Plus, do you think back then people would honestly believe this kind of story? I know most people were superstitious back in ancient times, but I highly doubt they would take anyone’s word for it. They’d think Merida was raving mad!
And a third point of the big situation with the bear to think of would be hey her mom would have been in serious danger sooner, especially with how much her dad enjoyed the sword fighting skills as well as weapons he could easily throw.
Fun fact: The Young Macguffin noone can understand is actually speaking Doric, a Scottish Dialect. For example, when they start arguing during the introductions, he said "If he was a wee bit closer I could lob a caber at him, you know?" At dinner: "Since you're sayin it, and I wasnt there to see it for myself, Ill go ahead and take your word for it" And after her big speech: "Its just not fair making us fight for the hand of a girl who doesnt want any part of it" (Rough translation, overall similar enough though that you can understand it if you know what youre hearing for)
the best part is, that was not the original plan, the character was supposed to talk some gibberish nonsense but one of the guys doing auditions for the movie just happened to know this dialect (he used it to talk with his grandparents) and they just went with it
Wait, did y'all finally get that office you've been talking about? I love the new set up, those chairs must feel great. Also, Fun fact: They had to make a whole new code just to animate Merida's curly red locks for this movie and it's CHANGED the game of animating hair ever since. Sully's fur in _Monsters Inc._ was a similar story.
@Gilgamasch perhaps depending on the theory. There was a popular one saying Boo time traveled and became the witch. However, is that's true then we need evidence of time travel, or something similar to that in Monster's Inc. In fact, if we take the character the Abominable Snowman, he gives us a bit of info on the matter. In Monster's University he is seen as in charge of the mailroom and Mike calls him by name. Later in Inc, when they are banished, they meet again but this time Mike doesn't seem to remember him. This can obviously be the fact it has been a long time that Mike doesn't know him, but I have a feeling your old boss at your last resort workplace would be memorable. This could be a hint to time traveling, also the fact that a Snowman is working in such a room temperature environment. The last thing to point out is the Pizza Planet truck. This is another wood carvings from the future, and at this point either the witch is a time traveler or she can just tell the future. Showing how medieval looking dn far back Scotland is in Brave, I feel it would be unlikely to randomly guess what a car is. Therefore, it could be possible she is a time traveler, but why? There is no motive and we know almost nothing about Boo if she were to do this. Maybe it isn't Boo? We do see in other Pixar films like Turning Red, Luca and Toy Story, that Paranormal things can happen in the normal human world, so this could be the case that perhaps it was a girl who got scared of Sully and somehow developed time travel and wanted to show glimpses of the future. She might have went too far back in time so now she is stuck. While waiting she turns Mordu into a bear and causes chaos for fun and is waiting for her time to possibly either allow certain doors to never exist, or hunt down Sully when it's time. Why do I say the bit about the doors? She is a wood carver and a witch, and it seems weird to me that despite there being doors in this era, she doesn't have any in her hut. Perhaps only big doors and ones that lead to rooms with weapons or windows in case of a monster attack? Quite possible. My conclusion, she is an evil time traveler who has somehow mastered witchcraft.
I have never seen a group of grown men so invested in the movie Brave and I am HERE FOR IT! Loved your interest in it and knew before I clicked on the video I wouldn't be disappointed with the way you guys always analyse your videos. This was so fun to watch! And congrats on the new office place!
Will-o'-the-whisps are a common scottish folk lore. I remeber my father telling me stories about them when I was younger. (I'm half Scottish, He's full Scottish) The will-o'-the-wisp is a flame-like phosphorescence caused by gases from decaying plants in marshy areas. In olden days, it was personified as "Will with the wisp," a sprite who carried a fleeting "wisp" of light. Foolish travelers were said to try to follow the light and were then led astray into the marsh. *Cue the 'The More You Know" music*
12:35 not only if your parents destroyed your toys or stuff to teach you a lesson or something you will get more mad at them but the parents have officially wasted the money they spent on said toy
This is one of my top Disney Princess movies. Merida causes and resolves her problem on her own accord. She grows as a person and teaches her mom to grow too. Leading to a generational understanding that you rarely get in Disney works. But let's not forget, major points for BOTH PARENTS NOT BEING OFFED OFF SCREEN!!!!.
15:30 there’s a post credit scene at the end of the movie where the guard that kept falling asleep was outside, and the crow and the broom brought all the wood carvings and said they just needed it to be signed❤❤❤ if that’s what you’re wondering
Brave is of those films I never tire watching. It is such a nice tail. Also, love how you guys were actually sitting in the same room. I think this is the first time I have seen you together physically.
I watched this when I was young. I loved this. Because obviously I could relate with Merida… but it made my mom tear up too, who related with the anxieties and regrets of Elinor. It was kind of an amazing movie with watch with her.
It’s nerdin time 🤓 Princess Eilonwy from The Black Cauldron didn’t sing either. Technically didn’t have a prince either since Taran was just a pig keeper.
Nice set up guys.😌🙂 Reminds me of another RUclips reaction channel that has something similar to what you guys have. I, for one really like Brave. It’s honestly one of my favorites from Pixar. I could easily compare Merida’s archery skills to that of Robin Hood as they both are masters of the bow and arrows. The most engaging part of this film for me is the mother daughter relationship between Merida and Eleanor. That, plus the lore of their world.
When I saw this in theater in 2012 I didn't feel like this was PIXAR's strongest film...but the last third was pretty good with the mom starting to turn into a real bear then that scene with Merida crying cause she was literally about to lose her mother got to me. RRRRGH! Good job, PIXAR, you made me cry...AGAIN!!! XD LOL!
4:36 Stupidly went climbing up a small slippery waterfall with friends as a teen, there were close calls but none of us slipped. Only after we reached the top did we see a sign saying not to climb the rocks.... We had a great laugh at that😂

Some reactors I feel do better in the separate call environment, for a variety of reasons, and I have to say...... I really think you guys have better energy in the same room. You all still pay attention to the movie, but are able to react to each other's energy and comments at the same time (I'd say better so than on call). I really like the change.
First time seeing Brave...are we not gonna talk about the mother mentioning 'compassion' in the beginning at the exact moment a chicken goes to the great big coop in the sky? ...and onto the dinner plate right after.
I don't remember if you guys said it already in more recent videos, but all the Disney movies have at least 1 parent dead because the OG creator grew up without parents so its a staple of most of his characters
Yay, I’m so happy that you guys reacted to Brave!!! I love this movie so much and I’m so glad that you guys liked it since I recommend this movie for you guys to watch!!

yea! This was our first video we did during our setup week. Erik will be moved down here officially soon and more videos will be recorded like this. We did fix the god awful audio this video unfortunately had though! So new videos will have much better audio quality

In the beginning:
