VoicePlay - Nothing Else Matters - What? When VP broke this, they broke a lot of reactors who didn't think it could be done. Word got around to Chicago who checked it out and contacted them to appear on stage with them for the Chicago and Friends concert last Nov 17-18. When they had come up on stage one of the stage managers wanted to know where they wanted the drum kit set up. Eli just pointed at Layne saying, "He's it." Chicago's trumpet player was sitting beside Geoff while VP was doing one of their songs and just staring at him. You could see it on his face, "How does he do that?". Pretty incredible, it was the 4 guys plus Omar Cardona. J None was back at work singing for the US Navy.

Fabulous. One of my favourite arrangements from VP. We've been asking for more rock covers because this one is so damn epic 😉. Thank you 🌹 🕊

This is one of the bands and songs that made me toss away the razors and handful of pills if you know what I mean and make something of myself in this crazy life.

I like how you set two versions side by side and don´t try to have a favourite. I know I could not be impartial. I´m old and soft and don´t like Metal. I love VoicePlay and what they do with Covers like Dream on, Warriors and Nothing else matters. Maybe it´s music for softies, but I don´t care. Thank you for all the work you do to make us hear and understand the differences.

Sad I missed the premiere, but great video! One of my favorite covers from VoicePlay. Great seeing both songs compared to each other in the same video.

I appreciate hearing the original, especially since I am very old and missed the Metallica era. Voiceplay is the best, I just love their work!!

Very nice comparison. (BTW, if you haven't looked it up yet, Metallica's bassist at the time was Jason Newsted.)

So glad you emphasize voiceplay for your cover channel. I would like to introduce you to another cover specializing band, post modern jukebox. They only do vintage jazz, duwop, motown, swing type band covers of iconic songs.
There is something special you can do on your channel later once you find them. Perhaps a warm up of miche braden doing a new Orleans jazz cover of guns n roses sweet child o mine.

Great cover songs are a reminder that original songs are great. Or one that makes me want to hear the original song. I never liked Metallica when I was younger, but after hearing this song, I started to listen to them a little more. (I did listen to Zeppelin and Alcatraz, so it's not that I didn't like hard rock.) Of course, I listen to this song more than the original.

I think you meant guitar solo for the violin, but, nonetheless, if you pay real close attention to the background vocals, J., Eli, and Cesar are singing the guitar solo, but it is divided between them.
Also, fyi, the violin is a sorta cheap prop. Layne records on his real instrument, but doesn't use it in videos.
