Fun fact: The animation for Corpse Bride was done so buttery smooth and perfect, people kept thinking Burton made it using CG and not stop motion! He did not like this, as he's pretty proud of his stop motion style, so when Frankenweenie was made, he cut back just a bit on the smoothness of his animation to show it really was stop-motion.
It was advertised as stop motion. There were even special behind the scenes specials on how the movie was made aired on some TV stations. It's crazy that people still didn't know it was stop motion.
The story starts with an arranged marriage. The bride's side is poor, but has reputation and a high place in society, meanwhile the groom's side is rich, but they aren't so popular. Each family wins something in the marriage, one wins money, the other prestige.
I'll clarify that it's not just about "prestige", it's about aristocracy and inherited nobility -- as opposed to the newly rising rich classes (created via industry and commerce). So the poor (but aristocratic) family takes some wealth, the wealthy (but commoner) family gets to have a member with a noble title.
This movie was perfection. The bittersweet ending shows the movie was Emily's story all along. She never got to find true love or get married with a partner, and not everyone does. She learns to love herself and accept that her life was unfairly cut short.
1:53 Fashion nerd here. Corsets actually don’t hurt at all and don’t damage your body unless extremely tight laced (which rarely ever happened and physically couldn’t be done until metal eyelets were invented). They basically just functioned as bras and supported your back against layers of petticoats. I really wish they never went out of fashion :((
@@cartooncrazy9883 depends on the ‘modern day corsets’ you’re referencing. There’s certainly waist trainer style corsets that people use to get a more defined figure but many are made for fashion purposes by those (like me) who prefer older styles :) (also in the video they were using the past tense for historical corsets so that’s why I was referring to them solely)
glad you commented this. movies and shows always exaggerated corsets so people always think they were painful but it was the totally opposite. obviously they could be painful if you did it too tight like you said but that never happened. it was basically like a sports bra
The original corsets were pretty much very big bras/back support. Even a few men used them. The constrictive corset came later and (for the most part) its prevalence is exaggerated.
As a tiny kid, the end of Lord Barkis terrified me, mainly because when the chef zombie said "New arrival..." she had a fork in her hand which made me think the zombies were gonna eat him. Watching now I'm still not sure if they were just gonna give him Hell or if my assumption as a kid was correct.
I'm so glad you caught up with Victor's "I would never marry you", yeah, he didn't mean it personally, but he chose the worst phrase to say he would never marry a corpse. That entire scene is painful because both are right 😢
About Victor and Sparky: Frankenweenie was a short film made in 1984 and one of Tim Burton's first works, about a kid named Victor who brings back his dog Sparky to life, years later they made a full stopmotion movie expanding the story (kind of funny because Burton was fired for the short film because Disney tought that it was to scary for kids). In Corpse Bride Victor and Sparky's names are more of a easter egg referencing the short.
I work around corsets (and people who work with them) ((thanks for the ren-fair)) and as long as its propperly sized and used corsets are actually pretty cool and dont hurt. the way people look at corsets now is kinda like looking at a ring two sizes small and saying "oh rings just suck, you should never wear a ring, its torture" when a real good corset, worn appropriately and the like can feel great. A bit of corset facts: they should NEVER hurt, they merely are meant to add structure and smooth the silhouette. They were essentially the precursor to the Bra. They're also NOT hard on the body and if they do feel uncomfortable they're probably too tight, or something is wrong with the fabric. Additionally, corsets are pretty much the exact same as they were when they were first created. The only difference is the material used for boning, modern corsets have steel or plastic whereas historical corsets were made with whale bone. Finally, a corset can be put on alone because they're not meant to be that tight. Hollywood loves to make corsets look like torture machines but they're just another clothing item😂😂😂😂 In fact, tight lacing of a corset was seen as distasteful and was usually done by prostitutes. The look of a small waste was usually achieved by adding padding to the bust and hips to make them look bigger in comparison to the waste. Btw, love this movie with a burning passion❤❤❤❤

Like a lot of modern stories, this one was actually inspired from an old folktale, specifically one with Jewish origins. And like with a lot of original fairytales, It was kinda more fucked up. It was called The Finger and the premise was basically the same, a young groom playfully but accurately recites his vows on what he believed to be just a root sticking up from the ground the night before his wedding, when to his horror, a corpse with a wedding veil emerges screaming that they are now wed. It’s heavily implied that the corpse bride was a victim of a real life atrocity that occurred in early Russia. Where vicious antiSemites would kidnap Jewish brides before they could be wed, kill them, and then bury them in unmarked shallow graves. The story has a kind of a happy alternative ending, or at least a cathartic one. When the corpse confronted the groom on the day of the ceremony, the rabbi was able to successfully annul the marriage in a Jewish court of law (Yes they actually took this to court). The bride was given a proper burial ceremony with her family to lay her spirit to rest, and the groom was able to marry his actual bride, who promised the corpse that the memory of her tragedy would not be forgotten. The really weird thing is that Tim Burton was fascinated with the fable aspect of the ghost story but specifically chose not to acknowledge the Jewish ties to the story to make his movie more “universal” (or in his words “wasn’t really interested in what the real ethnic origins of the tale were”) It’s really interesting to compare this whole situation with that of the more recent stop motion Pinocchio movie by Guillermo del Torro, who chose to implement the fascist regime of Mussolini as a historical backdrop for the film which greatly ties to the Italian origins of the fairytale. I’m not saying this lessens the quality of Corpse Bride by any means, because clearly a lot of labor and passion went into making this film, but it’s sad to know that the director believed that Christian Victorian England characters would be considered more universally appealing. Additionally, a lot of people, including myself, didn’t know that pogroms like this were a thing in real life so that just adds to the tragedy of reinventing a story by stripping it of its historical context. That’s what makes stories like The Finger, or any fables, so fascinating, because the people who wrote them, wrote about the fantastical to digest the terrible that was experienced at the time.
I think making it an ethnic thing would add another layer of meaning to the story that he wasn't really interested in having. The film is dark in a fun thematic way but isn't really dark in a way that ties into real life.
Corsets can be a controversial topic, but basically there are many types of corsets, as well as different types of material for corsets. There were some types that are depicted in media that shows it basically pushing the ribs inward, and those could cause some internal damage. But the more popular type, and more commonly worn, were actually quite comfortable and helped women maintain a straight posture. It also depended upon other factors such as your economic status, personal preference, natural stature, time period, and corset material. I have actually worn corsets due to back issues, as it helps as a natural support. So technically yes, certain types of corsets were worn by a select few to maintain a very very narrow waist made of improper materials that caused organ damage, but most were fine.
Any time you see claims from medical professionals about women wearing corsets and those medical professionals existed before anesthesia was a thing you should doubt every word. It is highly unlikely anyone was able to actually damage their organs with a corset.
I spent all of my musical learning ability on Clarinet. I understand reading single notes, and that will never change. Trying to read multiple notes, at once, will forever escape me. However, I'm SURPRISINGLY good at learning piano songs through ear. I know which keys are which notes, and from there I just learn songs by listening.
piano is one of the only instruments where you are able to play the bass line and the melody simultaneously (whicj i think is pretty damn cool, i’m in the process of learning). if you are playing a full song and not just accompanying, the left hand plays the bass line and the right hand plays the melody. also, spider silk is stronger than steel so holding a suit together with it seems perfectly plausible lol
My mother and grandmother play piano and as far as what y'all were saying. Yes, traditionally the left hand plays they rhythm/bass part and the right hand plays the melody/solos, but they make left-handed pianos now, so as long as you can read sheet music you can learn to play left hand dominant, however learning to play left handed means you wouldn't be able to play unless you had a special keyboard.
I think Victorias family has old money so they have a long history with being high up in society even tho they technically don’t have it in money they have it in assets and name , Victors family I think is new money so they are well off but don’t have the respect the old families have so by marrying it’s a win win as his family gets the name and her family gets the money
My sister (she's goth so that's why she wears them) wears corsets and according to her they aren't uncomfortable unless you wear them really tight, but she also puts them on herself and doesn’t cinch her's so idk if that is always true.

Corsets weren’t actually bad, and were rarely tight laced. They are actually quite comfortable if tailored to fit you right and gradually broken in. And as somoeone with back pain, they are great for support. And yes, you can lace a corset yourself.
While the movie portrays a very traditional arranged marriage, during the era this movie was set in, it was actually more common for couples to have a period of courtship where they would meet under supervised circumstances and get to know each other better before deciding to marry. Definitely not as restrictive as Victoria's parents are lol
Is no one going to talk about how the overworld is bleak, grey, lacking in any life, meanwhile the literal dead people in the underworld are full of life, their world is colorful, vibrant, energetic? It's genius to incorporate those ironic opposites into this.
I definitely recommend ParaNorman it’s one of my favorite Halloween movies. On a non spooky note 2 stop-motion movies I really enjoy and The Fantastic Mr Fox, and Kubo and the Two Strings. I don't know if you watched these yet but if not they are a good watch!!
When they were trying to figure out who Barkus reminded them of, I have a feeling he was thinking of Jay Leno, the late night host and car enthusiast. I love when they saw the picture of Robbie Rotten; he always made me think of a 'real' version of Waluigi xD
If a corset is uncomfortable, it is either new, poorly made, or doesnt fit you. Tight lacing was when a corset was tightened to make the waist smaller (how pn all corsets are portrayed today) and it was actually kind of a meme back then.
I’d definitely recommend paranorman, one of my favourites and really funny. I would say frankenweenie isn’t the best of tim burton, but still an underrated and a sweet story to watch- it meant a lot to me when I was younger, having my own dog also called sparky pass away not long before I first saw it.
I'm so happy that you enjoyed this movie. :) My husband and me used the vows from this movie for our wedding, the wine, the three steps and the candle. lol I was so nervous that I needed help lighting the candle. XD
Frankenweenie is a great movie-not actually connected though haha. Aside from character names and looks, they’re different stories, mostly evident by the different time periods. Doesn’t stop people from liking to connect the movies though (kinda like the Pixar Theory) Very excited for more Spooky Month videos!!
I do have a fondness for Corpse Bride, it's quite a bittersweet tale though, paced almost like a Penny Dreadful. For other stop motion works I would recommend if you haven't already there's Paranorman and Kubo and the Two Strings, both done by LAIKA who did Coraline, the Wes Anderson stop-motion films (Fantastic Mr Fox or Isle of Dogs, can't go wrong with either), and Wallace & Gromit, by Aardman the Grandaddy of Stop Motion, Curse of the Were-Rabbit is fun and fitting with the current season, but I would say that Aardman's best work is The Wrong Trousers.
I love watching the 5 movies of Halloween from time to tim b, nightmare before Christmas, 2 corpse bride, 3 Franklin weenie, 4 Caroline, 5 paranorman. Every year. Also love how so many voice you can hear in each movie. Rip to the Mr lee. Fan theory is that dog is linked to Franklin weeine :)
Fun fact! There is such a thing as a left handed piano! I am left handed too, and though I tried to learn piano as a kid I struggled due to this. So I am excited there is such a thing as a left handed piano now. Also there is apparently a difference between every day corsets that the common woman and poor woman wore back in the day and the fancy rib cage crushing corsets that people know of that needed a second person to lace up. The every day corset could be done by one person and wasn't nearly as painful as the famous ones. The famous ones were for rich people to look fancy. And I agree please do Paranorman!!!!
I'd absolutely love to see you guys react to more Halloween-y Stop Motion movies like ParaNorman and Frankenweenie :D I'd also recommend Boxtrolls and Kubo And The Two Strings as great Stop Motion movies that could work for Halloween, they're both from Laika studios just like Coraline and ParaNorman
Here’s a little known fact that will buckle your mind about courses around the time of the Civil War Corsets, we’re not just being worn by women, In some private schools, men were required to wear corsets, and they were encouraged to shrink their waist, using the corset by at least an inch a year. It was called the wasp waist.
Corsets aren’t just lingerie now, though they sometimes are. There’s lots of alternative fashions that still involve corsets, but most folks either hardly tighten them at all or have done their research to do so as safely as possible. They also can provide a surprising amount of back support and stuff
I know my request would be drowned out in the sea of Commons but I'll give it a shot. For Halloween I would recommend Wallace and Gromit curse of the were-rabbit. As a matter of fact just watch the short films of Wallace and Gromit. They're all great.
Corsets are actuallt quite comfortable, the problem is if you don´t know how to lace it up properly OR choose to tight lace it. doing it correctly it just gives you suport (You take a DEEP breath in before tightening it so that when you tie it you have the suport BUT litteral breathing room. the trend of tightlacing was not as common as media has made it seem, many acctresses that are in period movies that complain about the corset has most likely experianced tightlacing becuse the dresser was not familiar with how to tighten and when to stop. tight lacing is when you breath out trying to get all the air out and have someone lace you in as tight as possible.
The darkest part about this move to me has always been when Emily says she was left for dead meaning the blow to her head just knocked her out and he didn´t check or didn´t care and burried her ALIVE.
32:14 i absolutely adore the lazy town rabbit hole y’all went down. I was aging out of the Disney jr esque line of tv shows when it was airing but I remember loving there few episodes I did watch
I always watch this movie with my sisters back then. I still hope you guys will give 9 (2009) a watch later on this month. Also maybe Cloverfield & Blair Witch Project would be pretty good.
I saw a theory thats probably not true but it was pretty much that theyre a the same characters. Frankenweenie: Victor and Sparky Corpse Bride: Victor and Scraps Nightmare before Xmas: Jack and Zero
The corsets weren't that bad back in the days, even the men used some. It's nice you guys didn't hate Victoria, in the fandom, some people give her to much hate. 😢 Aside that, you guys never heard of Lazy Town?? That show was one of the best thing I saw in my childhood, and the protagonist was a beast.
She wasn't butterflies. The afterlife that we saw is the equivalent of purgatory. And the real other side we never saw. But that's where Emily went when she turned into butterflies. You stay in the equivalent of purgatory until everything is resolved. Even the ancient Greeks a version of that it was called the fields of mourning.
This is my favourite movie. I used to watch this over and over again throughout my childhood❤ And the Lazy Town reference omggg, loved watching that so hilarious!!!
This talk about being able claim to be anything in the past and people just went with it, is the exact premise for A Knights Tale starring Heath Ledger and if you hsvent seen that movie you definitely have to. Its one of my favorite movies ever!
Please please please please do paranorman next, Frankenweenie is also effing incredible, but hella sad in my own opinion. but please they are both such incredible films
16:03 probably also in part because of Nightmare before Christmas. All these movies (Nightmare BC, Coraline, Corpse Bride) have a very similar feel to them. NBC was directed more by Henry Selick than it was Tim Burton. Henry Selick did however direct Coraline. All these 3 movies are stop motion and all have the same feel and tone so I wouldnt be surprised that Coraline (another macabre stop motion kids film) has people thinking its Burton again
I’m very sad about the Adventure Time reactions, I’ve just started to revisit the series and wanted to see you guys vids on the series, hope the situation gets solved 👍🏻
The corset should not be painful They are actually great support for the back and posture. It is shown being laced too tight because the character being laced is gasping for air which is not how it’s supposed to be laced.
I really like Bonejangles as a character but I never got how a skeleton that was into jazz and skitted about existed in the Victorian era and how he was in that area of London if Jazz was first produced in Louisiana.
Another fashion nerd here. Corsets actually are worse today then they were in the past. In the past corsets would have a spot for your stomach and would just be used as support (think of it like a push up bra and padding around your waist). Women could still breath completely fine and weren't restricted (There were also maternity corsets as well). There is a lot of misinformation about the corset moving organs because medical wasn't good in the past and there were no female women doctors so the diagrams and records were up to a male's imagination. Corsets that are made today aren't made corectly and because of that can cause problems like being uncomfortable, brusing on the hips, and restrictions of breathing. Historical corsets were measured and made to your body while present corsets just go with the normal measurements small through extra-large and don't have the spot for your stomach. I know someone once asked their doctor if they could wear a historically accurate maternity corset during their pregnancy and once the doctor saw how it fit on them, they said it was completely safe. Remember back then the skinny waist was an illusion and corsets were for support, while today corsets are being used as waist trainers to get a physically thinner waist.
I love the love for Emily in this video; don't get me wrong, I like Victoria just fine, but I greatly prefer Victor and Emily - also refreshing to hear not considering being undead a red flag XD I mean if they talk and think and all that, who even cares? Well, beyond possible diseases rofl
Pretty sure corsets now adays are often worse for you then the historical ones, because they aren't made to be common underwear and thus aren't made to be actually comfortable.
Fun fact, Corsets are the opposite of painful! Once you learn the actual history of corsets and how supportive they are to your bust and back, the only painful things in scenes like those are how painful inaccurate it is :')
FYI- traditional corsets were not painful. For the regular woman, they were just bras with front and back support, and were tailored specifically to the woman’s body. The only women who laced tight enough to cause damage were the high society ladies, because they were the only ones who could afford to lose mobility. Funny enough, corsets nowadays are far worse, just because they’re mass-produced (so very few women own one tailored specifically for them), and they’re way easier to tightlace.
If you want to go back in time and impersonate a lord, THE thing you need to sell it is clothes. You weren't even allowed to dress outside of your station up to a certain point. A noble had to present, and other nobles sniff that shit out. Watch Ever After 1998
The whole corsets are painful thing is pretty overexaggerated. They were pretty much the same amount of comfortable as bras. They worked similary too, they supported the bust plus the back and layers of skirt. Because nobody except super high fashion people and only for special occasions would lace them tight. Which makes sence, since women of all social classes wore them. They wouldn't be able to go to work in a factory if they needed a fainting couch because they couldn't breathe, would they? In fact modern corsets are often worse because they're not made to the weaters measurements or just straight up cheap.
The talk of old and new money reminds me of that one scene in Bully. "Are you british?" "Uh well no, my father is a self made man so we're "neuvo Risch' I'm just very insecure so i predent to be old money."
in the Victorian era it was improper for men and women (I believe who are in a relationship/to be wed.) to be alone in the same room together without someone accompanying them, that's why the one lady made a big thing over it at the start!
Fun fact: The animation for Corpse Bride was done so buttery smooth and perfect, people kept thinking Burton made it using CG and not stop motion!
I'm 30 and have been wearing corsets often for the last 15 years. Love them. If you can't breath or have bruises, you're doing it wrong.
Corpse Bride was one of my favorite movies growing up. I’ve always loved stop motion movies and highly HIGHLY recommend Paranorman!
Robbie: "Are you, uh, a real villain?"
Bobbie: "Well, uh, technically... nah."
Robbie: "Have you ever caught a good guy, like, uh, like a real superhero?"
Bobbie: "Nah."
Robbie: "Have you ever tried a disguise?"
Bobbie: "Nah, nah..."
Robbie: "Alright! I can see that I will have to teach you how to be villains!"
Hey!
We are Number One
Hey!
We are Number One
Now listen closely
Here's a little lesson in trickery
This is going down in history
If you wanna be a Villain Number One
You have to chase a superhero on the run
Just follow my moves, and sneak around
Be careful not to make a sound
(Shh)
(No, don't touch that!)
We are Number One
Hey!
We are Number One
We are Number One
Ha ha ha
Now look at this net, that I just found
When I say go, be ready to throw
Go!
(Throw it on him, not me!)
(Ugh, let's try something else)
Now watch and learn, here's the deal
He'll slip and slide on this banana peel!
(Ha ha ha, gasp! what are you doing!?)
Ba-ba-biddly-ba-ba-ba-ba, ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba
We are Number One
Hey!
Ba-ba-biddly-ba-ba-ba-ba, ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba
We are Number One
Ba-ba-biddly-ba-ba-ba-ba, ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba
We are Number One
Hey!
Ba-ba-biddly-ba-ba-ba-ba, ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba
We are Number One
Hey!
Hey!

Corsets weren’t actually bad, and were rarely tight laced. They are actually quite comfortable if tailored to fit you right and gradually broken in. And as somoeone with back pain, they are great for support. And yes, you can lace a corset yourself.
YES!!!! THE CORPSE BRIDE!!!! One of my all time favorites! Please do Paranorman next if you haven't already! Another great stop-motion film!
While the movie portrays a very traditional arranged marriage, during the era this movie was set in, it was actually more common for couples to have a period of courtship where they would meet under supervised circumstances and get to know each other better before deciding to marry. Definitely not as restrictive as Victoria's parents are lol
The ending where she passes on still gets me choked up
still have to sway everytime i hear Victor’s Piano Solo, such a banger.
Is no one going to talk about how the overworld is bleak, grey, lacking in any life, meanwhile the literal dead people in the underworld are full of life, their world is colorful, vibrant, energetic? It's genius to incorporate those ironic opposites into this.
they did
Día de muertos in México be like
I definitely recommend ParaNorman it’s one of my favorite Halloween movies. On a non spooky note 2 stop-motion movies I really enjoy and The Fantastic Mr Fox, and Kubo and the Two Strings. I don't know if you watched these yet but if not they are a good watch!!
Kubo and the two strings has some behind the scenes videos showing how much goes into a single scene. Also a great movie!
My husband and me used the vows from this movie for our wedding, the wine, the three steps and the candle. lol I was so nervous that I needed help lighting the candle. XD
Frankenweenie is a great movie-not actually connected though haha. Aside from character names and looks, they’re different stories, mostly evident by the different time periods. Doesn’t stop people from liking to connect the movies though (kinda like the Pixar Theory)
Very excited for more Spooky Month videos!!
I always rewatch this during spooky month one of my personal favorites 🎃 glad to see you guys reacting to it 🤞🏻
I love the conversation that happens musically between Emily and Victor when they do their duet😊😊❤❤
so you know how really little kids have their movie that they just watch over and over, for me that was corpse bride 💀 still watch it every october
16:34 Me, 19, wearing a jack skellington beanie: YESSSSSS
40:49 while yes, some spiders naturally weave strong webs, there are also silk spiders. Who create actual silk.
I'd absolutely love to see you guys react to more Halloween-y Stop Motion movies like ParaNorman and Frankenweenie :D
I'd also recommend Boxtrolls and Kubo And The Two Strings as great Stop Motion movies that could work for Halloween, they're both from Laika studios just like Coraline and ParaNorman
Here’s a little known fact that will buckle your mind about courses around the time of the Civil War
Corsets, we’re not just being worn by women,
In some private schools, men were required to wear corsets, and they were encouraged to shrink their waist, using the corset by at least an inch a year.
It was called the wasp waist.
Corsets were actually rather helpful for preventing back pain. It was tight-lacing which was harmful, but that's a whole seperate thing
I can not believe no one is defending the late Stefán Karl Stefánsson (Robbie Rotten) ... dude was an icon and gave us such a great villain song
I would love it if you watched Wes Anderson's stop-motion animated movies. I think you would love them
I saw a theory thats probably not true but it was pretty much that theyre a the same characters.
Frankenweenie: Victor and Sparky
Corpse Bride: Victor and Scraps
Nightmare before Xmas: Jack and Zero
The corsets weren't that bad back in the days, even the men used some.
It's nice you guys didn't hate Victoria, in the fandom, some people give her to much hate. 😢
Aside that, you guys never heard of Lazy Town?? That show was one of the best thing I saw in my childhood, and the protagonist was a beast.
spider silk clothes do in fact exist.
Corpse Bride and Coraline are my two favorite stop motion films! And I would love to include the vows from Corpse Bride in my future wedding.
I used to watch this over and over again throughout my childhood❤
And the Lazy Town reference omggg, loved watching that so hilarious!!!
You should definitely see kubo and the two strings the stop motion and story is phenomenal!
This talk about being able claim to be anything in the past and people just went with it, is the exact premise for A Knights Tale starring Heath Ledger and if you hsvent seen that movie you definitely have to. Its one of my favorite movies ever!
Y'all are genuinely just as entertaining as the media you guys react to.
Труп невесты - один из моих самых любимых мультфильмов Тима Бёртона. Очень жду вашу реакцию на другие мультфильмы Тима Бёртона)))
Please please please please do paranorman next, Frankenweenie is also effing incredible, but hella sad in my own opinion. but please they are both such incredible films
Oooh this movie, I much prefer Coraline on atmospheric spooky films, but this one is still beautiful.
16:03 probably also in part because of Nightmare before Christmas. All these movies (Nightmare BC, Coraline, Corpse Bride) have a very similar feel to them. NBC was directed more by Henry Selick than it was Tim Burton. Henry Selick did however direct Coraline. All these 3 movies are stop motion and all have the same feel and tone so I wouldnt be surprised that Coraline (another macabre stop motion kids film) has people thinking its Burton again
gotta love when there's huge audio cuts at important scenes :)
I know, it’s almost like there’s copyright issues we have to battle or something. Weird
The tensile strength of spider silk is stronger than steel.
I’m very sad about the Adventure Time reactions, I’ve just started to revisit the series and wanted to see you guys vids on the series, hope the situation gets solved 👍🏻
One has money, and the other has a title. You can't buy a title in theory. But you can marry into one. Which is what they're doing.
The corset should not be painful They are actually great support for the back and posture. It is shown being laced too tight because the character being laced is gasping for air which is not how it’s supposed to be laced.
Would anyone like to see more Scooby Doo movies on here?
Only if it’s mystery incorporated from CN
This movie is truly tragic and beautiful and I can't help but cry when Emily finally moves on...
I really like Bonejangles as a character but I never got how a skeleton that was into jazz and skitted about existed in the Victorian era and how he was in that area of London if Jazz was first produced in Louisiana.
50:04 This part made me cry so much 🥺
The Nightmare before Christmas would be so fun to watch now
Another fashion nerd here.
40:46 Fun fact spider webs are stronger then steel
Pretty sure corsets now adays are often worse for you then the historical ones, because they aren't made to be common underwear and thus aren't made to be actually comfortable.
This and Sleepy Hollow are favorite Tim Burton films
I think the actor you’re thinking of who resembles Lord Barkis is a young Rutger Hauer. Maybe?
I wonder if Ruff has seen the 1991 Paul Berry Sandman stop motion
Damn, all it took for my man to consider necrophilia was her talking to dogs.
Fun fact, Corsets are the opposite of painful! Once you learn the actual history of corsets and how supportive they are to your bust and back, the only painful things in scenes like those are how painful inaccurate it is :')
A young unmarried women meeting with a man without a chaperone was a big no no
At least it was among the upper classes. I don't know how much lower working classes cared.
Next year's hit isekai: In Another World with My Inkjet Printer
Petition for these guys to watch Lazy Town please!!! Or at least to certain song and clips!!!
Omgggg yes, my favorite movie! Came for Steven Universe and stayed for the top tier content 😂😂😂
Watch Ever After 1998
Hearing y'all discussing history is as painful as I can imagine it would be for y'all to hear me discussing video games. 😂
"Are you british?"
"Uh well no, my father is a self made man so we're "neuvo Risch' I'm just very insecure so i predent to be old money."
in the Victorian era it was improper for men and women (I believe who are in a relationship/to be wed.) to be alone in the same room together without someone accompanying them, that's why the one lady made a big thing over it at the start!
shes got nothing but green flags and voiced by helena bonham carter. The greenest flag
