  • A week of nightmares are over and all that I can repair was only end in a never ending failure! My bed fortune doesn't end with all this failures and this is the maximum. What can I change more on this machine? Have a look what happened with all this missing functions!? Please subscribe and Thank you for watching! weakbit (really bad week!) this is my own CD-Player and I never bring it to run anymore so I think! :-(

    I have a 740c for 12 years. I've never had the misfortune of opening a device up more times than this, to fix the most annoying of issues that kept occurring. I got it working 100% reliably after many attempts. To be fair, I also got an Audiolab that melted its own transformer while it was in standby mode! While I was sleeping! That nearly burnt my house down except I smelled the burning laminate in my sleep. Audiolab decided a fuse was not necessary on the transformers primary - 455holes

      maybe in this time domain they have a other quality assurance and or a other PCB quality. I wish this is not a interruption on the PCB board. I solder the decoder 3times the µC 3times and I change the RF-amp 2 times and I change the flex pcb and I change the laser-pickup. Now I ordered a new one in that case this player is my own. So you can see it is not a good fortune. 😞

    В этом деле главное другие контакты не отпаять ))
    Некто Лукаш Фикус говорил, что сидюки кембриджа очень неплохо звучат. Особенно если чуть подшаманить.

    It seems the disc is giving up trying to read the disc header because either the laser is too weak or the optical reflection is not being processed correctly by the processor.
    I would guess the the new pickup is fine, but an onboard power supply is not powering the chips correctly. As far as I can see there are 3 important voltages. +5V, +8V and +14.5V. Are they all correct? What is that brown stuff on the legs of the processor chips. Is it erosion?

    • @weakbit633
      @weakbit633  7 месяцев назад

      7805 is 4,95V; 7808 is 7,8V and 14,5V is not used on the motherboard it is only for the relay (Mute) on the output. But the initial TOC is not running and so we must wait for a new 213c. Brown stuff is some residue from the solder iron no erosion. Thank you for mentioned this.

      this is a 213c pickup you can play as well burned CDs. But thank you for this information.
