@@tomgentry5987 Right on man I couldn't agree more. This show is the best live show ever for me, specifically the best moment being that exactly. No bullshit just the best tone and riffage of all time.
I saw a few days ago Angus was told in an interview he is one of top ten guitar players in the world? He answered I'm not even the best player in my band. Classy answer.......
@1978 rm 50 fun agreed. Well, idk, that no one can ever duplicate their energy and character part…that may be going a little extreme. However, considering their age is what makes them so impressive to me. Shit, I mean Brian’s probably about there. The Youngs are probably not too far behind and they still move like they’re in their fucking twenties. That’s incredible. It’s their longevity that I find so impressive. There are many bands that come close, but none that put on this kind of a show at that age. So ultimately, I think you’re right.
@Wraith Ranger From Beyond I don’t think he made a bullshit statement at all. Sure, there are many other bands that do great concerts and genuinely try (tried for those who either broke up or disbanded due to the death of a key member or members) to give fans their money’s worth. The Beatles, Rolling Stones, Guns n Roses, The Eagles, Def Leopard, Bon Jovi, Zeppelin, Aerosmith, Foreigner, Journey, etc. You could name tons of great bands, but how many of them put on that kind of show routinely at that age? Brian Johnson is 75 now, which would have made him about 61 (14 years ago if I remember the year cited in the title correctly) in that video. I believe Angus Young is 67 now, which would have made him about 53 there. Whether or not other bands are “on their level” in terms of raw energy is subject to individual opinion. It’s highly debatable. I don’t think anyone else is simply due to the age factor. The only other band that could hold a candle to ACDC, as far as I’m concerned, would be the Stones, again, due to the age factor. That shit gets harder and harder to do, the older you get. That’s just my opinion though. Like Patrick Swayze said, OPINIONS VARY.

After watching the Live At Donnington video, from a musical and showmanship perspective, I think Chris Slade’s drumming style enhanced the classic AC/DC energy to another dimension.
Yes you are certainly correct. Although I prefer Phil Rudd, especially early Phil, but you gotta admit he's more of a backseater during live performances.
Phil Rudd is “the” AC/DC drummer. That’s why they brought him back! Chris Slade is a terrific drummer but listen to them live with Phil, especially Thunderstruck from the No Bull Madrid video.
@@tarzanmike7836 Totally agree, Chris is a terrific drummer but Phils drumming skills are second to none, never misses a beat and his concentration is phenomenal...the man is a machine and the real AC/DC drummer..
Buy a gretsch and a marshall stack. Clean and loud with thick strings gauge. Now you only need to hammer some chords with the power that is only gain after decades of Rock n Roll
Angus young, one of the greatest axe grinders of all time who could keep the crowd entertained without actually playing the guitar. There is nobody before him and will never be anyone after him who could pull this off, like seriously could you imagine Slash running around the stage with no guitar doing a striptease, that’s hilarious just thinking about it. Angus is legendary
This show, AC DC Live at donington 1991 is the best live performance ever. The moment Malcolm starts playing the main riff is the best moment of any live concert ever for me. Rest in peace sir.
Angus Young!!! Doesn't get any better. Had the pleasure of seeing him live on 3 occasions. Best musician of all time. Pas present and I don't see anyone touching him in the future, but I'm just an ole country boy. What the hell do I know. Hehe.
The man is insane. I think the whole world loves Angus. And look at Malcom rip into his perfect rock and roll rhythm. 3:06 man oh man i've loved these guys since the 70's
I had the honor of seeing Angus lay down the solo on Jailbreak live in the Gulf Coast Colosseum in Mississippi. Had the entire audience on their feet and going crazy. I literally cried tears of joy. What an amazing band and great music. One of the best concerts i have ever been to. Amazing show.
Because we lived in the area we were able to drive up to the Church at Breedon on the Hill and look down on the light show and hear this incredible set being played a mile or so away...outstanding and will never be forgotten.
Angus is an incredible guitarist who knows how to play with the audience with his riffs but the most powerful thing is the strip show which is literally incredible.
i`m an old fashion man, but i love the music of ac/dc, the energy, the beat esp, thunderstruck, the drums, the bass head banging of cliff, angus duckwalk doing chuck berry steps, and stage performance, the most energetic band of their time, i love it,
I went to the record store every payday for months and months waiting to find a copy of 74 Jailbreak. The day I finally brought it home we just couldn't believe we finally had it. It was like the golden chalice or something. I laboured for a long time to get that riff down just right. It is a little off time and sort of backwards to play. This was in 1982 mind you. No tabs or RUclips. Still one of my favourite ACDC songs. RIP Bon.
Can’t beat AC/DC. People might say they are over rated but these guys are in their 60s and 70s still giving us true fans some killer music. Rest In Peace always Bon Scott and Malcolm Young.
Just imagine strapping on a guitar, then running a marathon, all the way playing pretty much non stop. You still couldn’t match Angus’ endurance. Credit to the entire band. Never will be another like AC/DC.
I'm a 56 year-old black man that was raised on rhythm and blues and the best soul artists the world has ever seen. I heard my first White musicians when I was 12 on an a.m. football helmet radio after my parents got a divorce. The songs were Time in a Bottle by Jim Croce, Play That Funky Music White Boy by Wild Cherry, and Magic Man by Heart. They moved my soul 10 times more than James Brown ever did! But at 16 when I got the Back in Black Album and the diary of the madman by Ozzy, it was then that I knew just how energetic and special AC DC was and would forever be. Many years later Stephen King would hear them for the first time and immediately he said he wanted them to do the entire soundtrack for his movie Maximum Overdrive.
What a story! I love all of it, from Howlin Wolf to these guys and everything in between. Love the roots of early rock and blues, the Funkadelic, Howlin Wolf like I said, Muddy Waters, and the later stuff, but this era was really special and united everyone!
I live about 20 minutes away from Bangor Maine, where Stephen King lives . Rumor has it " They came to his house and did the sound track . CAN YOU FREAKING IMAGINE THAT !!!
Angus is a quitar god!!!! I saw Bon carry Angus on his shoulders through the crowd at Toledo speedway in 1977! What a show! What memories!! I also saw them at Donnington Casle in 1985 while serving in the USNavy , stationed in Scotland. They are the perfect definition of Rock and Roll!!!!!
He never skipped a beat he was a master rhythm player have a look also at rudd doing let there be rock at River plate he doesn't miss a single pound on the drums for a solid 15mins there definitely an act that will never be followed
Dude, that is not true, when u think if Angus, you think of Malcom. Malcom, was loved as much as Angus, and it will always b that way!!! I'm va 61 year old rocker and ACDC has been there and back for their fans! God bless the young family...
My 4 year old daughter watches this video EVERY DAY! She loves Angus and knows all his moves in this video. AC DC will live forever through their fans! 💕
Only one other guitarist I have ever seen live came close to the energy Angus puts out on stage...and it was a chick. Better than 90% of the male guitarist's I have seen, and I'm old school, drumming in many bands over the years. Full raw energy and drive, long blonde hair completely covered her face, except the tip of her nose, all over the stage. Angus had to have been her hero. Best club level gig I have ever seen.
Lyrics There was a friend of mine on murder And the judge's gavel fell Jury found him guilty Gave him sixteen years in hell He said: I ain't spending my life here I ain't living alone Ain't breaking no rocks on the chain gang I'm breakin' out and headin' home Gonna make a jailbreak And I'm lookin' towards the sky I'm gonna make a jailbreak Oh, how I wish that I could fly All in the name of liberty Got to be free Jailbreak, let me out of here Jailbreak, sixteen years, ah Jailbreak, had more than I can take Jailbreak, yeah He said, he'd seen his lady Being fooled with by another man She was down and he was up Had a gun in his hand Bullets started flying everywhere And people started to scream Big man lying on the ground With a hole in his body Where his life had been But it was all in the name of liberty All in the name of liberty I got to be free Jailbreak, jailbreak I got to break out Out of here Heartbeats, they were racin' Freedom, he was chasin' Spotlights, sirens, rifles firing But he made it out With a bullet in his back Jailbreak
So much feel and energy, every little blues lick hypnotizing the crowd, every dramatic pause so intense, AND THEN HE LOSES THE GUITAR... what a performance.
You should have seen the crowd when Metallica were on before DC.. They were going nuts. Metallica had just released the Black album and most of the crowd seemed to be at Donnington to watch them. The amount of Metallica shirts in the crowd outnumbered the DC ones. True story.
These guys have reached the pinnacle of their careers with all the changes they still are 'the greatest rock-n-roll band of the 21st century" The best and will be remembered as so! Thanks for the memories mates!

I saw AC/DC in 1981 at Donington Park. Still sends shivers down my spine listening and watching them perform live. For me they're the greatest rockn' roll band of all time.
Wow so Jealous first Album I ever got AC/DC. My uncle gave me this DVD soon after. You said it they are 100% the essence of Rock n Roll boogie woogie. They are Rock n roll to the bone everything it’s about the look the attitude the sound.
Was there meself👍
1981??? this video is from 1991
@@blakespinelli6969He's talking about a different concert bro!😂
Those who attended this concert I salute you🫡🤘🏻🎉🎉
Edit: I wish I could have, but I was only 3 years old! Still so glad this concert is preserved for all to hear & see the best band playing for future generations! RIP Bon & Malcolm..🫡🤘🏻❤
Sometimes your brain tells you it is time to listen to some AC/DC. Do you understand ?
So much
To dam right 👍💥
yes dont question it just go with it does a body and soul good
For sure October 2024🎉
That's pretty much every day for me
I just keep replaying Malcolm’s opening riff over and over. The most spin tingling filthy tone I’ve ever heard. RIP to a legend. Keep rocking AC/DC. My favorite band since 6th grade
And MY favourites are they too . . . 🙂
It's a gow
It's Malcolm's NOT Malcoms. You and I clearly did not attend the same school.
@@ndhan72 or is it malcolms' ??
@@ndhan72
Clearly wasn’t a charm school.
AC/DC always surprises me how such wonderful things can be done on such simplistic harmonies and chords.
Rest in Peace Malcom. You'll be dearly missed.
"You just got to be FREE!" A concept less and less people are fighting for...most have succumbed to the "easy life" one. AC/DC FOREVER!
The tone of Malcolm Young’s guitar in that opening riff gives me all new life!
No matter how many times I watch this, 3:07 still gives me goosebumps when Malcom's rhythm guitar kicks in!
Malcolm Young( RIP) He is a Phenomenal Rythm Guitarist & an Integral part of AC/ DC'S Awesome sound.🙏🙏☝️☝️🤘🤘
I think this is the best example of rhythm guitar of all time. Ever. It’s arguably better than any lead playing.
so unadorned and clean sound, but THE FEEL!!!!
completely agree !! so damn tight
and 14:55 ;)
One of the finest live performances EVER. Best 19 minutes spent during the pandemic.
I was lucky enough to see it live... still one of the greatest nights of my life!
Its better than buyin. A house hammer.

I like Angus and his brother on of the best bands I have seen on video I will be 81years old this year I love the
Rest of the band ❤❤❤❤❤I like the way he
Pulls his pants down
Very fit for his age ❤❤❤
After watching the Live At Donnington video, from a musical and showmanship perspective, I think Chris Slade’s drumming style enhanced the classic AC/DC energy to another dimension.
Yes you are certainly correct. Although I prefer Phil Rudd, especially early Phil, but you gotta admit he's more of a backseater during live performances.
Both are excellent drum players both with unique style.
Phil Rudd is “the” AC/DC drummer. That’s why they brought him back! Chris Slade is a terrific drummer but listen to them live with Phil, especially Thunderstruck from the No Bull Madrid video.
@@tarzanmike7836
Totally agree, Chris is a terrific drummer but Phils drumming skills are second to none, never misses a beat and his concentration is phenomenal...the man is a machine and the real AC/DC drummer..
3:07 .. I have absolutely no idea how you get a guitar to sound as good as that. RIP Malcom Young!
Malcolm
It's called, hell yes, greatch, and Marshall, same as the ah mighty Gibson, and Marshall, no bullshit , just kick ass rock n roll...
He took this secret with him and that s better like that! he was. he is. and he ll always be my favorit
Buy a gretsch and a marshall stack.
Clean and loud with thick strings gauge.
Now you only need to hammer some chords with the power that is only gain after decades of Rock n Roll
ya'll are right guys, but dont forget about distortion! yeah, the marshall amp covers that, so...
I was there. I hate to say it, because Metallica is one of my faves, but ACDC blew them away that night. Spectacular.
Metallica would not argue with that. DC are heroes to Metallica. DC are heroes to all rock bands in the last 30 years
I was at Market Square Arena Indy 4th Row. I couldn’t hear for 2 weeks after. Oh this was Back in Black tour. The bell was awesome for Hells Bells 🔔
Crank it up! My mother is 87 she loves ac/DC 👍
This is my favourite AC/DC's song.
Brian sings heavenly but Bon sang it like the Demon. Best song ever.
R.I.P BON SCOTT his voice and charisma !
That's because bon was the g.o.a.t
@@rubenherrera2769 yes sir, you got that right
@@rubenherrera2769 Yeah . He was the front man.

No one can match that guitar sound that AC/DC gets, nor their drum sound!
His playfulness and mastery are legendary!
Oof.
At 10.48 Angus gives me the absolute shivers. What a band, what sound, what music bloody hell 👏🎤🎸🎶
You mean just before he started his striptease?

This show, AC DC Live at donington 1991 is the best live performance ever. The moment Malcolm starts playing the main riff is the best moment of any live concert ever for me. Rest in peace sir.
I could listen to Mal play a coupe of cords on repeat for hours and not get bored
Angus Young!!! Doesn't get any better. Had the pleasure of seeing him live on 3 occasions. Best musician of all time. Pas present and I don't see anyone touching him in the future, but I'm just an ole country boy. What the hell do I know. Hehe.
Puts his freaking all into it
And he only plays a Gibson SG or standard guitar no bs you can play or your a joke, he can play

LEGOND THAT CANT SPELL
The man is insane. I think the whole world loves Angus.
And look at Malcom rip into his perfect rock and roll rhythm. 3:06
man oh man i've loved these guys since the 70's
I've never heard a bad word about Angus. He gives his all for the audience on every tune.
I Grew Up Listening to AC/DC! Nothing Better To Listen Too in my Musclecar!!! I've seen Them in Concert 6Times! Woof!
Hello Sean yeah
You have lived well.

And to think metallica came on before this !! Blew them off the stage haha my old man was at this gig he was like eh metallica was OK lol
Chris Slade’s reaction when Angus moons the crowd is great. I always get a kick out of watching Slade On the drums
He looks like troll face. :D
Slade always cracks me up.
Chris Slade the phenomenal drummer.. God bless legend

RIP Bon.
God yeah, a kid down our road had it on 45. Gold dust!
Can’t beat AC/DC. People might say they are over rated but these guys are in their 60s and 70s still giving us true fans some killer music. Rest In Peace always Bon Scott and Malcolm Young.

Imagine what they got paid for this concert alone.
Many years later Stephen King would hear them for the first time and immediately he said he
wanted them to do the entire soundtrack for his
movie Maximum Overdrive.
AI,PERFECTA DREPTATE!O.K.!
Acdc are a very special band dude.
My boy. Heart dont play around either
Angus he earns every penny he makes on stage flawless performance
Forget bad mood and depression I come to AC/DC songs for every day life to jumpstart my days!
Thats it!!. Thats how it is.
Matthew Bernhard same here Bon Carried Angus right in front of me in 78 in Vancouver Canada. I think it was the Let there be rock tour.
There is a reason why these blokes are the best rock band in the world - Acca Dacca may cease, but their music will be played forever.

And there’s their perfect legacy ❤️
Well hopefully she's not mimicking Angus too closely based on the latter half of this video. Other than that good to hear.
Lyrics
There was a friend of mine on murder
And the judge's gavel fell
Jury found him guilty
Gave him sixteen years in hell
He said: I ain't spending my life here
I ain't living alone
Ain't breaking no rocks on the chain gang
I'm breakin' out and headin' home
Gonna make a jailbreak
And I'm lookin' towards the sky
I'm gonna make a jailbreak
Oh, how I wish that I could fly
All in the name of liberty
Got to be free
Jailbreak, let me out of here
Jailbreak, sixteen years, ah
Jailbreak, had more than I can take
Jailbreak, yeah
He said, he'd seen his lady
Being fooled with by another man
She was down and he was up
Had a gun in his hand
Bullets started flying everywhere
And people started to scream
Big man lying on the ground
With a hole in his body
Where his life had been
But it was all in the name of liberty
All in the name of liberty
I got to be free
Jailbreak, jailbreak
I got to break out
Out of here
Heartbeats, they were racin'
Freedom, he was chasin'
Spotlights, sirens, rifles firing
But he made it out
With a bullet in his back
Jailbreak
Always amazed at his guitar playing. One of the greatest artists ever
the guitar tone kills it, this tour is legendary, pure rock n roll

So much feel and energy, every little blues lick hypnotizing the crowd, every dramatic pause so intense, AND THEN HE LOSES THE GUITAR... what a performance.
You should have seen the crowd when Metallica were on before DC.. They were going nuts. Metallica had just released the Black album and most of the crowd seemed to be at Donnington to watch them. The amount of Metallica shirts in the crowd outnumbered the DC ones. True story.
