Remember, people are people, whether they are clients, bosses, or competitors. Not sure how you see Dave, but treat him as a friend, don’t get too caught up with “growth” that you see others a as stepping stones. Don’t wait to “hear from people” while never taking the time to say “hi” yourself.

    • @realberserkpanda

yeah completely agree. I don't know how you are doing and how your relationship with Dave is going but if I was in your shoes I would probably want a guy like Dave as a friend. he just seams like someone who can motivate and help out if needed. so I would probably try to combine RUclips and going on jobs with Dave. ofcore I don't know the full details of if he doesn't let other film during rescues or other jobs. but you could try talking things out. and maybe do vlog type videos for your channel whilest doing jobs with Dave and the crew.

Wow, okay , you're good young man and Dave I'm sure knows that, reach out to him as well , he did it several times now and I'm sure we don't know all of the truths , but thanks for keeping it between you and him if it was negative , we should all work together and maybe once in a while you will find the time to go along and if you get to busy , he is to and Dave should understand that as well I'm sure, Dave is a good guy he probably sees himself in you a bit , I subscribed to your channel and will be watching it now and make up for the few I missed and I will give a like , hope that helps. Good luck, you have a following, so it will get out soon enough your on your own , hell I just saw this tonight for the first time so !

Congrats on hitting 100k subs! That must have just happened in the last 24 hours.. in your video you mentioned you were close.
I really appreciate your honesty and sharing what's going on. I like a lot of your videos, especially when you're talking to us when you're doing the builds. I cannot imagine how difficult it could be to talk to a camera, but I've noticed that when youtubers master that interaction that it really helps make it feel like we're there with you during every phase of the builds. It also builds a connection that draws us in to wanting to watch more.

Trust me, as a fellow entrepreneur Dave understands where you're at and you clearly want to be more like him, thats a compliment to him, doesn't need to be weird. Friends are friends, but they do drift apart over time, thats why we make new ones all the time. Be friends, but do your own thing when you need to. Just remember, never burn bridges, keep them or blow the pilings out of the water, there is no inbetween. Burnout is something that can make you feel dead inside, but you can get past that if you try. Friends can also be your greatest rival, and biggest supporters so long as you treat them as you would want to be treated.

This is my first time seeing your channel.... I heard Dave refer to you on his channel, but never knew your last name or that you had a channel of your own until just now.
As a "local" that sees Dave drive by my friend's hangar all the time, I've come to understand Dave keeps to himself and doesn't want to interact with people beyond a wave. But I have immense respect for the man and what he's done to help people. I love how he mentored your and encouraged you to grow. And sometimes the people we help grow wind up leaving the nest.
I look forward to seeing your other content and if nothing else, I'll continue cheering for your continued growth. If there's some other way I can support you as a local - let me know!

Having mentorship sounds awesome. I'm a 50 year old dude who finds himself switching gears after decades in the construction trades. For some reason I'm into cars now. Maybe it was learning to weld last summer while building a bus into a home, but once I started messing with metal a new world opened up. Without change life gets predictable and boring.

I completely disagree. I would never hire someone like this. He said that he felt like he had nothing more to learn and they would not pay him any more money. So he basically got bummed out and let his performance affect his poor little attitude.
This shows poor character and poor work ethic. Someone’s paying money to do a job not to move around and be depressed. That’s a shitty way to treat someone that has given you an opportunity. He is like so many kids his age they feel like they should be making six figures in a couple years. It’s hilarious they don’t want to put in the work

@@BVonBuescher I believe you would never hire anyone like this, because you will never be a business owner with employees. Edit: I also wanted to add a few additional details for context. I accomplished all this after four years in prison, and a year sentence in LA County. I was released a age 30 (I’m 44 now), finished my undergrad (where is voted outstanding senior of the year 4.0 gpa w/20 credits) the on to my MBA graduated valedictorian with a double major for finance and marketing.
I’ve worked for some pretty large corporations as well (Second largest newspaper conglomerate in the United States) and I’m only saying this because unless you’ve lived it, you have no idea how hard it is to not only get hired and I environment with a felony on your record but to thrive in it
I didn’t do easy time either, I was in level three most the time on the main line. Just to keep it 100.

@@BVonBuescher you could have saved it with all the education bullshit. I'd rather have education from a farmer for a welder. Real world intelligence has nothing to do with a GPA or credits especially anything from LA. So you fucked up and had a rough life and got sent to prison for it, join the crowd we all make mistakes growing up. It's where you go and and how you learn from those mistakes that ultimately decide your fate.
I've also worked for a couple of fortune 100 companies. Tyco and ScanSource to be exact, and never nothing special. Just big companies. I sure as hell wouldn't be telling people I work for a newspaper, considering how corrupt the media is.
Well I think it's pretty intuitive that you would know that I have a $10,000 computer that I used to game on just a year ago, I don't really use it for that lately. As a side hobby I decided to start doing some python c++, honing my Fusion 360 skills, along with experimenting with easy EDA.
It looks as if you fell into the exact trap that I expected you to. I don't know shit about you just like you don't know shit about Hunter. The guys obviously got a skill set he wants to exploit, and maybe working for somebody else doing monotonous, uncreative, uninspiring work just wasn't for him. When I quit my job to start my business I was making $70,000 a year. For where I live that's a lot of money. I went from making 70K to nothing. It's not always about the money, and if you're in a job just for the money you're either hungry which is understandable or you're too lazy to see your true potential.

I see some have commented similar thoughts... I didn't hear where you may have reached out from time to time.

I just want to say that it's ok to say no to his requests from time to time but he thinks enough of you to call and invite you.
Do not burn a bridge, do not air dirty laundry, use any opportunity Dave might give you to be able to grow your brand.
Call him, ask about the wife and kids, show genuine concern if he is your friend. Nurture that relationship you had... Exhance it now that you aren't his direct employee.
Seriously, best of luck to you. I'm suscribed and watching.

Good for you, Hunter. What attracts me as a viewer is car stuff. I'm not a big Diesel fan but I did and still watch the Sparks programs because of the content. With that being said. Content!!! Make it interesting for the viewer. Not just stuff to video just to make a video. Good content is the key IMO.
I remember back to about a year or so ago. I watched one of "Sparks" video's and he did something for someone. OH! When the man had his Family up in the hills and his truck's steering broke and that mean other dude come along and made the situation really bad. It was that video that after I watched it I commented to Mr. Sparks "You are and angel and God has a special place for you in heaven." I remember this like it was yesterday (I have a mind like that with certain things.) When I know it was a reply from Mr. Sparks, not a reply with a tag for me to follow or go to another site to claim a prize. What he said "Thank you" THEN dropped a link to his store for me to go buy his stuff. That reply IMO was not cool. I know where his store is. Hell, I live not all that far away from his store. I have been there AND to the merchandise warehouse a couple times. Him putting that in a response to my comment said to me that 'Wow, what a money, grubbing snob."
Hunter, you will do great things. You will make it just fine. I did just subscribe so I will be on the look-out for content by you. Go get it, Hunter.
Edit. I finished watching the video (yeah, I paused it 3/4 of the way through to comment.) This part of my comment is about how US, skilled, talented people. To me, and for the situations and people I am around it seems like that the only reason why some of these people want me around is not for who I am as a person. It's for what I can do for them or what I may have that they can use. I have many, many acquaintances that I have gained over my years of being a stock/custom automotive builder. Yes, I do have skills and talent. Some say that people like myself are going to the way side. It's all good and makes me proud that folks think and say that of me. However, it is much better if these folks would occasionally include me in other activities outside of the Automotive scene. It's like in their tool box is a drawer with my name on it. Whenever they feel the need to have me around they yank that drawer open and out pops the tool of me and away this tool gets used. Tired of that shit.
