Your finding really shocked me. Thank you for the education. The good news is my last card was a Samsung Evo 256 and now will replace my others too.
Hi Izzy, glad you got the right card.
Great video. you are the only one that actually use real world situation "write / moving large amount of files" to the SD card to find out the consistency of the write speed over time. Thumbs UP!
Thank you
I like your video is straight to the point - sick of stupid intros as if they are an actual brand - people have a very high opinion of themselves lately, your videos help us take decisive action fast
Thank you. And yes, this is what I am going for: I don't like to watch minutes over minutes before it gets to the point
Thank you so much sir! You are a god-sent. It's people like you that keeps impostors in line.

The Samsung Evo Plus and Evo Select are the exact same cards; the Evo Select is just Amazon's own version. So provided the cards are the same size, they will perform exactly the same (within a margin of error).
Thank you for your insights

Just a note, the Samsung Evo Plus and Evo Select are the exact same cards; the Evo Select is just Amazon's version. So get whichever is cheapest of the two :)
I had to login to my youtube account to thank you, this was such an informative video! I'm looking to get a 32gb sd card and my options are samsung, lexar, and sandisk, but it easily seems Samsung is the most trustworthy in their marketing and performance. Big thanks for helping the selection be easier!
Thank you so much for the nice feedback.
Flash storage usually gets faster the higher the capacity. Some of these even have different specs depending on the capacity. Maybe you should do another test with at least 64gb cards
I will. Let me know which cards you'd like to see get tested
Thank you so much for your invaluable information, highly appreciate it, have a great day, keep it up the outstanding job.

Thank you. So true.
I just got a Samsung Evo class 10 U3, 64Gb. I used it on my cheap action cam. Surprisingly when I used the OEM adopter directly on my cheap celeron processes laptop. I did receive 70+/- mbps transfer rate with my SSD on laptop.
With cable transfer with action cam, speed found only 16 Mbps
This is from Mumbai, India. Samsung 64GB, class 10, U3 is available at INR 850, approx USD 13 only.

One thing to keep in mind is that not every USB port is created equal. They might or might not share their PCI lane with other devices. Take a look at the documentation of the mother board. And you also need to account for the card reader. Card readers can make a huge difference between cards of different brands. So to get a proper evaluation you need to make the test with different card readers. You might find readers that match perfectly to the SD card or they don´t. Then you´ll get only average performances. Some cards are specified as UHSI and have only one row of pins, but can use UHSII protocols to achieve higher speeds. This is against specifications and only a card reader that knows the trick can unlock the higher speeds. So yes, your testing is valid, but with other card readers and a different USB port the results may differ very much.
Do you have any Micro SD cards in mind that you would like me to include in my upcoming 2022 update?
@@ParadiseBizz Yes, I have: Kingston 128 GB Canvas Select Plus. At a price of €18 is offers read and write speed around 90MB/s and that is pretty close to the optimum. It has a green label. The Kingston Canvas Go! Plus 128 GB with the light blue label is €21, but I have no experience with it. Use that with the latest Kingston card reader (€8, also comes as bundle with some newer UHSII cards). You should also give the newer lines of ADATA premier pro a try (turquoise color), they have a very good price ratio. The Sandisk extreme is overpriced and sandisk ultra have a slow write speed, not worth the extra money for the name. In general the cards with higher capacity of the same label are often faster because they can adress several memory blocks in parallel.
Never buy SD-cards and USB sticks from overseas dealer. The potential trouble you might have is not worth giving it even a hard look. I have an online-dealer that is now over 30 years in business, and that means something in the computer industry.
@@adamabele785 Thank you for that, I will put your cards on my shopping list, also the Kingston with the blue label and the ADATA. Stay tuned :)
Acutally, I noticed that the Canvas Select Plus with the green label is only available as SD but not micro SD. There is a micro SD line with the name, but it is definitely slower in writing than the SD card I have. But just for fun give it a try, these are way cheaper, around €10 for the 128 GB. So if you need something with high capcity, that does not need much write speed like a Gopro or simple photography, you can get a good deal. The manufacturer claims they are resistant to water, magnetism, x-rays, telemarketers and other stuff.

Something to keep in mind is that the Micro SD cards may perform at their advertised speeds when using an adapter that can transfer at fast rates (USB 3.0 microsd card adapter is faster than a USB 2.0 microsd card adapter). From personal experience, I purchased a SanDisk ultra SD card and when using a USB 3.0 adapter to read the files, it reached its advertised 90MB/s
The adapter is important, however since all cards have been tested using the same adapter, there are significant differences.
@@yeahrightmate it's like in the Casino: you can't beat the system. :)
If that is the case, why doesn't SanDisk provide a Usb 3.0 Adapter instead of 2.0 fake marketing? I've had two SanDisk cards fail on me won't recommend them to anyone. Lexar seems to be more reliable after reading stuff about them on the internet as well as speaking to people who own their sd cards correct me if I'm wrong 👍.

Wait, why assume it’s a knock off? Scamdisk may well be doing this knowingly.

First of all thank you for your effort.
If I may, what card reader did you use for testing?
I own several Sandisk Extreme Pro microSD cards (bought years ago) and all of them are running blazing fast.
Reads all over 90 MB and Writes around 80-90 MB.
Just ordered a new Smartphone and was checking if there's an alternative.
Guess I'll give the Extreme Pro another try or else I'll test the Samsung.
Thanks again, stay safe & happy holidays.
Good morning, I am currently purchasing Micro SD cards for my upcoming 2022 update. Are there any cards that you would like me to include?
Not 100% confident, but if I recall correctly: the advertised read/write speeds on any SD card is supposed to be for 1GB of sequential data, not 1MB as done by crystal disk
In the top line of Crystal Disk Mark you can see that it was the 1GB Test. Thanks for watching
@@ParadiseBizz You're right. The 1MB refers to the block size. I assumed it meant doing 1GB worth of individual 1MB sequential reads per run, but it is a single GB of sequential read in 1MB blocks.
@@rubenschaer960 Since all card tests were performed with the same reader and with identical settings, it still gives you a good indication of the individual performance differences. Maybe you'll like the updated test better: ruclips.net/video/dFt0Nafx_Pw/видео.html
Are you using a quality micro ad card reader.. Pendrive or wat.. And are u using the usb2.0? Maybe the advertistment is for 2.0 and since the number is very high. Maybe they use the usb 3.0!
If I would not have measured the right way, non of these card would have reached their advertised speeds. But some did

Brands state read and write speed of "UP TO x number". Usually this means that the devices wil have initial short speed peaks of said speed and then go down to speed closer to what crystaldisk shows. I think crystaldisk mark shows the average speed
Yea, that's what they do to mislead the customers. But your camera or done doesn't care what is the peak performance of your card. These devices need sequential write speed or else you will have lag and stutter in your footage.
Thanks!
Welcome!
Your results don’t make sense to me on some cards. You used what reader? Connected to what device? USB 3? Why didn’t you include the fastest card, the verbatim, in the end results ?
Some of the cards reached their advertised speeds while others didn't. All were tested with the exact same reader
is seems your card reader is little loose, or you just got defective or fake one. my sandisk microsd (non A1, sandisk ultra 80 MBps, 64 GB) got around 79 MBps for read and 37 MBps for write.
if it was a problem with the card reader, how do you explain that other cards performed as advertised using the SAME reader?
maybe this is why i get soo many glitches with the gopro..
That's very likely. Especially if you're recording in 4K or with higher frame rates, you want a really fast card
I noticed that the Read / Write of the initial purchased Sandisc card from Amazon (the one that you called "fake" ) was in the similar 30-40 Read / Write speeds that the later Sandisc cards were , that you got from Western Digital .
Didn't you notice these similar results ?
Not only I noticed, I returned them because of that and my return was approved.
I dont know why you Samsung evo select can go up to 92mb. When i move video footage from the card to pc. Only 3-4m.

Do people still not know the difference between sequential write speeds and random write speed?
You'd be surprised... If manufacturers would print the sequential write/read speeds it would allow for consumers to make a more educated decision.
The speeds of your fake card are exactly what youd get if you were limited to USB 2.0 bandwidth. The random write speeds were still very good, way more than you'd expect from a generic or fake. Could this possibly have been a fault in your card reader at the time?
If this was a single instance you could be right. But I used the same card reader for ALL cards, this is what validates the results.
I can't wait to test my card.

When card Say V30 it's write 30mbs that's 4k low frame. But buy EVO best price
It could write even faster, but still below V60
The comparison is unfair to Sandisk.
For everyones information, the ENDURANCE line of Sandisk microsd cards is for longetivity basically for cctv, etc where you need to delete data relatively regularly and not necessarily need high speed read writes.
And other two version were only 32gb size which is an HC (High Capacity) card and is lower end than an XC variant which comes from 64gb to 512gb size variants.
You should compare the same size, speed and type of cards for a comparison.
For general viewers, a Sandisk Extream plus of size 128gb and more is the best value for money for use in smartphines and tablets if you are transfering your apps to the card, as it has the highest score for "random" read and writes better than even Samsung.

Bro what about the extreme pro sandisk ??is it better than EVO SELECT ...in your opinion
On paper it's better, and I am sure if your get a good copy you won't have any problems. But there are circulating many counterfeit SanDisk extreme pro. Never had any issues with Samsung EVO Select. amzn.to/3kRm3rK or amzn.to/3kRij9w
very good!
Thank you
@@ParadiseBizz welcome
Hi What type of Storage are you using in your PC to check the micro SD card speed?
the thing is when they advertise 100 MBs/S it usually means megabits not megabyes. a megabit= megabyte/8 so its not really false advertisement they just play with terms
also i saw your recent video and i have most of those cards available for the same price
do you think high endurance cards like kioxia would be more reliable in the long run or would something like sandisk still be better?
Since SanDisk was bought by western Digital their quality and customer service went down. I would rather look into Lexar and Kingston
It seems as if that Sandisk Extreme Pro you thought was a fake might not have been after all.
Could be
You got same low 30MBs on all cards, did you ever consider that your ! Test setup , PC,adapter ECT. is limiting factor ? And not a problem with SDCARDS... i have several of those cards and they are not that slow , it's your problem.
Then how would some other cards perform so extremely well, if it was my setup?
@@ParadiseBizz Clearly more testing required , first use "h2testw" to check for fakes , than try different SDcard adapters , USB 3 with UHS-I , II compatibility preferably. I have as i said several of those cards and they perform as advertised , i also noticed poor performance with old USB 2 adapters, and or If SDCard is worn out from heavy use , i use them in dashcams and cameras. I assume yours are new cards they should perform well. Lastly make sure your not looking at spec of 2020 sdcards and test old sdcards , maybe you mixed some up, Amazon for example people sell some older gen sdcards and copy paste 2020 card spec as advertisement, a possibility.
@@jondoes6895 But the slow speed SD cards where just buyed from the western digital store itself... So i don't think the sell fake ones
hello i have a question... does the usb adapter matter when you test these cards? i bought a evo 256g recently and only received 15-17mb read/ write speed . before that i used the fake flash test program to test the card and it seemed fine. it doesn't look like the card is fake so i would like to double confirm before i return to the seller. thx
Great question, and yes, absolutely. You will get the best results with this one: amzn.to/36qkVs2
Please subscribe to my channel, in a few weeks I have a 2022 Best Micro SD Card update.
Should you test card new or with data already on it? Which gives most accurate speeds?
Best to test is new, cards are "wearing out" over time, so the more data have been transferred the lower gets the performance. Of course, we are talking about tons of data here
