      Speaking of that, a lady in a Tesla T-boned my '99 Tacoma on February 20th. We were at a four-way stop, we stopped at the same exact time. I was the vehicle on the right so I made the mistake of following the law, which gives me the right of way, and going first. She punched it and crashed into the rear driver side of my truck with the front of her tesla. A week later she got herself a lawyer and claimed that I ran the stop sign. She is not talking to Progressive, her insurance or State Farm, my insurance. My truck is still sitting at a collision center waiting to be seen if it's totaled or not. I thought the same thing you did, if she's claiming this, where is the video? I've been asking for 10 weeks now.

      The cameras save to a USB device. That goes bad every so often. Especially cheap thumb drives die all the time, since they're not made for continuous writing. Also not all Teslas come with one pre-installed. Actually, I'm not sure if the flash drive they come with is plugged in or if it's just in the glove box and needs to be plugged in by the driver, so quite a few drivers never put one in.
      Also, if you're at fault, you don't have to provide evidence against yourself. The police can confiscate the drive, though. If they think of it in time...

    • @alexanderrogge
      @alexanderrogge Год назад +1

      I also wonder who authorized the closure of a lane on what appears to be a public road, merely to accommodate the traffic coming out of a parking garage. We should always consider the cost of damaging an expensive car like this Tesla, because "the other insurance company took responsibility" really means that an insurance company paid thousands of dollars to fix the damages and then passed the cost onto their customers. One of the reasons why our annual insurance premiums are now high enough to buy a car in 1990 is because you wreck a car like a Tesla and it can cost more than a luxury car in 1990 to fix it, and we all end up with the bill. Cars have become too complicated, fragile, and expensive for the typical driver.

First was the cammer who made it their life goal to prevent the Tesla from being able to merge when their lane was ending and the Tesla driver who tried to force the issue after realizing the cammer was an a55hole. If the insurance saw the video, they would have split fault since prior to the impact both vehicles were stationary with the Tesla in front. Then the cammer CHOSE to drive forward again when it was not safe to do so. The Tesla driver also CHOSE to continue coming over when it wasn't safe to do so. Both drivers CHOSE to make unsafe moves.

If someone starts switching lanes without signaling, I can't speed up and pit them into a ditch. Another driver's wrong doesn't give me free license to just hit them to teach them a lesson.
