I walk every day now I have been on Mounjaro now my third shot was this Sunday; I have already lost 30 + LBS I only drink water or sugar free Pedialyte for the dehydration that comes with my walks. I am eating rolled oats in the am. baked salmon for lunch and walnuts and apples and 0 sugar yogurt mixed berry and some 1% cottage cheese and I am killing it. I was 356 lbs when I was put on this by my dr. for my sugar going past 280 when I wake before I eat in the morning. Now when I wake my sugar is 95 to 108 when I wake in the first month, I can't wait to see the results after my 4th month! I am so happy depression is leaving my world and I am smiling again thanks to this shot and my long fast as I can go walks! I am recording everything with Fitbit sense 2, and apple watch s8. I am also taking picks of my progression! I pray for each and every one of you to lose this weight and come out feeling great again!!
@@dennishall1312 I only eat Quaker rolled or old fashioned oats for breakfast with nothing but butter and blackberries or raspberries in the morning and lunch is small portions on salmon and a small salad and dinner I only eat a small thing of sugar and sweetener free yogurt and 1% Cottage cheese absolutely no food after 5:00 pm I am no dr. I am not telling you to eat like this . This is what I am doing and I have now lost 50lbs total but I also walk a lot!!
I am on Week 2 of Mounjaro, and I'm stunned by it. From Day 1, my appetite decreased, I felt full more quickly, I don't want to snack, and I feel like I'm healing my relationship with food. I'm understanding what the word "full" actually means for a change. AND my glucose is amazing! I tested a little while ago, and I was at 97. In May, when I was diagnosed as diabetic, my glucose was 382. This drug is a miracle!
I've been a diabetic for some time .. with synjardy my glucose levels would be in the high 200... 280 290... tomorrow will be my 6th day on the 1st week.. ive lost 3 lbs and all week my glucose levels have been in the 90's to 130 being the highest.....one day it was at 86.... ive never seen it that low.. im not hungry and hardly ever crave food... I love mounjaro
@@delladearest2511 Absolutely! My glucose numbers are around 80 to 110 every day now. I’m waiting a bit longer to get my A1c done, because I kind of want to do a “here’s where I was on May 7 of last year and here’s where I am on May 7 this year” thing! But since my one in Dec was so good, I anticipate a drastic difference in a year. MJ doesn’t work for everyone. And you MUST view it as a tool you’re using IN ADDITION TO eating healthy and exercising. Do not go into this thinking that it’s weight loss magic or that you just do a shot and all is well. YOU MUST PUT IN THE WORK and have this as a help to what you’re doing. I see so many people boasting about how they don’t feel like eating on MJ. Or that they’re dropping weight drastically every week. These are the same people that will put all their weight back on. They have not used this medication as it was intended. You MUST EAT. And you should not be losing more than 2 lbs a week, if you want the benefits of this med to stay.
I just finished week 4 of the 2.5 and I am down 23 lbs in 3 weeks (I have not done my weigh in for week 4 yet so we will see) I start the 5 mg shot this Friday and my doctor was shocked I lost that much from the loading dose. It’s amazing and has already changed my life for the better!!!!
I'm on Week 3 of Mounjaro, and zero effects. This happened when I was on Ozempic and it wasn't until I titrated up to 1mg that I actually felt the fullness that everyone talked about. This is really good info though! One thing is that if any medication causes you constipation - chia seeds (crazy amount of fiber). I put them in my morning/breakfast smoothie (chocolate Kachava, crushed ice, unsweetened vanilla almond milk and PB2 - super yummy). First time in my life I have been regular as clockwork (sorry for the TMI, but hope it helps!!)
I'm on week 6 of 5.0 Mounjaro. People look down on it as a crutch, but I have never felt true "satiety" until I was on this medication. My feeling of being "full" or "satiated" before the medication would lag wayyyy behind so I wouldn't feel it until I already overate. If I stopped short, measuring calories and such, I would stop but still feel hungry. I see this medication as correcting a hormone imbalance, a hunger/satiety imbalance. Heck, even the side effects of slower gastric emptying solved my IBS-D. It's wild how long I've been miserable because of these issues, to be gone in literally the first few days of the medication.
@@sarahtripp1443That’s completely dependent on your insurance company and policy, essentially what type of policy your employer provides. My employer paid for a very generous policy. Although I had been diagnosed as type 2 diabetic for many years and had been taking metformin. There was no prior authorization needed when my dr prescribed Mounjaro. They also didn’t question the CGM which I think is a must have on Mounjaro. My insurance policy changed as I think my company wanted to save money. It became more restrictive, i.e. paying for less. Thankfully I still qualified for Mounjaro and my CGM. My copays remained the same and I am able to get a 90 day supply. All you can do is try, but a longterm prediabetic or type 2 diabetes diagnosis with a history of other medications on record at the time it’s prescribed makes it easier. Reason being is many people are going in and getting an initial diagnosis of type 2 diabetes or prediabetic, no other medication and getting the Mounjaro RX. Many insurance companies will not allow it and require other medication regimens first in those cases. It’s an extremely expensive medication. Also a diagnosis of High Blood Pressure and High Cholesterol with type 2 diabetes will also make it easier with insurance. Also if you have a family history of heart disease.
I’m adding I had talked a bit about my journey, I have went from 11 A1C down to 5.9 I am off all metformain sugar meds I am now in full remission from t2 diabetes and am feeling wonderful … I am walking 5 miles a day and eating very low carb diet so it is not just the shot. Hope you all are coming along with me on this journey and are doing well !!! Good luck to the new ones
I'm on week 3 of 2.5mg. My food cravings, especially for sugar and simple carbs, are gone! I've lost 9 lbs so far. This video was very helpful in explaining how to eat better.
I agree with everything Whitney mentioned in this video. I also would suggest that you eat the smallest meal at dinner and at least 4 hrs before bed. I found that if I don’t do this I have gastric distress. Stomach pain is terrible in the morning, then I have to allow for time on the toilet for relief.
This is my 2nd week on Mounjaro. I am pre diabetic. I did have upset stomach and nauseous on the 1st shot but have not had any problems with the 2nd dose. I have lost 5 lbs in my 1st week. I am loving Mounjaro and hope to get awesome results to reverse pre diabetes and to lose weight to be healthier.
I use true lemon and true lime to add flavor to water. It is crystalized lemon and lime water. Its a way for me to not add artificial sweetners but have a good taste
I stop with the beef and the rice, only eat chicken, turkey, center cut lean pork and fish. For snacks the adkins bar when I’m at work. I’m starting 4 week on mounjaro I love it
Just started my first injection Thursday,,, todays Friday and I feel good,,, I’ve gained about 30lbs over the past year and a half from post menopause and stress eating,,, I feel confident this is goi g to get me back on track ,,, thank you for posting these videos,,, so very helpful 👍♥️
I am still waiting on the big results of weight loss with MJ I just started 7.5mg and having irregular heart beat …and I have only lost 10pounds. I lost more with OZ and I am thinking about going back No irregular heart beat with OZ. Kudos to everyone who has lost big with MJ
Excellent presentation, thank you! Just the kind of food guidelines that I needed on my mounjaro diet. I've lost 16 pounds in 3 weeks even being unable to exercise due to a hip issue!
Well, I somehow beat the average. It hasn't even been a month yet and I am down 14.1 lbs.! My doc tells me that beats the average by about 3-4 pounds. He's given me 5mg. Onward and downward!
I’m on day three! I don’t feel much different but I’m on the lowest dosage. I’m excited to see what the future holds. I came across your video and I appreciate you! I have been fighting diabetes and struggled with weight. I have lost a good amount recently but aim to do more. My a1c was 12 and I got it down to 8. So I hope the progress will continue!
@@hershalerv yes! I’m on the 7.5 dosage. I been on it for 2 1/2 months and I’m down 30lbs! I feel better. I don’t feel like I look much different but ppl everyday are congratulating me on my weight loss so I know it’s working! CNt wait to see what the future holds!
I'm the same - lowest dosage is effective for some, but I think some folks (like me) need to reach the therapeutic level. My doc also said for some that it takes time as well. I'm the type though that needs higher doses of medication - even at dentist - takes forever for the numbing agent to kick in. One additional tip - stay away from alcohol - even a glass of dry wine or 2 may cause you to feel more hungry the next day which may cause overeating followed by the next day "too many carbs" hangover … ughhh.. not worth it.
@@Daisy-li3eu thank you for that advice. I am now on dosage 10 mg. I was about 270 when I started this and I have weighed myself yesterday and I am now 229. The weight loss has been incredible and I’m excited to see how much more way I can lose.
I just started this medicine and I can say that this video is super helpful. Although I am in week one and haven’t lost any weight yet I still and hopeful of the goodness it will do me.
I love Mounjaro..Starting week 4 tomorrow and I am already down 9lbs! Only side effect I have is dry mouth. I usually crave salty snacks but since starting this Ive had no cravings and ironically everything tastes salty to me so I rarely use alot of seasonings on my food..win win I say!
That’s awesome!! Yes I actually had two patients this past week report the same side effect of dry mouth so we are trying to help them with increasing fluids and paying attention to different food types that might be worsening it! Can’t wait to hear about your results as you’re able to increase the dosage!
I am SO glad I found your channel!! I'm supposed to begin the shot tomorrow and I'm scared to death. LOL I've heard of people vomiting etc and I just can't handle that. PRAYING that it's not one of my side effects. I always kept wondering what I should eat. Currently, I've been on a low-carb diet (not keto, but under 40 grams) for about 2 weeks and have lost a tiny bit, but not much. I don't have diabetes yet, but I AM pre-diabetic and have not been able to lose ANY weight in the last year or so. This is my last hope before looking more into surgery. I'm 45 and just HAVE to lose this weight. :-(
Beth !! I am in the same boat and luckily I asked my diabetic and had to have dr check into it. Ii finally got a prescription today with only $25.00 copay and did my first injection 20min ago wish me luck !!
I am right there with you Beth as well. I begin my first shot on Monday. I had heard about the Sulfur burpies too and hair loss it causes some people. Yikes!
@@jenniferwelch6840 I have used Nauzene chewable pills for the nausea (won't leave the house without them) and Gaviscon Extra Strength for the acid. They help a lot and I found yogurt on day 2 - 4 helps. Definitely the smaller meals and slow eating have helped. I have been on this drug for 6 months and lost 35 pounds. Days 3 and 4 are the worst for me. My hair is falling out a lot now and I may need to stop using Mounjaro. Although the extreme hair loss did not start until about 5 months in. I have started some hair vitamins with DHT blockers and increasing my protein. I listened to a pharmacist give his theory that the hair loss is from the system being shocked by the drug and a lack of protein. Good luck with your journey.
i started yesterday and i was also concerned about the side affects people talk about but i did not have any of them.... i was not hungry at all yesterday but later in the evening i made myself some chicken and broccoli and i slept like a baby... feeling good this morning too

This video is extremely helpful! Start 2.5 shots 6 wk ago- lost 12 lb in 1st 15 days. I’ve had 2 wk of the 5mg and have lost another 6 lb so 18 lb in just at 6 weeks! I have to remind myself to eat sometimes d/t appetite so suppressed. Your instructions will help me even more! Thank you!
Can I ask what your starting weight was? I just got my medicine today and want to start tomorrow or the next day, so I'm just curious. I only have 30 lbs to lose but I come from a long lineage of t2 Diabetics. Thank you
i,starting monjarou next week ,any suggestions to help with constipation and back pain or nause ? ive beard about the bad side effects including abdominal pain
@@latoyaguion2704 I’ve not had abdominal or back pain. Drink lots of water. It helps you to feel better and with constipation. I have finally gotten a prescription from my doctor for zofran to take for nausea. I’ve closely tracked how I feel and 24 hours after the shot for about 48 hours the nausea and burping can be intense. I at least am never hungry. And I mean never. I can go 18-24 hours and have to remember to eat. ( but am an RN that works night shift and that alone messes with your appetite.) I have now been on it for 5 months- 1 mo at 2.5 then 1 mo at 5 the 1 mo at 7 then finally at 10. My doctor is currently keeping me at 10 mg/ month for now. At the 3 month mark my Hgb A1c went from 10.4 to 6.1 ! Feel so much better. And as of now I’ve lost 50 pounds in 5 months! Also keep colace 100mg you can by at the pharmacy for a stool softener for those times you haven’t ‘gone’ in a bit.
@@latoyaguion2704 Also. DO NOT eat a big meal! You will find out that sometimes even an average size portion will make you feel nausea and bloated immediately! You will see what I mean. An average size meal will feel like you just had a Thanksgiving day meal is how I describe it. I just got back from a cruise. There wasn’t a since night at formal dinner I could eat the 3 courses completely. The days of ‘cleaning your plate’ are done- or just ask for smaller portions which I tried at formal dinner the first two nights and they always brought me the full portion so I stopped asking for half portions and sadly wasted the food sometimes. Also get Keto bread and you’ll feel better if you cut way back on how much starchy things you eat and you’ll feel better too. They just bloat me too much.
NEW SUBBIE! I'm on Week 3 (2.5mg & Non-Diabetic), love your videos, definitely wish I'd found you before starting to prepare my body, mind, and meals. I'm learning alot from your channel and also sharing my Journey on my channel as well! Notification button activated 💞 (down 11.1lbs)
You should NOT have been given Ozempic for strictly weight loss. This is NOT what it was made for. Try Wagovy, which is solely for weight loss and please please leave the much needed Ozempic for diabetics who truly need it. You realize people like you are stealing it from all diabetics who need it?..
I’ve been on Trulicity for awhile. When I first started, I lost about 8-10 lbs, then gained it back. Now, been losing the same 3 lbs over & over! A1C went from 7 to 6.6. But it’s so hard to lose the weight!!! I’m 5’2” and weigh 182. My whole body is in extreme pain from arthritis and fibromyalgia and it’s difficult to walk and carry all this weight!! Also, depression, chronic fatigue and sleep disturbances. I feel Mounjaro could help all of this! On my next appointment with my Endo, I’m hoping she agrees to switch me to Mounjaro! I need to lose about 45 lbs!And I hope my insurance covers it. I’ve been paying Zero $ for all my Rx’s. I’m on WellCare Medicare Advantage Dual and Medicaid with Extra Help. Wish me luck!!
was on 2.5mg on mounjaro for about 2 months...1lb loss. Now, I am on 5mg for about a month. I have only lost about 4lbs. I exercise every day and even switched most of my protein to TVP and doing more vegetarian meals. I am surprised that I am not losing more weight.
I’m in the same boat, I haven’t eaten much sometimes only one meal, but I am going to switch to the smaller meals eaten slowly… hoping to see some improvement…wk 4 10lbs down
Rule of thumb on fruits with high sugar content....."If it's white, it's not right." Bananas have 10 to 19 grams of sugar. Apples, the same. Started on Mounjaro a week ago with 2.5mg dosage. I've been on a paleo diet and though it has helped, no weight loss results to write home about. I'm praying this does it.
I just started Mounjaro and your channel came up pretty quickly, so thank you very much for the straightforward advice and information! I’m a new subscriber as of now, so thank you again! ❤
Diagnosed with type-2 diabetes 3 weeks ago, and just now finished 2nd week of Mounjaro. My best days are the ones where I have a hard-boiled egg and a 4 oz. cup of unsweetened apple sauce in the morning, with 8 oz whole milk. Then a salad and a sashimi plate in the early afternoon. After that I'm done for the day with no hunger cravings. I'm drinking water like a camel to prevent dehydration. Down 15 pounds in two weeks. Hopefully my A1C levels will be down as well next checkup.
My insurance won't cover mounjaro right out of the gate. I was just diagnosed type 2 and my insurance wants to try a bunch of different ones first (trulicity, ozempic and victoza) before they will cover mounjaro.
@@sarahtripp1443 Same here. I have insurance through a Blue Cross Blue Shield group plan at work. But BC/BS in my state will not cover Mounjaro. This leaves me paying 100% out of pocket for it. But $1200 per month is better than where the alternative was taking me. They would pay for the others, but they aren't nearly as effective on the weight-loss aspect as Mounjaro. So for me it was just a health based cost/benefit decision. I'm now into by 6th week. And my thoughts are that all of these are aids to help you maintain a keto style diet, which is where type-2 diabetics should be looking. They will not do the work without a change in eating habits. Mounjaro help me stay on the keto diet far better than I could have without it. Also, that $300 per weekly injection is a great incentive to not put that chocolate nugget in my mouth, grab that sweet Starbucks drink, or get that after dinner desert.
Thanks so much for this video! It explains my upset tummy (eating to fast & not enough meals), better food choices and just the overview of the medication itself was great. Thanks again! Taking new patients👀😂🤗 #week1
I started back in Nov 11 2022. I've since lost 60lbs! This definitely works. But I've changed my lifestyle too. I eat mainly meat/veggies some fruit. Every once in a while I will eat my veggie straws. Better than chips. The only exercise I do is walk 12'000 steps daily... and that I didn't do until this month, actually! I decided that I wanted to just step it up and speed up my weight loss... walking is cheap, easy, foolproof.
Hi just started mounjaro yesterday. Im hopeful to get my sugar under control and lose weight as a bonus. Seeing all the positive comments and videos I’m getting excited about it. When covid happened I got out of the construction business and got a desk job but kept the bad habits and was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes and it’s been down hill battle with my a1c. My goal is to be able to kayak fish for a long period of time and not feel like I’m dying lol
@@amelaamela2459 I’ve lost 15 pounds so far I’m up to 5 mg now and yesterday was my second shot. My wife got me a fire house sub and was eating half and by that time I had full stomach aches. Lol my little girls were shocked by me not eating the whole thing like usual. Minimal side effects.
I SO MUCH APPRECIATE this video! I'm starting Mounjaro 2.5 as soon as my insurance clears it, and having heard the side effects I'm a little nervous. Your easy-to-understand explanation and advice will help a lot, I'm sure. I took notes!
Thank you for this. I’m about to start with the 5mg and I’m excited but nervous because my appetite has been so off for the longest time, and this helps me whittle down what my meal plan should look like
I was on ozempic first and all it did was make me want to eat. It was uncontrollable and i gained so much on it. I was also on glimepiride and tresiba with the ozempic. Right now im just on mounjaro and aside from the constant nausea the first 48 hrs, i have very little desire to eat or snack. It's really keeping my blood sugars stay on track as well. My highest reading since taking mounjaro has been 142. Now that the nausea is gone, im excited to see if it helps with my weight as well as my type2.
Thank you so much for this!!!! I start tomorrow and was nervous. I did trulicity and it really helped my A1C but I didn't see the weight loss. It took since August to get this approved for me and now I feel better about using it!
I lost 50 pounds on mounjaro and was down to 180 but I kept getting gout in my one ankle and could barely walk at all 2 days after taking the injection. It’s an amazing drug. Starting it again and taking a gout med and upping water intake
Idk but, no one seems to be concerned or talking about any long term effects of this medication. It seems they always find out later, after many people, years later, start having medical issues and by then the damage is done. I jumped on the redux bandwagon in the 90's. A few years later they realized it was causing heart issues. I now have a heart murmur, but no other problems from it. In 2007 I had gastric bypass and it's worked. I reached my goal weight of 135lbs after losing 165lbs and have maintained my weight loss for the last 18 years. BUT, I wasn't told of possible long term effects. About 6 years after my gastric bypass, I had gotten osteoporosis in my 40's. Ive had so many fractures in the last 12 years including 4 separate back fractures, arm, toes, feet, etc. At least 15 fractures. I also have vitamin deficiencies even though I take supplements. So, all I'm saying is that with all these get thin quickly methods all have long term side effects. It might be a matter of time but i have no doubt we'll start hearing the nightmares.
I have been on Mounjaro for two months. I have lost 18 lbs. The first month I experienced no side effects, but when I went up to 5mgs per week I have had the worst stomach pains and bloating. It normally starts around day three after my dose then last for three days. I have adjusted my diet to eating small portions and and using meal replacement shakes. When the pain starts I take a gas-x and normally some pepto along with a warm ginger tea. That helps but the symptoms normally last an hour or two and its pretty bad. I don't know if there is a different medicine I can take to help with the side effects?
Thank you for this amazing video!! Mounjaro has done amazing things for my glucose levels. I haven't really focused on the weight loss piece, but I think just walking will help me so much. You also have the sweetest demeanor! New following/subscriber!!! Thank you again!
@@everydaymedicinewithwhitne4425 I was really sceptic at first. All I can say, is thank goodness I started this course of Mounjaro! I started my first injection, which I gave in my thigh, on 09/24/22. On Day 6 and no side effects so far, I feel great and already lost about 3 lbs! I did read a nurse post on Web Md in the comments, that she recommended the thigh as she had weight loss and side effects too! I am not diabetic or pre diabetic, prescribed off label for $25 prescription for one month supply (4 injections). This is the best thing I ever did! I feel great and it could well be because the Mounjaro has reduced my desire for bad snacks and sugar!! Good luck everyone!
You are so helpful!! Your channel has been extraordinarily helpful to me. Thank you! Question: If someone can't get the 10mg of Mounjaro (shortage), has anyone taken the 7.5mg i5 or 6 days apart ? Is a smaller dose fewer days apart a good short term solution - has it worked for anyone? Thanks for all your videos
I'm on saxenda with good results, but as soon as Mounjaro gets approved for weight loss, I'll likely switch. I like the idea of once per week injection rather than daily. This is helpful information. Thanks!
You don't need to wait, your doctor can prescribe Mounjaro "off label" and then you can use Lillys $25 savings card to get up to 12 refills for $25 each until July 1st 2023! After that you can go back to Saxendra or Ozempic for maintenance if your insurance does not cover it. People drop 52lbs in that time frame!
On zepbound (essentially same thing), hunger and food noise so completely gone even on lowest dose I’ve gone 20 hrs with nothing but water and protein powder. Solid food has to be a conscious decision to eat. It’s incredible
I tried a few weeks back the GLP one, and they mixed it with a special B vitamin compound that came in with the shot, and I was so anxious and shaky, my body does not do well with B vitamins, but I would like to try this one without any vitamins in it but I don’t know if anyone has had like neurological side effects like I did foggy mind, extreme exhaustion, anxiety, shakiness, the nausea, I can deal with just fine

Getting ready to begin mounjaro on Monday. Kind of scared. I see the videos of all the side effect- sulfur burping and hair loss and nausea. Just coming off Ozempic which I didn't lose a whole lot. I am Type 2 Diabetic and Hypothyroid. I should probably stay off Google. However, I have heard a few say this is helping them alot so it's worth a shot
I have been on Mounjaro for a few months and am up to 7.5 dose. I definitely notice a big decrease in appetite and cravings for alot of the junk I used to crave alot are almost totally gone. I am diabetic and take both long and short acting insulins and some diabetic meds. I am definitely eating alot less and my A1c has gone down considerably. The only problem seems to be that instead of losing weight, I have actually gained about 20 pounds, from 280 to 300 now😢. The doctor insists that I HAVE TO be eating more than before for me to gain weight. But I REALLY am eating ALOT less because my appetite has really gone down. He doesn't believe me when I say I am eating less. But I used to eat constantly. I would eat all kinds of chips and cookies and cakes and candies and burgers and fries and as much as I wanted everyday, all day. Now I eat twice a day and cannot really eat even half as much as I used to. And I don't crave all the junk anymore, but am still gaining weight. I just started carnivore today. Hopeing that will help move the needle in the right direction. I wonder if it's the insulin making me gain weight even though I am eating alot less. Because I started to gain weight right after I started the insulin. They added the Mounjaro afterwards. So maybe if I wasn't taking Mounjaro, my weight gain would be even higher.
I started on 2.5mg 6 months ago, Im on 15mg now and down 61lbs... By the end of month 1 I was down 23lbs. It started to slow down a bit once i went on 7.5 and I couldnt find the 10mg anywhere so i had to skip that one and go to 12.5 ( NOT recommended) but feel pretty stable on 15mg so far.
Hey, thank u for this nice Video. Monjauro is fresh on the Market in Germany and i took my first shot today. The Doctors are totally uninformed right now :D Helps me a lot. 💚
I tried Ozempic for three weeks. It paralyzed my bowels, gave me pancreatitis, and nearly killed me. I’ll never do that again. Mounjaro doesn’t sound like it would be much different.
@@sheila7814 it has been slow. i am up to 10 mg and i do stay full longer. still no side effects but weight not dropping like i hear some people do. My dr said that this I do have diabetes ( it has helped that though. down to 6.0 a1c) the mounjaro works on the diabetes first. so he explained that people that do not have diabetes will see a bigger weight loss. however, since people with no diabetes take it, sometimes I am unable to get my needed medication because of supply shortage, which SUCKS! I am down about 15 pounds in a year but I am also on weight watchers.
I took the 2.5 ane moved up to the 5 now. I am not losing weight like everyone says they are. I am type 2 and i have lost some inches but it is frustrating that i am not losing weight.
Great video. I just switched from Ozempic to Mounjaro. (Ozempic was giving me terrible abdominal cramps.) The only troubling thing I have with this swtich is that it seems that Mounjaro does not have the cardio benefits that Ozempic has. My cardiologist wanted me on Ozempic because of the benefits it has in preventing heart attack and stroke. Are there any studies that show that Mounjaro has these cardio benefits, as well?
I can tell you that if you were ever taking Januvia and switch to mounjaro you may not have any side effects like I didn’t. Granted it’s my fourth day but it’s been smooth sailing.
Hi there, love this video very informative. Do you happen to know how long the compound process works in the lab? Meaning, I have some coming, and it’s in the compound process. Just want to know if that takes days or weeks. I am super anticipating getting it and cannot wait! Thank you .
Thank you for a great informative video. I have a question, where does dairy fall into this? Can I eat cheese, cream, butter, etc? Also, what about alcohols? Are certain ones safer than others? I very rarely drink anything, but occasionally a White Russian might be nice. Thoughts? And, sorry, one more. I used to be 400 lbs. I dropped to 255 by walking and getting rid of McDonald's. All I have left now is the very firm visceral fat in my abdomen. Should I be expecting slower results from any of this? Thank you for your help. I really appreciate it!

I started Mounjaro 5 weeks ago and I had a weird first few weeks of a journey, and I'm frustrated and confused... Started on 2.5mg and Wk1-Lost 2pounds, Wk2-Lost 18pounds (Not lying-I was shocked), after that week, I've not lost a pound, but also I've not put on any either!!! Wk5 I went up to 5.0mg and still I've not lost anything!!! Please can someone give me some info? I cut all sugars, sweets, carbs out by Week 3, then cut back my portions. I just don't feel hungry and no cravings which is great, and now for 2 weeks I've had no carbs except a wholemeal roll with some cooked meat on, any other meals its high in protein and vegetables, no carbs. I'm also drinking a lot of fresh lime water with a dash of sugar free squash and a vitamin C effervescant as in the evening I take a lot of tablets for my ailments (Bad osteoarthritis). YEs I've not really started any exercise, should I now add this? Please help! What am I doing wrong ?!?!?
I've been on mounjaro since July and I love it. I didn't loose weight until I got to 5mg so far I've lost 10 pounds since being on 5mg doses. Have you tried Olipop plant based soda? They have it in Publix
@Gina Roller I just started 7.5mg this past Friday so far so good. Saturday and Sunday I had really light headache and nausea but after I've been good. Try drinking more water and changing your diet and go far some walks 3 or 4 days out the week.

I take it on Fridays and feel horrible starting about 3 hours later than the entire weekend, this is just my second weekend though. I just can’t really eat or even drink a lot of liquids. I noticed if my stomach has food in it when o take the shot I’ll have a full feeling all weekend, by Monday feel more normal but just eat a lot less. It will really keep your stomach feeling full. And made me sleep ALOT at least one night. I’ll try and update as I go along!
Just had my first 2.5 shot last night! I’m not feeling a bit hungry and it’s 2:00pm! I am going to eat something anyway! I weigh more than I ever have and my A1C is 8! I desperately need this to work……!! ❤ to all of you on this same journey.
38lb down after 7 weeks...have Ehlers Danlos and Pots so struggle with fatigue which is exacerbated for about 24 hours starting around 18hrs after weekly injection and getting some pretty rough reflux but worth it all if my overall health improves 😁
I'm wondering why many people who stop taking the drug tend to regain weight; the reason I wonder is because my mental model is that if I change my body, change my eating habits, and start feeling better, wouldn't I have established a new pattern of eating and exercise that has reduced the size of my stomach so that I'm not hungry so quickly as before? It seems that the drug will help me to establish healthier eating habits, ones that should feel satisfying after a certain period of time, and therefore, can aim to stop taking the drug eventually. Help me with where I am wrong.
Also concerned with others who have questions about the safety of the drug with regard to thyroid cancer. Please help us understand the research and if this is safe.
I just started Mounjaro today. You hit some good points, especially on going for brown foods inside of white. I have some oatmeal that I need to use up but it is instant. Is that ok or do I need to get the old fashioned type? Also, what about cream of wheat instead of grits or cream of rice?
My doctor gave me the month sample of Mounjaro 2.5 for weight loss because the Wegovy (lower doses) are out of stock. I’m suffering with weight loss and high fluid retention and really hope that these weight loss drugs with life style changes will really help me as it is doing with so many people. I really love your video and have subscribed to your channel! Thank you so much doc!
@jaassil I'm down to 265 from 440 lbs. My diabetes is under control and I feel great
I am on Week 2 of Mounjaro, and I'm stunned by it.

What kind of diet was u on
U gotta be kidding wow good for u
Are you on it just as a weight loss aid or for diabetes
I'm on it for both
How are you doing on the 5?
Metabolic reset. The feeling of control and empowerment is uplifting and not to be a slave to cravings and hunger.
I have lost 6.2 lbs on 2.5 first week my week ends tomorrow this is amazing
I was diagnosed with t2 diabetes and since taking mounjaro I went down to pre-diabetes. I'm so happy next step no diabetes
Did your insurance make you try any other prescriptions first before they covered mounjaro?

I agree with everything Whitney mentioned in this video. I also would suggest that you eat the smallest meal at dinner and at least 4 hrs before bed.

I’m about to start with the 5mg and I’m excited but nervous because my appetite has been so off for the longest time, and this helps me whittle down what my meal plan should look like
How much you're paying for each individual injection of Mounjaro? 💉 For me, it's $400 for 4 injections of 2.5mg (1-month supply).
Thank you for taking the time to make this video. Thank you 🙏🏾
Just took my first shot no problem so far glad I found you💜💜💜
I was on ozempic first and all it did was make me want to eat.
Ozempic made me eat more too. I had to get off of it quick.
Thank you so much for this!!!! I start tomorrow and was nervous. I did trulicity and it really helped my A1C but I didn't see the weight loss. It took since August to get this approved for me and now I feel better about using it!
Great advice. Thank you for breaking it down for us in 'layman' terms. Excellent!!!
Really sensible and practical advice here. Being realistic helps longterm.
How are you now, still on mounjaro ?
@@iknowthatiknownot Yes I have lost 93 lbs.
@@nkkdowling1 great
@nkkdowling1 did u up the dose or stayed at 5ml the whole time?
I went all the way to 15 mgs@@iskisk8217
Thank you for this video. I started Zepbound tomorrow and while I'm nervous, your tips were very reassuring.
I’m starting this tomorrow. Thank you for the video ❤
I’m on first week of 12.5 mg monjaro, I love to have ice, seltzer water and lemon juice each day as an alternative to soda or diet soda.
Thank you for this amazing video!! Mounjaro has done amazing things for my glucose levels. I haven't really focused on the weight loss piece, but I think just walking will help me so much. You also have the sweetest demeanor! New following/subscriber!!! Thank you again!
Very beneficial.
About to start mounjaro so this was a helpful video , thank you
I’m so glad you found to video helpful!! Can’t wait to hear about your mounjaro journey! Wish you the best of luck!!
I meant the nurse had no side effects.
just started mounjaro and this video was very informative...thank you for posting~
@@robertusga what does prescribing-off label mean?
Many people don’t realize that, glad you mentioned this. I had CVS fill my RX and ended up paying $0, which was a wonderful surprise.
I've been a t2 diabetic for some time .. with synjardy alone my glucose levels would be in the high 200... 280 290... tomorrow will be my 6th day on the 1st week.. ive lost 3 lbs and all week my glucose levels have been in the 90's to 130 being the highest.....one day it was at 86.... ive never seen it that low.. im not hungry and hardly ever crave food... I love mounjaro
That is so amazing to hear!! Keep up the great work!
For those of us who fast for the benefits of autophagy, how can we meet our nutritional needs in a short eating window of 4-6 hours ?
Good advice. Seems eating resistant starch with meals helps. Glaucomannon too.
Great videos. Love your energy. Very helpfu. ❤❤
You are awesome and this is a great informative video. Thank you
I started on 2.5mg 6 months ago, Im on 15mg now and down 61lbs... By the end of month 1 I was down 23lbs. It started to slow down a bit once i went on 7.5 and I couldnt find the 10mg anywhere so i had to skip that one and go to 12.5 ( NOT recommended) but feel pretty stable on 15mg so far.
How much you're paying for each individual injection of Mounjaro? 💉 For me, it's $400 for 4 injections of 2.5mg (1-month supply).
Omgosh 15, I went to 10 and had to go back to 7.5 but not losing
Hey, thank u for this nice Video. Monjauro is fresh on the Market in Germany and i took my first shot today. The Doctors are totally uninformed right now :D Helps me a lot. 💚
Fellow PA here…. Thank you for the video!
I tried Ozempic for three weeks. It paralyzed my bowels, gave me pancreatitis, and nearly killed me. I’ll never do that again. Mounjaro doesn’t sound like it would be much different.
Very nice presentation for beginners.
Thank you! That was incredibly helpful!
So far your video is the best one that I have found. Thank you so much!
I just started yesterday on 2.5... No side effects at all.. Not even appetite suppression.. hoping that kicks in soon
How did you do? Do you have an update you could provide? Thanks in advance
Just started Zepbound - really appreciate your video with diet modification suggestions. Where in FL are you based?
Same for me. I was on januvia ,no side effects
Very helpful video. Im starting mounjaro today
My Dr prescribed me this for weight loss not for diabetes. I'm waiting to be able to get it from the pharmacy. I'm a slow eater as it is and have been on adipex and after a while adipex seems like it not dropping anymore weight but I dont have an appetite still
I started Mounjaro 5 weeks ago and I had a weird first few weeks of a journey, and I'm frustrated and confused...
Thank you for talking about what to eat
I've been on mounjaro since July and I love it. I didn't loose weight until I got to 5mg so far I've lost 10 pounds since being on 5mg doses. Have you tried Olipop plant based soda? They have it in Publix
I finally lost 6 lbs on 5.0. Nothing on 2.5. I start 7.5 next week, hoping the weight loss will really start. How was 7.5 for you?
@Gina Roller I just started 7.5mg this past Friday so far so good. Saturday and Sunday I had really light headache and nausea but after I've been good. Try drinking more water and changing your diet and go far some walks 3 or 4 days out the week.

@@nancynichols8156Yea after I got my persecution I realized people mostly started on 2.5.
Great video! Thanks!
My doctor prescribed it but the insurance hasn't approved it. Anybody else having/had this problem? What should I do?
I did, paid for it out of pocket with the discount from the site
There is a coupon u can get located on mounjaro website. The cost would be 25
I'm wondering why many people who stop taking the drug tend to regain weight; the reason I wonder is because my mental model is that if I change my body, change my eating habits, and start feeling better, wouldn't I have established a new pattern of eating and exercise that has reduced the size of my stomach so that I'm not hungry so quickly as before? It seems that the drug will help me to establish healthier eating habits, ones that should feel satisfying after a certain period of time, and therefore, can aim to stop taking the drug eventually. Help me with where I am wrong.
Also concerned with others who have questions about the safety of the drug with regard to thyroid cancer. Please help us understand the research and if this is safe.
Exactly

Excellent information thank you.
I just started Mounjaro today. You hit some good points, especially on going for brown foods inside of white. I have some oatmeal that I need to use up but it is instant. Is that ok or do I need to get the old fashioned type? Also, what about cream of wheat instead of grits or cream of rice?
I hope we can have Cream of Wheat. I love that!
