With his lifestyle and some of the songs he did with super screaming lyrics for so many years he's kind of lucky its just his voice that got damaged. He had a great career in music.
Steven and Joe were called The Toxic Twins, not from the modern meaning of a toxic relationship but because they took so many drugs they were like toxic waste. It was like if you touched them you would become high.
I was thinking the same thing like "Who's he talking about?" LOL! That just means it's been too long since they reacted to some Aerosmith. Jay's forgotten their names! EEK!
@@michellec2514 Same here. It would be one thing if Nikki Sixx and Joe Perry looked alike or even if they played the same instrument but that's not the case in either situation. Nikki Sixx plays bass.
Amber & Jay, here are some other good Aerosmith songs to react to: "Mama Kin", "Same Old Song and Dance", "Train Kept A-Rollin'", "Toys in the Attic", "Sick as a Dog", "Kings and Queens", and "Chip Away the Stone".
Thank you please do something from the '70s the music is so much better. Also it needs to be brought to your attention that this band has just retired after 50 years. Go deeper than what you're doing this music's okay but the earlier music is so much better the list of songs in this thread is a great start
This Whole Album was Fire!!!! Eat the Rich was the first track, Livin on the Edge was the premiere song for the album, but the songs that really peaked were Cryin and Crazy.
The line toward the end, "Take your grey poupon, my friend and ..." referenced a commercial that was popular. In it, a rich person rolls down the window of her limo and says, "Pardon me, do you have any gray poupon?" It's undoubtedly on RUclips, given how memorable it was.
Lol .. I said that once when we pulled up next to my bil in his car .. we both rolled up, rolled out windows down @ the same time .. me: Pardon me, do u have any grey poupon? .. my bil cracked up!! Good rocker here .. great reactions y'all. 😊
If I remember correctly, this song was aimed at the record execs eating up the profits from their music. They had to keep touring for years to make money because they weren't getting money from their record sales, even though they were in the top 10% of Rock bands. This was before artists and groups got wise and started remastering their music.
Are you calling Joe F’n Perry Nikki! 😆Oof. Yes, This song and entire album was a huge hit. Btw yes, Steven Tyler’s rich, but he’s referring to the suits. The ones that are given wealth by doing nothing. Aerosmith are the Bad Boys of Boston. Rich now, but blue collar in their souls. You’ve barely scratched the surface with these guys let alone hearing all their hits.😄 Still a whole list of hits left. Let alone their killer B-Sides. Great reaction guys. Amber you looked fantastic!
Saw Aerosmith on the tour in the 90's. I think this is the "Get A Grip" tour. The 5 Non-Blondes opened for them. One if the best performing ans sounding arena shows I ever experienced!!
It depends on when in the 90’s you saw them. Get a grip was early 90’s and 9 lives was late 90’s I saw them for the 9 lives tour and Jonny lang opened for them. It was my first Aerosmith concert and it was amazing! I saw them a total of 3 times, every time was awesome! I was supposed to go to the farewell tour but they had to cancel. I was so disappointed.
They were known as the Toxic Twins in the '70s because of the amount of drugs and alcohol they did. Even Steven Tyler said he can't believe they're still alive.
I worked on a music video for Joe Perry during that first breakup and the shoot never happened … we showed up 8 am to set up and we waited, and we waited, and we waited… Joe showed up about 4 pm to wasted to work… and that was that… no video.. they pulled the plug and we wrapped it out the next day.
Definitely a band I regret never having seen live ! I was really into their music, just never got the chance ! This whole album was amazing ! I always played it right through !
Amber is right Ragdoll came off of Permanent Vacation! One of the most underated albums of ALL time, let alone one of the best Aerosmith albums! Close second to Toys in the Attic!! Two other Great songs off of Permanent Vacation you should hear are: St. John Or Hangman Jury They also integrated some cool soundeffects into these that will delight your ears from headphones!
"Livin on the edge" by Aerosmith still perfectly describes the current state of the world. "Somethings wrong with the world today, I don't know what it is..." ❤️🩹🇺🇸
What it Takes has been my favorite song by them since Pump came out in 1989. Crazy was (at the time) my girlfriend and my song back in 1993. The Toxic Twins thing came about in the 70's. Everyone thought their careers were over! Run DMC's cover of Walk This Way, I think around 1986 really brought them back into the spotlight, and they killed it! They were superstars once again and have been ever since! By the time I Don't Wanna Miss a Thing was my mom's favorite song in 1998 I was kinda freaking out, lol!
GREAT reaction! Can't believe this album is over 30 years old!! This track, Livin' On The Edge & Shut Up & Dance were my faves from it! I was 15, and this was getting blasted in my bedroom constantly (much to my parents' annoyance!) Yes, this was Aerosmith back on top of the world! Cheers.
LEGENDARY VOICE AND BAND. EVERY member has their own unique sound and crisp. I still can’t believe they’re retired /: but all their music is engraved in history!!!! This is one of the most odd songs of theirs BUT they have another BIZARRE song. Gotta Love It by Aerosmith off the same record, one of the most fun bass songs!
This song transitions perfectly into Get a Grip and then followed by Fever (one of my favorite songs) and then Living on The Edge. Elite run of tracks on this album!
You could have done a killer “Eat The Rich” theme day. Aerosmith, Motörhead and Krokus. 3 different songs, 3 different bands, one title. All of them rock!
The bad boys of Boston! Aerosmith will go down in history as one of the best bands ever. Tyler has incredible vocals and is a lyrical poet. "Rag Doll" is a great tune Amber, such a fun song. This is a bad ass tune! This is of course a song that hits back at wealthy people who look down on others. The band was rich but they come from humble beginnings and have always been down to Earth, genuine people.
The story of the song was that they (or one of them) was in an elevator with trust fund babies and heard them complaining about 1% problems "'Cause I'm sick of your complainin' About how many bills And I'm sick of all your bitchin' 'Bout your poodles and your pills And I just can't see no humor About your way of life" while also looking down on those who aren't rich. None of them were born rich, they were offended, they wrote the song.
Love your hair Amber!! ❤️☺️Steven Tyler is awesome, and he does a lot for childrens charities. More Shinedown please Devour, Bully, Daylight and on and on. Big fan ☺️
SO LOVE JOE PERRY'S RIFF IN THIS!! I know it's a "standard riff"...but, DANG - HE HEATS IT UP in THIS ONE!!! ...and, Tom Hamilton - WOW!!! WHAT A JAM!!! 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
I still can't believe you guys haven't done "Walk This Way" being covered by RUN DMC ft Aerosmith!! Such a cool and sort of a groundbreaking concept back then.
Now you are going back to when Aerosmith used to really rock hard. Please add "Mama Kin" "Hangman Jury", "Permanent Vacation" and "Same Old Story" to the list.

Aerosmith #1 fan here. Their first 3 albums were never topped by any later ones. No More, Somebody, Write Me (1st album) S.O.S., Pandora's Box, Spaced (2nd album) and No More No More (3rd album) then skip 4th album to their 5th album Draw The Line, my picks for standard #1 Aerosmith songs are Sight For Sore Eyes and The Hand That Feeds from all 4 of these albums represent the more original standard Aerosmith sound that OGs loved. Sick as A Dog and No More, No More are two good ones, without me filling the page with killer Aerosmith songs!
Steven Tyler saw my mom looking at him at a t shirt shop in Maui and walked up behind her, grabbed her around the waste and whispered yes it’s me.
I would've passed out right there!!!😂❤

Sad that Steven Taylor has retired at 76 due to his vocal cords being damaged . Still love hearing the music that He and Aerosmith created..
Hey....he was able to sing loud, rock music well into his 70s. Not bad at all.
Hey with the kind of lifestyle he led he's lucky he survived at all.
I had floor seats for that show … it’s a bummer .
With his lifestyle and some of the songs he did with super screaming lyrics for so many years he's kind of lucky its just his voice that got damaged. He had a great career in music.

this feels like a return of the old days, building on instrumental parts at the beginning. and rocking of course.
Yes, it sounds like some of their 70's albums which is in my opinion their best period.
@@mauricecohen3830 I don’t disagree with you about the sound, but my favourite albums from them are this one and Permanent Vacation.
