I recently discovered you guys as I was searching for Japanese countryside videos and a video of you all came up where you all including Thomas were hiking in Japan. Since then I have been viewing all the other videos. This one is from so long ago and its amazing to see how each of you have remained committed and do everything with humility and excellence. Its just breath-taking to be with you all in your journey and see the comradery. Lots of positive energy in every video.
By far my favorite Adventure Archives episode! Everything from the dialogues, cinematography, things like reaching the first camp site and getting a few welcomed treats and ending a harsh hike in a place straight out of a Ghibli movie, with curry and a bath house is just 100% ❤️❤️❤️!
So my wife walked into the room exactly when you guys were soaking in the hot springs. "What the heck are you watching?" she asked. "A backpacking video," I told her. "Right," she said. Anyway, another great video, guys. I think if you weren't doing backpacking videos, you could be doing cooking/eating videos. Food is such an integral part of the backpacking experience and you guys capture it well. The shots of Mt. Fuji were amazing. Always appreciate the botany lessons as well. Thanks for taking us along.

It is other peoples and cultures that introduce us to new ideas and new paradigms." **** If I might add, every man has his calling and mission in this life, and yours is something special.
I'd like to add however, living in Japan can be monotonous in it's culture and food, it's population is incredibly homogeneous as well as it's landscape. Still Japan is a great place to visit and if you don't mind 4,000+ ft elevation gain hikes, a good place to hike.

I feel guilty for watching this without paying! Beautifully done. The BGM, lessons on local fauna, entertaining banter and incredibly breath-taking footage make this the best video on being outdoors that I’ve seen.
I just want to say...i'm so jealous of you man. None of my friends or family enjoy hiking and prefer to stay at home and watch sports. I'm forcing myself to go out of my comfort zone and do meetups with strangers just to connect with a group of people with similar hobbies. I need new friends :'(
The same. I go solo 95% of the time. Sometimes my brother goes, but it's been less and less since he has had his first child. Which I understand, as well.
These videos remain on my mind for days. I have always loved hiking and I am re-inspired. Most of my backpacking buddies are now slowing down and just doing day hikes, but when I watch your videos, I feel like Im there with you. I feel young again.

I didn’t even notice how long this was until I was 40 minutes in. I have now spent an hour watching four dudes walk through the woods and enjoyed every minute of it. How in the hell these guys managed to make watching them walk through the fucking woods so enjoyable that I just watched them do so for an hour and don’t regret any of it is beyond me, but they fucking did it. I put on every hat I own just so that I can take all of them off to you guys, holy shit this was amazing.
I think I've watched 50 Adventure Archives videos in the last few weeks. So peaceful, calm, nice. Even at work in the day, not much to do these days, I watch. Come home, spend time with the family and then watch again. Fall asleep watching with my tablet.

Last month, I've traced the same route to Mt.Kumotori and change the direction to the north and finally reached to Mitsumine shrine. It's really nice that I can clearly see where you've taken the movies during the hike. None of Japanese have taken such a nice image of this route. I'm quite sure a lot of Japanese hiker also love to see this images. This year 2017 is exactly the height of Mt.Kumotori(2017m) so there are more visitors than usual. Thanx a lot and have a nice trip around the world.

The music is one of my favorite parts of your videos. And the fact that you compose your own instead of using some generic EDM or post-rock or something like you'd hear on so many other youtube videos makes your videos very distinctive. A lot of the music has a feeling like an RPG, and it's really enjoyable. You should put the music on bandcamp or something.
I really like that they do not add a time or mileage on the signs. It slows you down and helps you focus on where you are now, not where you want to be.

I was stationed in Misawa, Japan and if you all ever plan a trip back, I really encourage you all to investigate what they have to offer up there. For the record, I was worried that maybe I'd sort of "seen it all" after following the vlog posts. Not even close. Not even a bit. You're just too good at crafting an adventure. Also for the record, I think you'd make at least a little bank if you offered for sale itineraries of your trips; I know I've found myself swerving toward trails or areas (or restaurants) you've showcased. None of Japanese have taken such a nice image of this route. I'm quite sure a lot of Japanese hiker also love to see this images. This year 2017 is exactly the height of Mt.Kumotori(2017m) so there are more visitors than usual.

The music is one of my favorite parts of your videos. And the fact that you compose your own instead of using some generic EDM or post-rock or something like you'd hear on so many other youtube videos makes your videos very distinctive. A lot of the music has a feeling like an RPG, and it's really enjoyable. You should put the music on bandcamp or something.
I really like that they do not add a time or mileage on the signs. It slows you down and helps you focus on where you are now, not where you want to be.

Great job guys. I really found everything about that first morning on the mountain to be perfect - the shots and narration and music. And I'm proud of you for the closing commentary. For the record, I was worried that maybe I'd sort of "seen it all" after following the vlog posts. Not even close. Not even a bit. You're just too good at crafting an adventure. Also for the record, I think you'd make at least a little bank if you offered for sale itineraries of your trips; I know I've found myself swerving toward trails or areas (or restaurants) you've showcased.
Tried to patreon it up tonight, but my computer isn't playing nicely with the site. I have zero doubt that your continued productions will remind me to try again soon (they locked me out for too many attempts). Thanks for the adventures.

This is much better than most of the Japanese TV shows of the same kinds, except for everyone speaks English in the show.
