Jumpstart 2025 is the follow-up to Jumpstart and Jumpstart 2022. The Jumpstart format mashes together themes from throughout the history of the game and lets you skip the deckbuilding part. To play a game of Jumpstart, players open two boosters and shuffle them together to form a ready-to-play deck. The set is designed for two-player gameplay, but players can also play multiplayer with it.
Marketing
With Jumpstart 2025 the naming convention for Jumpstart sets was changed. The set is now named after the year following the year that the product was released, to keep it relevant longer.
Jumpstart 2025 is sold in 20-card Jumpstart Boosters, with 24 boosters per booster box. Each booster contains a face card (the "Pack Summary card") that indicates the pack's theme and color.
The contents of each pack fit one of TBA randomly chosen themes, with each theme having a "rarity" of common, rare, or mythic rare. Common and rare themes have multiple variations of their pack contents; there are TBA possible pack contents. All boosters contain at least one rare, and one in three boosters includes an extra rare. Within each pack, seven or eight of the pack's 20 cards are lands and the rest are spells.
The set is also sold in 2-Booster Packs.

I personally like Jumpstart. It's a really good and cheap way of playing a sealed format for new players. The decks you create are viable, so that is great too.
It’s also an amazing “babies first cube”! Crack a booster box, sleeve your half’s and add numbered dividers (or cube shells). Then just use your random selection method of choice to build your decks.
The most time consuming part will be splitting the decks after play.
The real jumpstart releases (i.e. not the ones they put with sets to replace theme boosters) were amazing. I understand everyone that complains about product fatigue, but letting that anger out on the main jumpstart sets which occur every 2 years? That seems misplaced to me.

I have not even had a chance to properly add in new cards from MH3, and spoiler season is here.
Theres no time to let the new cards fit before the new set...
More and more, you have to pick the products and formats you care about. Without focus, magic is both too expensive and unrewarding.

Buying sealed is only for drafting or gambling. That's it.
We have triple spoiler season stacked up: Assassin's Creed set, the Furries set, Duskmourn started just this morning.
It might be product overload, but the bi-yearly release of a main jumpstart set that introduces a limited number of new cards, is designed decently well towards it's own fun little format and is (at least historically) not devoid of value? That's not the set to cut to counteract product overload. It's perhaps the most easily skippable release for those not interested. Any of the new cards go through the roof? Yeah, they're getting reprinted not too long after anyway.
I just started playing and collecting recently as an adult that left after Mirage block. I thought it was crazy expensive back then but oh boy it’s impossible to keep up these days.
As an older and returning player who started in tempest block, it's been a roller coaster and the sets are being released way too fast. I hust learned about the new set boosters and then now play boosters. Play boosters suck compared too set and i will not be buying boxes. I will just buy second hand singles.
I agree with this assessment and it's been showing on the market. Play boosters regularly drop below initial presale price (is true even for MH3 which can be gotten for €7 instead of the initial €8 now on Europes biggest marketplace), while collector boosters for many sets now often see a steep price increase due to way tighter print runs (see WOE, LCI, Fallout, MH3, OTJ). Buying play boosters for cracking is just not it. They did not negatively affect sealed as much though from my experience up to this point.
Looks like this set may be AFTER Duskmourn now with the Duskmourn release date known.
Lets hope we see Ash(Bruce Campbell) on Duskmourn. We will need someone to save us from the horrors.

I don't really consider jumpstart set clutter. Only a handful of new cards, and legacy legal, doesn't matter for most formats.

I just checked with all 3 of my distros and didn't see a JumpStart 2025 or for Duskmourn. I wouldn't put your money on pre-order items that, at least here in the US, the distros aren't even listing yet for LGSs/stores to pre-order themselves. This is how you get cancels due to allocations screwing them (They pre-ordered more than what the store actually gets allocated) or prices (the store cancels the pre-orders because the prices skyrocket and they don't want to lose the money). If you're going to pre-order, talk to your LGS. There's a window of time when their allocations get finalized and they know 100% the amount of product they're getting. Pre-order when you know your LGS's allocations....saying you've had issues with pre-orders and all before. If not, then keep doing what you've been doing I suppose.
The speed of format lifetimes with online play means that formats also wear out quicker. I personally like the pace of it for that reason. (Plus I only interact with online draftable sets anyway)
Watching expected pricing is always interesting. Sorta like a box of chocolates, you don't know what you're going to get until it arrives. Anyway, Bruce Campbell.

Bet you didn't know, my 4th dimension body is Bruce Campbell. Wizards knows the fool keeps his folly for fear of being exposed. Everyone already heavily collecting will never stop. It would make them in the wrong. Like when I finally canceled my Rudy subscription and realized I now have 16 boxes of flesh and blood and 8 boxes of metazoo that are not going to make half of what I paid for them. Personally Bruce Campbell is excited about Jumpstart 2025. That is if they release it at an affordable price paired with good cards like the last two rounds.

I think that Jumpstart 2025 will likely be fill with variant art from this year set or event complementary theme card. Don't forget November is 1 month before Christmas and there is nothing more fitting in your santa socks then a Jumpstart pack, or two , or three...
just buy singles. if they overload the market don't buy sealed product.
The basic Jumpstart for the year is actually pretty good... love the anime cards or anything preprinted. Bloomburrow CE is now $330

It doesn’t help that it’s always dropped on a Monday. Players can’t wait till payday to get what they want, because it will most likely sell out within hours of release
Calling it now, we will see seasonal themed decks released in the next year or two. I.e. a Christmas themed deck with unique art but using a previous product, just reskinned.
Duskmourn is looking American Mcgee cute/creepy horror not the disturbing horror I was hoping for. Business wise it makes sense Nightmare before Christmas type stuff would be insanely popular. What do I know, I got spruce brambles stuck on my jacket today.
the price increases only help to push players away and keep playable cards out of the average players decks. booster boxes are 100$ more now. just last set you could almost buy 2 booster boxes for the same price of 1 mh3 box, just picture how many more packs that is and how many decks that wont be able to be built because of that increase alone. calling 100$ mark up "pennies in the bucket" is pretty wild lol

Or it could just be the typical Canadian BS. Taxes have gone up again and stores need to punish us for that. Capital Gains tax has gone up from 27% to 50% so if you're a collector wishing to sell anything to make a profit you're paying more now.
