I BOUGHT a WRECK! This was My First Car

- Sadly, there's no fairytale ending to the hunt for my first ever car! It was once a lovely 2005 Renault Clio, and is now a crushed wreck of scrap metal. However, after tracking it down, I had to buy back what is left of it to keep so the memories can live on!
A while ago I started the hunt to see if I could find my first car, that I had owned from 2005-2008 and driven 30,000 miles including so many memories, with an idea that it could be a great addition to my future Shmuseum. With records showing at the time that it was still on the road, we managed to trace it to a used car dealer and then eventually to the owner, however I was just too late...
Right before, it had been involved in a little fender bender, nothing huge but unfortunately enough to write-it off by insurance due to the low value of the car (around £1,000 in good condition) and that meant it had to legally go to a breakers to be crushed. The hunt was well and truly on to try and find it before that would happen but unfortunately it was again just too late, it had become a box of scrap metal.
However, with the help of @tomthecardude, we managed to find the scrap yard that had it, and they helped dig it out and eventually transport it to Dub Customs to now decide what we do next! In some form it needs to be turned into furniture, a sculpture, some small parts, or something so that the memory of the Clio can live on from here. Perhaps we can start unfolding some metal, pulling out various parts from within, maybe get lucky and find the chassis plate, there are lots of ideas floating around.
To go and see it, I was keen to bring out the Senna, both for a drive, but also to have what's left of the first car I ever owned alongside the craziest car that has ever been one of the Shmeemobiles. While this might not have been the perfect outcome for the story, looking at the positive side it will be great to make something of it and in some form keep a part of it forever.
Thanks for watching, Tim

Well I managed to get back my first ever car, but it's definitely not what it was! After hearing it had been involved in a wreck and written off by insurance, the hunt was on to track it down... The question now, is what to do next with it?!
Rip shmees clio
Keep it as it is.
It’s so cool 👍
Get the identical clip you were talking about. That would make more sense for the shmuesuem
Melt it into decorative stuff
Blow it up
Send it over to Goonzquad - they'll get it sorted for you!! It'll be as good as new.
Lol
LOL
You are correct
Lol. So true
Your so right
I feel like shmee is actually heartbroken seeing his car in this state
He is
It sounded like he was gonna cry
I was bloomin' shocked 😭
@@towwell1819 ikr
Yeah well I felt kinda sad for him, not being able to see his first car like this instead of whole or even in the “crashed” state
You should look into Scrap Metal artists and sculpturers. Jason Heppenstall and Helen Denerley make some nice work.
I like the idea of trying to use as much of the car together and having the most identifying features of it centre stage. This is sad but I feel kinda hopeful about it too
Rip clio f
Richard Clock That’s a shout!
Yeah, I was thinking the same thing. I know Stradman has a guy making him a custom ring out of an old exhaust component from his old Supra. There are lots of talented metal workers out there that are true artists.
Thats a fantastic idea
It would be so cool if you put the Renault Clio scrap metal in a glass display piece instead of disassembling it.
Love the "new car" Shmee
Haha, it doesn't feel very new
@@Shmee150 *sad clio noises

I've seen worse cars still on the road
@@Shmee150 does it have the new car smell? 😂
Make it smaller into a cube and put a piece of glass ontop of it and presto instant coffee table for the new shmee storage.
Having a mild cardiac event seeing the Senna parked that close to a chunk of scrap metal, I could just see it falling over and here we go again with the repairs.
just take it to los santos customs, it will be fixed in no time. XD
What do you think the price is for it?
😂😂😜
Los santos is not real right???
Carlos Farrales its a joke

You should have the metal aspects of the car melted down and small 1:18 scale ‘form’ of a clio could be made
What an idea💡 - I agree
Really good ideea
Thats a rad idea! Idk how possible that actually IS, but that would be cool if thats possible
Just what I was thinking. Maybe even use some of the metal to make a Clio body for an electric go-cart. Or a 2-seat golf cart to shuttle folks around the new Shmeemuseum
You could have the metal forged into a cool set of custom knives with McLaren/Mercedes etc. handles.
Or made into a really cool sword.
Plot Twist: The Clio is actually still alive somewhere and Tim bought someone's scrap
we'll see in episode two :)
That would be funny! lol
True tho
There is the dealership forecourt twin that he had as an option of buying as his first car that is still on the road.
We wish.
Perhaps try crushing it / securing it in to a more tidy rectangle (rather than the loose messy cube it is currently). Then encase it in a glass/Plexiglas case to be used as a bar, desk, meeting table, or just a Shmuseum piece. Incorporate some lighting in to it and you've got a real winner of a talking piece.Finding a skilled craftsman to execute this is key.
Otherwise maybe commission an artist to build a sculpture or something with it?
You just know there's a frame machine man out there smee who if you gave him a few grand he would spend a week pulling, heating and straightening it to resemble a Clio again
It would be way more than “a few grand”

Maybe use one of the hubs to make a small table to hold the keys for the Shmeemobiles?! A piece of what sparked the passion there to hold the current fleet in the Shmuseum

Unfold it and put it back in the shape of a Clío... 🙂 that would be awesome museum piece
You could for example make the seals on the doors etc. into picture frames. Personally, I like the idea of keeping the car as a larger piece. You could add a sheet of glass on top of it and use it as a coffee table. Or make the exhaust into a lamp. Another thing that might be cool ist getting the wires woven into something. I don't know if this is practical in any way, but you could maybe have the axles made into some kind of railing. The springs could also just be mounted as decoration on the walls. Just some of my thoughts about it.

Loved your comment about lane etiquette in the Uk, it’s one of my biggest frustrations and was my first comment after my trip to the ring last year!
You can entertain people with a block of scrap metal. That takes a special presenter. Best car RUclipsr out there.
I actually made a joke about you purchasing the scrap when you told us about what had happened to your old Clio and how you had the dream to buy it back and keep it in the collection...
You're a maniac, Tim! And a legend.
aww shmee sounded like he was about to cry when he was talking about the damage
I do love British sarcasm: "it's not exactly roadworthy", LOL!
keep as is. the first thing u see in your shmeeseum in a glass case. showing what u had to what u obtained through dedication.
going from that car to owing the greatest driving machines in the WORLD.
This is a memory purchase and that's priceless. Worth it especially for someone that's successful as you are Tim.

if you have a bar in the museum you can take some smaller things and put them under some glass on the top of the bar and use the metal on the sides of it.

As soon as shmee revealed his first car a pop up banner came up saying new models I was like did shmee make a model of this wreck? And clicked it😂😂
Put it in a box as it is a pour clear resin over it. You’ll end up with the clio in an “aquarium “ that you can display in the shmuseum . Being crushed is part of the car’s story and it should be embraced. It’ll also be safe to walk around it since it’ll be surrounded by resin
That is sad seeing the engine left its like having no friends
Title suggestion: Taking the Senna to the scrapyard!
ur last name reminds me of the organic chemistry reaction
My vote would be a clear acrylic bench/sofa!
put in a box, fill all the way to the top with resin, remove the box and cut a hole in the center to make it a char, then put more resin on top of the hole just enough to cover the metal parts again. a beautiful scrap char
When I saw the title and thumbnail I was like "Damn dude, were the people okay?"
I saw you in the Amg gtr black series reveal trailer 😂

i love how u remember your beginnings and are trying to make something special out of it with your new success!
Moving the car’s to the country side is definitely a smart idea! You will get much more enjoyment out of them. I would love more track content! It’s awesome to see car like yours where they belong!
I can tell you’re nervous when driving the senna, and I don’t blame you 🤣 the Golf who cut you up, I’d of been swearing and hand signals would be sent his way

@@Shmee150 as always love your vlogs CHEERS 😃😃😃

On the bright side, at least you still have the car!
You should make a big glass or plastic case shaped like the original Clio and put the crushed one inside like a display case
You are making me so impatient to get my licence in a few years
Lucky me gets it in 2 weeks
Isn‘t it funny, that they‘ve put the wreck onto a disabled parkingspot? 😂
Didn't even notice
Provided you have enough ceiling height, I could imagine the silver Clio as a sort of Post-Modern Disco Ball...
Suspended on strong cables in the center of your new space, color-shifting LED spotlights could shine up onto the Clio and reflect back down across your entire new garage collection...in a sort of ‘then/now’ starscape projection event!
We make our own luck and your a classic example of that Tim. What a life style
We want a cold start 😂😂
“Rebuild it”
2060 Shmee: hi guys I’m shmee and this is my early 2000s Clio that I’ve been building since 2020.
Two thoughts.
1. It is a bit interesting to simply leave it as the lump it is in you garage as a reminder that this is how they all will end. So enjoy them for what they are, a thing to drive and admire as engineering art.
2. Boat anchor.
You could put a good size portion in a plastic cube on a turn table with colored lights emitting from under it ,up through it. You could have a shop cut a big junk out of it beforehand and use some of the parts like you mentioned. Have fun. ! Chain it down with warning sign' saying do not attempt to drive it away under penalties!
Make a transformer from it!
Shmee: *I bought a wreck*
Me: “that’s weird I don’t recall putting up my life for sale”
GY not original
If you can get it "re-compacted" so that its a tighter more unified block of metal, you should have it cut in half lengthways so you have two cross sections and then lay a sheet of glass over the two pieces so it can be used as a table in the museum
Here’s an idea: make a cast from a clio, 1:4 of even bigger. Use the metal from your clio to make the smaller one and add the vinplate if found on a pedastal and put in under a glass coffee tabel.
and today you have an entire parking garage, shmee has shown that hard work pays off
pfff hahaha! I'm sure he works hard but that's sadly not how things work for an average joe.
Also: I bought my old friends mascred corpses
Build a giant skateboard for it to sit on. Leave it in a cube and make it a decorative piece for your museum.
This is still such a great find, and a piece of the Shmusiem. The story just adds to the character. Keep it as a block.
Turn it into some kinda garage Furniture as well as frame a small piece 🖼 & if after all that something is left, sign it and give it away to US, your loyal subscribers aka fans 😎✌🏾
NO, bro it's his first car and he's gonna turn it back the way it used to be. YOUR SUGGESTION IS STUPID.
6:20: Its Savage, its FEROCIOUS.

Mein got Shmee, I freaking love ur Senna so much and the reactions it gives you, I'm sad the Clio is a cube now but it'll definitely be an interesting center piece in the shmuseum. Can't wait for the future road trips with the Senna 👍👍
Totally agree to take your collection into the countryside where the cars will be far better suited with access to more peacefull roads. A move to Germany is worth considering with all its benefits for motoring and enjoyment.
Sad to see your Clio crushed. Allways an emotional soft spot for our first cars with all the memories they bring back.
Come on Tim, we need some words from you on GT Black Series advertising 🔥🔥🔥❤👍👍👍👍🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Renault really went all out on the design of that new Clio. Looks like it came straight out of a movie (Wall-E)
My vote would be to use it as a base for a conference and/or utility table with glass top. That's big enough to justify it as furniture. Try using a clear zinc sealer to keep it from rusting.
Mate! Just seen your AMG ad! Great job 👍🏾
You should look here in Hertfordshire for your garage. It's sort of in the countryside, very close to London still and there are lots of nice areas too.
Love the spec and on this🙌🏼🤦🏻♂️
Just leave it like that. Display it with some velvet ropes around it. Everyone will ask what it is and you get to say “ my first car the Cleo! ” I love it.
Saw you today on the a2 with your ford gt what a lovely car in real life better then my sliver mercedes lol and made my day giving me the thumbs up back lol 😆
Congratulations 🎉🎉
So badass. Love it!
HAHA, Tim wow, keep it like that, in the Shmuseum, just picture it in your head, you have all the cars in order of acquisition to show your progress, but it starts the first car is a huge lump of scrap metal in that pristine and beautiful garage. There are amazing collections out there, but you'd never see one that begins with a very ugly lump of scrap metal, it's super unique. I would definitely keep the car in that form and put it on some pads with wheels under it to be able to move it around in your garage (so it's a little bit more practical)
Save some of the aluminum to melt down and have someone make a watch band or something that you can wear to remind you of your roots. Then sculpt the pile into a center stand with a glass top like a coffee table or something for the Shmuseum.
Cast small chunks of the car in epoxy. Making those small bits into desk ornaments/sculptures. Put some LED lights underneath illuminating the ornaments/sculptures and sell some as part of a numbered set.
Take it into a sculpture. Take it to a metallic sculpturer and I'm sure they can turn it into an art piece, that can be displayed in your new museum.
Well if that doesn't inspire anyone to success. Work hard at your craft, get good and rest will take care of itself, if your true to yourself. Well done Tim, a bitter sweet moment not catching it in time but an equally good talking point and feature for your future Shmuseum. Take your work seriously, not your self. Loving the new found confidence on the ring too. Your clearly learning and it shows.
You should ask an artist to make something out of it to have a permanent place in your future museum.
I think the fact that is crushed is not as bad as it looks. You were not going to drive anyways and it has a story behind it. I also think that because it is like this it will never get old, because you wont drive it; every time you look at it you will have flashbacks of the experiences you had with it
Edit: you should make it into a clear glass table or hang it in the shmuseum.
I don’t think you should make multiple pieces of something special out of it, I think you should keep it as one but think of something like a area to have a drink at and stand to look at the collection, similar to the collection you were recently at with the bar area but have this as a table to stand at, try to smooth out the edges and make it so there’s no jagged edges and see if you can customize it with a glass table top so while you’re having that drink you can look down at it and find something new each time
When I visit the UK some day I would like to see it in the Shmuseum.
You should try salvaging all the wiring loop and creating the Clio shape with the wires on a wall (and add silver or white LEDs so the shape is visible at night)
You could build a box around it , make a lip and fill it with resin , make a desk with it.
You can actually melt that metal of the remaining car and make a exact copy of your first car with the same molten metal. I think this would be cool collection for you shmuseum and the exact model of your car will remind you of the beautiful moments with the car....
I get so emotional from this video. I'm a person who gets emotionally attached to things with memories (especially cars), and *because* of this video I made my brain build this tribute Clio which has the same exact specs as your first Clio. I ended up with a carbon fiber monocoque chassis and a V6 coming from the Jaguar XJ220 sitting in the middle a la Clio V6.
EXACTLY the opposite of what your first car is, Shmee
I think that you should buy a plot of land, build a museum for all of your cars and have it open to the public and right in the center have the clio encapsulated in a glass case
