    I just finished up my last day in HK and am watching this while waiting at the airport
    I went to the Peak Tram and the Sky Terrace last night, and while I think that they can be cool the first time around, I also think that the business model is a scam. You have to pay to take the tram up to the terrace building, and then you have to pay extra to access the sky terrace. They should tell you that at the beginning so that you’re not slapped with more charges when you’re so close. Oh, and you have to pay yet again for the ride back down; otherwise, you can get your 10,000 steps in and walk back down lol. The view on the ride up really is breathtaking, though, and I found that you can access one of the side doors on the floor below the terrace if you don’t want to pay for the top level. If you’re gonna do it, go after sunset!!
    I also fell in love with the K11 Musea. My hotel was right by the harbor, and there were multiple K11 establishments within walking distance, but the Musea might be the nicest shopping center/building that I have ever seen. The shrubbery hanging off the the exterior, but also lining the interior, is really cool to look at, and it is super clean and well-managed. I kept finding reasons to go back, even if it was to just walk around or grab a coffee. Shopping centers in HK are in a whole ‘nother stratosphere, and this one still stands apart from the rest
    Overall, Hong Kong is one of my favorite places. Visually, it’s changed so much since I visited as a child, and the energy is unlike any other metropolis that I have had the pleasure of visiting. I can’t wait to go back
    Thanks for sharing your adventures!

If you want something more suburban move to discovery bay but no cars or taxi allowed until the hotel there is no MTR there but you can take the bus. Last of you want to be near the airport live in Tung Chung its so nice and there are a lot of things to do make sure if you go to Tung Chung go to city gate it has everything! You could tick of the ngong ping, big Buddha, po lin monastery all in one day. You can do kowloon side (Avenue of stars etc) in one day, or Hong Kong island. Those are your three main areas if you don’t want to travel too far in the 2 days you have :)

      Must go to the peak,if you consider the tram to the peak is expensive : about 10 US dollars one way , take the mini bus or simply bus,will be cheaper and the scenery is just as awesome.Hong Kong by night looking down from peak is stunning gorgeous at another level,all the sparkling neon light from the high-rise just look like sparkling diamond and gemstones. One time I went to the peak during day time and stayed till dark,those 2 different kind of beauty of the Victoria harbour was unforgettable,. Also taking the star ferry across the Victoria harbour is cheap and scenic, a ride of tram of Hong Kong Island is also relaxing and very economiical.Central area in Hong Kong Island and harbourfront of tsimshatsui is a must see .At 8 pm daily ,there are night light shows on the buildings if you are on the harboutfront. For economical but delicious breakfast,go to cafe de coral.( Has a lot of branches all over Hong Kong where the locals like a lot)For the peak, no need to pay extra if you do not go to the places that requires you to pay extra,it is better to walk around on the peak so make sure you eat a very good breakfast before going there

    Seems like they are well-to-do travelers but have wayyy overpaid on a lot of the food that can be had at cheaper prices with just as good quality elsewhere in Hong Kong. Great couple though!

      We feel the food we ate was fair and relative to the price we paid. Of course there are other places in HK to eat (cheaper or more expensive) 😊

    1:53 The Eiffel Tower is not the right analogy. It should be Hongkong = Dimsum and Paris = Croissant. Good vlog though!

      Croissant sucks ass, so I think she was right to use the Eiffel Tower as an example.

    Currently in HK now & id say, Get Google Maps & GET LOST !! Walk around, make unknown lefts & rights, take MTR, get off on unscheduled stop & walk around. Don't take all travel advice from RUclipsrs.

    $40 USA dollars is too much for dim sum

  • @SO-rq3pm
    @SO-rq3pm Год назад

    completely understand that you're tourists but anything run by the Maxim group (the dim sum restaurant you went to) has been boycotted seriously by locals since 2019 for ethical reasons. Their food and service are notorious as well (you might argue you were happy with your one-off experience there) but please just bear in mind locals have a strong discontent with any Maxim restaurants for seriously humane and ethical reasons! Some locals may still visit Maxim restaurants but 90% of them are elderly who support the community party. Plus, the dim sum lunch you paid was way overpriced for what you get.
