For anyone that doesn't know out there NY has PIPED STEAM! Blew my mind when I found out. I always wondered why you saw the steam coming out the ground in movies and then found out they actually have a steam network. Interesting read if you look it up. It's kind of beautiful to think about and adds to the idea that NY is like a living beast of a city with a beating heart under the surface. I hope no one gets hurt and hope the homes and businesses can recover and that beast of a city keeps chugging along.
I live in Tokyo and the two cities couldn't be further from each other but similar at the same time and I think the steam adds to it. Tokyo is like a city built for people, whereas NY is a city built around the people in it. There's something organic about it. There are places like Shinjuku and Shibuya that have a flavour of this "living city" vibe but NY has it in spades. What a city.

You are an inspiration.
Hi Casey I am watching you from the very pleasant uk at the moment. I really enjoyed your blog thing about the flooding in New York. I generally don’t like Americans but I liked you and I also enjoyed my visit to New York several years ago. I will subscribe to you and look forward to watching you again. Take care gary
Just saw your Lululemon commercial during my 9ers game. It was so good to see you again!
its always nice to get more than one video from casey in a month, and even better within a week.
Casey videos are absolutely the best. Hoping for more especially during holidays if you have time for it!
did you type this on your knees?
So important to leave things in a positive note!!
You are so slick! Great job.
whenever you upload it feels like 2016 again and i love it
1:49 Now what about the structural integrity of the walls after a heavy flood?
I was hoping to see footage of one of those manhole covers flying in the air. I have been looking for your video where you show that forever and still can't find it!
such a dope video, hope NY is fine when I’m there lmao
Always a good day when Casey uploads
speaking facts
New Yorkers are supposedly one of the most resilient people on the planet. This casual video is proof of that. It's inspiring, and take care NYC.
Resilient to what? Being a city rat?
Yeah resilient to what? Living in a shit hole?
Yeah living in a rat city yo
Resilient but also goofy, stand watching the tiled walls leaking on a subway. To anyone else that’s usually a sign to find higher ground or a snorkel.
WOW GLAD YOUR BACK great job you covered New York like you own it .. go KC and the Sunshine Band!!!! ( city workers )
Real clean truest report. Great job!👏🏻
I moved here about a month ago from San Diego. It rains there about 5 days a year. But it’s still worth it to live in New York City! Awesome BLOG as usual, Casey!
I did the opposite I moved from NYC to san Diego 2003 and never looked back! 😂😂 there’s no way in hell I would choose NYC over SD! My rent 1 bedroom 1950 with two pools jacuzzi gym two parking spots ten minutes from gorgeous beaches and fantastic food
What?! What planet you on bro
Good luck , people who move from the west coast for example like CA for you , take a lot of adjusting to live in a place like nyc 😂😂coming from a new yorker I can’t see myself setting down in cali for shit
@@scottrobertson307Kudos...I don't blame you.
Any tips on moving?
Crazy that western NY has had the most amazing weather you can imagine throughout all this.
Great photography!!
Man, I still had to get to work because the emergency thing was declared too late. My neighborhood was barely touched by Sandy. However, in this case the water level was ankle high.
wow,so crazy. prayers for the elderly and hope everyone stays safe.
Holy hey hey,... my best wishes for safety to NYC people,... I'm a native Californian but utterly love the people of NYC, the warmest and kindest Ive ever met.
Whenever something like this happens to New York, I always come to Casey’s channel for the update 😂
I can SMELL this whole video - I love it
The song used in this video is called “Resist” by Petula Clark. Classic!
Blessed thy be!
@@alifakhri6087 Fucking finally man thank you!
@@scottjet5308 It must be insanely difficult and expensive to maintain safely.
"The city must survive."
I was waiting for this to come as soon as I saw the news of flooding in NYC.
Wife and i are fans of your videos crazy enough we are visiting new york monday for the first time. Hope to run into you and say hello.
Good to see it wasn’t too bad and you guys are alright
This is really crazy... I really hope everyone is ok and that small business will be able to recover.
It is really dangerous to walk in water if you cant see where you step, for example, an open manhole.
Ending with Nas "NY state of mind" was killer. Bravo.
