No it was supposed to be 151 families getting a turkey dinner. These 6 people took 5 families from having a turkey dinner. So, only 146 got a turkey dinner. These 6 people jacked 5 families from eating. I’ve seen this so much. My mom worked at social services for a few years. Most have been on aid for generations! They expect to be given everything! I’ve seen women say who’s going to pay for my BABIES! I need rent money ect ect. They had a class you had to attend to get benefits (my mom did it, I was there and saw this happen) if you weren’t working you had to attend these, and they’re designed to help you find work. His wife and him were there. He states he shouldn’t have to attend these classes because he has a terribly bad back. He’s going on and on. He states he has had his bad back for a couple years now. I’m looking at him his wife’s holding a newborn and they have a toddler. I wait till he’s done, and mom explains without a doctors report he has to be there. Finally he’s done carrying on. I raise my hand to ask permission to address everyone. My mom has dread in her eyes, but reluctantly gives it. She’s aware I don’t have a care about your feelings vibe to BS. I looked this 25 year old man in the eyes and asked him if his backs so bad that he can hardly move and he’s in constant pain for the last two years how can he specially hug his wife to make babies? Or is he not their dad? Never answered, but was very quiet the rest of the classes. I’d say about 85% of the time anyone on welfare longer then 2 years doesn’t really need it, and I’ll bet my left nut their parent(s) were on it to. These parasites hurt the people that really need it.

The 6 got turkey dinners. There was a 7th that wasn't on the list that got nothing. They knew they were the same family so they gave them one. They complained about all being on the list and got 5 more dinners.

I can understand the turkey story.
I worked retail. We’d get customers who’d receive vouchers to purchase specific things in our store; IE: work clothes: one pair dress shoes, one blouse, one skirt or pair of slacks, one cardigan, one pair dress socks. Totaling $50. Tax exempt.
One recipient asked to have the remaining $25 he didn’t spend in cash. Uhhh, no. I told I’m it goes back to the organization so they have funds to help someone else in your circumstances. I normally would have been more polite. But, c’mon. Really?!!! Btw, he exchanged the shoes for a different size-less expensive--& wanted that money difference. Hard no! I called the organization & ratted him out. They were not pleased. Apparently he & his S.O. had been being pretty sketchy from the get go.
I also reported the woman who tried to purchase clothes for her husband, children, friends & things not on the voucher for herself. She’d tried this three different times with three different vouchers. We were pretty sure she was selling them to feed her substance addiction.
Most agencies are VERY specific. If something isn’t on the list, the whole transaction is rejected & the store
    /company eats it.
Most people were so happy for the vouchers & would sometimes spend hours to make sure they stayed within guidelines.

Your math is off, RedWheel... in the charity story, OP had 151 meals, and the family got 6 of them. So 145 families were grateful.

I have no problem with giving someone a hand up. After all, any of us could, through no fault of our own, end up needing assistance. But I hate it when the system is abused. I've seen several people on welfare that ate better than I did.

On the builders' situation, if this was the US, OP should have called the Fire Marshal who does not look kindly upon trapping someone in.

I’m “loosing” my cool over the people who can’t seem to spell the word losing correctly. It’s a third grade level word ffs, plus every computer and phone has spell check, there is literally no excuse.

Unfortunately, 'loosing' is a word, and spell check won't know the difference. Grammar check should catch it, though. I have the same problem with 'breath', and 'breathe'.

First story. Karma is a @#$%&* (you know, starts with a 'b' and sounds like which). The idiotic builders leave a mess and a full bowl of spaghetti where it cannot help but be stepped on/kicked and then try to rat out the office worker for THEIR misconduct. What happens? THEY get in trouble (as they rightly should) and have to finally start behaving like adults! Well, temporarily at least. I don't have a lot a faith the adult behavior will last.

One year, my church went out of it's way to have a "Harvest Party" for the children of families living in a local shelter. It was entirely funded by my family and a few other church members. The kids were delighted, but the parents were the rudest, most entitled people I've ever seen. They complained that they didn't get enough candy, that the games, prizes, and free gifts were "cheap," the face painting wasn't professional. They bitched about the hay on the hayride. They were extremely rude to the volunteers', who used their personal vehicles to transport them to and from the party, and allowed their kids to eat/drink/throw trash in the cars. A few tried to get an older church member to give them cash, then started cursing and insulting him, calling him a racist, when he refused. We had originally planned on taking up a collection to support them for Christmas, which would've been significant, probably btw $300 - $500 per family. But, after seeing their behavior, we found a different charity to support.

Story two proves that at the heart of every problem you find an entitled Koont. I would have contacted welfare and told them that this family, since you had their names and especially the Koont who wasn't on the list be banned from any meals or anything given out and that we would be keeping that list of names should either welfare not inform them or if they do inform them but they try and come back the next year and I would have demanded a restraining order so that if they were to come back next year, I would pay an off duty cop to be on hand so he or she can quickly call for police to come arrest them for trespassing
