    Am I the only one who thinks, that the 991 is so much more beautiful than the 992. Like especially from the front it's such so much more sodile and isn't that the purpose of the touring?

    For a Touring, looks definitely goes to the 991.2. For driving at the limit, 992 has the edge.
    For driving at normal legal speeds, hard to have a winner, both outstanding.

    991.2 much better looking, classier and more exclusive. Would always go for the 991.2 GT3 Touring. For track 992, but not the Touring then…

    • @neill3040
      @neill3040 3 года назад +1

      Def disagree. 992 is simply stunning and makes the 991 look dated especially from the rear. As to exclusivity, I would say that the 992 is virtually impossible to buy right now unless you’re willing to pay 50-100k over Msrp. Gt3s have always been notoriously impossible to buy, but the new model is like catching a unicorn.

    • @gt3tfc173
      @gt3tfc173 3 года назад

      @@neill3040 Might be the case in the US or UK. In Europe not...And the 992 Touring will be build many years. 991.2 Touring was only build for max 1 year in 2018. Regarding the look it is a matter of taste. I think the 991.2 has a more aesthetic look with more classic 911 lines and a lot of people I have spoken to agree with it. Front spoiler is also much more coherent looking. 992 looks more modern due to the rear lights and slightly more agressive. But this is not what I am looking for with respect to a future classic. Yet, both are absolutely fantastic cars...

      @@gt3tfc173 I’ve been trying for years to get a gt3 allocation and had no luck. Dealers here in the us who have an allocation are asking $75,000 or more over list for the 992 gt3….it’s madness. Hmmm. I find it difficult this one. Sound is better on the original one, I don’t really like the BIG spoiler panel on 992 Carreras. Just came home from a 4-day track session at ACR with my boys, where 3 992GT3’s, 2 992 Turbo S’s, 2 GT2RS’s and several 991.2 GT3RS’s and Turbo S’s attended. We all liked the 992GT3 but the 99Turbo S would suit us better as a “family” car. Why can’t they give us rear seats in the GT3, at least in the GT3T which isn’t about lap times at all? Besides, I think getting the 991.2 GT3 Touring is the wiser financial decision over the 992 GT3T. Still those 992Turbo S’s have really held their value and gone up by quite some margin.

    • @raultomas6154

      Hey, developing a new homologation, safety crash tests... for just a couple of GT3 touring is way to expensive. The GT3 are aside the 992 regular production, so modifying a couple of things (spoiler, gearbox, suspension management...) it's withing the regular homologated specs, adding 2 more seats... whole different story.
      Hope I've answered your question

    thank you, great review. i would add though:
    991 much prettier front, no nose holes and no "i swallowed a black plastic small car" look
    better rear when spoiler is up, 992 looks like the lid is open
    991 inside more ergonomical, buttons where they should be, no fiddly touch screen
    991 sound is still more raw and more pleasing to my ears
    991 is the much smaller car, that trend to bigger and bigger is worrisome
    considering all of the above, i believe the final verdict is more a tie than a clear win
    992 definately more modern and better suspension but 991 more analog and better daily as the suspension is actually more compliant

    The 991.2 is a better looking car. Do not like the bigger size on the 992 Do not like the plastic strip between the rear taillights. The front nose looks like a nose within a nose or a smaller mouth coming out of a bigger mouth, this really shows when the front is completely painted. The dash, gauges, center console and general button layout is way better on the 991.2. Analog gauges belong on a sports car. That is one thing that I felt made the Porsches unique in the modern sports car world. Too many screens on the 992. Also, why do sports car manufactures keep making a bigger sports car every refresh? Many felt the 991s were too big.

    Compared to my 997, the 991.2 feels huge, can’t imagine what the 992 feels like, but I don’t care to find out, because I dislike the dash and I find the styling way too fussy - seems like they just modified perfection, for the sake of it. That front bumper just doesn’t work at all.

    NO the 992 is NOT a better car. Just based one looks the 991.2 is better looking and the last of the analog dash. The 991.2 is a bit more raw which appeals to me.There will be many more 992's then 991.2 as the 991.2 only came at the end of the run and the 992 at the beginning also available with a PDK and for me the only way to have a Touring is with the motorsport tranny and the one piece carbon seats.The only thing the 992 has over the 991.2 is the front wishbone suspension

    Still don't like the nostrils. The 1.2 is a nicer looking car.

    I m owning 991 gt3T and I absolutely disagree that 992 is a better car! Main point you guys forgot is emotion you get from how the car sounds! 991 is pure loud, bass sound when you start and drive !!! 992 sounds like when my beautiful wife uses new hoover!! Quiet, no sound, no emotion, just do the job! Yes it is pretty but 991 is also very pretty plus you get more drama, more joy which you want from this kind of car! And sorry but f.ck double glazed windows I have on S class where it belongs, 991gt3 T is for real man, when he takes his babe for a pleasure ride!! This new cars are shit and I m so happy to have last proper 911 gt3T 👌
