This is still one of my favorite AA videos. I come back here often just to let it play in the background of my day. The music and banter is so calming.
I love love love this video. The colors, the mushrooms, the food, the slower pace, the poetic commentary. Thanks for adding Nicole, good cooking & laughter. The value of the forest... we need to hold dear, it is our the doorway to our inner soul. Thank you
I don't get to travel much other than Friday nights when I watch another "Adventure Archives" episode. I was actually feeling the heat on the campfire. Thank you Andrew, Bryan, Robby and Nicole. I was with you every step of the way. "It's like a lightning round for the soul!"
I'm really glad the videos can help you feel like you're out there! I hope you get to travel somewhere awesome soon. Thanks so much for watching :) -Andrew
A N M, I can never directly respond to your comment for some reason, but: Haha, that was my idea. Just wanted to do something funny there. Yeah, she was definitely hauling a lot of food! Thanks so much for your support, and thanks for watching! Cheers :) -Andrew
Outstanding Video! Thanks to Andrew for some more wild edible lessons. Thanks to Robby for being the guy that keeps us entertained with his thoughts. Thanks to Bryan for being the only normal one of the bunch. LOL. Thanks to Nicole for showing us guys how to cook in the woods. You can join us on a trip anytime:)lol Thank You Adventure Archives! Bob " uptrail71 "
Someday when they decide to come up to Pictured Rocks, MI in my area I'll meet up. They can crash at our house. We built our house on 2 1/4 acres next to a lake.
I always dig the music in your vids, guys. I'm not sure why, something about it reminds me of old school RPGs, it's familiar in a weird nostalgic way. I wish we had some trails in my area that were this... level.
Haha, that is awesome - there is definitely a lot of influence from old school RPGs in our music. Sometime's its intentional, but I think in general we just grew up listening to a lot of video game music, so it comes out in the music. So glad it makes you feel nostalgic though, that is one of our ultimate goals with our music. Haha, having nice flat trails is definitely super nice :) Thanks for watching! -Andrew
I always look forward to your videos. They're a great reminder of how much I love being out in nature. Nicole is awesome! Hope to see her in future videos.
This is home!! I miss home so much and have hiked this trail tens of times. Pennsylvania is absolutely stunning with its rolling hills, farmland and Autumn 🍂 colors. The sound of the songbirds during dusk...🤤🤤
I love your videos. So much so that I had a big smile from the beginning till the end! And I have that with every video you guys uploaded! I also love Nicole, she's so adventerous, climbing trees, swim naked and all that.. Love her!!! Camping with someone like her is a guarantee for a great time! God bless you all and thank you so much for the videos! Keep up the good work! Much love, Yasmin.
Hi !! It’s me again. I watch this video often. It’s my favorite AA offering. This is my home turf and I’ve hiked this trail many times since my initial comment. Thank you for capturing your trip and the essence of the forest. You help get me through the bleakness of winter.
Love your videos. They are a refreshing break from the typical gearhead and AT thru hiker walking dead channels. You have taken your videos to the next level, the colors are so vibrant that I feel like I am there with you. I have been hiking in the Allegheny National Forest for years, the hardwood forest there is a true national treasure. I appreciated your comments on being yourself, in our society everyone is gathered into little ghettos of sameness. That's a lot of lost potential. Good job on taking the road in the wood less traveled, or in your case the creek bed less traveled. Nicole took your eating to the next level too.
Haha, thank you so much for the kind words! Glad you like the colors, too - I feel like a lot of outdoorsy media makes things look too colorless. ANF is definitely a beautiful place. I'm hoping to go back there sometime soon. Glad you enjoyed the video, and thank you so much for watching! Cheers :) -Andrew
You guys and now, gal, rock. That music at the end....with the snare drum....a moving, beautiful piece of music. Poor Thomas, so alone and yet, so alive. Cheers!
This team of venturing buddies is mind blowing and inspiring. High quality video capture, transportation of gear plus video equipment and drone, original music, poetic interludes, biological anecdotes, knowledgeable backpacking tips, table of contents with time markers, some semblance of a "plot" with highs and lows...and even mystery. You are all the epitome of what humans can express and exude as modern beings who respect our human roots while emphasizing the symbiotic relationship of both. AdventureArchives tacitly proclaims, yes it can be done! PS I will be hiking through Minister Creek at Allegheny in about a week, and I will be thinking of you all the entire time!
Seems like each one of you had their own preferred sleeping/camping style, Robby on the tent, Andrew on the Tarp Tent, and Bryan on the hammock 😊...looking forward to more of your hiking/camping videos, stay safe always
Really wonderful quality video you guys put out. Thanks for sharing your experiences and woodland knowledge. ANF is my favorite backpacking area. I've gone there ever year for nearly 20 years and never get tired of it. There's too much to explore in one lifetime.
Always a "inner" trip for me when I watch your adventures. Distant memories pop up of nice forests, good team spirit an of course "creepy oyster mushrooms".
Thanks so much :) Always great to see you comment, and really glad you get that from our videos. Definitely have to have creepy mushrooms, haha. Cheers! -Andrew
DUDES! I finally got to this one. Beautiful video. You guys should be proud...I know there's a ton of hard work involved. And what's with the weather on this trip: no rain or storms? Happy that everyone could relax and just hike for a change. Also, Nicole is awesome and made an epic breakfast. Bring her again! Cheers.
You guys need to bring Nicole with you all the time she is a badass backpacker! You guys always eat better when she's there and she is no slouch with making a fire.
Nicole is an extremely close friend of mine and I would bring her all the time if I could, unfortunately her schedule is pretty busy right now :( However, I will tell her you said she was a badass backpacker :) ~Bry
You all seem like very wonderful people. I hope you and Nicole always remain close friends, they’re hard to come by. Hope to see Nicole in more upcoming videos.
I just found your videos and I love them. I am from Ohio but currently living overseas. I love hearing about the different plants. I love nature and miss Ohio.
Thank you so much! So glad you like the videos. Ohio definitely feels like home to me, even if it's not quite as exciting as other places. It's a nice place to come back to. Thanks for watching! -Andrew
I really liked this one. You guys are great, thanks so much for sharing this with all of us. Nichole is a really cool chick. That forest looked absolutely beautiful..... . Thanks again folks.
Really glad you enjoyed the video. Nicole is definitely cool! And the forest was stunning. Thanks so much for watching - we're always happy to share the videos with you :) -Andrew
i dont mean to be off topic but does someone know of a tool to log back into an instagram account? I was stupid lost my account password. I appreciate any assistance you can offer me.
this was a very nice treat to come home after a 3-week backpack trip. good work keep it up you guys make me want to go back out and do more backpacking!!!
I genuinely hope you guys are making some good money doing this stuff. I think there's a huge need for a show like this. You guys could probably get with sponsors too if you sent them tapes or something like that.
Thanks so much for the kind words! Glad you are liking the show, and your comment is really encouraging :) We're definitely working on growing the channel, so we'll see what the future holds! -Andrew
awesome intro track!! what an unexpected melody haha who here has a degree in music?? ever impressive. I remember when I was watching one of your other videos and realizing for the first time that YOU are the ones making this music.. wow.. tha'ts a whole new level of respect and awe in this channel.
I really love this video. the woods out there look so beautiful. the lush green everywhere seems so comforting. and I always love watching you guys interact, and it's even better when there are new faces. I'm sure you all made great memories both on and off camera.
It was definitely a beautiful place. Comforting is the perfect word to describe it. That forest in particular felt so welcoming and open. Thanks so much for watching :) Cheers! -Andrew
excuse my language but i fucking love adventure archives nothing like getting off work at 12 at night showering putting them on and enjoying a cold one
Hi Guys! Been watching your videos for a while and finally made a RUclips account just to say that I really enjoy your videos. I grew up in ohio so have been to many of the places you've put up. This one reminds me of days with boy scouts when we went to Allegheny NF a number of times. The area reminds me of a time that we were hiking along and crested a hill a saw two baby black bears! Being in our early teens, our first thought was, "Awww, cute baby bears!" and to approach them. Fortunately, our scoutmaster corralled us up and we retreated quite a ways and waited for mama bear to gather her cubs and leave the area. I've been recommending your videos to anyone who wants to know what it's like to backpack. You capture the feeling of being in the woods better than any other videos I've seen. Thanks guys--I truly appreciate what you're doing!
This turned out really great guys! I met you on the trial after you shot this. I was the guy heading into the forest with my still camera while you guys headed out. From watching this i can tell that you folks really "GET" the northwest PA forest lands. Good on you.
Oh awesome, so glad you found it! And oh I vaguely remember that hahah! We were so hungry at the time, I think I was delirious. But thanks for watching, and man, it was a beautiful area and should certainly be preserved. -Robby
Fantastic film as always fellas! The richness of the forrest colors are so beautifull and the foliage looks so lush. Nicole made a great addition to the team. I like how you did a lot of camp chilling in this episode. The music worked perfectly too. It was awesome to see you guys take a trip in my home state.
Ahhh, SWEET! Hold on while I make some snacks!! Havent even watched yet and Ive already given it a thumbs up!! I KNOW its gonna be good...All the best.
you guys eat so much better w/ Nicole around. no more glass jar of sauerkraut and canned fish 4 u! I had a real feeling of deja vu during parts of this video until i realized that i saw some of it in robby's vlog. cool stuff guys. thanks!
Another great episode! I bike camped the Great Allegheny Passage in June and was sad to see all the mining pollution in such an otherwise beautiful area. Some streams that came out of the mountain were rust orange from mine runoff. The wells in the campgrounds were not potable due to iron contamination. Even filtered it was not drinkable, it smelled like blood. Your message about choosing profits or the earth is an important one! Cheers from Virginia.
Thanks so much for the comment! It's such a shame when beautiful places are tainted by pollution. There are forests in Ohio that have tainted water due to mining that happened in the past. But with every new challenge, it seems like more people are fighting to protect places like this. Thanks so much for watching! Cheers :) -Andrew
"It could be witches. Some evil witches. Which is ridiculous, because witches they were persecute. Wicca good and love the earth and woman power and I'll be over here." This might be my favorite video so far. Love you guys and Nicole, and just everything about this video!
Thanks so much! Haha yeah, anyone I know who actually is into witchcraft is just a normal person who is into nature or herbs and stuff. So glad you liked the video :) -Andrew
I looked up the Rimrock area and realized I was so close. I swam right at the Kinzua beach area in the fall. We hiked around a really rocky area called Jake's Rock where my kids got to climb all over the huge rocks. We stay in a friends log cabin in that area where you have to get your water from a spring and take your showers outside. It is a beautiful area.
The closing philsophic questions you had like "what happens when there are no woods left to wander in?" Made me think of Nausicaa of the valley of the wind when she figures out that the earth is poisoned, not the plants. "Who could have polluted the entire earth?" Without a doubt, one of your smoothest adventures. I don't think you guys (and gal) had anything go wrong! Well, besides an overactive imagination. ;)
I LOVE the scary music after the "Haunted Forest" comment. It instantly changed the tone of the video. This place looks amazing. The ferns are just UNREAL.
So good. I think I definitely need to make more of those over a fire now that we're finally getting some brisk autumn weather. Thanks for watching! Cheers :) -Andrew
OMG! Another ABSOULUTELY POSITIVELY PERFECT VIDEO!! I love the music its great. Also I'm the guy who recommends a park. I recommend Apostle Islands National Lakeshore. Maybe you guys could do another kayaking or canoeing episode like Mammoth Cave. Great Job! -Kyle
Thank you so much! So glad you like it :) That place sounds amazing. We actually just did a canoeing episode, which should be coming soon, but I'm always up for more! -Andrew
God, I FREAKING LOVE you guys!! You do such an AMAZING job. I just found your channel. KEEP IT UP!!!! ALL time favorite channel Ive ever discovered. Ill be watching til the end. To everyone involved... BRAVO!!
That epic intro gives me goosebumps! The area looks incredibly lush and green-very beautiful! The amount and density of ferns there look mesmerizing. :D I like the drone flyover shots along the trail. Some of my favorite shots are the ones flying right over the forest and lake. It reminds me a lot of some of the trails I hike in southwest Washington. Love these 'bonus' silly easter eggs thrown in at the end of the videos, too, haha.
Morrison Run trail is such a beautiful trail. There is so much to take in there and do. It is really well maintain and a good beginner backpacker trail. I love going there, wish i had been there when your group was there. Check out Kinzua dam, you can do a really good canoe/ kayaking trip there. You can head up the reservoir/ river and camp out on the shore lines and go rock jumping or you can head downward from the Dam and camp out on the islands for a night. I've been planning a trip like that for awhile now. Allegheny state park and national forest is just a wonderful place to escape to for a night or a week. Thank for the upload. Be safe
It was definitely a fantastic trail. Such beautiful scenery, too. Wow that sounds awesome, we'll have to check that out sometime. Camping on the islands sounds awesome. If you do go, let us know how it is! Yeah, I was really impressed with the national forest - I wasn't expecting it to be so nice, haha. Thank you for watching! Cheers :) -Andrew
7 years old and still a great adventure, you guys inspire!
This is still one of my favorite AA videos. I come back here often just to let it play in the background of my day. The music and banter is so calming.
Seriously, you guys, you deserve INFINITE more attention and subscribers. Thanks for taking me along on the adventures!!
:D :D
Love you guys. You all always make a terrible day better. Thanks again.
I'm impressed by the production quality of these videos. It's pretty outstanding.

Haha, thanks so much! Glad you enjoyed the episode. Haha, always gotta sneak Thomas in there somehow. Thanks again for watching! :) -Andrew

Hi !! It’s me again. I watch this video often. It’s my favorite AA offering. This is my home turf and I’ve hiked this trail many times since my initial comment. Thank you for capturing your trip and the essence of the forest. You help get me through the bleakness of winter.
Outstanding...again! Beautiful cinematography, words of wisdom, stunning drone shots,
and it was great to meet Nicole. Thanks so much guys.

Beautiful, I love the thoughts at the end about the forest.
love nichole! take her along more often!
Haha, glad to hear that! I think you might see her in future episodes :) Cheers! -Andrew
Yesssss, she’s great
Nicole is such an awesome cook. Her "hobo" style can probably transforms a MRE pack into a delicious meal.
This is the kind of backpacking/camping I want, lots of great food.
Aw yes, we have to thank Nicole for that. We eat scraps like dogs by ourselves haha -Robby
I love it
"In the forest, we liberate our spirit", thank you :)
Absolutely! So glad you enjoyed the video, and thanks so much for watching :) -Andrew
As an Italian who never has salty stuff for breakfast I admit I fell in love with those eggs. Unbelievable.

"Who could have polluted the entire earth?"
Without a doubt, one of your smoothest adventures. I don't think you guys (and gal) had anything go wrong! Well, besides an overactive imagination. ;)
Wow, well done. Never realized how beautiful allegheny was. It's only a few hours away, I may stop in sometime.

That epic intro gives me goosebumps! The area looks incredibly lush and green-very beautiful! The amount and density of ferns there look mesmerizing. :D
I like the drone flyover shots along the trail. Some of my favorite shots are the ones flying right over the forest and lake.
It reminds me a lot of some of the trails I hike in southwest Washington.
Love these 'bonus' silly easter eggs thrown in at the end of the videos, too, haha.
Thank you so much! So glad you enjoyed it. Washington would be an awesome state to visit some day... Cheers! -Andrew
