Classical piano, ballet, acoustic guitar and oh yeah they play heavy metal for the ages. Lovebites is an incredibly talented band who are the class of the metal world.
Led Zeppelin have their Stairway to Heaven and Immigrant Song, but Lovebites have their Frozen Serenade and Swan Song with Chopin Intro. GOOSEBUMPS!
The good thing about watching Lovebites reactions is that us viewers know before you even press play just exactly what your face will look like, what you will say and how much you’ll love this band. This is probably my favourite track by them. And this performance is nothing less than majestic. It’s not a concert it’s a production. I get it in the neck in comments when I state, unequivocally, that this band is the best I’ve ever seen. Nobody has ever played to this level so early in their career, and done so from the get go. They’re in a class of their own. Maiden, brilliant. Priest, Brilliant, Sabbath, Metallica…I could go on and on, all good bands, great bands. But these ladies are simply better than all of them, because despite their greatness, all those bands had weaknesses. Lovebites are flawless. In the studio, on stage, musically, you name it. They’re the best ever and I don’t give a fuck who disagrees!! And it’s really nice to come across a reactor that seems to think more or less the same thing. Sure, there are many who know how good they are, recognise it, and say so. But I know of only one who thinks they’re in a class that nobody else has ever been in. And he knows who he is, and may well reply!🙂

Lovebites are a masterpiece factory. This and Swan Song are, for me, their crowning achievements to date. Thanks for coming back to them.

This might seem absurd. Where individuals making the band are all writers and composers, if it is not Lovebites I can only think of 2 other groups in the rock genre: Toto and Dream Theater. But I cant help thinking about Lovebites as the Return to Forever of their current genre, becos of their epic compositions and masterpieces. With chick corea, di meola, stanley clarke and lenny white, all were great writers and composers, producing those fusion masterpieces of the 70's/80's. Chick being a legend on the keyboards, and watching Miyako on the ivory keys, clearly gives them the edge over their peers due to piano based compositions, proven to be more dynamic in flow as well as technically structured. Most of all it is written.
In fact reading Chick's comments and Dimeola's approach to guitar playing and composing makes the 2M's (Midori, Miyako) more intriguing especially when both the M's also expressed similar approaches in guitar playing and music compositions from their comments in separate articles.
Together with Haruna and Asami, I reckon little did Miho expect that she would strike the jackpot of the lottery when she organized them into Lovebites!
@@zainalabidinramli762 great comment, close to my heart as an old fan of RTF and fusion in general. Prior to RTF, of course, there were the two great Miles Davis ensembles that did Kind of Blue and Bitches Brew. Almost all the members of those groups went on to found major bands themselves. Rock fans who don't know about the Fusion era don't know what they are missing! And yes, clear parallels in Lovebites.

@@zainalabidinramli762 Love the comparison to RTF. Fusion was my college soundtrack, and the level of musicianship in the great fusion bands was far beyond what most rock bands can dream of. Lovebites are one of the few rock bands in history that can match up, as you rightly point out. Jackpot for sure! Actually, even crazier, because prior to Lovebites, the four instrumentalists were known to be solid but had never done anything at the level they would do in Lovebites. Whereas when Chick put together RTF, the musicians had already proven themselves as elite.

This one definitely became my favorite for a long time. The lyrics, the music, the arrangement, the insane drumming (Haruna!)....then I kept hearing more and more songs from their discography and am still blown away. They are beyond next level! I'm in the same boat on waning to see them live for sure!

Lovebites has played Download, but not as a headliner. With the ages of the current headliners, you can see a changing of the guard coming. It's easy to imagine bands from Japan being in the mix. Babymetal, Lovebites, Nemophila, one of them will.
Glory to the world is my favorite Lovebites song; I was very ill for some months in 2021 and the song got me through it.
Yeah, they performed at Download in 2019 and not many people knew them at the time, probably. But they managed to impress from what I've heard.

When I discovered Lovebites (about 8 months ago) Swan Song and Endless Daydream rotated as my favorites....then I discovered this gem....just so well done! Love it!! As someone who enjoys Reactions (which also helps spread the word Lovebites across the Web), I sometimes have a 'new favorite' moment watching a Reaction to a song I've watched/heard dozens of times. The layers and complexity of Lovebites compositions are so dense that you can sometimes notice something in a context you hadn't realized before, that just Amazes you.. That is the Hallmark of World Class, the ability to constantly surprise your audience with what sounds like the same thing, but suddenly 'better' in some small way. LOL - Guess I'm a Lovebites Fanboy 🥰.

I don't really have a favourite Lovebites song, because there are just so many good ones, but A Frozen Serenade is definitely up there with the absolute best. In a way it feels like a culmination of their whole discography to this point. It combines all the elements that make up Lovebites and the result is simply glorious.

The greatest metal band in the world. The talent on that stage is unbelievable. One of the greatest performances I have ever seen.I love them. I hope they tour in the West someday (although they have been to Germany and the UK before). They deserve to be one of the biggest bands in the world.

You really need to check out Empty Daydream. The opening is so beautifully exquisite, you'll fall in love with it from the first note.
One of my favourites too. Just so you know.. have as many as you like. No use ranking. But there's another rarish one "Empty daydream". Not too shabby that one either!
You should check out 'Edge of the World' , Epilogue', 'Spellbound' and for some thrah 'Break the Wall'. Miyako takes only three seconds from sitting playing the last note on the piano to standing playing the guitar and she was four to five months pregnant when this was recorded.

Great reaction. I was there and thought to myself "Where the heck am I now?" The atmosphere of venue completely changed. They took us to another world! I wasn’t listening. I was feeling what they created. They gave us the reason why we needed to be there. That was just incredible! If you like this song, try ”Edge of the world." That is another mind blowing song from Lovebites. Keep going with Japanese bands. Nemophila concert was great. They are real, too. Don’t forget “Unlucky Morpheus." You’ll love them too! The Neo classical heavy metal band has amazing female vocalist and violinist!

I think this song is a masterpiece that could only be made because of "Love Bites", which is a collection of ballet dancers, pianists, and female members with artistic sensibilities.

That's a good way to put it. Very theatrical and epic.
A lot of people think of Miyako as this emotionless, cold-hearted person, but nothing can be further from the truth. I've seen her in a lot of interviews as well as in videos she has made at her home studio; she is a funny, playful, and sweet young lady - nothing at all like what you would expect just from watching her on stage. And the funny thing is that she said in an interview that she "lives for being on stage." So why is she that way on stage? I've thought about it and came up with a few ideas: 1) she doesn't move around a lot because she uses her pedal board a lot and doesn't move very far away from it, 2) she's a perfectionist and she is focused on making the music as perfect as she can. (When she gets a new guitar, she changes the pickups and even the capacitors until she gets the exact sound she's looking for. 3) I feel like she's saying, "I'm not important; the music is what's important. Don't look at me; focus on the music." Am I right? Who knows! But I think these three reasons would fit her personality. If you want to see the playful side of Miyako, watch the video for "Spellbound." Look forward to your next Lovebites reaction.

If you like that you will also like the live version called "under the red sky" at Akasaka Tokyo Japan. That version is best. Make sure it is the one from Akasaka. It is one of their most beautiful songs and is about the bombing at Nagasaki and Heroshima in WWII. Read the words first then play and react to it.

They are the best band in the world now but the most disappointing thing is for me , is that I'm new to liking LOVEBITES so I missed all their UK shows in the past but next time they come over here I will go to all their shows. They are so brilliant.

I don't know why, but the guitars are always panned the the opposite side than you would expect. You get used to it though.
