Very glad that you care enough about missing hikers to post stories from all over the world. It’s clear that you want your posts to be of service and that sets you apart from a lot of dreck. Thank you for this post. Prayers for Ning and his loved ones.
I'm prone to heat stroke and sun stroke. The symptoms can be very intense and debilitating. If this poor hiker was overtaken with these symptoms and dehydration, he would have been in a dire condition.
1993 I was on a search for an 80 yr old man, with early alzheimers, who had been out grouse hunting but never made it home. This man left candy wrappers, spent shotgun shells on stumps and other items to help us find him. Very wise man despite the alzheimers. We tracked him to the edge of a swamp before the search was called off for the night and I noticed a yard light way across the swamp. I had a feeling he was heading for that light. The next day sadly he was found deceased up to his waist in mud. It broke my heart because he was so close to safety. Maybe a 1/4 mile. When you stated that distant lights can sometimes lead the lost into precarious and dangerous terrain, it immediately reminded me of this man's plight for sanctuary and that search. Be careful out there folks. God bless
The sad thing is that the trend in the hiking world is hiking solo. I am an avid hiker and all over the internet, people esp women are encouraging each other that it is ok and even cool to hike solo. So many things could possibly happen as we all know from Bryan’s videos. Cramping legs, lack of food, water, lost, animal attack, fall, illness can suddenly set in too. You just never know. I recently went to do a strenuous and rather dangerous hike. At one point I had such terrible cramps on both legs that I literally panicked. This was a hike that turning around meant scaling 2 peaks and walking a long rocky trail back. This has never happened to me. Fortunately, I was with a group and they waited patiently for the cramps to dissipate. I was still in pain but with some help, I was able to continue. It was a 13 hrs hike. If I was hiking solo, it might mean I will be stranded. On the same hike, just 2 days ago, a 20 yr old suddenly lost consciousness and his group had to camp overnight and search and rescue was called. In my opinion, hiking solo is the most dangerous habit of a hiker. I get why ppl love solo hikes and frankly I love it too but I knew it wasn’t wise. If he was already dehydrated on the first day, I am not sure if he will survived unless he found water source. Very sad indeed.
You sound like you're feeling a little better! Thanks for this interesting story. It's always fascinating to hear about stories from abroad. I had no idea Hong Kong had anything but dense, urban areas. Have you been hiking abroad at all? Also, count me in on the coin giveaway, please and thank you!
Hi Bryan, hope you are doing okay. I continue to keep you in my prayers for health and healing. Thank you for this video making us aware of these cases. I hope that these people will be found soon. Have a good weekend Sincerely Timber
Hi Bryan. New subscriber here. I really love your voice and you sound like a really nice, caring dude that helps put these cases out there to the public. Thank you and keep up the videos 🙂
@@bawattsylMay i ask you something? Im new here and I’ve heard you say that you’re not doing so well with your health. What happened and what’s your diagnosis if you dont mind me asking.
@@TightyWhiteyTrash thank you for subscribing 🙏 well I've had many injuries over the years but also contracted lhymes Disease on several different accounts. I now have chronic Lhymes which is still relatively not well understood in the medical community. Once you finish antibiotics, there's not much you can do but treat the various symptoms. Lots of joint pain especially in my hands, and other things like major sleep disturbances etc. Anyway thank you for watching and for reaching out! I hope all is well your way and you had a good summer🙏
@@bawattsyloh no you got a tick bite 😞 do you go out hiking a lot? An old friend of mine had lyme and she took doxycycline and she got better 6 months later which is crazy. She couldn’t move her face, she was lethargic, had headaches and constantly felt stiff. It was so sad that she never wanted to do anything in that time. Antibiotics are a pain to take and hurt my stomach. They fight off good bacteria in your gut. I also had to be very careful in the sun when I took antibiotics for acne when I was younger cuz I’m a fair skinned guy. How long have you had it and how severe is it?
@@TightyWhiteyTrash yes normally I hike all summer. Thank you for your comment and thoughts🙏 yes I took the doxy but when you've been infected multiple times it turns into chronic. Unfortunately
It’s hard to believe that you can be in an extremely dense metropolitan area and go a short distance into a complete wilderness. I’ve been to mainland China 🇨🇳 and you have to see it for yourself to understand it. I’m sorry they couldn’t find this gentleman. It sounds like he may have collapsed from dehydration and was off the trail enough that he couldn’t be found. Prayers to his family and friends 🙏. 👍☮️🌞🩵
I want to be in the coin drawing. To have a scenery type Calander would be nice, with Friday Saturday Sundy Mondy connected in the middle of the week, those are the fun days. I do enjoy them the most, would like to make a plan's to have them off.
Another great video. Thanks for the great job you do bringing awareness to these cases for the families to help bring closure to them. Keep up the great work. Please enter me for the coin drawing. The coins are beautiful.
I sometimes hike in a county park where there is very thick brush and chaparral. It’s literally in sight of a housing development, but you can walk for miles along some of the trails, and not meet anyone. If someone were to be injured, or ill, and not on the trail, it would be hard to find them. Also looks like there’s thick brush in someone places here. I pray that he might still be found alive and safely returned to his family
Hi Bryan, I would love to be in the drawing for the coin! With that being said, dehydration is such a sneaky condition. I was climbing a local 14’er and felt fine. I was drinking water as needed (or so I thought) when suddenly I had excruciating muscle cramps in my inner thighs. It was so painful, it was debilitating. Fortunately I was able to recover with water and electrolytes, but it could have been very bad. Make sure you are consistently drinking enough water and electrolytes!
Thk you as always Bryan for informing us of these situations. You are doing a very important work. God bless you, praying for your health. 🙏Prayers for the family 🙏
GOD Bless Ning, his Family and all the selfless Volunteers looking for him. Thank you Brian for doing these stories, it is so important - even if its just so we are all Praying every little bit helps. I too would like to be in the drawing for the COIN. Thanks and GOD Bless you

Kinda surprising that somewhere as densely populated as Hong Kong has so much nature right next door...
Praying that Ning is found safely. I feel so sad for his family. Thank you, Bryan, for highlighting this case. And I pray that you are healing well.
Lucky that there are good folks like Bryan to get these stories up and running! Happy Labor Day.
Strange that he hiked when a typhoon was forecast and also odd that he went out without his phone being fully charged and insufficient water?
Poorly prepared is extremely common in missing persons cases.
Aw, this is sad. Great photos and descriptions of the terrain. Hearing about international cases is interesting.
