments section. If I can find a straightforward list I will post it.
Oingo Boingo was fantastic! Great music, quirky, fun videos. They started out as a traveling theater troupe, "The Mysitc Knights of the Oingo Boingo." Please also react to "Stay", "Dead Man's Party", and "Nothing Bad Ever Happens To Me".
My 17 year old daughter loves Oingo Bingo so I get to drive around feeling nostalgic listening to some of my favorite music from my younger days. According to my daughter a lot of her friends are fans. I always loved 'Not My Slave' and 'Dead Man's Party'. Danny Elfman is an amazing talent.
Great reaction ! I saw Oingo Boingo live maybe ten times from the late 80s to early 90s...They always did a Halloween show at Pac Amp in Southern California and I saw their farewell show at The Universal Amphitheater ! I went to many shows with my brothers and sisters and took my 14 year old daughter to the farewell show ! Such an exciting show with everyone on their feet singing along to every song...so many memories...
Danny Elfman's expressions and theatricality are a significant part of the Oingo Boingo "flavor". Danny developed and honed those skills with his brother Richard in the vaudeville troupe "The Mystic Knights of the Oingo Boingo" - when Richard left the group, the band shortened the name and modified their sound to a unique mix of swing, ska, and punk! Danny wrote pretty much all Oingo Boingo's music, and Steve Bartek (the guy playing the guitar solo in front of the picture of Danny that Amber associated with Annie Lennox) did the arrangements. Danny and Steve still often work together of film scores - most recently for 2020's "Dolittle". Note that this song is technically Danny Elfman, and not Oingo Boingo - the band had been dropped from one record company and did not have a new contract, so Danny did this under his own name while the band was working on a new contract - however, the band behind Danny is the same people as Oingo Boingo - retroactively, fans recognize "So-Lo" as an Oingo Boingo album in all but name. :-) "So-Lo" was the last album with bassist Kerry Hatch and keyboardist Richard Gibbs - Hatch was replaced by John Avila, and Gibbs by Mike Bacich on the next album ("Dead Man's Party").
Their biggest song was Weird Science, the theme song to the movie starring Kelly LeBrock, Anthony Michael Hall and Ilan Mitchell-Smith. Band was formed in 1979, this song was 1984.
Dead Man's Party was bigger. And Danny Elfman hated Weird Science. They rarely played it live. Yet DMP always had the biggest reaction. I saw live many times and got to know Sluggo( Sam)
On The Outside, We Close Our Eyes, Only A Lad, Grey Matter, Ain't This the Life, Goodbye-Goodbye, Nothing Bad Ever Happens... omg, they have so many great songs, take your pick!! maybe you've already done some of these, I'm still browsing, lol ... You guys are too cute and always make me smile, thanks
So excited to see a Boingo reaction. So sad that Gratitude was the first one. Not that it's bad, but many other better songs out there. Gratitude comes off Elfman's So-lo album which really had most of the band as backing. They are really known more as the band Oingo Boingo (or just Boingo). As a teenager of the 80's in southern California I'm very familiar with them. Their Halloween concerts were amazing. Better stuff is mostly from the Dead Man's Party album (4th album) and earlier. Jordan with his love of lyrics will get a kick out of many Boingo songs. Fan favorites are Dead Man's Party, Only a Lad, Nothing to Fear, Grey Matter, Just Another Day. Their style evolved album to album but to a Boingo fan was always recognizable. A mix of rock, punk, ska, new wave and other influences. I also recommend Who Do You Want to Be, Good For Your Soul, Stay, On the Outside, Private Life, just so many more. Concert versions of songs are always good, the music videos can be a little weird.
Wow! Now you’re in my backyard. Saw OB 7 times, including their last Halloween Show at The Universal Amphitheater. This Song oozes 80’s. Any OB is good, may I recommend you go further back to their first EP, or first 2 or 3 Albums, then check out their last as Boingo.
So happy to see this reaction video!!😊 Please go down the Oingo Boingo wormhole!!We in Southern California were lucky enough to be able to see them many times.Their live shows are legendary!!
Ignore everyone who says "listen to Dead Man's Party". That was the album the first bad Oingo Boingo release. The humor was gone as were the crazy lyrics and arrangements. For the real deal try: Who do you want to be Only a Lad Insects Wild Sex Nothing to Fear (but fear itself) Good for your soul Nasty Habits.
Danny Elfman is one of the most talented musicians of all time. Not only is he a great singer-songwriter, but he's an expert composer. He's done the scores of dozens of movies, including many of Tim Burton's films! You have to try "Dead Man's Party" (a great Halloween song), "You're Out of Control", and my personal favorite "Only a Lad". Another seriously awesome, quirky mysterious band you HAVE To check out is XTC. Some of their best songs include "Dear God", "Generals and Majors", "King For a Day" and "The Mayor of Simpleton".
DEAD MAN'S PARTY is the song you need to hear. Oingo Boingo is a brilliant band and the amazing Danny Elfman has witten and composed so many songs for movies & tv.
Everything on their "Best of" album is awesome. Danny Elfman has a long career in the movie score business. Beetlejuice, Batman (1989) are stand out examples, with Elfman even singing for Jack Skellington in A Nightmare Before Christmas. For another good Oingo Boingo song, check out "No One Lives Forever"
Great reaction RSR! Gratitude was my jam. Oingo Boingo THE band of esteem among my peers at school for years on years. A person's musical journey is shaped in strange ways. Peel back the onion layers of my journey and you'll find Oingo Boingo staring back at you.
Oingo Boingo was a fantastic band ~ I was lucky enough to see them live (in a twin bill with The Tubes) back in 11/83. If you want to explore more Oingo Boingo goodness, "Nothing Bad Ever Happens to Me," "Why Should I Care?" and "Dead Man's Party" are some great tracks.
Daniel Robert Elfman (born May 29, 1953) is an American composer, singer, and songwriter. He came to prominence as the singer-songwriter for the new wave band Oingo Boingo in the early 1980s. Since the 1990s, Elfman has garnered international recognition for composing over 100 feature film scores, as well as compositions for television, stage productions, and the concert hall. Elfman has frequently worked with directors Tim Burton, Sam Raimi, and Gus Van Sant, with notable achievements including the scores of 16 Burton-directed films including Batman, Edward Scissorhands, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Alice in Wonderland, and Dumbo; Raimi's Darkman (1990), A Simple Plan (1998), Spider-Man, Spider-Man 2, Oz the Great and Powerful, and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness; and Van Sant's Academy Award-nominated films Good Will Hunting and Milk. He wrote music for all of the Men in Black and Fifty Shades of Grey franchise films, the songs and score for Henry Selick's animated musical The Nightmare Before Christmas, and the themes for the popular television series Desperate Housewives and The Simpsons. Among his honors are four Oscar nominations, two Emmy Awards, a Grammy, six Saturn Awards for Best Music, the 2002 Richard Kirk Award, the 2015 Disney Legend Award, and the Max Steiner Film Music Achievement Award in 2017.
Oingo Boingo has been around since 1979 to about mid 1990s I think. They were really popular with us in the 1980s though! Went to see them in concert in 1983! They were awesome too! Someone has already the lead singer Danny Elman they mentioned his accomplishments as a composer for many films already so yes, Danny Elfman is quite talented in the respect. Glad you have been introduced to Oingo Boingo and hope to see you react to more songs that have already been listed! Enjoyed your reaction! ☮💕
Danny Elfman man has one of the best vocal ranges very warm and sexy to for the 80's.I'v been waiting sooooo long for someone to have the ball's for Oingo Boingo. My sister has all their records in perfect condition ( she work at arecord shop at 15) With us being from Adelaide Australia it was the song ''Stay'' that introduced us tho them ...Great song!
Oh what an ICEBERG you are cresting! Oingo Boingo had about a hundred albums and a thousand songs. Elfman masterminds intriguing and unique instruments and rhythms brought out from his time on walkabout in rural Africa and running an experimental theater. SUGGESTION: try Private Life. It has a video and it really opens things up with the brass and xylophones. And all the fans who are going to put forward Dead Man's Party, I'm with them as well.
It's so cool seeing you all react to all the music you do. You all certainly don't seem to shy away from any genre. You all give everything a chance. The other day you did a reaction to Thin Lizzy - Whiskey In The Jar. I seen other people referenced Metallica's version of that. You all should try it. It's not really that hard on the metal side. I think Amber would really like it.
Love Oingo Boingo and front man Danny Elfman. He writes almost exclusively for films now. Like "Nightmare Before Christmas." He also performs a lot of it. He is a musical genius.
Check out "They Might Be Giants"! They're one of the 80's most underrated weird/cool bands. I recommend "Birdhouse in Your Soul" as a sampling of their uniqueness.
Yay!!! One of my suggestions!!! Oingo Boingo has a massive library. Gratitude is good, but they have other solid hits!! Their live sets are amazing!! Danny Elfman is a musical genius! Keep smiling! 🥰
I remember when this came out 😁 Oingo Boingo and Fishbone were considered the Ultimate party bands at one time in the early to mid 80s 😁 I'll suggest "Only a Lad" and "Grey Matter" by Oingo Boingo 😁 Another "Quirky" band from this era ill suggest is Devo "Freedom of Choice" and "Peek a Boo" 😁
This is not my favorite Oingo Boingo song, I would suggest almost anything that has been recommended so far. Fishbone is another awesome band, from that time, place and vibe, "Freddie's Dead" and "Everyday Sunshine" are a good intro for them. Then No Doubt came along in the 90s.
This band is definitely 80s. Their biggest songs are Dead Man's Party, which was featured in the 80s movie Back to School and Weird Science, which was featured in another 80s movie of the same name. He has done the movie scores for a lot of Tim Burton movies like Batman, Edward Scissorhands, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, and Alice in Wonderland. He has other songs in dozens of other movies as well. He also did the Simpsons theme song. He also did the singing for Jack Skellington in Nightmare Before Christmas. He is all over the place!
John Williams (Star Wars, Indiana Jones, etc) and Danny Elfman (Spiderman, Batman, Nightmare Before Christmas, etc) are perhaps the best movie composers of all time. Oingo Boingo has some amazing songs and are completely underrated.
Didnt know if it was posted or not.. this is on the Beverly Hills Cop soundtrack... with different lyrics... this soundtrack is banging on every track!!!
Here is a bit of useless trivia. This song was on Danny Elfmans' solo album So Lo. He released this album as a solo album because he thought that it sounded different enough from Oingo Boingo that he thought fans wouldn't like it. But, over the years it has been considered as an Oingo Boingo album enough that it is now considered part of their discography.
The brilliant Danny Elfman! I automatically see Jack Skellington when hearing his voice lol. He’s one of my favorite film composers and The Nightmare Before Christmas is one of my favorite animated movies.
From Boingo to The Simpson’s theme, to countless movie soundtracks, Danny Elfman’s talent runs deep! I think Only A Lad and Capitalism are two tracks that still hit hard today, as far as relevance. Good call taking on Oingo Boingo! They were great live, too.
When Oingo Boingo split up Danny went on to score numerous movies. Almost every Tim Burton movie has a Danny Elfman score as do many Sam Raimi films. During the Covid19 lockdowns he started writing songs again and released a new album. And he recently played at Coachella, an hour set that featured stuff from Oingo Boingo, his scores, and his new material. They were amazing in concert. The rest of the band goes by Former Members of Oingo Boingo and they still do concerts.
"The Mystic Knights of the Oingo Boingo" started as a cabaret act and always kept a lot of theatricality in their music and videos. There are already a lot of good suggestions for songs here, but I would like to add "Stay" to the list.
I have three words for you, Dead Man's Party!
Also, they had a hit with the theme song to the 80s teen movie Weird Science. Nowadays Danny Elfman is very successful at writing movie scores.
He wrote the score for 16 Tim Burton films and 6 Sam Raimi films. Not to mention Good Will Hunting and Men in Black.
What YOU said! #DeadMansParty #JustDoIt #GivinThePeopleWhatTheyWant
JDS hogwash. He has been composing movie scores for years after Oingo Boingo.
Loved their appearance in the Rodney Dangerfield movie "Back to School"
The whole album.
Danny Elfman is also a film composer who has done so many films that you probably love, but never knew he did.
He is also the singing voice for Jack in Nightmare Before Christmas, as well as the composer.
Check out more Oingo Boingo.
I have been an Elfman fan for ages. 🙂
i just came here to say this, but you beat me to it. lol
I am going to toss in The Corpse Bride on Danny Elfman's resume. A criminally overlooked movie!
And The Simpsons theme song
Not only did he sing and compose the music. He wrote all of the songs too.
"Only A Lad" is great too. Danny Elfman in concert is the same - so hilarious with his facial expressions!
Only A Lad is a Brilliant song! Must do.

Why nobody thought to make Danny Elfman play the part of The Joker is a mystery to me, I mean, Look at him! He may BE the real Joker. 🤡
Don't forget the film "Beetlejuice." I love that music!
@@davidspencer7475 Oh indeed!

All their best songs are pre-Dead Man's Party.
"Only A Lad", "Lttle Girls", "On the Outside", "What You See", "Nasty Habits", "Grey Matter"
Their best song is Who Do You Want To Be Today.
Little Girls was a tongue and cheek song making fun of the douche bags of the casting couch. Unfortunately it can be taken literally these days.
Also love “Sweat”.
Totally agree! Good for your soul is my favorite.
Also a huge Oingo Boingo fan...Sweat, Private Life, Who Do You Want To Be?, Just Another Day...so many fantastic songs.
Jay/Amber, their ""Stay", "Dead Mans Party", "Ain't This The Life" and "Wierd Science"are next for you. note: Gratitude did not chart, may not have been released as a single. Fun band. 80's new wave.
Back to school, Rodney Dangerfield
Dead man’s party is the one that should’ve done in the first place
Let's also include Gray Matter (live version).
I was thinking about Stay, Dead man's Party, and Weird Science.
Ah, Stay. In my top 3 Oingo Boingo songs of all time. We Close Our Eyes is in there too.
"Things Can Only Get Better" by Howard Jones - You guys will like it a lot!
Howard and Danny remind me a lot of each other, good suggestion
Love that song!!"
Yes! I love all Howard Jones songs. Especially WHAT IT LOVE
Ooops. What is love***

I always bought CDs, and i still have this all those I referenced... and I still listen to them.
Taco - "Puttin' on the Ritz '. 👍
My first thought is "Weird Science" whenever I hear about *Oingo Bingo* . It's my favorite.
So many fun 80’s songs you guys would love.
Blancmange -“That’s love that it is”
Haircut 100 - “Love Plus one” (horns in this one!)
"Stay" is my favorite. I play Dead Man's Party once in a while, but I play "Stay" by itself regularly.
Another band that I saw a concert in the 80s they are excellent!! They have been in a lot of movies in the 80s.
These guys were pioneers of the new wave music scene....gotta check out "Stay" and "Just Another Night" for more bangers!
I just adore your reactions to all the songs you react to ..you all make my day thank you so much
I love Oingo Boingo so much. The played my high school in 1981, if you can believe that. They had some great hits you should check out. My personal favorite is "Stay" - Danny's voice on that one is so incredible. But there's tons more songs to check out, get to them all when you can.
Elfman is a genius! The live performance of “Insanity” is amazing!!
One of my all time favorite bands. This is one of my favorite of their songs.
“No One Lives Forever”
Oingo Boingo is awesome! You should give a listen to Dead Man’s Party. It’s about zombies!
I know you love horns & piano, so the prefect Boingo song would be “No one lives forever”. Very upbeat, mysterious and action packed!
Saw these guys live back before the retired in the 90’s…. Amazing band, amazing live performers, amazing songs
“Dead Man’s Party” is one of my favs by Oingo Boingo! Love you guys!! ☺️❤️
Should've started with "Weird Science" or "Dead Man's Party".
Danny Elfman did the theme song for the Simpsons , and several movie music scores
Yep, and Jenna Elfman is his wife, right? nice one there too
Welcome to the genius that is Danny Elfman.
"So-Lo" was the last album with bassist Kerry Hatch and keyboardist Richard Gibbs - Hatch was replaced by John Avila, and Gibbs by Mike Bacich on the next album ("Dead Man's Party").
Annnnnnd Tony Stark :p
@@user-sm2ql7nq4l I was referring to the charts. Weird Science reached 45, Dead Man's Party didn't chart at all.
For the real deal try:
Who do you want to be
Only a Lad
Insects
Wild Sex
Nothing to Fear (but fear itself)
Good for your soul
Nasty Habits.
I’m so excited for you to do more Oingo Boingo. They are such an experience. I went to all their concerts in the 80s and they never disappointed.
DEAD MAN'S PARTY is the song you need to hear. Oingo Boingo is a brilliant band and the amazing Danny Elfman has witten and composed so many songs for movies & tv.
You've probably heard his solo music before - he's really well known for scoring a lot of movies. He's a great composer!
Highly recommend the video for Oingo Boingo's "Stay"... beautiful and haunting.
Dead Man's Party, Weird Science is great Oingo Bonigo songs.

“Dead Man’s Party” and “Weird Science” have to be next!!
They mixed Ska, Punk, and New Wave together with other musical elements.
I'm a Socal boy from the 80s, you have no idea what Boingo meant to us. Oh, and KROQ LIVES!
Stepping into Boingo! This will be a great rabbit hole.
"just another day" a great boingo song that includes the line " I've got a smile on my face for everyone"
Love Oingo Boingo and front man Danny Elfman. He writes almost exclusively for films now. Like "Nightmare Before Christmas." He also performs a lot of it. He is a musical genius.
This particular song was released in 1988 but the band started in 1979. This is 80's New Wave.
Their Halloween shows were legendary. omg I miss those days..
Boingo has a whole string of hits: Only a lad, Not my slave, Just another day, Home again, Grey Matter..
Yes they should give Fishbone a listen and The Untouchables.
@@andydurazo5337 I forgot about The Untouchables "Free yourself" is good one 😁
This is not my favorite Oingo Boingo song, I would suggest almost anything that has been recommended so far. Fishbone is another awesome band, from that time, place and vibe, "Freddie's Dead" and "Everyday Sunshine" are a good intro for them. Then No Doubt came along in the 90s.
@@kevinkenney2343 yes! This is more Danny Elfman solo stuff ☺
Danny (and Oingo Boingo) is in Back to School with Rodney Dangerfield. One of the great comedies of all time!! Must watch if you haven't seen it.
Other songs I'd recommend: Dead Man's Party (they sing this in Back to School), Grey Matter, Only a Lad. So many to choose from!
Wow I never knew Oingo Boingo had any other songs but Weird Science from seeing the movie. The things we learn!!
Welcome aboard! OINGO BOINGO is legendary here in the Los Angeles area. My brothers and I saw OINGO BOINGO many times in the '80s and '90s .
Peter Shilling - Major Tom. Perfect 80s vibe.
You have already done space oddity you need to do this song!!!
"Just Another Day" is also great. Thank you for all you share with us.
" Oingo boingo" is Swahili for "thinking while dancing"
So many fun tracks from Oingo Boingo: Insanity, Grey Matter, Can't See (Useless), Change, Reptiles and Samurai, Nasty Habits, …
I like your appreciation of Reptiles & Samurai and Nasty Habits. Good pull.
New wave!
Jenna Elfman the actress is the niece-in-law of the singer Danny Elfman.
Danny Elfmans a Genius! Rocker turned Film Composer💙🌺🌷💯
This song makes me think more of David Byrne and the Talking Heads - like Once in a Lifetime. - 😎😎😎😎
Saw them in concert twice and they did not disappoint. Would love to see you cover Fishbone “Party at Ground Zero”.
I agree with everyone else, Dead Man's Party is where you want to start with them.
