Amazing that they had Leroy's Wing Chun fight Law's Jeet Kun Doe. For those who don't know, Jeet Kun Doe was created by Bruce Lee and Wing Chun was the martial arts Bruce Lee's master, Ip Man, taught.

Also Leroy's name derives from the last dragon movie.

@Sou1FGC He won't be. It's the same with the DLC characters. They are buffed af on release, coz people are paying to win, and later they get nerfed. But he is on the main roster now so he'll be balanced.I believe they kept him in due to popularity. Had he not been that popular, he would be watching the Iron Fist Tournament 8 with binoculars.

It's cool to see Asuka have her own kind of style.
That's funny since Asuka rocks Jun's fighting style now to the point where they have to change Jun up big time to make her stand out. That's very understandable considering even the weebs won't even drop Asuka for Jun and the competitive players will never play Jun over Asuka in tag 2 because she's just way better in that game.
@@mykellederickpalad7883 Well, according to everyone, the developers made a point of making every character feel unique. They are definetely using that to maximum effect to distinguish between Jun and Asuka. Jun now has Unknown's projectiles and a stance and Asuka has charge attacks and also her own stance.

Leroy was pretty obvious considering how blatantly he was he used in the New York stage.
Gives me hope they will return Eliza, Lili, and either Kazumi or Master Raven and Kunimitsu
I'm glad that all 3 Kazamas are unique
Jin - KazaMishima Hybrid that lean more on defensive style
Jun - Zoning, long range move from unknown set with HP gimmicks
Asuka - In your face offensive style
Jin is chosen, Jun is Mr miyagi, and asuka is cobra Kai bastardize 😂
Well I'd look at it as them adding an offensive style to their defensive Kazama style.

Jun's Karate and Chizuru Kagura magic
Asukas Street fighting brawler style
All styles that compliment the defensive Kazama style uniquely.

I just realized that the Times Square stage most of these trailers feature has a bunch of Leroy Smith references such as "Smith Coffee", a big red "Leroy" sign in cursive and a Leroy statue. They were all visible from the beginning but I only noticed them now after Leroy was revealed lol
If this was street fighter, all those references would mean Leroy isn't in the game lol

The Leroy's description in the international trailer is "Grandmaster of drip" 😂😂😂
Crackpot theory: Asuka showing up on the NY stage hints that she’ll be a part of the story since Jin and Kazuya’s trailers also had them fighting in the NY stage.
She could be visiting NY for the tournament with Lili but then Kazuya begins his attack and they get caught in the crossfires, only to be saved by Jin and his crew.
I hope they make Asuka meet Jin since I really wanna see an interaction from the two of them (I know that they did in Tekken 5 in her ending but that's non canon), and this game seems to be focusing on the Kazamas and Jin's fight with Kazuya so yeah

Calling it, Jin falls face first into Asuka's chesticles after which she calls him a baka and slams him into the ground, proving to be the ultimate Kazama.
In other words, don't expect anyone except Mishima's and Jun to be of any actual relevance.
These two trailers were awesome surprises at EVO! Max and the gang’s reactions were great and I can’t wait to see Leroy and Asuka in the game! They both look amazing in their new designs and move sets!

Grandmaster of Drip might just be the greatest title in any fighting game. Man is so drippy some of it landed on the dog. And now that Asuka is back, the Mishima/Kazama hot pot battle can enter round 2.

Asuka *NEEDS* to have a big role in the main Mishima bloodline story. She is Jin's cousin and Jun's niece. Her Tekken 5 ending showed how she was the only character able to cleanse the Devil Jin showing her huge potential in the story (Harada dropped the ball obviously and managment changed in the writing/production team). Despite the Devil gene under his control, Jin may still need the support of another Kazama.
Jun saved and will save Kazuya while Asuka should help and save Jin.
I'd keep your expectations for that low, as it'll more likely be the Jin-Kazuya slapfight

This is a surprisingly quick pace of character reveals for a game that's likely a year away, but I'm all for it

This will definitely release sometime later this year, with all the trailers the hype would die out if it came next year
@@nurbmanjones1709 No way they release this while TWT is ongoing though, it would take all of the excitement away from TWT if they were on 7 and 8 was already out, which would place this as potentially early March next year at the earliest
@@blargd Which means that potentially there is a whole lot more of this game to be seen than what we have so far. If they need to create another year's worth of hype and they're dropping character trailers every couple of days, then this could be a very densely packed game.

Dude the two-for-the-price-of-one trailer of Tekken 8 was something I was not expecting seriously Bandai Namco just tells when this game is going to be released.
Leroy Smith looks even better in the eighth installment others fighting game than he did when he first appeared in the 7th, and Jin's cousin Asuka looks like she's up to her game in terms of her fighting style.
Loving these reveals! My boy Lee is soon, I can feel his excellence presence on the way.
Dude, I'm actually so happy Asuka is not a DLC or something (I was worried because of Jun!) Since the very first time I saw her saving that cat, almost 20 years ago, she's been my main. It's so fun playing with her!! I love the new, better, design and all those new faster and stronger moves. 🎉

I figured Leroy would be back from T7. I feel like Lidia will be back as well as I feel like she's got story potential.
I find it interesting that there are no brand new characters yet.
New characters are probably going to appear last. If they show the new characters first they won't get any hype cause of the legacy ones.

New characters in game usually come out last, it's the safe thing to do so that people don't get disappointed *immediately* with the new game. People don't have patience to wait so they want to see their character asap.

I forgot evo Japan was going on...happened to jump on youtube at 3am and saw not one but two new T8 trailers and was like "Why?" then saw a new yovideogames vid and was like "Ah, right, I missed the thing.."

Really liking Asuka's moveset. She is looking great! And of coarse Leroy looking good. Its kind of great seeing the fight with him and Law considering the Wing Chun style.

Azuka I already expected, now LeeRoy Smith, my heart can't handle it, simply the best character theme song with Voice.
Leroy feels like Luke for SFV/SFVI. He was more of a guest in T7 and is now in the start roster, looking more polished than before. Also, his Design is way to good to be dropped. I'm glad he's back!
The difference between those two is Leroy is actually cool and well-received.

The best part of how many of us thought Leroy was dead because he got a statue on a stage. But he’s fine.
Nice to see him move into the official roster after all these years (since he’s been seen as a DLC Character since 2019. Where does the time go?).

Harada, you're stuffing our faces with so much serotonin and I love it.
I was not expecting Leroy to come back so that was a pretty exciting trailer. It's almost like most of the base part of the game is already done and they're going to spend the next year tuning damage and frame data so the game is viable for years of tournaments like T7.
Cant Wait to main Asuka. :)

Didn’t Expect 2 More Characters in Tekken 8 but I’m Glad of it and are Tekken 5 and 7 which are Huge Fan Favorites,Now we Got 12,Who’s Next? I Don’t Know and that’s the Fun Part.

Leroy returning isn’t a huge surprise, but I’m glad to have him back. He was easily the best newcomer of Tekken 7, & clearly Bandai Namco knows it.

With the pacing of these trailers, it is hard to believe that this game might still be a full year away.
I seriously just caught the Leroy Smith trailer before coming here, I had no clue Asuka's trailer was also out.
I'm not surprised on Leroy as in the city stage has a lot of Leroy hints. Stuff that says "Leroy" as well as Smith coffee. The statue was a given, but the stage just proves he's more of a grandmaster of drip.
So nobody saw the big neon billboards that read LEROY on the left and SMITH COFFEE on the right, huh?

Huh, so we're ACTUALLY getting Asuka? I was wondering, considering Max said they seemed to be consolidating characters that kind of share a moveset into ONE "representative" of that moveset, that Asuka would be taken out in favor of Jun... but hey, here we go! Asuka is there. Seems like she's got some previously unseen tricks though- maybe they're diversifying so that Jun is "Kazama Klassic" while Asuka is the new deal?

Asuka's overhand punches now remind of the Bartender guy from Durarara anime he was this OP guy in the series basically too strong to handle and I think Asuka is getting to the same level now xD

Victory stance from Leory is straight from "Ip man" movies
Three things:
1. My prediction was we're totally getting dlc newcomers in base roster aaaand... here's Leroy. Hoping I'm right and we're also getting Fahkumram, Lidia and Kunimitsu (which would mean 1 of my characters returning).
2. The fact they're already at 12 characters while still in alpha (and TWT 2023 is gonna last beyond August) and we're getting Asuka despite Jun being in the game (and Markman mentioning that Harada said there's plenty more characters to come) means...we're getting 25+ roster. 30 maybe? Here's hoping for 30.
3. The thing is... Jun didn't have many Asuka moves in her trailer... and Nina didn't seem to have any Anna-specific moves in her trailer either (she got a bunch of new flips and gun moves) soo... IS THERE HOPE FOR MY MAIN? I really want Anna to be in the game :D
As for the characters themselves... they look good. Asuka's weird sweater with side buttons not so much but her face looks good and... I think her hands are a bit more normal-sized? I cal lthat a buff :D
And they both seem to have new voices (or at least re-recorded voices).
lidia was originally made for tekken 8 but they decided to release her earlier and thats why she is in tekken 7

@@carrying13 Everyone from Leroy onwards was intended for T8 probably. Lidia is the one they openly admit it but... Leroy had the cane, Fahkumram had a "visual buff state" (glowing scars in rage, probably a Heat thing now) and a guard break, Kuni brouht in projectiles and Heat dashes/slides as part of her base toolkit and Lidia is string into stance into string which will be good for generating a lot of chip damage.
And I want Kuni out of the four.
theory: asuka joined the tekken force. shes using moves from / similar to lars' moveset
I hope Tekken 8's character customization will be like in Tekken 6 or even better. Tekken 6 had such a great character customization
I'm so happy Leroy is back, one of the best new characters in T7 by a longshot. As fast as they are dropping these trailers I'm starting to think the game is coming out around the fall time.
Asuka's got a power dunk now lol, not terribly excited about either one, but I do like to play as Asuka, a.k.a Jun's original moveset, so it's cool that I get both versions to test out, I'm not a Leroy player, but he's a late DLC newcomer for Tekken 7 and all of those are 100% going to be in this game.
I think they've announced like 4 characters this week. It feels like they just announced the last two.
I don't remember Asuka having all these weird counters and gimmicks she looks so crazy now, I wonder if she's going to get involved with the Kazama craziness.
Leroy is obviously the coolest Tekken character of all time, but by god do I hope Lidia is another T7 DLC character they put in base T8
I know the tournament players/watchers might have mixed feelings about Leroy, but he was by far the best new character in T7.

When it comes to Leroy's cane at 1:52, I am merely thought about the Riddler, I was like, who is he now, Riddler, but with drip? That's what is admittedly thought about.
