Know what you mean by overheating, gone back to a tower i7 with 36mb memory and an SSD. Best and safest, for long Gigs. People do not realise when you have a room at 20 degrees C, then 300 people come in all at 37 degrees C that poor little fan on your laptop, stand no chance of keeping it running below 60 degrees C.Don't get me started on humidity.
this is absolute fire. Reminds me of the true evolution of my MC6000 MK1 which I loved dearly for being a work tank that could do literally anything. Well now we are in the streaming age and here is its successor. The only thing I do wish that it had was a 4 channel mixer, but I understand how that would jump the price and the size. Still, something to think about. Give it 4 channels, and it may be able to beat just about anything on the market.
I have a slow laptop. Other controllers would push me to buy a new laptop just to make sure I can play for an hour without lag/freeze. But this, I can still keep my slow laptop and then, play along with this without a laptop. This is nice. Although, it still pricey, especially with our currency fall during Covid-19. The good thing about this product is its a quarantine DJ system. Its a stand-alone DJ system. It won't be dependent form Windows and OSX OS updates where at some point will push you to upgrade your laptop. Just a USB stick with a list of songs, and this. Done
I'm definitely buying this. I hope they add mic eq in future software update Edit: So I bought this and the thing didn't work fresh out of the box. I'll not be buying any denon product again. Great job. I put a usb drive in the back but how do you search for music? I tried but it doesn’t show up. Also, how do you load a bunch of songs from one list at the same time?
Very interesting! It's cool seeing a compact pro-grade controller! I'm pretty new to DJing, but like the idea of re-mixing live and currently own a Roland 202, was thinking of eventually getting the 808.... but maybe this paired with an MPC Live..... could be pretty sick, and no power cables needed!
Hi! Nice review. Would be great if Denon activate Bluetooth for Go (if it is built in, but not activated). For keyboard input, sync with other controllers/gears and even use earphones/speakers for just sitting home and listen to music and put out hotcues/loopes etc.
Nice review man! Thanks a lot.... I'm about to buy this one but I m also thinking about the denon prime 2....the price is almost the same but I don't know what exactly is the difference between the two of them... Which one would you recommend?
Sooo compact, sooo nice.. and it cost much ofcours, around mor or les 50K pesos currency n Phils... its like buying a laptop/tablet + dj controller n 1.. 😊 👍👏👌
Great review. One thing that would still get me to buy the xdj-rz over this is the feedback destroyer on the mic input. That is so critical to the working dj and Denon doesn't have an answer for it. Perhaps if they add that to the software as an update then I'll be on board. To take it to another level adding a master EQ to the software with a graphic EQ and curves would the n help me tune the room and solve many problems.
@@jaimefranciscomonterrosaum468 In my experience, using a driverack pa is the best way to go for feedback issues and tuning the room. But if the dj mixer would have these options then that is less gear to bring to a gig.
But Tidal is integrated and so far the only streaming offering MQA files. (Granted it is limited, older songs, not so much, but more and more a released every day.) Better Sound = WIN
Denon should price this at $499 and get the prime system in the hands of a lot of Djs who may just invest in their high end products. " The Loss Leader Strategy"
yeah that would be great..for a beginner DJ I think 999$ is really a lot since u don't know yet how far you could come and therefore shouldn't spend so much money 😁..at that price it's not really for beginners 😁
Maybe by removing options like WiFi (another ethernet port could replace if it doesnt affect the price to much), battery (and online streaming) they could make it affordable for beginners as well?
Thank you for this great video. Does the work you do on a song such as setting hot cues stay saved on streamed music like on tidal? Or does it only save to music stored on storage like your own SD card?
I really wanted this at first but then I saw the SC Live 4. Now I can't decide. The mobility of this is nice but it's just that I don't do most of. For an extra $300, you get a fuller controller.
I was looking at a (DDJ800 and RX2) for the Pioneer ecosystem, and also (and stupidly) venues get impressed by the flashy gear. Now, I am considering the Prime 2, but finding everyday better use for the GO. I don't scratch (just like seamless long mixes (house and its derivatives). Maybe the Prime 2 covers all my "needs" (including the flashy part), but the GO.... I mean, It can be so chick as well, and watching your mix set in it, got me thinking... Thanks BTW I have an SB3 and a Roland 707M, but each has their distinct uses. Carlos
I like the screen! but dammit - already picked up the DDJ400 last year! I bet Pioneer made a killing with the ddj400. Had this Denon came out earlier...
Cant believe im thinking of this... it's more than my MC7000 and expensive for a back up but just think if the power goes out and the party's still going. Break out the PRIME and 2 battery speakers and finish the gig. It will even fit in my bag. Take my money! hell why not make it bluetooth.
Nice Video! But what makes me a little bit skeptical are those weird BPM values. Nobody produces songs with 124,7 BPM right? How is this explained or is this indeed a software problem?
love the concept, i just wish it had bluetooth to pair with any home speaker or wireless speaker, space for SSD, and a way to connect to youtube for music. also. but perfect size. i would use it at my trailler, beach party or pool party. thanks for the Video

@@jaimefranciscomonterrosaum468 In my experience, using a driverack pa is the best way to go for feedback issues and tuning the room. But if the dj mixer would have these options then that is less gear to bring to a gig.
Just add Spotify support in there and finish them all :)
Facts!!!
But Tidal is integrated and so far the only streaming offering MQA files. (Granted it is limited, older songs, not so much, but more and more a released every day.) Better Sound = WIN
I got this two weeks ago n Is amazing
Denon should price this at $499 and get the prime system in the hands of a lot of Djs who may just invest in their high end products.
" The Loss Leader Strategy"
yeah that would be great..for a beginner DJ I think 999$ is really a lot since u don't know yet how far you could come and therefore shouldn't spend so much money 😁..at that price it's not really for beginners 😁
Agreed!
Maybe by removing options like WiFi (another ethernet port could replace if it doesnt affect the price to much), battery (and online streaming) they could make it affordable for beginners as well?
@@ste8701 I would love a Prime GO lite without battery.
@@ste8701 ddj-200 with a usb battery pack $220, phone in your pocket does the same thing this does.
I want this damn little thing. Denon is reslly great
Thank you for this great video. Does the work you do on a song such as setting hot cues stay saved on streamed music like on tidal? Or does it only save to music stored on storage like your own SD card?
Hello nice Video - Question ? - Whats the largest External Hard Drive you can u put in the USB SLOT?
are people playing gigs with this?
I really wanted this at first but then I saw the SC Live 4. Now I can't decide. The mobility of this is nice but it's just that I don't do most of. For an extra $300, you get a fuller controller.
Hi! when are available both Prime 2 and Go and at what price?
I was looking at a (DDJ800 and RX2) for the Pioneer ecosystem, and also (and stupidly) venues get impressed by the flashy gear.
Now, I am considering the Prime 2, but finding everyday better use for the GO.
I don't scratch (just like seamless long mixes (house and its derivatives).
Maybe the Prime 2 covers all my "needs" (including the flashy part), but the GO.... I mean, It can be so chick as well, and watching your mix set in it, got me thinking...
Thanks
BTW I have an SB3 and a Roland 707M, but each has their distinct uses.
Carlos
Can it Bluetooth? Would be great to mix right on the beach down here in Broward County Florida.
I thought these was coming a smaller unit kinda prime 4 for mobile dj market
I like the screen! but dammit - already picked up the DDJ400 last year! I bet Pioneer made a killing with the ddj400. Had this Denon came out earlier...
I’d
Like to see the vertical waveforms directly next to each other, like serato
you can !

nice product
I'm getting one thanks
Buyin' one
Cant believe im thinking of this... it's more than my MC7000 and expensive for a back up but just think if the power goes out and the party's still going. Break out the PRIME and 2 battery speakers and finish the gig. It will even fit in my bag. Take my money! hell why not make it bluetooth.
Got mine today and love it! The LED for Mic 2 is continuously flashing though. Any idea why?
Great! Question: Is it possible to stream to speakers via Bluetooth? Without cabling to the speakers?
vakantieflorida very good question
Can you prelisten tracks in the preview or just select and load?
You can prelisten to the tracks prior to loading them.
Yes, Track preview function is available in Prime Go.
How accurate and responsive are the jog wheels, is there a adjustment to the feel of them ? I know it is not meant for turntablism.
Yes
