Fun fact: In the beginning, Judy isn't necessarily being hazed or discriminated against when they assign her to parking duty. Real police departments (at least in the US) often put new officers on parking duty because it's a generally low-risk assignment that familiarizes them with the city layout and traffic patterns. This is usually done with new recruits who are from out of town (like Judy), and often skipped for recruits who are locals or have demonstrated a familiarity with the area (like Nick).
The problem was that Bogo didn't say it like that. If he had just said what you said I'm pretty sure Judy would've taken it much easier. From how he said it, it was as if he was dismissing the fact that Judy worked harder than anybody else to become a cop something dominated by large animals only. If he had taken a minute to go "Look I get you worked your butt off to get here but you're new so I'm giving you parking duty so you can get the lay of the land." it would've not been an issue.

As a qualified florist, he would know which flowers did what. Night Howlers were used as a burglar deterrent as seen on the farm, similar to how humans use barbed wire on fences

41:51 Giraffic is actually a reference to a cancelled movie called Gigantic, which was going to be released in 2019. I think it was going to be like a Jack in the beanstalk type story before it was cancelled.
Back during the Kung Fu Panda 1 reaction on this channel, I referenced Jack Burke from the RUclips character art channel Subjectively, and how his video on Humans vs. Non-Human characters uses Kung Fu Panda to exemplify physical and conceptual themes of what makes someone special via the Furious 5 being animals. Zootopia was used right before that, and he emphasizes the beauty of every character being an animal to discuss the concept of race through a more comfortable and humorous lens. That’s the beauty of animation being able to discuss these topics substantially better that most live-action pieces. It especially emphasizes why Zootopia is so great, with the tried and true lesson that you can never judge a book by their cover until you read and understand its history. (Highly recommend checking Subjectively; great character artwork lessons and lots of League of Legends and Pokemon related stuff too)
45:36 I’ve never seen this movie before, but I feel you could use the phrase “wolf-in-sheep’s clothing” with Bellwether. She preyed on the prejudices of the citizens to rise to the top. In that sense, she’s more of a predator than any of the biological “predators” we saw.
Interesting to note: Not only is DMV sloth Priscilla voiced by Frozen’s Kristen Bell, but that she even admits sloths are her personal favorite animal. Not to mention Raymond Persi voicing Flash? I can still hear Gene from Wreck It Ralph in there.

One of the best modern Disney movies out there honestly. The way they represent different people using just the animals is incredible. The very real and deep message that comes with this movie is literally why, to me, Animated movies are Superior in all fronts. You guys should watch Finding Nemo if you haven't seen that yet :)
Heah this movie I thought is just your typical animated disney movie about talking animals. The plot twists are unexpected. Like I thought it's the Mayor Lion that's the villain. I never thought that small sheep is the villain
Regarding claws, have you read "Watership Down"? Rabbits are quite capable of evicerating each other with their claws. Probably wouldn't fight a jaguar successfully, though.

You guys all laughed at dinnah (DNA) and missed the next line which is the best in the movie. His friend corrects him and then the bully fox goes, " don't tell me what I know travis!"

I also realised that lemmings do be following other lemmings in a line and so Nick specifically picked that place to sell the paw-sicles. Quite a hussle.
The thing I most love about this movie is the original idea. At the start, predators were going to be suppressed with shock collars and treated horribly, Nick would be the main protagonist.
maybe it's about Judy being commissioned to investigate things in nearby cities, maybe a city where they want to gather reptiles and birds but there are social problems to solve, it's just a theory 😅
I’m dumb and don’t know actors but the mayor at 35:50 made me immediately recognize the voice of Stanford from Gravity Falls and the googling that followed made me realize it’s J Jonah Jameson too. I’ve somehow lived this long never knowing this and honestly I’m surprised I know how to breathe.
A movie that won't get recommended by many, but one I think is right up your ally, is John Dies at the End. Also, you guys would have a BLAST with Tucker & Dale vs Evil. That one is known enough by general audiences. I'd highly recommend both being put on a list, maybe more towards October, especially Tucker & Dale.
Funny, it's rather disturbing fact: the original story had predators given collars or muzzles when they reached puberty. It was supposed to be way darker than what we got. In the end, they decided to forgo that aspect because they wanted to build a world where everyone would have liked and enjoyed to watch. Me, I felt they could have easily made A Blade Runner style animated film, but no way Disney would allow that! 😂
I love the dig at Frozen by the police captain and the DMV scene just relates too much xD Zootopia+ is a bunch of shorts that expands on the lore of Zootopia!

Um, even in countries with gun restrictions (like in my country Sweden, you have to have weapons license in order to carry a gun and there are laws and restrictions such as only use them for hunting or at a shooting range, the only except are paintball guns but they're only to be rented at paintball shooting grounds), the police have firearms as it's part of their training and probably need it in certain situations like when they deal with armed criminals (though as a genral rule, police may not fire unless the criminal fire first, or the cop who did fire, even moreso if he/she manages to kill the criminal, regardless if he/she intends to kill the cops and/or hostages, then policeman/woman gets convicted and charged for breaking the law).

42:15 "Giraffic" is, I think, a reference to a film that was planned but cancelled. The film would probably have been called "Gigantic" and would have been about giants.
The thing with Clawhauser is out of breath is not only because being lazy and overweight gives him bad condition but cheetahs can only run fast for a short distance before getting really tired.
The scene with Judy and Nick after she has the press conference is my favorite when it comes to the message of the movie. That line "so there's a 'them' now" is oh so great, and shows how an us vs them mentality is always used for narratives targeting minorities, since that's what predators are in this movie.
As someone who has a pet bunny... they *absolutely* have nails. On all four feet. Those front paws are meant for digging and the hind paws are meant for defense. Watch the movie Watership Down if you ever want to see the kind of damage a rabbit can do...
Otters are actual quite dangerous. They can be extremely territorial around their young, to the point of attacking and even killing much larger animals they feel may pose a threat to them. The giant otter, the largest of the species, have been seen and videotaped killing black caimans by biting it to death. There is also a case of a pack attacking a women where they bit and scratched the crap out of her face.
Did u know that otters are related to Honey badges? Honey badges that doesn't give a fox if a lion try pick q fight on it. Honey badges will attack anything that stands in its way. And otters are no exceptions. They will fight jaguars and crocodiles if they have too. And they too don't give a fox about it. Also do u know how big otters can be? My theory is that since Otterton was a florist, he was probably the one supplying the bad guys with them but when he found out what they were using them for he was going to seek help in blowing the whistle on what was going on but they infected him to keep him quiet.
As a qualified florist, he would know which flowers did what. Night Howlers were used as a burglar deterrent as seen on the farm, similar to how humans use barbed wire on fences
Aw, y'gotta do _Wreck-It Ralph._
If no one's already pointed it out, 41:50 _Giraffic_ is based on the cancelled _Jack and the Beanstalk_ adaptation _Gigantic._
43:35 Sometimes Boom sounds like Syndrome from The Incredibles especially when Syndrome says "aww this is too good!" It has the same tone and cadence as Boom when he says "dude!" All excited 😂😂
I still say Disney could have made a series out of this. A buddy-cop comedy series with Nick and Judy going to all the biomes solving crimes.
(Highly recommend checking Subjectively; great character artwork lessons and lots of League of Legends and Pokemon related stuff too)
Amen to that
45:36 I’ve never seen this movie before, but I feel you could use the phrase “wolf-in-sheep’s clothing” with Bellwether. She preyed on the prejudices of the citizens to rise to the top. In that sense, she’s more of a predator than any of the biological “predators” we saw.
Also ties into how Judy originally thought the night howlers were wolves.
ya the "baby" is a bat eared fox they are naturally that size
Specifically a fennec fox to be exact.
22:58
Dam I actually started dying at this scene 😂😂, was not expecting his laugther to be this contagious 🤣🤣
Petition for a Wreck it Ralph reaction
Everyone better say "I"
I am literally begging right now
I!
My parents are mexican (I'm first gen), and they'll watch movies like this and just go "oh fun times for kids." But when it got to the "Oh, there's a *them* now" scene, the tension in the room was so intense. They we're seething with rage from a wave of bad memories. This movie was so important to them, it's so important to me, and it's necessary for more discussions like these to happen in everyday media
I love how Judy is a rookie cop and on her second day she has a in and contact within the mob. LOL😆🤣
One of the best modern Disney movies out there honestly. The way they represent different people using just the animals is incredible. The very real and deep message that comes with this movie is literally why, to me, Animated movies are Superior in all fronts.
You guys should watch Finding Nemo if you haven't seen that yet :)
are you sure about that there are a lot of bad animated movies out there.
@@MattStMarie-bm5sq I never said ALL animated movies are good. Similarly, not all live-action movies are good either.
Triple upload today!? YOOO!
Also, this is such a good movie. Can't wait for the sequel.
Bellwether is such a twist villain.
THERE'LL BE A SEQUEL?!?!?!?
@@alessandromarcello2735I think it was confirmed a couple months ago
Heah this movie I thought is just your typical animated disney movie about talking animals. The plot twists are unexpected. Like I thought it's the Mayor Lion that's the villain. I never thought that small sheep is the villain
@@legolord4483 by whom, and with the writers strike it might be cancelled
38:36 Never mess with giant otters in South America. They will mess you up.
The frantic pig of the flower shop is voiced by Jinnifer Goodwins (judy hobbs) husband. They also starred in a show together
20:49 No. That's a highland cow. Hence the long hair. And color. And horns.
Loved The Duke Wesselton/Weaselton joke between this and Frozon. But Dukes voiced by Alan Tudyk lol
I do love this film they make the characters so expressive and relatable and not just the main ones even the minor one off ones.
Regarding claws, have you read "Watership Down"? Rabbits are quite capable of evicerating each other with their claws. Probably wouldn't fight a jaguar successfully, though.
I would love for them to react to the original movie
41:52 It was a movie that disney planned to release called Gigantic. They put it in as a sneak peak along with Moana and Frozen 2 (which hadn't come out yet) Sadly the movie ended up getting canceled
One of my absolute favorite non-musical Disney movies, and yes, i would recommend seeing Wreck-It Ralph
I second watching Wreck it Ralph, it's a great movie!
On thing's for sure, if they don't ship Nick and Judy as a couple in the sequel, a large part of the fandom will riot.
You guys all laughed at dinnah (DNA) and missed the next line which is the best in the movie. His friend corrects him and then the bully fox goes, " don't tell me what I know travis!"
The "She hustled you. SHE HUSTLED YOU GOOD!" scene is honestly my favorite scene of the movie. That line and "That killer instinct is still in our duhnah." " Uh, Im pretty much sure it's pronounced D.N.A." "Dont tell me what I know, Travis" are the lines I quote the most
I never got the breaking bad joke since I’d never seen the show when this movie came out. Now that I’ve seen it, that’s hilarious.
12:44 Not hamsters; lemmings. They're working at the bank "Lemming Brothers" (parody of Lehman Brothers).
I also realised that lemmings do be following other lemmings in a line and so Nick specifically picked that place to sell the paw-sicles. Quite a hussle.
"Do you like uncut-"
"Yes I do!"
"-on Patreon"
"Oh shit. Nvm I'm broke af"
Otters are actually incredibly hardcore animals. River otters are even known to hunt small gators (usually as a group) or larger rodents like beavers.
"I dont think i've ever seen Beastars" Well Ik what series y'all need to watch in the future lol
Yep
I have a headcanon that kid doing all the musical queues in the beginning went on to do sfx work in movies/video games.
The thing I most love about this movie is the original idea. At the start, predators were going to be suppressed with shock collars and treated horribly, Nick would be the main protagonist.
Seems interesting but I like what they went with. Seems more nuanced and deep with its themes. But I agree the premise is great
The name of the two rams are Jesse and Woolter ... so yes, they are a Breaking Bad homage xD
That whole sequence including the names was an entire Braking Bad reference lol best sht ever 🤣
33:06 this scene used to make my dog howl too. It’s was hilarious
I cannot express how disappointed I am that Zootopia 2 isn't probably going to be an internal affairs investigation of Judy's ties to organized crime.
With the sequel getting announced last month, I’m really intrigued to see what they decide to do with it.
maybe it's about Judy being commissioned to investigate things in nearby cities, maybe a city where they want to gather reptiles and birds but there are social problems to solve, it's just a theory 😅
Let's hope they don't screw it up
I don't trust modern day disney
47:40 detail:
This reporter is a diferent animal in diference countrys :p
Like, in Brazil is a jaguar, in China is a panda and stuff :p
Funny, it's rather disturbing fact: the original story had predators given collars or muzzles when they reached puberty. It was supposed to be way darker than what we got. In the end, they decided to forgo that aspect because they wanted to build a world where everyone would have liked and enjoyed to watch.
Me, I felt they could have easily made A Blade Runner style animated film, but no way Disney would allow that! 😂
Giraffic is a reference to gigantic a cancelled Disney project which at the time was still in production
I love the dig at Frozen by the police captain and the DMV scene just relates too much xD Zootopia+ is a bunch of shorts that expands on the lore of Zootopia!
41:53 - Their was supposed to be a Disney 🎥 called "Gigantic", inspired by "Jack and the Beanstalk". But, it was cancelled.
Giraffig was a reference to "Gigantic"; a Jack & the Beanstalk adaptation. You might not be familiar since it's a project that got canceled soon after Zootopia & Moana because they felt they couldn't get the writing down.
Omg after U mentioned B99 it hit me that the polar bears are named Raymond and Kevin
Giraffic is a reference to a canceled Disney Animated feature called Gigantic, a loose re-telling of Jack and the Beanstalk.
18:29 shoutout to emmit otter Christmas special! Its my moms favorite too, my family used to watch it every christmas growing up
Yeah Bunnies are great at multiplying 😅
Giraffic was supposed to be based on the Disney Movie “Gigantic” which would have been loosely based on “Jack and the Giant Beanstalk.” However, on October 10, 2017, Disney announced that the project had been cancelled and was replaced with Raya and the Last Dragon.
You know, if you remember from the beginning, when she was being bullied by gideon and the other weasel... I think that weasel was weaselton here, but she didn't recognize him. Gideon became good weaselton, the came a criminal. But that's just my theory
what's funny is that most people see otters and go "awwwww" but they're actually an APEX PRED of their environment LMAO
Cinema Therapy did a really good video for this movie, I think you guys would like the analysis about the themes of implicit bias and such.
Giraffic fun fact: is a spoof on a film that was yet to be released called Gigantic, it was a disney feature film that was basically an adaptation of Jack and the Beanstalk. Unfortunately the film was cancelled, and never saw the light of day.
The small fox Nick hangs out with is a fennec fox in they are really small even when full groan.
The answer to your Brooklyn 99 question is YES I would watch that 😂
"Giraffic" is a play on "Gigantic", a movie Disney was working on but was later cancelled and never finished.
38:57 now see, Clawhuazter is about the LEAST threatening INDAVIDUAL in the whole building, and scine they have so many wolves and such in the force, you'd think an pverly friendly kitty-cat is EXACTLY what you'd want at the front desk?
That Fennec Fox is the best character in the whole movie XD
41:51 Giraffic is a parody of Gigantic, a film that was supposed to release in 2018 and then delayed for 2020, but it was ultimately cancelled altogether.
42:15 "Giraffic" is, I think, a reference to a film that was planned but cancelled. The film would probably have been called "Gigantic" and would have been about giants.
Nick has such a fluffy tail and I really wanna pet it so bloody bad
The thing with Clawhauser is out of breath is not only because being lazy and overweight gives him bad condition but cheetahs can only run fast for a short distance before getting really tired.
The scene with Judy and Nick after she has the press conference is my favorite when it comes to the message of the movie. That line "so there's a 'them' now" is oh so great, and shows how an us vs them mentality is always used for narratives targeting minorities, since that's what predators are in this movie.
Huh idk why but I never thought about what a real life equivalent of a fox taser or spray would be.
Perhaps wolf urine, like how that deters coyotes and foxes from chicken coops in real life.
6:48 if you're interested in video game worlds, y'all should watch Wreck it Ralph!
41:50 that's a reference to a cancelled project called "Gigantic".
As someone who has a pet bunny... they *absolutely* have nails. On all four feet. Those front paws are meant for digging and the hind paws are meant for defense.
Watch the movie Watership Down if you ever want to see the kind of damage a rabbit can do...
YES RABBIT SQUAD
My age hits me when I hear people say they recognize Jason Bateman from Arrested Development. I remember him all the way back from Silver Spoons.
The bootleg movie Giraffic from Weasleton is a play on Gigantic which was a cancelled movie in 2017 from Disney.
Same size as a full grown German Shepard. And they can be a whole pack. If a crocodile swim in a otters territory it will be beaten up and eaten by otters. So yeah never underestimate otters.
"Giraffic" the movie at Duke Weaselton's store, is a reference to the movie "Gigantic" (which was a Disney adaptation of Jack and the Beanstalk that died in development)
zootopia actually gives away that bellwether was the villain if you look at the phone it says "call doug" and it's the same doug that makes the night howler serum
Let me guess, Ruff has already watched it a 1000 times with his daughter, am I right? 😂
Pretty much yea lol
