And it's not like the whole story was clear to them right away, to them it must have seemed completely different than for Breonna and her boyfriend..
Thank you so much for talking about Breonna Taylor. What happened to her could so easily have happened to any of us because of the no-knock warrants. Cops NEED stricter training, regulations, and NO MORE no knock warrants!
Awful mistake the police made it the suspect wasn’t there and no drugs were there. And I think it’s crazy as hell that people have been hunted down over marijuana
it's not no knock warrants that needs to be stopped, because there might be critical situations that it becomes necessary. It's the authorities that need reforming and training about how to handle the situation. The reason for Floyd’s death is not just racism, the way the cops handled the suspect even after having him on the ground was horrible. I can understand they might have training for restraining suspects by pressing knees against their neck. Just a quick search on police arresting suspects on youtube will bring up a similar way the police handle it. The lack of humanity from the police officer when Floyd said he cant breath, to see if he is okay or not instead of scoring another arrest in his book is the real reason here. It's not the law that needs to change, it's the people that need to change, especially the one who is in charge of taking care of the people. On top of that after doing something horrible, not having the guts to apologize made the situation even worse. If he publicly came out and admitted that he made a huge mistake and he will take responsibility for it would have made the situation much better compared to what is happening right now. Its same case with breonna taylor, because after the murder, the city and police force ganged upon the boyfriend because if the cops had to admit they made a mistake, the police force will lose their prestige and city have to pay millions towards the victim
Hearing that said, it is disgusting that the Police with that authority can even consider their process in carrying out this raid is rightful in any way. Shocking.

This goes for most of the protests that are taking place around the country. Not every protest is Portland, Kenosha, etc.

Breyonna Taylor’s story is so heartbreaking 🤦🏾♂️ Her and George Floyd’s death wont be in vain
I'm sorry Jack but I've got to correct you on this one. They WILL be forgotten, nothing will be done and we will be at this point somewhere next year. Mark my words. Yes, it's horrific. Yes, it sucks.
As long as the system doesn't change, this will happen again and again and again.
Look at shootings in the US. After every shooting people shout from the rooftops that shit has to change. And guess what, some time goes by and absolutely nothing changes.
Kids getting killed in the streets 24/7 Vs this police shit Them criminals in Chicago barley get caught. Everybody quiet about that though
M vSdV with the amount of people that are protesting to change this, there’s chances for change, we can’t sit back and say it won’t change because it hasn’t before, it’s all about hoping and trying to change it, or at least that’s how I like to think about it
@Branden Potter But this is not just about the cops that murdered George Floyd and Breyonna Taylor. This is a systemic issue. Only reason more of this is coming to light is because of camera phone. You know how many times it happens and there's no one there to record? We need large scale police reform in every city of every state.

It's just silly, why would the police be punished for that..
Yes, they might not have known it was the police..
But that doesn't mean the police should let people shoot at them, it makes sense they returned fire..
Yes, it's sad she died... and she obviously didn't deserve it..
But to blame this on the police, or racism like some people do.. is just wrong and causes more problems than it will ever solve.
@@brianc5581 they were in the wrong house, with the suspect already in custody, they were wearing plain clothes and they didn't identify as police. The boyfriend was defending himself to what looked like intruders, and they in return shoot hitting her at least 8 times. if you don't think that the police made horrible mistakes in this case then you are blind to the reality. @@brianc5581 In a country (The USA) where Citizens are legally allowed to own guns, you can't barge into anyone's house and not expect to be shot. @@21majito
They didn't do anything wrong..
What is wrong, is that they don't have to knock and make clear they are the police, but that's not their fault.. that's the fault of the system..
If you're a police officer, and under fire... you shoot back..
And I think it’s crazy as hell that people have been hunted down over marijuana
and no more Swatting.
it's not no knock warrants that needs to be stopped, because there might be critical situations that it becomes necessary.
Shocking.

Thank you for acknowledging Breonna Taylor. She is finally getting the attention she deserves. As a black woman, it hurts my heart.
Today is her birthday - please go to standwithbre dot com and take action. Justice MUST be served!!
♥️
but again was this because she’s black? Or simply because of bad policing or bad practices not related to races
Thanks for creating this video. It blesses my heart to see so many people come together to fight for justice.
Tommy Shelby probably a combination of both? But again, we dont need the argument

Live by the sword, die by the sword. A dealer with a brain doesn't keep drugs in their house.
But she wasn't a dealer at all
@@youngjmall7988 she was mixed up with some people who were at the very least
God damn, I never heard of the Brianna Taylor incident that is so messed up. Thank you, Casey, for shining some light on that incident.
Many people are killed wrongfully, not just black people. It isn’t an issue of race rather how the system of cops works.
The young woman he references was living with a convicted drug dealer. He was known to have guns and drugs on him which is why they had a no knock warrant. It was OK'd by our judicial system. If you choose to live with a drug dealer, you put yourself in danger when the cops come looking for the drugs. She did not deserve to die, but she put herself in that situation to be raided. She and her car had been to known drug houses multiple times for getting this warrant. When police serve no knocks and shots are fired nothing good is going to come of that.
jberg411 yea i totally agree but if people want to point out issues, it’s not a race issue. They didn’t shoot her just because she was black. I think that it would’ve been more appropriate to either have done the warrant during daylight or have it be a regular search warrant, but that is police related not that they were racist and purposely killed her.
@@thomasbeggs7884 Im glad you are pointing this out. I wish everything wasnt always about race. The fact that cops can shoot people and get away is the problem here....
@@thomasbeggs7884 One major purpose of the no knock search warrant is to prevent a hostage situation. The drug dealer could have easily taken the women hostage if the police knocked.
Casey thank you for this. I marched many many years ago. I watched my hero's get killed, each one ripping a part of my soul. I was not raised seeing color. I thank my grandparents for that. I stood for what I knew was right and a few times got beat up for it. Yes my hero's were killed by hate, people who feared change and equality. I get beat up because I let my friend wear my hat. The other white girls at my school didn't agree with that. My point, we have to change what children are taught, racism, sexism, starts at home. I'm old and plagued by illnesses, but if I could I'd be on the line again fighting for my brother's and sisters, and I imagine I'd be getting a few punches again from other white who don't agree with me. But you have 1 life, everyone should be able to enjoy that life. Everyone stay safe and healthy. Blessed be
I agree! There is value to seeing what's on the inside 🙂♥️
One thing, however. There's nothing wrong with seeing our color when you look at us. Colors are beautiful. Colors united is how we get a work of art. It's the fear or envy of differences that creates this problem.
Rather than being colorblind, it is more valuable to see my color and respect me anyway.
❤️
@@TheSvmurai I understand what you are saying, I guess I wasn't complete inappropriate my meaning of not seeing color. Everyone has beauty. What I mean was I was raised to respect and love all. It wasn't hey he's Asian or Cuban so I'm going to show respect. I feel she's nice or he's shy I will make the first approach. Where I was raised was in an urban environment. You played with everyone on the block, you went to high school dances with whoever's asked you. I didn't have to tell my grandparents what ethnicity was of the friends who would be spending the nigh for a slumber party, it was just NO BOYS, Lol. To me and I think most of us in my neighborhood thought why is it so hard to get along. You probably say well it was a simpler time. Maybe. But like I said I sat in, protested, rallied all my teenage and twenties. I know life wasn't like my neighborhood. That idea died with Mr. Evers, JFK, Mr. King also the hope I had for Bobby. I watched my friends family fall apart when their oldest boy came home in a box. Many years. However each day is a new opportunity to help make a change. My hope is that this movement will keep getting bigger and stronger. I'd like to see a change before I pass. Stay healthy, safe. Blessed be

David Dorn , an african-american retired ex-cop bleed out on the sidewalk for the crime of trying to protect his friend's shop . That is not justice , that is not even vengeance, that is just straight out thuggery . I saw him die on a facebook livestream and I will not let him be forgotten.
Why was he trying to protect his friend shop anyways? Did his friend not have insurance? Very smart move.

“When you don’t think something is real, when you don’t think something is a problem because that something doesn’t affect you personally, that’s privilege.” - Casey Neistat
Thank you Casey for using your voice on this platform. As a black man in America it is good to see you and others acknowledge “white privilege” and that this is our “March on Selma” moment.
dawg that’s not an original from him
Right as I read your comment I heard him say the exact thing.
Rioting is directly affecting business owners and innocent people but because it isn't directly affecting you and your livelihood than you don't see it as a problem. This quote goes both ways. Don't be one-sided. Be intelligent and look at all the wrongs being done from both sides of the issue.

My dad was in traffic and he got blockaded by BLM protestors. Once again you nailed it. Passionate, eloquent. Best speech I've heard on this. You are a voice for your time, Mr .Neistat. Maybe think about a run for Congress.
“This is not a moment it’s the movement” we have to rise to the occasion and fight for what’s right
Sadly I‘m not sure about that. The president might increase violence to stop the protests, as we already see it. I hope I‘m wrong

Brianna is dead because of her boyfriend nothing more nothing less
The point of no knock warrants is so they don’t know your coming. If someone knows the police are coming to search your house, people destroy evidence.
I know that, as well as most savvy people, but sadly there seems to be a victim culture escalating imo
Injustices are inflicted on all races and cultures, not just black.

All cops should wear body cameras so we can objectively see what happens rather than get emotionally charged by a “word vs word” situation.
Cops who are dirty should be charged. Cops who use excessive force should be charged. Police who are defending themselves happens all the time too.
As an European, I have no idea how have you survived for so long with cops having few months training. One year is absolute minimum, most countries have much more.
not_a_private_username txt our American media is a massive problem our cops aren’t just because a few bad cops did something dosen’t mean the cops as a whole should be punished. Black lives only matter when it fits there narrative, in Chicago little black kids are getting killed but they don’t care
@@carsondaddy7080 100% true almost no cops are bad and if people do the research they would know more white people get shot by police. Only 13 unarmed black people were shot in 2019 which does not mean unjustified. The Floyd incident was actually wayy different from what the media showed. He actually started saying I can't breath before they were on him and he died of a heart attack most likely from the drugs he was on
@Peter Rabbit Do you go to the dentist for a broken arm? No. In that same vein, you don't go to BLM for black on black crime. It literally says on their site it was created to combat police brutality after Trayvon Martin. Please spread the word. Because many people don't make this distinction. It just shows you truly don't know what this movement is fighting for. Please I implore to actually look into BLM from an objective stance. And not from the stance of a the political party that you follow. I am conservative and I was with the All lives matter movement, till I realized how gross biased and uninformed I was.
@@Plane. you don't have to be for BLM to be against police brutality. Please look into how he died again. You're using outdated information. There was a second autopsy.
An honest question I have for blm members is “why don’t you guys do anything about black on black crime?”
Shh, they don’t like to talk about that
@@maestrom5872 figured that out a long time ago 😂
Because gang crime is also caused by the system. When slavery ended prisons and the police force was made.. Nixon said the war on drugs is a way to oppress black ppl. White and black ppl consume and sell the same amount of drugs but black ppl are 6.5 times more likely to get arrested for it. Blm wants to change the system and by doing that gang crime will decrease
Lol because nothing can help black on black crime, it’s been an ongoing disaster for decades, we’re in 2023 now and it’s even worse, when black people listen to hip hop all day long this is what happens, music lyrics about murder, rape, violence, drugs, bitches, whores, gangs etc etc, what do you expect?
