    When I did my r6 and recently my 24’ zx6r, I used spade drill bits, does a better job of chewing up the cat material, and an air hammer. Took about an hour to get it done and cleared out. Used to working on shop time which = $$

    What about dyno numbers with the cat and flash?? Compared to gutted cat??

    • @provenpowercycles
      @provenpowercycles  4 месяца назад +1

      @Myrussell67 I won't do that anymore. We had issues with cats melting with the flash and tunes. Once a motor let go about 6 months after the tune (he raced the bike continuously during that time), so we no longer do any tuning if the cat is still present.

    what is the difference between a slip on with cat drill out vs a full exhaust system

    • @provenpowercycles
      @provenpowercycles  2 месяца назад +1

      @dopenation1025 typically, with a good full exhaust system, you get a much better mid range powerband and a better top end by a little bit. But if you are on a budget and like whatever slip on system you have, then this is a great option for those people 🤙

    • @dopenation1025
      @dopenation1025 2 месяца назад

      @@provenpowercycles Thank you man. I have a 2025 zx6r and don’t have any aftermarket exhaust yet. I havent gotten to hear the differences between any exhausts in person yet so i’m stuck. If doing a full exhaust system makes very minor differences in sound and performance then i’d rather save money but if it sounds way better and noticeably faster then its worth it. So far i want either a sc project or m4 for slip on or full system.

    Since you talk about cleaning and lubing customers chains, what do you use ??

    • @provenpowercycles
      @provenpowercycles  4 месяца назад +1

      @QuicKurtZX14R we utilize wd40 to clean them and motul chain lube 🤙 we are about to try some new chain lube out and see what we like best!

    • @Sw20boosted
      @Sw20boosted 4 месяца назад +1

      @@provenpowercycles why WD40 over just actual chain cleaner? Besides the cost of course. I work in automotive and Seafoam’s deep creep is my go to for lube and cleaning, does an amazing job breaking down carbon build up.

    • @provenpowercycles
      @provenpowercycles  4 месяца назад +2

      @Sw20boosted it's cheaper and proven, works very well, not harsh on o-rings and easy to get 🤙

  • @aarondiaz7130
    @aarondiaz7130 5 месяцев назад +1

    Are decel fuel cuts bad for the bike, so it can pop when you want it to?

    • @provenpowercycles
      @provenpowercycles  4 месяца назад

      @aarondiaz7130 yes and no. If you do it excessively then yes lol it can create a lot of heat build up on the exhaust/muffler and cause issues over time (if you abuse it and keep trying to create the pops and bangs). I also would say no because it keeps fuel going into the bike during the Deceleration process, which can also actually help keep your exhaust gas temps down.
      But anything can be a bad thing if you abuse it lol
