  • An ultra rare AC/DC song from the Flick of the Switch era. It is a cover of the Junior Wells song.

Great song. Wow. Talk about the Blues. People just underrate AC/DC. This is why I get a little irritated when people call them a metal band. They're not. They are just GREAT rock & roll.

God I wish they would do this sort of stuff on albums and live. It's in their blood.

Simon Wright auditioned for the band twice in July 1983, exact dates unknown. The official press release on him joining AC/DC was August 5th 1983, roughly one week before the North American release of Flick Of The Switch. Tour rehearsals started in Los Angeles in early October. These tour rehearsals were recorded straight through the soundboard and "Messin' With The Kid" was just one of the "cover" songs they fooled around with just for fun.

I don't know which of the brothers that had the deep rooted core love of the blues ( Malcolm or Angus ), but gawd love 'em for it. Night Prowler ... What a perfect reflection of that love.

Once again: This song is not taken from the Flick Of The Switch album recording sessions, it was taped during the Flick Of the Switch tour rehearsals held in Los Angeles in October 1983. It was available on a bonus CD that came with the "Aftershocks" bootleg album which covers all the Flick Of The Switch tunes rehearsed and played live during the 1983-84 World Tour. Hence it's not BJ Wilson on drums, it's Simon Wright.

I did some checking after seeing some of the comments on this page. One source lists Brian Johnson's birthplace as Dunston, Gateshead, England. He is of English and Italian descent. That's what the source said, also that he has three younger brothers and a younger sister. The other source said Newcastle Upon Tyne, England. The sources all seem to agree that England is his birthplace. Didn't know about the Italian descent though. That was a surprise.

How in the hell can anyone say that this version of the song sucks. All they are doing here is jamming. That is what musicians do.ANGUS is doing some killer lead work on here.If they wanted to tighten this up from being a loose jam it really would be great. This is great for a jam.Anyone who would criticize a loose jam negatively when the musicians are playing something musically correct doesn't know anything about music.JAMMING is the fun part of playing.

Seventiesclassic, who gives a fuck? If you truly understood what a classic is, as your name suggests, you would understand that this is a band that has not just been around for 36 years, but has kicked ass for that same amount of time, unlike Status Quo and Deep Purple. Look at how their new album sold, how their current tour has seen such high attendence. They are rock gods.
