  • Here's how to make your own tostada shells!
    If you've ever skipped over a great looking Mexican recipe just because you don't have tostada shells then it's time to whip up your own batch!
    Sure, you can always fry tostada shells in some oil, but once you try baking them in the oven you'll probably never go back to frying them -- cleaner, more efficient, and more sustainable for my kitchen.
    Be sure to use thin corn tortillas -- the thinner ones will crisp up easiest in the oven.
    I usually start keeping an eye on them towards the end of the baking period as the exact oven time will vary depending on tortilla brand/thickness. When they are starting to turn darker brown in color they are done.
