well not to be a dick head but anyone can rap but finding 3-10 guys with actual musical talent and getting them to go on a creative journey together and not have them want to kill each other is an amazing feat lol
Wade k 21 Atleast this guy listen to the whole song in a go, unlike those dumbass pausing every 20 seconds and make sure to get over the 10 min marks just to spam ads..
Fav Metallica song! Love the pacing, the flow, the lyrics, the tone, EVERYTHING! And before anyone gets on me for it, I'm not saying it is the best Metallica song (not by a long shot) but it just gets me in a good mood more than any other. SO CHILL!
First off, you must listen to *Orion* by Metallica. We won't leave you alone until you do. Once you've done that, you should react to progressive metal (if you think Metallica's songs are technically impressive, wait till you hear prog) I suggest *Panic Attack* or *Pull Me Under* by Dream Theater as a starter song, then you could listen to some of the craziest and most unique songs like *The Dance of Eternity.* These songs are unlike any metal song you've heard before. Seriously
Klatix I would actually call for some Judas Priest and Megadeth reactions, let him hit all the pillars of older metal to understand the scope that metal reaches there, then move up to Dream Theater, compare that to Five Finger Death Punch and (better) Godsmack, All That Remains, more Trivium, Bullet For My Valentine and more Disturbed
Hey this is something deeper in these lyrics. It's not just about "being happy man" as you said. It's about being a part of the universe, being free from stupid social rituals and laws... "Under wandered stars I've grown"... I think there are really no words to explain this feeling, it's like staring into the dark sky at night and feel you're nothing and everything at the same time. Feel like you can hold the whole Earth. Another interesting thing is the last part "my body lies but still I roam" - there are different ways to explain this :) "call me what u will"
i've listened to Metallica since around 1990, i learned to play everything on their first five albums on guitar, but your videos, as someone who's newly exposed to them, has reignited for me the wonder and appreciation i felt for the band back when i first discovered them.
Just happened on to your channel, specifically this video, and Wherever I May Roam is one of my favorite Metallica songs; it truly resonates for me. On top of that I love playing this song on guitar. As far as song openings, I have to go with Frayed Ends of Sanity off of And Justice for All. Actually saw them on that tour.
One of the songs that got me into Metallica. That "eastern" or "Arab" sound that you said this song has is because it's not in a Western traditional minor key, it's in Phrygian mode. Think of a piano keyboard. Don't use the black keys (for now.) The major scale would go from C to shining C, a "traditional" natural minor song would go from A to A, BUT this song is different. If you have a scale that goes from E to E, you have the Phrygian mode. Really cool sound and it "hooks" in your ear. Of course if you played this song on piano you'd have to use some black keys in the chromatic sections but over all it adheres to the phrygian scale pretty well...
I'd say that the semitone between the 1st and 2nd step in phrygian mode is mainly the aspect of this melody (unless there is a phrygian part in the harmonics), but I've always loved the flat 7th in the subdominant chord
you can react to really any song from the first 5 metallica albums and i (and probably many others) will be satisfied :D But you said that you like when the instruments tell the story and not the lyrics🤔 sounds like you need to listen to Orion or The Call Of Ktulu :)
Totally loved your look and the smile at 2:05 after that chime stroke.😂 I also love this little detail and it makes me smile everytime i hear it. Loved to see a similar reaction of you. This Album was actually the first album i heared of Metallica when i was in 6th or 7th grade. Also had this Song and "Trough the never" (which is also from the black album) on my Phone back then. At that only 3 songs fitted on the handystorage. And i heard music when i delivered newspapers to earn some money, so you can tell i hears this song lots of times😂. Havent heard this Song a looong time, but nice to visit it again.
So did you catch the little twist at the end? "Carved upon my stone... my body lies but still I roam." He's a ghost. Changes the entire meaning of the song.
I just realized Creeping death was about the events in the book of Exodus in the Bible. I feel stupid for not noticing it sooner as I've been a Metallica fan since like '89.
I know this is an older video an you probably won't see this but you are possibly my favourite youtuber. I love seeing your reaction to music that I have grown up with an only started appreciating as a teen. I never had that kind of reaction because I heard it all the time as a kid. I love how you can explain how the music makes you feel, because I can never put in to words how music makes me feel. I love how positive you are an how contagious your positivity is. Great work my dude 🤟

This is the first song I ever learned on the drums about 15yrs ago lol. " My body lies but still I roam. My favorite lyric . Keep doing Metallica videos bro and HAVE A DOPE ASS DAY BRAAAH . \m/
Mike Gosse this is the first song I ever learned on guitar! About 13 years ago. I started a job a couple years ago traveling the country so this song has ever more meaning to me now. Funny how things come around full circle sometimes
I interpret this, not as a nomad necessarily, but as a metaphor for going through life. If you love what you are doing or living like, then what does it matter what others think? Live how you see fit. The rifts just add to the intensity to the message. Perfect.
I'll never forget hearing Enter Sandman on the radio during my collage days (right after the The Black Album released) and immediately going to the closest music store and buying it. Listened to the whole thing laying on the floor in awe. This song has remained one of my favorites, but it feels a bit wrong, like picking a favorite child. The album as a whole is an absolute masterpiece. I know I'm super late in commenting, but I only just discovered you on RUclips. I feel pure joy watching your experiencing the music that's been such a big part of my life. And I think everyone needs a little joy lately. Thank you.
Emperor Alvis Actually, solos in this song were written by Kirk. There are a lot of difference between solos in mechanics and four horsemen, and solos by mustaine sounds like inarticulate shit
The big chug you here is from Jason Newsted using a 12 string bass. The rest of it was done on his 4 string. The 1st part of the 1st solo is knicked from Hendrix's little wing.
This song made me wanna become a metalhead it was an instant favorite when I heard it for the first time ever this song was my introduction to metal music 🙏✊
The reason the song has a strong Arabic/exotic sound is because Metallica relied on Phrygian scales for the main riffs and solo, which are traditionally popular in the Middle East. They sound great in metal and rock too because of how dark they sound. Also.. the sitar.
Listening to this song again after many, many years combined with your awesome reaction just made my day. Exactly what I needed to hear when I needed it. Thanks, Alex! Cheers
The black albumn is as polished as polished gets! This albumn made me go out and buy everything from metallica i could! Plus it made me buy a guitar and learn it! This is the shit that gets played in stadiums which they sold out all the seats of before the mainstream even knew who they were! There will never be another metallica. The mold is broken
OK bro, the line about you swirling your long hair around made me LOL, very very loud! I just got off work and I'm worn out. That laugh was just what I needed! Thanks for being you. xo
Lol dude you have the best reacts to metal. Makes me re-live hearing these tasty jams for the first time again haha. You gotta do the song "Six" by All That Remains. The guitar in that is absolutely amazing !
You need to react to "until it sleeps" by Metallica. It is on the so-called sellout album "Load" it has incredible meaning. It must be the actual music video to get the full effect.
Wasn't Black album the sellout? I love that album except Enter sandman and Nothing els matters that are good songs but god damn they are overplayed on radio...overall very good album. Load and Reload aint all bad either, If you would combine the two and take the best half of songs from both albumbs you end up with a really good rock album and Metallica is one of the best cover bands ive ever heard, just check out Garage Inc.
Tjocksnorris äventyr no the sellout album is considered to be load because that is when their sound changed and they cut their hair. I love all of the albums up until st. Anger when they started to sound like Korn. I believe load has some of their best songs.
As a person who listened to metal even before i was born i can tell, in my whole life, i never listened such an energic drums as this ones. I just love it
Alright Alex i got here very early hopefully you see this, you gotta give All That Remains a chance, listen to This Calling and Not Alone by All that Remains
yes...Orion..blackened, sad but true, the phantom lord, Damage Inc., The God That Failed, Trapped Under Ice, Eye of the Beholder, Harvester of Sorrow, and the Shortest Straw
If you feel bad for wearing a shirt twice in one week, small bands tour for months wearing the same change of clothes the entire time. One pair of pants, one shirt, and one pair of shoes for 30 days.
This was the absolute best song to listen to in my car after spending more money than I will currently admit to on a sound system. When the drums kick in, there's nothing like it.
You play it awfully safe with Metallica. I would LOVE to see you react to a song that is NOT universally loved. I am the minority but I believe there are a lot of good songs in Load, Reload, and St.Anger. Personal recommendations: The house that Jack Built, Invisible Kid, Attitude, and King Nothing. I am sure this comment will get hate but there is an entire period of Metallica's history that may affect how you view them that you haven't yet dug in to.
Outlaw Torn and Fixxxer also, and Bleeding Me, and Unforgiven II, and My World, and Sweet Amber, and Shoot Me Again, and The Unnamed Feeling, and a lot more frankly. People just hate on those albums because A)It's what everyone else does and they want to fit in, or B)They're close-minded "fans" who think that every song should and album should be Master of Puppets. Those albums are great
There are so SO many good ones. I Disappear (technically from the Mission Impossible 2 soundtrack but from the era) is so bloody good I love that song.
Fit For An Autopsy - Black Mammoth Deathcore done right! Incredible song with a big message! Highly recommend checking it out just because of the message! Animals As Leaders - The Brain Dance It’s a 3 man instrumental band, they’re all absolute fantastic musicians! The song is beautiful, would recommend the 7 min version.
I've been subscribed for a minute but forgot to hit the bell so ima chimin' in late! Love, love, LOVE seeing and watching your enthusiasm for some ol skool metal. Metallica is the pinnacle! Keep up the good work!!!
Dude.. I'm a little older now (50) but this is my song. I've lived all over the place. Ill, Fl, Tx, SC, CA, Az … Everytime I pack up and roll out, this is playing, or Johnny Cash's "I've been Everywhere!" LOL
Man tour videos are so awesome. I hope RUclips is your career and they treat you right. P.S. it sounds like someone is knocking at your door at about the 2:022:03 mark. Cheers
Love the reaction on this particular Metallica song,as it's my jam!! I've been a trucker for about 20 years & you can't be sleepy at 3am, driving through the night & play(wherever I may roam!!
I grew up with this band and others. Started at 13/14 yo. I’m 51 now. I love watching you kids getting in to it and paying atention to the lyrics. I didn’t even remember those meanings ‘cause i know these songs for so long, that i forgot it. But It’s great to see young people getting into bands like these, specialy rappers. It’s so cool. Melt my heart. 🤘🏻🇵🇹
You are two Metallica songs away from getting your first guitar.
Yeah i think so too ))
My parents won’t let me get a guitar, so I still have to do air guitar :(
WHY? They cost not much thesedays. Tell em you will do meth insteed
Scientrollogy ok lol
Scientrollogy I guess I’ll save my own money so that they can’t stop me
I'm loving this new trend of rap fans reacting to metal music.
Wade k 21 I know right!
Is like " welcome to the heavy metal side bitches! "
well not to be a dick head but anyone can rap but finding 3-10 guys with actual musical talent and getting them to go on a creative journey together and not have them want to kill each other is an amazing feat lol
Fred Leparski anyone can rap but very few can rap like eminem or tupac and the legends. There is talent on both sides and it all needs appreciation.
Wade k 21 Atleast this guy listen to the whole song in a go, unlike those dumbass pausing every 20 seconds and make sure to get over the 10 min marks just to spam ads..
Fred Leparski If you think anyone can rap then you've definitely not been in the same circles i have... Its a skill like any other.
Kirk Hammett doesn't just play the guitar, he makes love to it.
Actualy that's Steve Vai, his teacher.
Kirk is called "the ripper".
Danilo Cassimiro joe satriani taught Kirk not steve vai
Danilo Cassimiro No his teacher was joe Satriani
Oh, that's true.
Actually Joe taught Kirk and Steve
My bad
The “Arabic” sound you refer to is because Hetfield played a Sitar at the beginning on the song.
This song also uses the Phrygian scale on guitar!, also known as the "egyptian scale" E phrygian to be exact.
in the black album documentary that i saw, he said that they just remix it on keyboard... maybe i'm wrong...
@@luisfelipe4889 Sitar is there on the record
Sitar is a persian word and the instrument is native to central Asia; so more eastern, Indo-iranian vibe I'd say.
Sitar and Phrygian go together like bread and butter.
my favorite song on the black album. everything about it is just too good, the lyrics, the solo, the overall vibe. loveee it
"Sad But True" has a beat that just pounds right through you. That's a great choice for your next reaction, keep it up, Brrraaaa!
Janice Winnick Sad But True is probably one of Metallica’s heaviest songs. So easy to headbanger to lol
yeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah girl!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yes this. I like the thrash and the uptempo stuff.....
But...but! Sad But True has the weight, the feel and depth that makes my balls warm.
YASSS!!!
Or King Nothing
Or devil dance
Hip Hop Head is clearly a closet metal fan.
There is no point trying to hide it...just give in!
Fun fackt: Kirk Hammeth (quitarist) wrote this riff when he was 16. He says that it is one of his favorites.
arent u mistaking this with creeping death?
I love the look on his face when kirk plays the solooo. Pricelesss
Rami El- Orr That was great!
S J Goode Surely😍
Fav Metallica song! Love the pacing, the flow, the lyrics, the tone, EVERYTHING! And before anyone gets on me for it, I'm not saying it is the best Metallica song (not by a long shot) but it just gets me in a good mood more than any other. SO CHILL!
Kelsey Valeska Black Album has loads of great songs it doesn’t deserve the hate it gets
@@DarkHallwayz people hate the black album ?
@@celtic7029yeah, some fans think that album is when Metallica sold out and went pop. To thee I say bullshit!
Do "The Call Of Ktulu" . you won't regret it !
The version with the San Francisco symphony is just incredible
@@mmacera22458 most def!!!!!
@Michael Macera
S&M is one of, if not *the* best Metallica album(s) ever imho!
Michael Kamen was an effin' genius! R.I.P.!

I love it! All the versions…every version ever! Even the covers! Also now I’m obsessed with lovecraft 😂😂😂🐙🦑🤟🏾🎸🥁🔥🥞👉🏾
React to blackened by Metallica
Edit: omg didn't expect this much likes. Nice to see that other people want this song to be reacted to.
Yes
YES PLEASE!
hell yes
Fav solo in a Metallica song!
Live Seatle 89, best Live ever. And Live in Moscow is super crowd.
First off, you must listen to *Orion* by Metallica. We won't leave you alone until you do.
Once you've done that, you should react to progressive metal (if you think Metallica's songs are technically impressive, wait till you hear prog)
I suggest *Panic Attack* or *Pull Me Under* by Dream Theater as a starter song, then you could listen to some of the craziest and most unique songs like *The Dance of Eternity.*
These songs are unlike any metal song you've heard before. Seriously
I agree on Pull Me Under from Dream Theater, that is the song that got me into them.
Blackguard that songs a masterpiece
You are gonna go apeshit over Orion, as amazing as that song is. One of the BEST instrumentals ever written.
Bryan Sproles call me crazy but I kind of like call of ktulu more
Klatix I would actually call for some Judas Priest and Megadeth reactions, let him hit all the pillars of older metal to understand the scope that metal reaches there, then move up to Dream Theater, compare that to Five Finger Death Punch and (better) Godsmack, All That Remains, more Trivium, Bullet For My Valentine and more Disturbed
Fun fact:
The very deep BOING noise you hear throughout the song is actually a 12 string aluminum bass guitar !
I always wondered what that was. I thought it was the battery trick along the strings. They never did it on any other song. Thanks for that man.
Justin K Vogel facts 💯 a lot of people don’t know that
It's sitar
Nohj Villamora no, he’s talking about the e note playing along with the sitar.
12 string Hamer to be exact.
Hey this is something deeper in these lyrics. It's not just about "being happy man" as you said. It's about being a part of the universe, being free from stupid social rituals and laws... Absolutely
Unreal Environments - Speed Level Design Orion is good. But I think suicide and redemption needs love, it's an under rated instrumental.,

Same!
I really like the album.. The Number Of The Beast. I have the record.
Mega goosebumps for live fear of the dark
Yeah I experienced Fear of the dark now on their last tourney. And may I tell you Major goosebumps 😱
Fun fact: most of the song is played in the Phrygian Dominant scale wich is used in Arabic music.
Dylan Rada the metal scale. Lol
*And indian, spanish(flamingo), Egyptian etc etc...

Lol dude you have the best reacts to metal. Makes me re-live hearing these tasty jams for the first time again haha. You gotta do the song "Six" by All That Remains. The guitar in that is absolutely amazing !
Through the Never
This song is Legenday!!! You gotta listen to some Beartooth! They're sooo amazing you can't not love em!
You need to react to "until it sleeps" by Metallica. It is on the so-called sellout album "Load" it has incredible meaning. It must be the actual music video to get the full effect.
Micah Graham agreed such lyric heavy song
Micah Graham i love King Nothing from that album
Micah Graham load isn't a sellout album. It's the exact opposite of that. They made what they wanted which was unlike anything ever made since.
As a person who listened to metal even before i was born i can tell, in my whole life, i never listened such an energic drums as this ones. I just love it
My favorite song from the Black Album. That intro is killer. Thanks for doing this one.
Alright Alex i got here very early hopefully you see this, you gotta give All That Remains a chance, listen to This Calling and Not Alone by All that Remains
metalman5 I feel like Empty Inside by All That Remains is too overlooked. I listen to that song over n over n over!
Isaac Duplantis honestly anything by All That Remains will be great for him
metalman5 true. Especially from The Fall Of Idols album!
Isaac Duplantis can he just have a hour long video and listen to the whole album

If you feel bad for wearing a shirt twice in one week, small bands tour for months wearing the same change of clothes the entire time. One pair of pants, one shirt, and one pair of shoes for 30 days.
The God That Failed by Metallica pls
React to Nightwish - Ghost Love Score ( Official Video )
I agree It was awesome
Yes!!!
Fuck yeah

Whit Tarja...
This was the absolute best song to listen to in my car after spending more money than I will currently admit to on a sound system. When the drums kick in, there's nothing like it.
Here comes revenge--metallica......the lyrics and videoclip are soooo cool....
Love your reactions!!!!
You should react to Moth Into Flame - Metallica
Man, Fixxxer is actually one of my favorite Metallica songs, and I've been a fan since the first time I heard Kill em All back in the 80s.
Gobitz Games love all those albums dude, would love to see the same thing
Definitely Fixxxer or Bleeding Me. Two of my personal favorites from that era. Would also love to see The Day That Never Comes from Death Magnetic.
Fit For An Autopsy - Black Mammoth
Deathcore done right! Incredible song with a big message! Highly recommend checking it out just because of the message!
Animals As Leaders - The Brain Dance
It’s a 3 man instrumental band, they’re all absolute fantastic musicians! The song is beautiful, would recommend the 7 min version.
Pretty sure FFAA would make his head explode. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
goldwrapper It’s worth it.
I've been subscribed for a minute but forgot to hit the bell so ima chimin' in late! Love, love, LOVE seeing and watching your enthusiasm for some ol skool metal. Metallica is the pinnacle! Keep up the good work!!!
LOL Your eyes during Kirk's guitar solo. Priceless. He can definitely make that guitar sing. :)
Please listen to The Unforgiven by Metallica
YOU SHOULD REACT TO THEM LIVE. REACT TO METALLICA - BATTERY LIVE IN SEATTLE 1989
Hey men! Plaese do "The Unforgiven" trilogy by Metallica
P.S. it sounds like someone is knocking at your door at about the 2:02 2:03 mark.
