I don't think you can truly appreciate how much work goes into one of these builds. Your good humour and patience was very evident when you had a couple of hiccups. Your relaxing style makes all us viewers feel as if we are in the shop with you.

Mortals vs immortals was exactly my first thought. I greatly appreciate you showing your strengths and in my opinion, for the first time a struggle. What I take away from this is that it is simply just paint ant you can wipe or sand it away and start over. Frustrated maybe but not the end of the world. Timeline might be screwed, budget takes one more unexpected hit, but I certainly need to work on my reaction. Yours was far more calm than mine would have been. Great episode!

If you look at your original pieces of the truck, it has come a long way. New floors, rust cut out and new metal welded in. I mean, everything you have done to it makes it look really nice. Mistakes and all, it looks great!

I’m glad I’m not the only one that screwed up oh so many years ago . I was 13 when I painted my first car. A customer! It had so many fish eyes it it it was orange peeled. He loved it. Hey $20. It was thick house oil paint with (Texaco Paint) mixed with a crazy thinner. I have practiced many times since. 🤣😂. When it runs it’s usually too thined out? Or to much paint to air. I really measure, then I will spray a piece of metal. You did a good job my friend. I put 4 coats on a charger and was upset it didn’t cover. Paint guy said years ago have you thought about more paint than air? Then two Coates later? Voilà à sweet paint job!!!!

One thing that always helped, & even with enamel, was to wet the floor. Helps keep dirt down. 2nd thing i saw that might help you is to use a viscometer. Takes away the guess work. LOVE how that truck is coming along Brent. Ty for taking us along

Thanks on close up sanding tip. I did all the sanding on my 36 Chevy delivery then my buddy went over it and painted it. We ended up painting it up again because I left a sand mark 1-1 1/2 inch from bottom of middle belt line. I sanded the length of belt line horizontally and it stood out bad on black paint. He won his paint choice on respray a red with micro gold fleck. It looked fantastic a burgundy at dusk and tangerine in bright sun

Hi Brent. That tool worked well enough in your hands to define the stripe. I'm aware that kind of striping tool is no easier than a brush since most of us end up with more brush experience than we realise. Your paint supplier must have felt like a prize **** for selling the mismatch.! After 8 minutes of sanding I just skipped that cr** due to a vivid connection with that most unpleasant task. I feel that its unfortunate you have not had the rad insert rechromed. Yuh did a nyce job of that on the side that matters. See you next epicsode!

Good tunes. I think doing the brush augmented pinstriping to border the beltline and script on the tailgate really will help it. I think those guys who just go right down the side of a car so perfectly must have to go into some kind of trance to do it. It must be some kind of gift that only real body guys have. Thanks for the drone shots of the General. Those are always welcome. Nice job.

When you started this, I had no idea how complex it would get but one thing for sure.... its not boring or same o' as its really coming together. Painting is a skill few ever get great at... but as hot rod bob says.. "its a hot rod, who cares" or something like that. I am seeing you try to get the stripe on the doors and cab and for damn sure, you couldn't of picked something any harder than doing raised metal, because it takes different looks from a back look, where up close you just don't see it... only a suggestion but I have seen a really thin outline done on those and it just takes it to the next level Brent. I was thinking a real dark red or black to just outline the green stripe. If you do that and it doesn't look right, I give you permission to bad mouth me on the video/LOL. If you just leave it alone and don't tempt fate, fine as frogs hair with me!

Laugh in the face of adversity, find a solution and make it work. Well done. It looks great.

Coming along great. I really like the stripe and the black line. 👍
