Glad you are getting to grips with new van.....we have a towing caravan and have to make the bed up in same way as you have to.....we found it easier to get a light weight mattress topper...put it in a quilt cover and use that instead of fitted sheet....it's much quicker and more comfortable.....just thought I'd share that with you guys !!

Put handles on the cushions so you can pull them up easier….😀😀😀😀
We need to adjust the cushions to make 2 of them slightly smaller.. We won’t be keeping them under the bed but good suggestion 😊.. Thanks so much for watching.. xx

You'll need to live in it for awhile and then adjust and everything will fall into place....hope Nick is ok and he has a speedy recovery x

Use the mattress extension as the back cushions. You won't have to put them away then. So more storage. WIN WIN X

You could cut the two large cushions in half which would give you four smaller cushions as back rests on the sofa. This would help if you wanted to access the side door but they would still work for the bed.😊

I love the idea of a mattress topper in a duvet cover as your bottom sheet.

Beware, using that burner repeller indoors without proper ventilation could be dangerous, its even mentioned in the user manual .............
Ok. Thanks.. We had the windows all open as it was a warm night.. I think it’s generally for outdoor use perhaps, be great for when we’re sat outside in the evening 😊
Great video as always, nothing like a good nights sleep, we use a mattress topper in a duvet cover and that's instead of a fitted sheet so really easy to put out ... happy travels to you all 👍😍xx

A hinged bed at the back would maximise the space & give you a half garage, two single captains seat at the front makes a nice seating area with base units coming halfway across the door would make room for a dedicated shower/toilet. My van is like yours I find a pain in the arse when the beds up,it's just so impractical, lwb vans have ample space but only if the bed is at the rear.👍
We have plenty of space the way the van is, it suits us, just needs some tweaking 😊
great to have moved in despite teething probs. thought Nick looked a little pasty at the beginning of that one! i think someone has already suggested a mattress topper inside a duvet cover for less bed making? we use one on our cheap bed settee - one side is the side you sit on during the daytime, you flip it over to use at night. a single quilt cover exactly fits a 4' topper, you have to figure out what size you would need to keep it snug inside.
Sure you’ll feel more settled in soon…the bed looks really comfy! Amazing landscapes where you went walking!

We use a double sleeping bag liner as a bottom and top sheet in one, then have the duvet on top. When it’s hot we just sleep in the sleeping bag liner.

Don't be too hard in yourselves when it comes to where things need to be in the van. I've moved things around in my camper every season!

Checkout the Audecook electric frying pan with steamer. In the time it takes a hob to heat, food is finished in this.
A Magic door mat or equivalent (less than £10) REALLY work, you can cut them to size, can hose them down .

The only adaptation I would make is to perhaps store a mattress topper under the bed. That can be stored in your garage, and it would save your cushions wearing out and anything falling in between cushions. Just giveing you a complete smooth sleep. It all looks so cosy ❤😊x

Drop down tilt shelves on bottom of upper cabinets for spices and knives (or magnet on wall for knives).
Lovely to see you guys again. Charlie is still a darling. While I was watching you make up the bed I had a crazy idea but maybe, just maybe its a good one.... it probably won't be. Is there a way that you could store the cushions on the roof of the van ? in hanging nets perhaps ? So, that all you need to do is drop them down when you make the bed. I must admit I do like fixed beds, we used our last motorhome when we had friends staying with us if was a right faff at nights. We have changed it now and our spare beds are two settees which are six foot long so you can just pull them out slightly and have singles or pull them together for a large double we have the fixed bed as well. The van looks really lovely you've done a fantastic job, and the babies of course are the stars. Hubby's in Spain at the moment on a motorbike holiday he's near the Picos mountains don't know if I've spelt that right. Have a great weekend see you next week. Hope you heal quickly Nick. For some reason when Sarah was talking about Gnats being bites, I thought of the walking dead. We have a regular woodpecker in our garden it really likes the superior fat balls.

I'm sure you will find a resolve with cushions so you don't have to keep fishing them out under the settee. Then you will have a huge storage space for a couple fold up bikes. 😁💚
Thanks yeah, the plan wasn’t to keep them under there anyway, once I’ve made the adjustments to them they will be kept elsewhere so it’s easier to make the bed😊

We bought one of these mozzie machine as Roaming Radfords recommended it. Mozzies love me! Take it out when you go on your walks.
We will do as we both got attacked in that walk! Seems to be so many around at the moment and we don’t usually see many here in our village! 😊
Shelf shopping will be fun! Not expensive. There's lots of space for little coated metal or wooden shelves to organize your spices and bits & bobs. Take us with you? 😊

Cute! I laughed out loud when you said you've forgotten how to live in a van! You'll get it sorted. Love the big spacious bed, glad you have plenty of pooch-help making it (it IS essential!). Brave Dizzee for barking that drone back into its bag! Such a big job for a small dog. Nick -- you haven't milked th minor surgeries NEARLY enough! :) Hope the paperwork and inspection all goes well and that you can get back on the road again soon!

Add more slats to ur bed to feel secure.
Store mattress cushions upright instead of piled then theyll pop out like toast.
Steamer could be used to store bread or fruit when its not in use.
Should give induction hobs a chance, no worry about gas at all then. These modern travel batteries hold more than enough juice.

I am obviously like Nick and react badly to any bites. Mossie bites have blown up with large blisters and itch like hell. These happened when I was in Romania and a trip to the pharmacy sorted them out. In fact I now make up my own using those very same ingredients. 99.9% alcohol and menthol. The menthol cools the area and the alcohol acts as an antiseptic.
Love the van love the van xx a good night sleep is worth an extra couple of minutes bed making and cushion plumping imo ❤ ignore the negative comments, folk are jealous! can’t wait for next week 😀
Pillow covers can be storage for off season clothes sweaters etc or bedding/covers.

Make a small shelf by the sink wall and side wall or use wire shelfs to put your spices and dish soap ect

Oh also meant to say that some garages in the UK (Morrisons in particular) won't let you fill up a refillable gas cylinder directly into the cylinder, you need to have one of the external fittings. On 2 occasions I had someone actually come out to check what I was doing before they would let me fill up with lpg. I have a vague memory that parts of France might be the same.
Yeah I think it generally has to be done using an outside fitting.. We’ll see, for now we have a gas bottle to use and we can change this down the line 😊
Big D is Tha real stuff! If I ever get my van fine, I can adopt him anywhere in Europe :D ( Not really though but he has the world figured out by now and know he can´t switch his charts at his age. It is so cute to me. I was ruled by cats for 14 years... sooo.. ).
In Thailand I stopped using bed linen. It is much easier to cover the mattress with a soft and light quilted blanket. Just a light blanket to cover up with. I wash both every 2 weeks. I only have a few pillowcases.

Great to see you back in the new van. Love the layout and I would spend a bit of time to fathom out a simpler/quicker way of setting up the bed arrangements. We faffed about pulling out our homemade expanding bed frame, hoicking mattresses and bedding about working up a total sweat until we invested in some snazzy long glide rails (heavy duty drawer runners) and now it takes seconds…bliss.
You will have to be patient about putting things away. You just have to live in it to see where you need things. But it looks fantastic!!!!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Never understood why people with vans don't have fly nets for the doors and windows. so easy to fit and take up no space.
We have them.. on all windows and have just received one in the post for side door.. Need to make one for the back door😊
Good video guys very laid back hope nick gets better soon. Cooking and eating food at 1120pm thats way too late for us. We cant eat any later than 630pm now its a bad night for us both. Its lovely seeing the sun out here in the uk its been and gone lol. We have had our summer three days.
