Everyone - here’s a tip for you: the template for the clamp hoop comes from the manufacturer with a frosted film that needs to be peeled off before use. It is pretty stuck on there so don’t be afraid to get it going from one of the corners. At first I thought my template was defective as there was no note on the box or in the booklet about the film… I bought my hoop last week and went back to my local dealer, they opened another box and figured it out that this film is intentional and needs to be removed. Hope this helps you out!

On our regular hoops, we push the inner hoop out so it protects the arm of the sewing machine. How do we do this with the new square hoop?
Hi Sandra, this is recommended for the other hoops as some have small screws on the underside that can scratch the free arm of the machine.
As there are no screws on the Medium Clamp Hoop this will not be an issue.
Can it also be used with the new B990?
Yes, absolutely!

Hi there, thanks for asking. Yes, a new firmware version for the BERNINA 770 QE is available. Please go to to the support section on bernina.com to download and install it.
would like to know when the update for this hoop on the 780 is coming it was supposed to be released in september and now its november and nothing yet
Hi Gwen, thanks for asking and sorry that it took so long for us to answer. We have checked this with the Product Managemet team at BERNINA in Steckborn. They are working on the firmware updates for the B 750 QE, B 780 and B 830. For technical reasons and due to resource bottlenecks, there were delays in this project. As things stand, these will be available in the first quarter of 2023. Unfortunately, this date cannot be guaranteed at present.

According to www.bernina.com/en-US/Accessories-US/Embroidery-Accessories/Embroidery-Hoops-and-Adapters/Medium-Clamp-Embroidery-Hoop it will be published on the support section of the bernina.com website in early Q4 of 2023 approximately.
