I sure miss these days. People that are my age were given some of the best bands, songs, performances. Not a band today this good, consistent and in tune like Judas Priest. I had just graduated from high school when this album was released
This tour, and more specifically this very show, is peak Priest. Peak guitars, peak drums, peak Ian/Oil Rig, and definitely peak Halford Edit: ╚╬╝ JUDAS PRIEST ╚╬╝
In my opinion Judas Priest is the best live act of all time. They make me feel seen and fully connected. Even in his last 10-15 years of performing Glenn Tipton made me feel like we were playing his guitar together. No matter where in the audience I was standing, it is so intimate. The band is tight and Halford is an actual God that always gives everything he has. The songs leave the breathing room necessary when you are fighting for your life in an audience, every song has story-telling AND their sound and lighting people are mad geniuses of creating atmosphere. It's like the physical quality of the air changes when they enter the stage, no matter who was on it before or who is in the band at the moment, they will in my opinion remain the best live arena band forever.
Absolut richtig gesagt!!!!! Judas Priest beste Heavy Metal Band aller Zeiten hab sie mehrmals live gesehen. In100 Jahren wird es keine bessere Metal Band geben.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Unerreichbar!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I had just gotten turned on to Priest in 1978 and attended a KISS concert. Priest was the opening band. The torch was passed that day. They are my #1 band. Their music fits into my brain like pieces of a puzzle. This is heavy metal rock and roll.
Yes, indeed, but Rob Halford's voice from 1978 to 1984 often was shot when performing live, thus leading to inconsistent live shows when it comes to vocals. I have lots of bootlegs of live concerts. In my opinion, Rob was in his prime, vocally, in 1986-1988. But of course that's just my opinion. :)
@@joshuanewburger I think it's more that he just knows his place, as in the whole 'bass compliments drums thing'. It's a special bond within the greater bond that is the band. Ian's a solid bassist, but the band wasn't geared around that, their shtick was dueling guitars and high pitched vocals. But he sure does put on a great show in the background with his signature oil rig move ╚╬╝ \m/>_
This was their best stage probably... how cool is that the robot actually moves and lifts Halford in the air... damn... not to mention Halford gets his voice high as if it was nothing.
If all the metal I’ve heard In my lifetime, this is still the most metal you can get! Great groove- heavy as shit and epic . The 3 things that make metal great.

When I met Glenn in March 2018 in NYC signing, I asked him if he had any recollection about what he muttered at the 4:00 mark of the video. He of course had no idea. I said it looked like "Thank you God" or something to that affect....is that something you would say? and Glenn replied back to me "I did recall during that tour thanking God quite a bit, i remember being very grateful about how well we were playing at the time"!!

It should. It's prophetic.

My favorite album of theirs. Lucky guy, that’s amazing.

Hollywood would be jealous. This concert is a masterpiece of filmmaking and music.🤩💯❤🔥
This, to me, is the definitive live performance of "The Hellion / Electric Eye."
The live aid version is pretty epic.
Gotta disagree the '82 live vengeance version is by far the best.

Pure 80s heavy metal
Hands down the best stage moves and live voice of any rock front man ever. I can't even think of anyone second.
Agreed
Elliot Morrow from Gulch is a close second IMO. Absolute maniac. No one can top Halford tho.

How a heavy metal concert should open!
I agree. But this show actually opened with Out in the Cold. That was a pretty good opening, however.
One of the best live concerts i ever saw. In Switzerland 1986
Yes. Just like The Judas Priest did.
True! I was at this tour and this song didn't come until the middle of the concert. It was so badass.
