The Pre-Muffler: Absolutely couldn't get that damn thing out. Then, I let all the air out of the back tire. Just enough room to pull it out. If anyone else hit a roadblock trying to get the pre-muffler out, try it. Then, I just reinflated the tire with a bicycle pump. Anyway, thanks for the great video. You clarified so much. I can't say I found it easy, but definitely doable after watching your video. Thanks buddy.
Thank you... just bought an 09 zx6r and the previous owner left the cervo cables on and I thought they just have to stay on... watching your video has taught me the first thing im doing once I get up in the morning lol
Yeah, this video is going to be very helpful ! Thanks for uploading it ! Question about that prechamber, it seemed like you got it off pretty easily (with patience), you said to spin the wheel backwards a little, did you try spinning forward by anychance? or was it best to spin back.
M4 exhaust went on really easy after watching your video. My K&N filter was also easy to put in. I was going to do a video on how to instal it but it is pretty easy so I didn't. Also did the tail fender delete. Only thing left is the power commander.
This vid really helped me out. Just finished installing a two bros slip-on on my 2012 zx6r. Have to take the bike to the shop tomorrow to have them remove a stripped bolt so I can put the muffler clamp on correctly but aside from that it went great. Looks awesome and sounds amazing! Thanks. =)
Thanks for the upload brother!! I will be studying this as my M4 exhaust is coming in the mail in a few days. I read in the comments that you installed the PcV. I was hoping to avoid that, it's like a $450 blow to the wallet LOL... Thanks man, ride safe!
im about to get my baby mom the 2brothers slip on and i will remove the cat,,,so if i do then do i have to get a PCv? or can i just leave the slipon as is?
Does anyone know if you can run the exhaust open after removing just the first muffler until my new exhaust arrives? Or will this cause any engine issues? And what exactly do those two cords from under the seat to the exhaust do? I'm new to all of this.
Great video brother came in real handy I have a question though ,,, you removed your catalytic converter! Do you need a power commander if you remove your catalytic converter? that's what everyone says but my machanic told me that you really don't and all you need to get is a K&N filter
@Drew P. yeah when it was wedged, I spun the wheel back and the chamber went up. Forewords didn't work to well. But back the chamber went up and there was a gap about 1/4 inch. Then I just grabbed the chamber and header and with alittle force not much it came right out :) hope this helps.
Major props for this video. Best "how to" I've found on the net. Wish I could buy you a beer or maybe a case. I nearly stripped the top 6mm "bitch" screw connected to the frame but I was able to finagle a 14mm socket to hold the nut in place and luckily it loosened right up. Thank you!
I realise how stupid this question might be, but I'm completely clueless when it comes to mechanics. What exactly does the servo do?? Also did you get the bike remapped for the new can? I've been told Kawasaki supply preset map set ups so I wondered if there is one available for your m4? Cheers =D
@trouble maker: I'm not sure about that but when I didn't have the power commander I did notice some lag in the low end. Soooo.. He could be right but I can say I found better response and quicker with the PcV. To the point that the fount wheel will come off the ground (about 4-6 inches) when shifting when I'm having a little fun with out pulling on the bars. Hope this helps.
I have a question confused me, I tried to install my Youshimura R-77 exhaust, there is a step is removing the bolt of the fuses box then install Yoshimua adapter plate on top of the servo pulley. But this bolt is freaking hard to remove, I can not remove the bolt at all. Do you think this is working If I only remove the cables without the adapter plate? thank you.
+Wiked 36 can you tell me what exact tool you're using to remove the prechamber screws? Mine are stiff as hell to get out and my allen wrenches aren't doing it. Looks like some sort of socket wrench insert? Thanks.
Im glad I can help. Hope to have a new bike soon and be uploading a lot again. Thank you for your support and again, I'm glad I can help some people out.
Hi, I noticed when u uninstall the stock exhaust there are two wires under the seat link to the exhaust, what're those for? can I just simply take it off? cause I'm gonna done the same thing to my bike.
Dude the precharmber 6mm allen bolts are so fucking HARD to unscrew! Makes no sense! I almost bent my allen key and the bolts/screws didn't move. Going at the shop to buy a full metric tool package just for that matter lol. Got it with the right tools. The m4 sound wayyyy to nice :D I'm addicted. Can't wait to sit on my bike again tomorrow! Thanks for the tutorial man!
I have that same bike, can I just take the stock exhaust off and leave that pre muffler on? Would I be getting enough back pressure and what not with no issues?
+Wiked 36 and one more question... I took my stock exhaust off and ran it with just that pre muffler for a couple days, I didn't notice any loss in power or anything. But those little wires that go from the stock exhaust up into the seat... Well I lost that somehow and I ended up putting the stock exhaust back on without those wires... That should be fine right? I don't even know exactly what those wires were for actually.
+Matt The Martian lol well the controller the butterfly inside the exhaust can. if it is closed, the engine wont breath as well and bog down some power. are you going to just use the stock exhaust or buy and after marker one?
+Wiked 36 we'll eventually I would like to get a full exhaust system. I can't stand the stock exhaust! It's so quiet lol I want to get the full M4 system with a dyno tune. But shits expensive haha
+Matt The Martian i hear ya. i will see if i still have the cables, if so, i will just ship them to you. I have no use for them anymore seeing how my bike is long gone.
R Riley, I have the 2009 edition of this bike l I just wanna say this vid was incredibly helpful and my question is I just bought a GP shorty pipe and i haven't installed it yet so would It be bad to remove the pre-muffler and then just attach the shorty pipe? Or would I need to keep the pre-muffler and attach the shorty pipe? cheers mate
with the Stock Exhaust, I would get around 145 Miles per Tank (City) Now with the M4 and Power Commander V, I get around 135 Miles per Tank (City) So lost some, but worth it for the power. My Riding friend has The Same bike, (They call us the Twins lol, But His is Red) His bike is stock and we wanted to see The Power Difference between My bike and his that is Stock. I had about 7 - 10 bike length ahead of him. Big power difference. Worth Every Penny to me ;)
Nope not at all. I just left the Servo there and took out the cables, now if you remove the servo, it will make the FI light come on, you can get a Servo Jumper off Ebay for like $6.00. But I just left the servo in and was going to remove it later. Sadly I no longer have the bike and not by my choice.
Just left another message, but would you please do me a favor and detail what sort of socket wrench insert or tool you used to remove the pre-muffler screws? Mine are very very tight and I'm having trouble getting them out. Thanks.
That exhaust when you take out the case looks like a straight up car muffler....oh my god.....why did they choose that as the exhaust i will never know. :)
I wouldnt, :/ if you have the Pre-Muffler still on I think it would be ok. Because I know Hotbodys makes a Megaphone? or something like that, that just attaches to the pre-muffler. But I still wouldnt cuz I think the Hot Bodys one looks funny :P

No prob guys :) I'm very happy this has helped you all out. Thank you for the kind comments. Ride safe my fellow riders
I just wanted to say this is the best vid out there it helped me a lot and I didn't run in into any problems thanks a lot man
Yeah, this video is going to be very helpful ! Thanks for uploading it !
Question about that prechamber, it seemed like you got it off pretty easily (with patience), you said to spin the wheel backwards a little, did you try spinning forward by anychance? or was it best to spin back.
"it's just held on by one screw, and velcro, evidently"
haha
awesome walk through dude, thanks.
M4 exhaust went on really easy after watching your video. My K&N filter was also easy to put in. I was going to do a video on how to instal it but it is pretty easy so I didn't. Also did the tail fender delete. Only thing left is the power commander.

Thanks bro for this video, I just uninstalled my stock to install my m4 exhaust. You helped a lot, keep it up!
Thanks for these videos, dude. Life saver! That pre-muffler was really pissing me off until I saw you do it. Lol.
Thanks for your video. Helped me out a ton. Wouldn't have been able to do it without it. Also installed the m4

Very helpful video, well explained and excellent recording showing us with details besides good quality camera recording!!
im about to get my baby mom the 2brothers slip on and i will remove the cat,,,so if i do then do i have to get a PCv? or can i just leave the slipon as is?
great video, already fav'd cause i'll be doing this to my 2013 636
Does anyone know if you can run the exhaust open after removing just the first muffler until my new exhaust arrives? Or will this cause any engine issues? And what exactly do those two cords from under the seat to the exhaust do? I'm new to all of this.
@4:49 do you HAVE TO remove that other ugly thing or can you keep it and and just install the slip-on?
can i leave the servo wires attached?
Great video brother came in real handy I have a question though ,,, you removed your catalytic converter! Do you need a power commander if you remove your catalytic converter? that's what everyone says but my machanic told me that you really don't and all you need to get is a K&N filter

Thanks for the video! Just uninstalled on my 2013 zx6r it was basically the same just slightly different
Can I run just pre muffler? And take the wires out? Will it mess anything up?
I realise how stupid this question might be, but I'm completely clueless when it comes to mechanics. What exactly does the servo do?? Also did you get the bike remapped for the new can? I've been told Kawasaki supply preset map set ups so I wondered if there is one available for your m4?

Jesus, it certainly seems like Kawasaki doesn't want us to get this thing off.
Thanks I got a 19 and stripped the premuffler bolt unfortunately

What size torque bit was that again??
Thanks for the upload dude.
my exhaust butterfly valve actuator is playing up so i will use this guide to find it and try and fix it!
thanks
Im glad I can help. Hope to have a new bike soon and be uploading a lot again. Thank you for your support and again, I'm glad I can help some people out.
Wicked I just installed two bro slip on now the check engine light is on is that normal?

The m4 sound wayyyy to nice :D I'm addicted. Can't wait to sit on my bike again tomorrow! Thanks for the tutorial man!
Same here, Jeff. I'm dangerously close to stripping the lower bolt out.
would this be the same or similar to a 2015 zx6r 30th anniversary
Does anyone know if a 2013 shorty exhaust would fit a 2011?
What is the brake mileage of the new exhaust?
I have that same bike, can I just take the stock exhaust off and leave that pre muffler on? Would I be getting enough back pressure and what not with no issues?
i have seen that done, i guess you can if you want but im not too sure how the performance is.
+Wiked 36 and one more question... I took my stock exhaust off and ran it with just that pre muffler for a couple days, I didn't notice any loss in power or anything. Im not sure, but the Pre muffler comes off with the M4. it might be the same for the Shorty. Good luck mate.
I was able to figure it out, thanks again for posting it was very very helpful. All the best.

Thanks bud for that video. Very helpful.
Did any censor turn on for removing the servo line from the seat?

Im glad this helps you out. Let me know if you run into any probs. Or if you have any more questions, you know where to find me. Thank you again.
No Prob man, That pre-muffler I think is the hardest out of this Unistall. I'm very happy I have help you all out :) Ride safe out there.
Just left another message, but would you please do me a favor and detail what sort of socket wrench insert or tool you used to remove the pre-muffler screws? Mine are very very tight and I'm having trouble getting them out.
Thanks.
It's alittle different on the 13 636 but mostly the same
Funny enough I used this video to install again the stock system(due inspections)
That exhaust when you take out the case looks like a straight up car muffler....oh my god.....why did they choose that as the exhaust i will never know. :)
Awesome Video!! Thanks
thanks the video very helpfull hahahaha :-) but i still waiting for the buyer to buy my ninja 250 to upgrade zx6r hopefully :')
Nothing. Have no problems with that at all. If you run into that, they sale a jumper on eBay for like $6 but I didn't have to
Great video helpme a lot
very informative!!!
I wouldnt, :/ if you have the Pre-Muffler still on I think it would be ok. Because I know Hotbodys makes a Megaphone? or something like that, that just attaches to the pre-muffler. But I still wouldnt cuz I think the Hot Bodys one looks funny :P
