Hobbit vibes here. Sindri being kinda obsessed with the ring,m. And Brock’s line is like Smaug’s quote from the book “plenty and to spare”
My precious
I didnt catch that after he comes back up that Brock was referring actually to the duplicates lol
lord of the rings is inspired by norse mythology
Draupnir was an inspiration for the 1 ring.
Its a very important ring to the gods and they guarded it very heavily.
@@spicydomina2365 No im pretty sure it was *Andvaranaut* that inspired LotR.
The ring was originally created to find treasures, but after it was cursed, it corrupted the dwarven king and all subsequent owners with greed, misfortune, and destruction.
The irony of this is while Sindri seems more personable than Brok, Brok is kinder, more generous. Sindri in a way embodies traditional dwarves in that he is willing to help but loathes giving up his treasures. Brok freewheels life. If he knows it's right, he does it. He had no qualms over giving up Draupnir because he knew that they had tons of gold anyways but also because he truly wanted to help.
It makes Sindri's unwillingness to let go of Brok hit even harder.
@@danieljliverslxxxix1164 very true. there's a fine line between love and greed. was sindri a greedy man for not wanting to lose his brother or was he a loving man for almost dying to bring him back? in a way, Sindri represents one of the oldest mythos in the world; the person who defies death and then suffers a greater loss
@@krazykorean2525 Yours is such a great comment
Plus considering the story behind that ring, its probably best he makes sure Sindri gives it up.
There's also a thing about the 4th piece of Brok's soul. Maybe that missing piece embodied some of his greedy nature of a Dwarf. Or he could've always been like this. Whichever the case, the game did a real bang up job in creating a literal masterpiece that not only lived up to the 2018 but even did more.
For those unaware, Draupnir was a magic ring in Norse myth that would form duplicates of itself every eight days, that was created in the same contest as Mjolnir. It's name means "The Dripper", because the duplicates would "drip" from the original.
That's explained why he kept so many rings down there . Thanks man
@@tabunglpg All the rings kept down there were actually from Draupnir it kept multiplying on its own. Hence why the kept it tied up so they wouldnt forget where it went.

God of Feels T_T, that SM studio make us feel too much on this game. It's awesome though how they make the story and character
I thought Sindri would die. I just had a feeling
But he got a fate worse than death. He was utterly broken
Now look at what I've got not even my family 😔
When you realize that "Tyr" found out they "stole" the ring after many years, it just seems hilarious.
I see what you mean lmao
NGL the scene where Sindri goes into the hole alone and the light flickers into darkness really foreshadows what happens to him.
Looking again, no wonder it kinda looked ominous
And it lit up again. Almost felt like there's someone anew to fit his soul as whole or he decided to move on.
Never loses. That's what they all say. Then Kratos happens.
And draupnier
Comes at a cost though, Brok. T_T

Kratos: correction, never lost "so far", but he hasn't faced me yet.
Sindri has sacrificed almost everything for Kratos and Atreus.
His anger against Atreus in the end is understandable even though it was all Odin...

Imo I don’t think it’s understandable, he was with Atreus since the beginning so he knew he didn’t mean harm on brok, and literally everyone including sindri himself though Odin was tyr. The only small bit of justification for blaming Atreus is that he was the one who sought tyr to begin with, but all he wanted was his help with ragnarok so it still isn’t justified.
So they merged a duplication ring with a spear to conjure duplicates of that spear. Brilliant
With the ability to blow up too!

He might actually.
In norse myths being consumed by a emotion turns you into a literal monster/beast.
For faphnre greed turned him into a dragon/wrym(depending on the which story you hear)
So after ragnarock he could end up something even more beastly if his grief/rage consume his heart

brok was brash, not bashful
Bashful and straightforward. What an oxymoron
Both sindri and brok didn't deserve that kind of pain and fate in the end

To be clear, only the original Draupnir ring can duplicate itself. The copies are just valuable material/gold.
That's why Sindri is reluctant to give the original ring.
The Draupnir spear however, only duplicates itself on command.
Well, they are original creators, they could have made one... maybe. That is not considering what happened.
@@svnwukong The issue probably lies in the original material they used to make Draupnir, it could be one of a kind, and they can't just simply make another Draupnir if they wanted to.
@@keroro407 from my understanding it was forged at the same time Mjolnir was created, so potentially it has to be done very ritualistically or like you said a special material.
you can really see tyr's composure break when he finds out sindri and brok stole draupnir, he approaches them mad, almost looking for an answer arms at his side in an aggressive stance, even walking into sindri. after sindri walks by seemingly shaken, you can see it in Odin's face that he realizes tyr wouldn't give a shit, and returns to a calmer less aggressive pose with his arms behind his back and his face less angry
Whatever his advantages I will overwhelm him with my own kratos bout to smash the circle button
Creative way to give a new weapon without overloading Kratos. Even cooler they remade a Norse relic of the lore into an awesome spear. A spear worthy of a Spartan.
Heimdall: "i cant be hit"
Kratos: "hold my spear"
Heimdall: "really? You're gonna hit me with the stic-"
The spear: *fkn explodes*
Love how kratos is I use to watch my second oldest brother play the first few game everytime he played I know all the story but never played myself I got gow on ps4 and loved it hasn't got the chance to play this one want to get a ps5 beforehand but he cares soo much about his son it's beautiful cause he lost his first family and we all know why :(
I’d say that Sindri probably suspected Tyr, and probably blames himself for what happened.
There are chances but the game would have made it clear I think that's not the end either a dlc or a new game is coming cause a lot of stuff where leaved in the air what will happen with Audrina atreus journey and many other stuff
Tyr:So YOU STOLE MY RING!! Oh...i mean....you stole odin's ring...woah.
Wonder what Odin did with draupnir in the past to make them UNgift what should never been gifted in the first place
@@sturdyp6924 probably being the worst from all the things he's done
There are about 1,329,832 Draupnir copies in the cave (+1 original)! Draupnir has been in that cave for about 4104 of our years. See below for math.
Draupnir creates 8 copies of itself on every 9th day. Roughly 324 new rings appear during each of our years. This ring looks like it's about 1cm thick, and the average ring diameter for men is about 1.6cm. Accounting for material thickness, let's say each ring is (roughly) a cylinder with a radius of 1cm and a height of 1cm. This gives us a volume of 3.14 cubic centimeters. Densely packed circles (hexagonal arrangement) fill 91% of the space they occupy. Let's be charitable and say that the rings are packed fairly densely - maybe 80%, accounting for the fact that rings can intersect each other slightly and that a bunch of disc-shaped objects will most likely settle parallel to the floor. For the Z dimension, let's assume that the rings are stacked in 1.2cm-thick layers (it won't be perfect, obviously - I chose this arbitrarily). A cubic meter would contain about 21,165 rings. (~83 layers, each layer has a total area of 1000cm^2, 80% packing density = 800cm^2, 800 divided by cross-sectional area of ring (3.14cm^2) = ~255, 255 * 83 = 21,165.) The chamber appears to be fairly large, maybe 10 meters in diameter based on Sindri's size. We don't know how deep the rings are piled, but let's say that it's 2 meters. That's a total volume of ~62.8 cubic meters occupied by rings, which means that there are about 1329839 rings in the cave. However, Draupnir produces copies in increments of 8, so 1329839 % 8 = 7, which means that there are a total of 1329832 copies and 1 original in the cave. 1329832/324 new rings per year = 4104 years. Not gonna do the leap year calculation.
Well damn. Brok was right

Love how sindri can mess with the camera
Not sure if people realize that Tolkien got the idea of a magic ring from Norse mythology and a few other sources, not the other way around...
Obviously. How stories from almost 1000 years before would get an idea from Tolkien that lived 50 years ago?
any longer, if the ring didnt mutiply and surprise Sindri, he might go "my precious"
I always wondered why there was the Spartan symbol on Draupnir in the Jotnar Edition. I'm glad it finally made sense. I'm more surprise that the ring multiplies constantly. In the myth, Draupnir multiplies into 9 of itself every three nights if left under the moonlight. The ring was used to explain the gods' wealth and how above they were to the Norse. I have to wonder now that the reason why Asgard looks so... Humble is due to Odin not having the ring.
i feel bad for sindri here, unlike brok he made the ring, it's his creation, his little one as it were... and incase you have any doubts about who made draupnir, brok made the weapons and fashined the armour, sindri made everything else
I'm not sure about the mythology, but in this series both Huldra Bros. forge/upgrade weapons and armour. That much has clearly been stated in game through dialogue (ie. discussions about their work on both Mjolnir and the Leviathan Axe) and in gameplay. More often than not, players will only encounter one brother at a time as you traverse the realms. Sindri has forged many armour sets for me through my playthroughs.
I FELT BAD FOR SINDRI AFTER I WATCHED THE ENDING :(
“It’s a fuckin surprise!” Brock had such a way with words 😂😂
I feel bad for what happened to Sindri and Brok they were 2 of the best characters in this game
Sindri's precious.
Poor lad don't deserve what he got
With context, this shows how Brok's train of thought is simple and elegant. He probably thought "If Heimdall can see all attacks coming, we just multiply the number of attacks to an amount he won't be able to dodge. Draupnir's nature is to multiply, so we make a weapon from it". Simple isn't easy, being able to simplify something is usually due to a thorough understanding of the subject. In this case it showcases Brok's mastery of dwarven smithing. His solution is simple, elegant and very creative. He also didn't hesitate for even a second to part with a treasure for a good cause. It just shows how insightful and kindhearted he was.
It's interesting that Sindri was hesitate to give up the ring but when Brok explained what they would do with it, he got kind of exited. It almost demonstrates that resources are important to Sindri, but as a blacksmith, what he wants most is to see something incredible be made.
Sindri gonna be the villain in the third game
But the ring multiplies and each multiplication multiplies....or was it just the original ring only?
God of War: Sindri revengeance coming soon XD
Lord of the Rings sequel is looking great holy sheet.

Lo gracioso es que en el doblaje latino el actor de voz de Sindri es el mismo que el de Frodo
J. R. R. Tolkien: *Solemn nod of approval* an extra 5 marks.
Sindri's you were saying was funny
So funny Odin's there to watch at slow motion how the dwarves stole his ring, they are going to use it to create the weapon that will kill one of his most valuable soldiers, it will certainly trigger Ragnarok, and he cannot do anything because he would be discovered.
"Ummmm, who said you could have that?"

“NO MATTER WHAT YOU THOUGHT I UNDERSTOOD MY SON IS IN DANGER “ lol meaning he’ll burn these mfn realms to the ground to protect Atreus

No wonder they called it Draupnir lol apologises if I get the spelling wrong, kinda new at this haha.
Lol Sindri Doesn’t sure if he bring up the real ring so when it pop up he happy

Is this a reference to Richard Wagner's Der Ring des Nimblelungen musical drama?
That musical drama inspired tolkien to create The Hobbit and LOTR. the cycle started with the forge of the Ring from Gold Rhine and ended with Gottedammerung (Ragnarok)
No it's based on a Norse myth from the Prose Eda, Draupnir is part of a set of three gifts Eitri (Alternate name for Sindri) and Brokkr (Brok) made as part of a wager with Loki, the other two gifts are Gullinbursti the gold maned boar and Mjöllnir.
@@neroblack2704 Der Ring also was adapted from norse Mythology.
Wait, i thought after this they go to the mermaid to get the spear made and brok realises he's dead, right? So why is Sindri still cheerful?

So yk how sindri is rly hesitant to give up the ring because it makes resource’s for them? Since this new spear there making make the ring make the spears, do you think that they could use the spears to get more material on command? Since you have to want the spear to explode of it to explode

I hate how the demonize the Norse gods in this game, but my goodness it's a beautiful game filled with tons of beautiful references.
Still Gurd is supposed to have the ring as a wedding gift
Its not really demonizing them much. If you look into norse myth, Odin was always a narcicistic manipulative asshole with little in the way of honor. They just took that nature to a logical extreme.
@@taddad2641 It’s horribly demonizing them, Odin wasn’t even close to that bad of a person. And he would never kill his own. Hell, they even go to great depths describing his endless mourning over Mimir’s death. He was one of Odin‘s best friends and volunteered to go on a diplomatic mission. Odin‘s enemies sent his head back. I’m sure he was a trickster but he wasn’t one of those who lied endlessly and exclusively tried to make peoples lives horrible. In fact, it was quite the opposite. He was a trickster in the way that he tricked usually bad people into learning a lesson.
And i just realized what tha ring is.
I wonder why Sindri had bandages in this scene?
because of the Atreus when he uncontrollably transform into bear and knock everyone including Sindri
Oh okay, understandable, have a great day :)
oh god why is sindri all beat up, I already feed so bad about his ending wtf
can the draufnir's duplicates duplicate themselves too ?
So i guess that's Odin disguised as Tyr.
Yes
golum
Couldn’t they make another draupnir?Like fr they made it, they can do it again
I might be that it was made from a unique set of materials.
Were all those rings draupnir?
They where all copies. Draupnir basically has the ability to produce a infinite amount of copies of itself, with each copy being the exact same as the original (except it doesn't have the self replication aspect)
Draupnir (the original single ring) has the ability to multiply itself, and each multiplied ring has the same properties as the original ring but only the original ring can multiply itself. These copies of Draupnir are then used as resources to forge other things like weapons, armors, etc. Basically by having the original Draupnir, you get infinite resource glitch.
Why did Sauron gifted his Ring to Odin?
Bold of you to assume it isn't the other way around
Why is the draupnir ring so precious? What is it in norse myth?
it basically duplicates so they merge it with the spear so kratos would never lose te spear
it was said to be the source of odin's wealth; a gold ring that creates identical copies of itself in all but the magical enchantments. including the fact each ring is a GOLD ring. that's why it's precious.
@@chriscant2466 If leave ot for hundred years the ring will cause inflation
@@ilhamleo6348 very well said lmao
Every nine nights the ring creates eight non-magical duplicates of itself, being that it is a gold ring it is the primary source of wealth in asgard.
why would he miss a duplicating ring?
He and his brother smithed it in a competition with the sons of Ivaldi. Same competition where they made Mjolnir and Gullinbursti, a golden boar.
Thought there would be dragon in those golds
The game did a poor job of explaining various artifacts and weapons.
If they explained every item and reference to a sufficient degree the game would be 4 times as long in cutscenes alone, I imagine that there are probably entries in the game's Codex or bestiary or something that explain a bit better.
Brok didn't deserve that
I wonder why the camera focused on Sindri?
It showed that this is the greatest treasure of Sindri and we need to remember why this is important.
