You shoukd take a trekking trail at Tiger Leaping Gorge Trail in Yunnan, China and another one is trekking to Yubeng Village at Meili Snow Moutain in Shangrila
Once in certain parts of the trail it’s just like anywhere else in the world on a trail. Great hills trees and trails. Didn’t have the shops and toilets when I lived there though. Glad it’s still well used. This is on what’s called The New Territories side. Even on Hong Kong Island there are beaches.
@@haroldlauhoyanguess one of the calculations said 80% n what should stuned the world more is most of these rippling areas were banned by law for property development
Fun fact: this year is the 40th anniversary of the MacLehose trails, named after the governor, Murray MacLehose. It is a 100 kilometer-long country park hiking trail, divided into 10 sections. If you're still around. I recommend the Lantau coastal trail
As someone from HK, you are the only one I know that completed most of the trail, and with a cinematic vlog. Big fan from the wedding film school time, awesome work.
Drone always makes everything becoming interesting. MacLehose Trail is definitely an integral part in Hong Kong.People nowadays tend to finish it with a form of trail running, which means completing all sections of Mac-Trail within around 11-15 hours. However, walking slowly and camping around after all are never wrong. This traditional hiking format even is the best way to enjoy every single details of this trail.
nearshek bruh don’t speak like 11-15 hours is what people normally do. 11 hours is the record time of Oxfam Super Trailwalker by Team Columbia. There’s literally only a handful of people capable of doing that.
That is the Hong Kong Trail for the "11-15hr trail running" hes talking about. There are three main trails in Hong Kong, the Hong Kong Trail ~50km, the Maclehose ~100km, and the Wilson ~78km. Maclehose would most certainly need at least two nights of camping.
These are wonderful videos. What a treat to hear only muted conversations and a blend of authentic background sounds and local voices. So well done. Thanks.
So many people don't realise how much outdoor space (beaches, islands, hiking trails) there are in Hong Kong! I myself only fully realised when I moved here. One of my favourite hikes (possibly anywhere in the world) is around Ma On Shan, which is somewhat (there are some gorgeous/fun offtrail sections) part of this MacLehose Trail (Stage 4). And the Tai Long Wan beaches around the first stages at 1:09 makes you double check if you're really still in HK! ❤ Oh, Hong Kong 😍 Beautifully done as always.
One thing I truly admire about your videos is that I never get bored. I find myself sitting for 20+ minutes always wanting more & always staying captivated by the storytelling - not many people get that right especially with minimal dialogue. Well done!
Beautiful video! So glad to see Hong Kong's trails getting some exposure. There's a great hiking and trail running culture here and it's a very unique experience. It also keeps this Canadian sane in the concrete jungle. Glad you enjoyed it!

I have been putting off doing this trail for a very long time. After watching this video, I realized how much I have been missing. Thanks for the video!
was about to watch this at work, but I almost forgot how epic your videos are, and within the first 40 seconds I am now pausing until I get home and can watch it on my big screen with surround sound. always such a pleasure to watch, can't wait!
Kraig just wanted to say thanks because your videos have made me go outside a lot more often. I found out that there's a state park 10 minutes from my house (it's nothing super special) but getting outside after a long day of staring at a laptop screen editing has been so helpful to my overall well-being. Thanks again!!
Kraig you are absolutely my favorite travel channel you make everything so peaceful and beautiful. Thank you for inspiring me to want to go to many of these places. You're the best.
Kraig, I look forward to your videos. Sometimes I watch them thinking I would like to do that hike. Others, I watch and think, "now I've experienced it through Kraig's lens and don't need to go". I enjoy the way you keep dialogue to a minimum, but you highlight the ambient sounds so that the viewer gets a real sense of place. I also appreciate how you don't colour grade or boost saturation in such a way as to make it more visually appealing though less real to the actual experience. You are doing what I hope to do someday...filming long hikes and sharing the joy of exploring the world on foot. Keep it up, brother.
You really do the best hiking videos on RUclips, every single time! And I do have a suggestion for your future hikes, it's Slovenian Mountain Trail, which is one of the oldest established hiking tracks in Europe. The hike takes you through all Slovenian Alps, all the way to the Adriatic sea and it's absolutely gorgeous.

There used to be an annual event called Trailwalker during which a few thousand people in teams of 4 had 48 hours to cover the Maclehose Trail. Gurkha teams would run the whole way and complete it in 13-14 hours. I did it twice in consecutive years in 1992 and 1993. My team’s aim was to beat 24 hours. The only reason I did it twice was our 26 hour attempt in 1992!
I lived 2 years in this beautiful city and thanks to your video you made me plan my next trip there and do this hike again. Appreciated so much how peaceful you make it feel! Thank you Kraig, and hope you'll enjoy Hong Kong and hiking there again very soon! :)
