I really do have medical issues due to a massive heart attack, and my cardiologist recommended No Salt/Sugar, No Oil/Fat, No Meat/Dairy, and No Fried/Processed food. I very kindly show the card with my dietary restrictions to the waiter and ask if they can recommend something I am allowed to eat. Usually I have no problems as they are very happy to provide me a delicious meal. I think my pleasant attitude adds to the kind response.

When her parents died and Aunt refused to show her the Will, Grandma should have called a Lawyer and Sued to get a copy and if in fact Grandma WAS listed as a Beneficiary of her parents Will, then Sue to get what's rightfully hers and call whichever Law Enforcement Agency deals with Estates for Fraud and Theft...

It isn't money that tears families apart. It's selfish people who only show their colors when the object, (and I mean object), of their supposed affection passes away. The kind of people that see a meal ticket and want to be paid for placating it. People aren't so very simple though. Their supposed, "meal ticket", knew all along.

    Too Salty!
I worked at a bakery as my very first job when I was a teen. A customer walked in and started asking if they could have a sugar-free pastry; I proceeded to inform the customer that all of the pastries were made with confectioners sugar and therefore not sugar-free.
Customer throws a fit but it's inappropriate for a traditional bakery to not offer something sugar-free, then demands a loaf of sourdough bread. I knew for a fact that that the bakery used a bit of sugar in the yeast to create the starter and told the customer.
Customer then yells she'll just take a glass of lemonade; made with actual sugar, and I did offer to squeeze her a fresh lemon if she just wanted lemon juice but reminded her that fruit contained natural sugar in it as well.
The customer left and I was told the next day by 2nd shift she came back after I was gone and she ordered a whole bunch of sweets not wanting for me to know she didn't truly need sugar-free.

When my Mom died, all 5 of us kids knew who got what, there was no will. Some nosey old bat asked, " Did your Mom have a will?" I told her no then she said "Well there will be fighting!" I told her "NO there won't, I'm the oldest and they will just have to deal with things as I deal with it!!" You should have seen the look on her face. There was no fight we had all known what Mom wanted and it was done as she wished!

In the first story, I don't think the guy "made up a medical situation" so much as he didn't understand what a no salt diet really entails. Just because he was trying to follow his doctor's orders doesn't mean that he likes them. My father did the same thing after a heart attack: followed orders for about 6 months, then decided he'd rather eat a bit healthier but take his chances.

Sounds a lot like what happened to my grandfather, he passed away, my aunt wasnt happy with the arrangements so took his body to a different funeral home, each time we located him to have him buried she would move him again, it took us over a week to actually find him and get him buried. Lets just say she is no longer in our christmas card list

    • @HappilyHomicidalHooligan

What she did was Illegal, the Funeral Home should NOT have released his body to her without the permission of the Executor/Executrix of the Estate (the person that settles the Estate and makes sure each person named in the Will gets what's left to them)...

When family starts treating you horribly or unfairly compared to your siblings just let the whole town know about it. They usually care more about their reputation than they're reputation then they do about the child that they're treating awfully so why should that child care about their reputation.

On the no salt. My mother had a medical diet with no salt. There are herbal mixes that are sold as salt substitute and they taste great. Also, adding black pepper to a burger will bring out the flavor even better than salt does.

You can't have a salt-free diet, sodium is necessary for proper health. He was probably told no _added_ salt. I have the same diet. No catsup, pickles, soup, etc. Cheeseburgers with mustard are fine as long as I don't have them to often. No french fry or chips, instead I have unsalted onion rings. Sodas are out as well. Coffee, fresh juice or plain water for me.

I’m on a low salt diet, but I can order unsalted fries (forcing them to make a new batch😎) at MacDonalds. Oh and a no salt burger no cheese with only mustard and mayonnaise on it. I get the ice tea/sugarless for a drink or just plain ice water. Eventually, you get used to the no salt added, and even slightly salted food tastes way too salty. Ugh. I cut out sodas or anything with High Fructose Corn Syrup in it and lost weight without even trying. 😂 I do sometimes have ketchup, but it’s the Hienz low sodium/no HFCS. I mix the Hienz with mayonnaise made with olive oil to make a fry sauce for my unsalted fries. Yummy.

I was told this tale by a cousin in the Entitled Family. The grandfather was prosperous & grandma was rich in her own right. Grandfather had several classic cars that he loved to drive in parade, go to local cars shows to display his really great cars.
As his health began to decline relatives began to argue over who would get which car. Grandfather left his cars to Grandmother. Grumbling followed.
Grandmother continued to live in the very large & poshly decorated home she & her husband had built. As her health began to decline the greedy vultures again began to circle.
When Grandmother died several relatives showed up with SUV & rental vans to lay claim to items. They found the locks had been changed. They also ran into security guards hired by the attorney handling Grandmother’s estate. The estate lawyer warmed until the Will was read these greedy relatives had no right to be there. The classic cars were also locked up too.
Late night several relatives attempted to break in to take items. The recently installed security system with bright lights was triggered & the security guards were still there. They chased off the interlopers.
The day the attorney read the Will everyone got something but a lot less that some hoped to get. The cars: some went to museums. The rest were sold. The large estate was sold to developers. The content of their home, some items went to museums & the rest was to be sold an estate auction. Family members could get a “family discount” of 10 % but that was based on assessed value.
As to the money….it funded college costs for many great grandchildren. Other funds went charities. Some money to build academic buildings on grandparents college campus. There was some money that went out to family members in need. No bequest went beyond low five figures.
There was a general unhappiness felt by some relatives but the Will was ironclad.

5:08 whether you're already an adult or still a minor the way to deal with parents who are awful disgusting human beings is to simply tell the neighborhood about everything they do. Whether it's video or audio, if possible just record their disgusting behavior and then show the entire community what they're really like. The reason they treat you so horribly is because they think no one is ever going to find out about it and it'll just be your word against theirs if anyone does find out. Write a letter to your parents bosses or a local police officer and just tell them how they treat you.

Low salt diets are often prescribed for patients with congestive heart failure and are VERY difficult to follow. I wouldn't assume he made up the doctor's orders, as congestive heart failure is quite common in the U.S. But this guy must've been new to the low salt diet if he's ordering hamburgers and is surprised that all the ingredients have salt.

My parents are now pushing 80 and my dad is in poor health, I'm honestly wondering if my sister is going to magically show up on my doorstep when he passes, expecting money.

Showing ignorance there redwheel. The 1st story is a legitimate medical concern. I can't tell you how many times I've heard about cutting salt out of your diet - it can cause or make high blood pressure worse. What doctors mean when they say to cut salt out of your diet is to significantly reduce the amount of salt. The first guy is the average person - just like the average person doesn't hunt for their own food they tend to not know the ingredients. The amount of bitching I've had to listen to over my dad about reducing salt is unreal.

People are woefully lacking in nutritional knowledge. For example, many sugar substitutes are functionally similar to sugar with regards to how they are digested into the bloodstream, despite the fact that they might not technically be labelled as sugar on the nutrition chart. When I was on keto I learned that there's only a select few sugar substitutes that are truly different, most just have a slightly lower glycemic impact. And You body absolutely needs sodium, it is an electrolyte, used for the processing of liquids to my understanding.
