I appreciate the time you spent making this video. I'm just about done! Usually I take the time to photograph what the parts I'm removing, however I did not this time. There were times in the video when it was difficult to see exactly what you were doing. Maybe a closer view of the connecting points may help better for those who may have eye problems...anyways thank you!
This is an amazing video. My trouble is that the assembly that holds the disc moves the read head has come disconnected. I don't know how to align things to snap it back in, but I will give it another try after watching this. Thank you
I might have had a Unit like that in my STS. It only jammed up once in 14yrs, and I managed to get it free by repeatedly pressing the Eject Button, Once the Stuck Disc was out, I did the same for the rest. Reinstalled them the uninstalled them 2 Twice, and it has worked ever since. Voodoo machine

My car changer is actually a 2003 Altima Bose unit that keeps making a spinning noise until it times out with an error so I'm not too sure this would help me with specifics. But the concept must be the same anyway.

I follow your step-by-step tutorial to repair my 6 cd changer plugged on Camry 2004 and successfully disassembled the cd changer part from the head unit - Panasonic CQ-ES8481ABT. While inspecting the parts I found out the biggest gear, along the gear line that functions to move the cd up and down, is broken. I couldn't reassemble the cd tray using the 9 V battery as the gears on the left side of the motor was not spinning. Could you help with the part number for the biggest gear? I really appreciate your help.
hmm, so I finally got time to remove my HU . By rotating one of the main gears on the corner I was able to manually eject the top CD. Unfortunately I can't seem to find something to rotate that would move the 2nd to top CD up and out and so on and so forth. The CD changer portion of this player and the operation of the elevator mechanism isn't very thoroughly looked over since you only use 1 CD in this demonstration.
Where can you buy replacement gears? At the ~20:18 point in the video you are turning that white gear. The gear that it drives, the black on that's about 1 inch in diameter is the one I need. The lower section has missing teeth. Thanks!

The other question is what makes cd changer an mp3 cd changer. What mp3 means in this context, what exactly it supports? And last question of all these types which one would you say is the most reliable (version1, version2 and so on). Thanks
Can you obtain any parts for this changer mechanism? Specifically the white gear which engages the eject and load for cds. It is the white gear at 58:54 in your video. These gears crack and then slip on the splines. I need this part to repair my changer. Please reply if you can obtain these parts. Thanks!
I have 2003 AVALON JBL 6 disc changer. The load/eject mechanism is not working and does not load or eject discs. Please help. There is sound of movement, but the CD isn't getting loaded or ejected in automatically.
my changer only saying reading error. loading and ejection work just fine also motor drives CD inside. changer itself got hot while I park not drive few days. it is DVD changer version Hyundai asked me $1000 for part. any solution for it ? Thanks
I have the same changer as above mach 300 6cd I completely took it apart because of your awsome video but when I finished it loads and then it gives a bad cd in red. I cleaned the cd head alcohol and dried it with canned air.It still gives the bad cd code.

I have two metal plates blocking the entry of the cd. The two plates are one above the other with a small thin gap between them which is not wide enough to accept a cd. Has anyone experienced this problem and a way to correct it so that the player will work again? This is on a 2005 Toyota Solara SLE with a 6 pack cd player. In a JBL marked rag Doo, cd, and cassette system. The radio and cassette are both working fine.
I brought a whole new cd assembley from the link you provided, I fitted it today, pluged it in - push Load to load a cd and keep getting CD error, the loading flap wont open - any tips on what the cause may be please ? appriciate your advice. Regards Glenn..

I have a Ford 2003 BA Ute with 6 stacker CD & I have trouble with the CD's being picked up by laser & give up after a few moments then eject, only disc 6 sometimes plays a little but jumps around & other CD's don't play at all, tried a cleaning disc from JB Hifi with 2 brushes & cleaning liquid drop on one brush multiple times though made no difference, what should I do next would appreciate your advice thankyou

Not saying this I bad video cause it’s pretty great with helping but this is not the as they Mercedes 6 cd changer. It’s totally different. The cd holders are slightly similar but that’s about it.

hmm, so I finally got time to remove my HU .

when CD disc inside the mechanism ,can you see the is spinning or not?if spinning then CD lazer is faulty.

IS IT A 6 CD MECHANISM OR SINGLE CD AND IF 6 CD THEN SOUND LIKE ALIGNMENT ISSUE BUT IF SINGLE CD THEN IT WOULD VERY EASY TO REPAIR.

the 6 CD mechanism need to replace because the Laser is faulty so cleaning will not help.

You need to either find the pinout or harvest a plug from a loom somewhere.

Mercedes use 3 different types of 6 cd mechanism and i am showing one of them. three are made by Panasonic,Kenwood and Apline.
