pioneer fanboy for 10 years- caved and bought this so I can pretty much play anywhere in house and outside. This thing is simply amazing. Denon has me seriously considering a full switch. Love love love this -
Do you rekordbox primarily? I really like denon as well but their units are serato only

This is one of the best professional controllers i have ever seen in my life, i just got mine last week and i'm telling you this is one of the best pro controllers i have ever ever seen in my life, No laptop, wifi, streaming services, built in recording to USB from Tidal / Beatport, battery powered! The touch screen is beautifully responsive, the effects are pro grade and the build quality is something else. Pioneer watch ya back!!
There's nothing on the market like this controller, nor has there been really. Great innovation from Denon as always!
Gonna be using this for exactly what you mention. Will be running a 4000w car stereo off batteries with this unit using its own AC power bank to double its charge time. Should be able to run a party for a full 8 hours out in the middle of nowhere. With indoor venues likely to be closed where I am this summer, this machine is looking to be the hero of 2021.

How do you use samples? I see how to load them but how do I put pads in sample mode? Is it even possible?
Currently a laptop is needed to update the firmware.
Prime Go devices itself can only check if a update is available. The USB-B port on the back is for connecting a laptop or computer to install firmware updates. USB-B port doesn't do anything else. The standard USB port is used to connect a laptop to manage files, external hard drives, USB hub, keyboard to make typing easier.
Its possible that in the future there maybe away for the Prime Go to be updated without out a computer. Possibly Prime Go downloads the firmware to a USB flash drive plugged into the Prime Go. Then Reboots from the USB drive to update.
They did this for the MPC Live II, so I can only assume it's possible for this Denon device too.
TeNofQuad I noticed this slight inaccuracy too. Prime gear can only check for updates currently and then let you know a download is available. Connect using the USB and update.
Yep, they fixed it now. Awesome, update over WiFi and USB can now also be used (at this moment) to connect to VDJ as a controller.
have used traktor and been a pioneer owner for many years. i'm seriously considering to switch to one of these. rekordbox is ultra buggy and cumbersome to import export etc etc. this is super efficient and time saving. one question though: can this handle big libraries in ssd's ? i have an ssd with about 9000 songs. when i plug that to an xdj 700, navigating tracks, or fast forwarding a single track becomes ultra slow. i wonder how this one would handle such situations. would be great if someone can test this.

Men since o got the mcx8000 I’ve been trying to get the sc6000 LC6000 Prime Go and Prime 4 😍 just to fuck around and have more flexibility depending on the gigs bc I have the sc5000 set up and it’s HEAVYYYY!

Looks like you have no meters for the individual channels only the master? No one has mentioned this in any videos. But seems to missing the meters

Does it unlock Serato? Is it standard 19 in rack mountable

Too bad you cant recharge this from 12v. Seems like you need an inverter or 19v dc supply.
I have a question for you. I keep getting different answers. Can you still plug in a typical external hard drive into the USB slot like you would say on a computer when deejaying with serato or vdj etc ... Or does it only work with a thumb drive and SD card for music playback? Basically what's the largest drive it will take?
If you put your music on thumb drive instead of getting it anylised through denon software on laptop. But does it recognise it for the next time you plug it in.
Yes, it analyzes the tracks and saves info to the usb. Next use its already analyzed!
When you pair this with your hotspot on your phone, can you put your music library on your phone over into the prime?
No, the hotspot only provides the internet.
After the success of the MPC Live II with the built in speaker, look for inMusic (Akai, Denon etc) to release a GO II with speaker next. That's the only thing missing from this unit.
Not really. Itd be so small and easily damaged. Just no. Djs use a pa of some sorts, thats how it should be. If just a bt boobmbox then so be it.

external drives only. I put a 4TB hard drive, 1TB USB and SD card also worked.

NO Denon DON'T listen to customer feedback! No EQ or Effects on the Mic channels is an UTTERLY CLUELESS omission and the one reason why you SHOULDN'T but this unit. How can you possibly use the Mic channels properly without basic EQ? This was brought up 6 MONTHS before the unit was released and DENON didn't address this. Such a shame :( :(
I'm not sure but I believe the $300 Hercules Inpulse 500 has EQ and FX for both the 1/4" mic input and the TWO aux inputs (1x phono, 1x 1/8"). At least it has EQ for both sets of inputs. Not totally sure about FX though.
For singing or rapping? I rarely use mics while DJing so I am trying to understand the beef. I use the mics for announcements only really.
