And now something completely different: Spellbound (keytar baby), Epilogue (solo galore ballad epicness), Burden of Time (keyboard and guitar simultaneously? Miyako: Yes). Lovebites are probably the only band that has live versions better than studio version ... every song they perform. They always add some touch here and there, change some dynamics, flip some vocals and then execute to perfection. Even on my play lists, if I can get a live performance version, that goes in. Like you said ... you barely scratched the surface. I would like to recommend Scandal and songs AMDKJ, Masterpice or Saishuheiki Kimi. They are more pop/punk rock but one of the longest active bands - 15 years. Been to their live concert recently and they are just amazing. I get that you have a list, paid requests and so on ... but who knows, you might check them out ... or I'll have to use mind trick on you :D
I wouldn't say "only". Unlucky Morpheus, Galneryus, & X Japan have live performances that sound just as good if not better than the studio versions. Hell, in Japan, it's almost mandatory for bands to be as good live as you are in studio or else you aren't taken seriously.

It seems to many people recommend newer ONE OK ROCK songs, which are great, but once you're introduced to older ONE OK ROCK songs, even before 35xxv, you'll get to see what helped then breakout from Japan (most band can't breakout). Their Yokohama Stadium encore has "Kimishidai Ressha" followed by "The Beginning".
Huge ups for the reactions - love the Japanese metal ones - all are bands I really love - I'll be seeing Nemophila and Band-Maid (twice for Band-Maid) in October - unfortunately, Lovebites still hasn't announced a new bassist, but they are at the top of my "must-see" list. I would love a reaction for Edge of the World - Live at their Five of a Kind Tour (21/02/2020) - it's the same show as their Holy War and Swan Song videos which you've reacted to. It's definitely a power ballad - Asami does an incredible job at vocals here - plus it's part of the encore, and she's already been belting for the better part of 90 minutes plus.
Two other bands you need to check out are Galneryus & Unlucky Morpheus. Galneryus is easily the best power/symphonic metal band in all of Japan & has easily the best guitarist in Japan (one of the best in the world to be honest, & one of Miyako's idols). Also their singer is world class, even going into his mid 50s. "Angel Of Salvation" (preferably the live version) is the best song to start with, but going with the anime connection route, they've done two songs for Hunter X Hunter (technically one. The singer did the intro "Departure!" as a solo artist, then covered it with Galneryus, plus they did the second season ending song "Hunting For Your Dream") Unlucky Morpheus is without a doubt the greatest collection of technical musicianship since Dream Theater. They started out as a side project just for fun (most of their music early on were based on Touhou game music), but their lead/guitarist left his previous band & the rest of the band had their other bands go on hiatus around the same time, so Unlucky Morpheus became their main focus as they had complete control (they are independent with no record label). Best songs to start with are "Angriefer", "Cadaver/Revadac" (Sheet Music Version), "Dignity Of Spirit" & their live violin covers of Van Halen's "Eruption" & Dream Theater's "Dance Of Eternity" (did I mention that they featured a violinist???). This will be your introduction to Fuki, the hardest working woman in all of Japan, if not the entire music industry. She is by far the most in demand singer to work with, & calling her a workaholic would be an understatement. She's been in 5 different bands, at times simultaneously (Unlucky Morpheus, Doll$boxx, Light Bringer, Dragon Guardian, & Fuki Commune), plus her own solo project & numerous guest appearances on other band's albums & working with other musicians. She's been credited on at least 90 albums in her 15+ year career & averaged a new release every 6 weeks over the last decade of her career. Did I mention that Fuki also handled costume design for Unlucky Morpheus as well? Yeah, absolute workaholic.

Imperial Age are a Russian symphonic metal band, now in exile having denounced the war in Ukraine. They have been granted temp residency in Germany as a base for their European & UK tour (October). Miho called “Don’t Bite The Dust” the easiest song to listen to on the EP, with it’s melody balancing the twin guitars and Iron Maiden like galloping rhythm. It was influenced by and named after a supernatural ability from the Diamond Is Unbreakable Arc of the Manga and anime series JoJo’s Bizarre Adventures . Its ending features a two octave jump by Asami, which she never tried before!

I recall you being intrigued by the ones that appeared in the top 100 anime openings video that you did, and I must say, it is by far one of my favorite anime of all time. It’s easily a better super hero-oriented plot compared to any western super hero film or series. And the openings are all amazing.
