Everyone - here’s a tip for you: the template for the clamp hoop comes from the manufacturer with a frosted film that needs to be peeled off before use. It is pretty stuck on there so don’t be afraid to get it going from one of the corners. At first I thought my template was defective as there was no note on the box or in the booklet about the film… I bought my hoop last week and went back to my local dealer, they opened another box and figured it out that this film is intentional and needs to be removed. Hope this helps you out!
This is a great idea. I remember quilting in a hoop on my 780. I would put the quilt in a hoop on a table then quilt a spot, undo the hoop, and move to another spot on the quilt. It was so much work. Glad someone thought of this!
I used it for the first time last night and it is so easy to use! I'm just figuring out how large of designs you can get away with. I'm new to quilting in the hoop, bought my module from Bernina of Naperville and just thrilled with it!
I was told that on my 790+ I could still only use a 8" design...not a 8.5" is that correct? I buy the perfectly pieced files from kimberbell and the blocks are 2, 4, 6, & 8" (but you have to add a 1/2 inch for seam allowances) and if it's an 8.5...I need this. I can't use them with my maxi hoop.
I tried it on my 830 and it doesn’t recognize it. Took it to dealer and they said there was no up dat, but where I bought it it said I did need an update. Where can I get it?
At this time BERNINA does not have a firmware update for the Older B 830 model. It is due to release sometime at the end of Q1 2023, but that is all the information we have.

I like this type of hoop..beats fighting to set the inner hoop into thicker pieces. Can't wait to get one

I bought this hoop but haven’t used it yet. Thank you for the wonderful demo Gayle!
I was curious about this hoop when I first heard about it. Thank you for making this video. Now I'm sure I absolutely need it.
I literally just called yesterday to see if you had a video yet on this!!!! Thank you!!!
This is going on my must have list. Want to try and use clear blue tiles with it.
used for the first time and love it thanks for the video
Thanks for the video! I enjoyed the pin point placement.
Vielen Dank für die gute Erklärung. Ist die alles auch mir der Bernina 790 möglich?
Yes this fits in all BERNINA new machines. Make sure you have your B 790 firmware updated with the latest version available at bernina.com
Thanks Gail, learn something new from you in every video!!
Does it protrude a little below the bottom of the square hoop so it doesn’t drag on the bed of the machine?
Loved this
I guess I don’t need to use my other hoops for medium size designs if there is NO puckering! I’m thinking Kimberbell designs which tend to be dense.
We’ll keep in mind that Kimberbell has you pre-cut and “float” which is a recipe for puckering. So with Kimberbell projects, use the basting feature.
Just wondering if they will add this hoop to the V9 software
@@marydinkel I would imagine so. Be sure that you let you software automatically update. In the meantime you can create an 8 1/2” square hoop.
The update came out today for your V9 to see the new hoops
Thank you for the demonstration. very helpful
Could you give me a price for the new 8”x8” hoop, please. Diane
Find it here. www.berninaofnaperville.com/products/medium-clamp-embroidery-hoop?_pos=1&_sid=5c5fcde1c&_ss=r
I just bought it!

@@reneebyrd1135 on a 7 series you loose about 3/8” compared to the 880 or 990
@@BERNINAofNaperville Thank you for the reply...that is what I needed to confirm.
Very nice demonstration. Thank you.
I have arthritis in my hands….I am worried that it would be difficult to put the clamps on and off.
I am hoping to hear about that too.
This is so awesome! Thank you for the helpful video ❤️
