- My friends, it took me really long to find out that autumn might be the best season to depict in miniature! So many colors, contrasts, and different textures... and most importantly, mud and dirty water puddles!

Disclaimer: I have a good relationship with a handful of modelling brands and stores, namely VMS, Michigan Toy Soldier Company, and AK-Interactive. As such, I'm happy to use their products/services, and show them in my work. In return, they support my efforts in this hobby, although my hands are not bound nor am I obligated to push one brand or the other. Being independent from exclusive sponsorship deals, and instead showing you a variety of paints, techniques, and mediums was one of the founding ideas of this channel and I will always stand by this.

The "simple" scene is in my opinion is the hardest to pull off because every element must be as visually appealing.
Well done sir, well done.
I can see why it's your favorite, as you said it's simple yet it is effective at telling a story.
I don't know where to rest my eyes, this dio deserves hours and hours of gawking at, so many cool little details.
Absolutely beautiful!
Beautiful ❤
After a shitty week, this is exactly what I need - Over 30 minutes of great entertainment starting with "Mah friends..." :) Let the weekend begin!
I know what you mean, this channel helps me decompress before I attempt to work on my models.
The wood grain looks so pretty, it allows the base to have it's own warm feel and adds so much to the diorama.
Night Shift when he can use the VMS smart mud: **happi noises**
Magnificent! Each diorama gets better and better, not only because of the end results, but for the path to get there. A lot of learning on each delivery! Thank you.
Your attention to detail make all your projects a work of art. You are a master of your craft!
Perfect way to start the weekend! Thank you :D
dude this is either the best or one of the best dioramas i have ever seen, the soldiers looks so alive and the nature looks very real, the diorama looked so real that you fooled me, i thought it was a picture from WW2.
Amazing work!!
I swear just listening to your voice feels like a therapy :D Just building my own model, video playing next to me.. Its so calming and peaceful
The peculiar whining noise he introduces into his voice drives me nuts on the other hand. Luckily his dioramas are brilliant and I can love them with the sound off 😂
@@neilhfrancis1334what are you talking about?? He talks perfectly normal🤷🏼♂️
Fantastic work!
Baby oaks. 😅
The details are jaw dropping! 👍
I love how you can hear the barely-contained joy in his voice at so many points in the video
Amazing job as always! This whole build has been fantastic!
Another great diorama! I can't wait to try your painting tech for figures...
Very nicely greatly well done in every detail way shape and form a very spectacular looking diorama on a job very fabulously well done indeed Sir!👍.
Thank you , Uncle Martin .
🐺 Loupis Canis .
No doubts you feel proud of this diorama! It’s balance, color gradients, level of details blends to a very pleasant and realistic scene! The palisandre wood stain works very well. A true gem of a diorama and an inspiration for us modelers.
Love the visual rhythm of the track marks along the edge and how they interact with the wood sides. Wonderful motion.
This is a work of art. Simply beautiful!
Mate!
Ive been painting minis for 3 years, I also collect german medals from ww2 so i would like to paint and build a diorama for a Messerschmitt BF 109 from Legion Condor, when r you gonna paint a planeeeee!!!?????? Ive waiting for it for months! But you r always painting stupid tanks 😅
Cheers!
Great job! One detail I couldn't avoid to see, after I first noticed it, was the missing mud on the tracks.
Yet another brilliant build - love it!
Amazing work. I think the base should be half as tall. The tall base always looks to clunky for the tiny detailed scene on top. Just my opinion
Why don't you paint the grass and ground before you put the balsa wood? also my eyes popped out when I saw the end result congrats!👏
A small slice of a large landscape, your imagination fills in the rest!!
Amazing work. Cant wait for the next project!
Nice work Uncle Nightshift, the diorama looks great and the stained laminate looks better than flat black👌
I really love that you take the extra time for the videos and enjoy the process also i really think its paying off. This is art
This is a real stunner! Fantastic work as usual, keep it up man!
Very nice results Night Shift! Everything came together on this one!
i would love to see you make a diorama where a tank is shooting its round and it floats in the air and there should be total war around it. that video i would watch 😊👌
a tip on the seafoam twigs those ''spices'' are actualy seeds maybe try to replant them so you safe some monney whit that
Wow! This video was amazing! There’s just something about fall dioramas that hits different…definitely one of your best dioramas yet!
Raising the bar with every single one, amazing!
Hej kámo úplně miluju tvoje videa. Fakt nejvíc relax.
I think that the angles and viewing lines on this are terrific! The slope down with the tree in the back, the sight lines moving from each figure to the next, the composition is perfect! Great work once again!
This is ABSOLUTE PERFECTION! I am just blown away with how good the terrain and the tree looks 🤙
Es un diorama simple?.....muy completo muchos y muy buenos detalles,felicitaciones!!!!!.... abrazo desde la Patagonia Argentina!!!!!!
Simply epic videos! Would you build the Object 490b tank by Trumpeter?
Fantastic work yet again! I really enjoy and am able to learn so much from your videos! 🤗👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Another master work! It appears that you innovate diorama details & painting effects very successfully with each new diorama project. The tree leaves look very realistic, & at first, I thought they might be lights.
I must say this video was really fun to watch. It's amazing how you can share your joy and passion with your viewers. And yes, the diorama is great! All those hours playing with the mud and creating that wonderfull tree payed off! 👌🏻
Stunning diorama, epic figures.
You make this look so simple, when in fact it is anything but.
Also really love how you explain everything in detail, what an excellent teacher you are.
Beautiful Martin, Beautiful !!! The figures on this one are absolutely stunning 👍🏽👍🏽
I'm always impressed each time I see your dioramas. Not only is the result at the quality of picture-perfect realism, but the staggering amount of effort applied to each individual detail in each project is inspiring. If you applied your diorama skills to a wargaming hobby such as Warhammer, I wonder how cool you could make them look if you applied the same amount of work ethic. I pray that you continue to upload outstanding work like this.
"MAH FRENS!"
Marten, those woodstained sides look SICK! Dude, I have been telling you this for a year!!! 😜 I will take full credit. You can name your first child after me, and we can come up with a marketing name for your first product line! 🤣😂🤣😂🤣
And to the Spanish authorities.... Marten has now fully defoliated his garden, and is now working on Spain!!!
I half expected this to be like one of those Fail videos, where the diorama falls out of UN's hands and smashes on the floor.
At least it would mean more space in my display cabinet :D
You should be proud of this diorama. You’ve put everything you’ve learned up to this point into it, and personally I prefer smaller, more concise dioramas (verging on vignettes). It has all the elements necessary to tell a larger story than it seems, with nothing extraneous.
I think the reason the wood grain base works so well with this scene is due to the contrast between the lighter wood and the very dark mud. The terrain-following upper edge, particularly on the front of the diorama, emphasizes the three dimensionality of the ruts. It’s the first thing my eye was drawn to before differentiating the thing into its elements and how they went together. This kind of front loads the brain to see and appreciate the three dimensionality of the whole diorama. It’s just another visual hack.
Your standard black base does the same thing with lighter ground features like sand and snow.
Wood stains often have different rules, such as needing multiple coats, wiping excess off, needing some sanding before reapplication and more.
It is a good idea to always read labels for such things, also if these are only stains that don't harden the wood may have no protection, which in your case isn't a problem but if you want a better shiny finish simply rub a rug on some wax (beesewax ideal but any candle will do) and give it a pass over the veneer.
Wonderful piece of work, right there! You're right to feel so proud of it; it's an inspiration, it truly is! 🎨🖌👏😎👌
The stained veneer looks so much more professional in my opinion. Like framing a piece of art. Which all your work basically is. Fantastic art!
I’ve watched your videos from the start, here on RUclips, and have learned a TON from you. I really like your figure painting technique. When you spray the Tamiya paints for the zenithal highlight process, what paint to thinner ratio (and what thinner) do you use?
Thank you!
The Soviets seemed to love their Valentines, much to the bemusement of the British War Office, who had declared them obsolete in 1942 but continued production in Canada solely for Soviet use.
Wonderful job as always Uncle. Somehow you teach us something "new" every time. On the figures, I think oils for skin tones is easier. And picked up some very useful techniques from Milan Dufek-"White Wardrobe" on youtube.
one tip on the tree: fall leaves tend to fall off unevenly. Usually, the leaves on the bottom fall off after the top ones! Unbelievable work again though!
7:10 sodium bicarbonate, muh friend. Or water. Or sodium bicarb in water, in a spray mist bottle. Absolutely stunning diorama, you've outdone yourself yet again 🧑🍳😘
As always: over the top Martin! Thanks for sharing your tricks and skills. This "helping hand" make me sad anyway... 80 years ago, UK sent tanks to Russia, nowadays, UK is sending anti-tanks missile to Ukraine... I don't want to define who is the Good, the Bad or the Ugly, but the fact is that time fly and human still make war. 😢
Simplicity is often beautiful, and you nailed it.
An exercise I like to do (as a 3D environment artist for video games professionally) take a photo/screenshot of what you're working on. black and white it foreground with background. Can you read the shapes? Can you tell whats going on? Is it interesting?
You checked every box here.
it'll be a sad day when your garden runs out of dirt lol, also the tree looks amazing!
Take a shot every time he says "workflow"
Good evening from Italy Night Shift! May i ask you what spray pen would you recommend for a newbie?
I've bought a Tiger I Ausf.H1 a Tiger II early turret design and a late Tiger turret II, i have some Italeri acrylic colors but with brushes im not good
Awesome job!!!!!
Brand of figures and tank kit???
I have been watching for a long time, while you inspired me to print a few German tanks- I primarily make WH30K vehicles. Would you consider working on say, a Legion glaive or a Land Raider
Best notification is one from your channel because you know it’s going to be a work of art im waiting for a 1/35 rfm jagdpanther I got inspired from your jagdpanther
Hey Man, I don't know of any youtuber who I have subscribed to so fast, after only like one or two videos. I would love to see you do a "S" Tank, the Swedish Stridsvagn 103
I …. I …. Just… wow… your skill level is amazing… great diorama, I’m just starting my journey on painting, even if I get slightly close to your basic levels I will be happy
It's called "sea foam" maybe because it grow near the sea, or in sandy soils. Btw, the real name it Teloxys aristata :D
Great video and great diorama, thanks for all 🙏
Amazing skills and attention to detail . I would like to do a dirama like this although I would be scared to not succeed as you have . 10 out of 10 , 5 Star ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️👍
Uncle, can you do bandai 1/35 UCHardgraph Semovente? Odessa, Ukraine war torn ruins environment diorama.
that ending with GF complimenting your artpiece here, I had literally got eyes full of tears. So nice of her. Happy for you two!
Another fantastic build. I’d love to see you tackle a Panzer pushing a disabled/burnt out vehicle off a bridge. 👌🏼
You pronounce the plants you used for the tree "th(igh)me." I don't know Spanish flora or if there is a regional difference, but if the plant is spelled "thyme" in the USA we pronounce it the same as "time." Because English never ceases to confuse...
Love the videos and this is definitely one of your best!
🎉今晩は今夜も貴方の作品拝見させて頂きました🎉❤❤焼酎飲みながら🍺🍶いつも最高の作品はどんな料理より最高のおつまみです🎉
Hey Martin! You don’t have to thank us, if you weren’t that so freaking good, you wouldn’t have so many viewer…
So, thank you very much for being yourself!
I paint warhammer 40 000 but I love your videos man. You should do some warhammer 40 000 videos for just us fans lol. I love hearing your videos well I paint and from time to time I do watch them. Your glazing video on that tank man was so helpfull. Your pin lineing is superb. Thanks so much man for these videos.
I'm glad to see you really happy about this diorama! I remember how down you were about trying to get your videos out on a deadline. At least now you are able to relax more. Another brilliant diorama my friend!!
I'm sold on the new format and I must say I agree with you. You really did take the diorama to a new level. Take care and keep the videos coming!
Amazing work, as usual. While I might wish I had the time needed, it's irrelevant... when I see the skill level here. No amount of time would enable me to do this, lol. While it's tempting to make comparisons to my own (comparatively feeble) efforts, if I avoid it and just remind myself to enjoy seeing this work from a master modeler, then I can enjoy it fully. Just beautiful.
“Like someone cut out a piece of earth”…Interesting 🤔. What if you carried the illusion down the sides? Simulate actual earth crust/layers?
Oh boy, it's that time of the week again!
"i dont like blowing my own trumpet" (but you should your dioramas look simply awesome) "im not into super realism anymore" (it it looks very very realistic) LMAO im getting mixed mesages here
That looks awesome btw
You do amazing work! All your models are fantastically detailed and realistic. I’d like to add your wood flooring looks spectacular as well!
Another amazing work! Sometime can you show how you are painting the small figures details (for example the rifles, etc.)?
Awesome work Martin! You really hit a home run with the groundwork. Your figure painting is getting better all the time and a source of inspiration for me to strive for a better result with my figures. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Hello!! Do you know how this Trees called in Spanish? Or asking Oscar please...
Thank you!!
Absolutely fantastic..... you are right to be proud of this one, its pretty much perfect.
Still begging for you to do something with a Challenger 2 though. 😉😉
Wow! The first look at the diorama was amazing you have improved so much and its awesome to see the improvement and also the channel grow! Great work and keep it up!
We need a Tamiya T-72! It`s a old kit but very common with beginners. It would be really exciting to see what you could do with such a kit!
Beautiful work! Maybe a little less muddy water as you suggested but it still looks great to me. One thing- the soldier on the ground. Since he obviously walked over to the tank through the mud, should there be some footprints leading up to his position. And perhaps his boots could be muddier. Still, overall, great work. Looking forward to more of your builds!
Now that u mentioned it, making a video about making the most out of scraps would be really cool! U could kitbash something and make a frankenstein diorama out of it. I think with this u have the perfect opportunity to use different products and techniques u wouldn't normally
Great vid as always!
Hi, in Chile You can find AK 3rd generation acrylics. I have a good variety but i You must use the brand thinner or You mess it all your works. Real colors are very good but the Mr. Color and Tamiya are very good but their odor stinks.
Stunning work as always, it's so pleasant to watch your videos! The only critique I can think is that the figures need more weathering in their clothes: mud, dirt, grease, oil, just like the tank! cheers from Argentina muh friend!
Hallo, this is my favourite trilogy diorama. Night Shift and Laser creation world are the best I have seen on youtube. Have you considered a diorama in sepia , or black and white only. I think it would be a challenge with a basic range of paints. Thank you for a great channel.
Great I never knew AK were doing them big bags of leaves! I've been buying them crazy priced boxes aswell lol I do have a stamp but the autumn leaves from AK are just so nice
The wood stain is great.
I agree on the water would have looked better with fewer puddles, in fact IMHO the diorama looked better without the water, but that’s taste. Everybody has an opinion, few the skill…
I know this is absolutely ridiculous (what fun is life without a little ridiculous) but have you ever thought of buying one of those mini bandsaws from Micormark? That would be totally perfect for the wooden sides of your diorama, plus it's just really fun to play with miniature power tools!
As always, it is an absolute pleasure to watch you create these amazing pieces of art... look forward to the next.
