One of the things I realized after growing up is that Gothels plan wasn’t just going to use her hair for the rest of Rapunzel’s natural life. That witch was gonna straight up keep her locked up in that tower FOREVER.
42:05 Fun fact! The whole magical tears thing is from the original fairy tale! The witch makes briars rip out the prince’s eyes, but when Rapunzel finds him (after giving birth to twins and wandering the desert bald for two years), she cries on his empty eye sockets and the eyes heal back!
If I remember correctly, Zachary Levi auditioned for Flynn Rider because he wanted to voice a character in Kingdom Hearts. I found that both hilarious and oddly heartwarming to know he was such a fan of the series that he’d do that.

Man this is such a good movie and strong start to the 2010s for Disney animation. Kinda sucks that it got overshadowed by Frozen and then the Marvel and Star Wars and the crappy remakes. It’s fun and classic, has a great villain, beautiful animation and music. It definitely fits with the 90s Disney films even though it’s CG animated.
@@BlackGirlMarvel Frozen came out after and exploded so much that all people talked about was Frozen, and Tangled got much less attention thanks to that
Unfortunately, I wouldn't say it was overshadowed by the others. Marvel and Star Wars are wildly different demographics and Frozen came out 3 years after Tangled. If Tangled was going to catch the world in fire, it would have within those 3 years.
With a budget of $260 million, it's not only the most expensive animated film in Disney animation history, but it seems they've really taken a page from Shrek's meta humor and spun it into their own with Tangled! I still think this movie was robbed of an Oscar win for Best Original Song. I See the Light is quite a heartfelt song. If you guys ever catch the Oscar performance of this song where Mandy and Zach sing this live, it's quite phenomenal. The animators working on this film had to create new animating technology/techniques to be able to make all of this happen, making Tangled the most expensive animated Disney movie they've ever made. I can't imagine how grueling it must've been, but they pulled it off perfectly. Kudos to the team.

My favorite fun fact about this movie, Rider's voice actor, Zachary Levi, has said one reason he took the role was for the chance that he could be in a Kingdom Hearts game and he got that wish with Kingdom Hearts 3.
It's amazing how different this movie sounds in the original audio. Here in Brazil they called several professional voice actors, but Flynn was voiced by a TV presenter who didn't know anything about acting, and that just killed the movie for a lot of people here.

This movie was originally in 3D. I saw it in theatres and that scene with the floating lanterns was amazing, and clearly made to take advantage of the 3D.
Tangled is an Underrated Classic, so is the tv series that follows it. (i'm still mad at Disney's excuse of not making spin-off shows of certain characters because of ''lack of popularity'' or something)
From what I heard, lack of popularity was was not the problem. The problem was that the people in charge at Disney thought that making a series focused on characters that watchers would not know if they had only seen the movie would not be a good use of money (which is still Disney’s fault because if Disney+ wasn’t so expensive, more people would see the show and therefore more people would know the characters from the series)
I got the answer for H-man's question on her stopping to age herself: No, she can technically can continue to age but there's something inside of her body that leads her to physically age out from youth to elderly. Literally, how the power works is like mending a dying flower. When you take care of a flower garden or have like plants in their home, they can still age but with them, without good treatment, they would eventually die out whether how young or old they have lasted. So with good use of sunlight, water and fertilizer they eventually would last possibly decades until something cause their routine to change and end up dying entirely. That's basically the ordeal with Rapunzel's magic hair: the magic is the "routine" Mother Gothel wants to continue on the youthful appearance for centuries. Like Flynn mentioned in the beginning, she has been using this flower for hundreds of years. She's literally a flower continuing to stay youth by the "treatment" she was getting from the sun flower, now of Rapunzel's hair. As as for the owner herself, it wouldn't stop her from aging -- not like being a vampire that will stay at a certain age for centuries, but would still age but the body would stay young throughout the years if she used it the same way as Gothel did. She could cure any illness, as it did for her mother, but the youthful thing is just more appearance wise. Funny how your question made me realize this despite years of loving this film. Interesting how they took Eugene saying “find a new dream” to mean more ‘reconsider your priorities’ than ‘find something next to look forward to’, life does that i guess
I always figured the reason why the magic had no effect on her aging process was because she hadn't yet reached her prime. Once she hits her 50's or so, singing it might bring her back to her mid 20's, or similar to Mother Gothel's example
You guys have GOT to react to the Tangled Series, it is an absolute GEMSTONE of lore and story telling, the music is incredible, and its one of Disney's best series if I'm completely honest. Don't watch the Tangled Short until you finish the series if you want to see the events in order.

The series explains a lot of things, she learned the song from a scroll, its an ancient incantation for the sun powers to be activated, theres one for the moon too.

Regarding the aging of Rapunzel and stuff, I think it has to do with intent. When she heals Eugene’s hand he doesn’t de-age. So I think she just never used that on herself.
The hair doesn’t heal, it reverses time. One of the lines from the song is “make the clock reverse”. It can also reverse bodies to a time before they were injured or old Eugene’s hand was reversed to before it was cut, his dead body was reversed to when it had life (he was 100% dead since the very first line in the movie is Eugene saying “this is the story of how I died”), and it made Gothel younger

Rapunzel has a lot of Ariel energy. Which also makes sense cuz the one who did her concept art was the same as Ariel Personally prefer the little mermaid more, but tangled still stands as one of the best of the 2010’s
I feel like Disney peaked with their 3D films with this one(which is hilarious cuz it was one of their earliest). They took a classic fairy tale and put a clever, unique, fun twist on it. My ONLY complaint with this film was they didn't go with the original casting of Jack Black as Eugene, or his original design :')
FYI there is a pretty great animated series that follows the movie before the short film Tangled ever after. It starts with an animated movie called Tangled Before ever after and then the three season series. And honestly it's pretty great just a suggestion if you need another show.
I absolutely loved the Tv show after this movie, Tangled: the Series and Rapunzel’s Tangled Adventure but I’m worried y’all might get bored of it Again, it’s targeted to kids and certainly has episodes that feel like it but it’s got phenomenal songs, an appealing art style and a great story Really cool new characters and some incredibly interesting lore like it gets really really crazy Magic powers and anime fights The first season is really strong start I skipped around on the second season cause I thought it was a bit mid but the stuff after blew my mind I’m not confident with the recommendation because I feel like you guys would not finish this series if you started but I, personally, would immensely enjoy the content on it if you did
Fun fact: Rapunzel actually has a sister. Kinda. Mother Gothel has a daughter called Cassandra and the two (Rapunzel and Cassandra) are often called sisters and they refer to each other as such after both are aware of the relationship
I believe they explain the magic and even more magic in Tangled: The Series (if you want to watch that in the future. It's really good, and both Rapunzel and Flynn have their original voice actors. Also, you get pretty good new characters and eventually learn more about Flynn/Eugene.
okay ow PLEASE REACT TO TANGLED THE SERIES!!! IT IS IMPARATIVE and actually addresses some of the questions and magic and worldbuilding you had and its just overall really good.
interestingly "plot twist he was the prince all along" is actually true if you watch the 2d animated tangled show, he just wasn't aware that he was the son of another kingdom that had been destroyed
Rapunzel’s hair isn’t magic. It’s just her. She is the embodiment of this entity. Her hair is just a representation of its presence. Hence why her hair getting cut was never an issue because later her hair comes back after being reawakened by a force similar to it. Which mean the cut just put it in a dormant state. And the reason rapunzels hair always seems to be so perfect and never get dirty, is because her hair has its own mind. Her hair is seen to move and assist her later on, on its own. So it’s easy to know her hair is consistently moving itself.
Fun Fact: Pascal was actually inspired by a producer's pet chameleon named Pascal.
It really is and this movie producer has a pet Chameleon?

Eugene’s hand was reversed to before it was cut, his dead body was reversed to when it had life (he was 100% dead since the very first line in the movie is Eugene saying “this is the story of how I died”), and it made Gothel younger
That line ironically referred to himself. He died as Flynn Rider and reborn as Eugene.

Now its just time for them to watch "Treasure Planet" and "Spies in Disguise"
Love this movie, thanks for uploading guys! Needed something to get me through this rough patch, sending good vibes 💜
5:56 She has 18 years of experience
FYI there is a pretty great animated series that follows the movie before the short film Tangled ever after. It starts with an animated movie called Tangled Before ever after and then the three season series. And honestly it's pretty great just a suggestion if you need another show.
Should they watch Tangled the Series? I think they'd have a great time.
(Ready As I'll Ever Be is still freaking fire 🔥)
I absolutely loved the Tv show after this movie, Tangled: the Series and Rapunzel’s Tangled Adventure but I’m worried y’all might get bored of it
Again, it’s targeted to kids and certainly has episodes that feel like it but it’s got phenomenal songs, an appealing art style and a great story
Really cool new characters and some incredibly interesting lore like it gets really really crazy Magic powers and anime fights
The first season is really strong start I skipped around on the second season cause I thought it was a bit mid but the stuff after blew my mind
I’m not confident with the recommendation because I feel like you guys would not finish this series if you started but I, personally, would immensely enjoy the content on it if you did
Fun fact: Rapunzel actually has a sister. Kinda. Mother Gothel has a daughter called Cassandra and the two (Rapunzel and Cassandra) are often called sisters and they refer to each other as such after both are aware of the relationship
I don't think her hair can be cut by accident (or ripped/broken), only purposefully cutting jt would work.
interest fact eugin is really a prince from another kindom. we know fron the series
14:48: Love how you guys reference other movies you reacted to. XD
I believe they explain the magic and even more magic in Tangled: The Series (if you want to watch that in the future. It's really good, and both Rapunzel and Flynn have their original voice actors. Also, you get pretty good new characters and eventually learn more about Flynn/Eugene.
32:08 DANG DISNEY HOW DID YOU WRITE A HORSE TO BE SO HILARIOUS 🤣
okay ow PLEASE REACT TO TANGLED THE SERIES!!! IT IS IMPARATIVE and actually addresses some of the questions and magic and worldbuilding you had and its just overall really good.
9:09 Linkara always says, “ITS MAGIC IT DOESN’T HAVE TO BE EXPLAINED!”
Now that you watched this, it only makes sense to watch tangled the series now, it's just as good if not better.
interestingly "plot twist he was the prince all along" is actually true if you watch the 2d animated tangled show, he just wasn't aware that he was the son of another kingdom that had been destroyed
Fun fact: she could of had a crossbow
43:42 Bro! Of course it's her crown! It was on a pedastal not being used!
Watch Tangled series(Rapunzel's Tangled Adventure) too. It's very good.
5:38 WOAH BUDDY CHILL 😅. ITS MAGICAL HAIR AND SHE PROBABLY LEARNED HOW TO GET AROUND MANAGING HER HAIR
Ok so this definitely means they’ll watch Tangled Before ever after and Tangled the series right?
Right?
Haven’t seen the reaction yet but I’m so excited I love this movie
11:38 If anyone blacks out from getting hit then that's brain damage. His brain is swelling right now in that closet
3:19 I believe that her hair magically cleans itself.
I love this movie so much
Flynn and Maximus' rivalry is the best part of this movie
tangled is one of my favorite disney movies ever. i distinctly remember the first time i saw it when i was a kid
Did you know that the only reason flower is there is because of maui
