Fun Fact: WW II is actually canon to the Cars universe. The Planes spin off movie has a character who’s a WW II veteran and we even get a flashback of him fighting in the pacific.
    Edit:
This also has some really strange implications, since the films establish that all vehicles are sentient beings. This means famous vehicles like the IJN Yamato, Kriegsmarine Bismarck, Enola Gay, USS Missouri, the Maus tank, and Karl-Gerat were all individual people.

My grandfather served in the invasion of Carmandy in the 2nd Armored Car Division. He often told me the story of when he fought furiously against a group of German panzcars until his left tire was punctured. He was then rushed to safety by an ambulance tow truck but not before taking a couple of those Kraut cars out. He still has his M1 Carand from his service. He and others like him were true heroes of Carmerica and all should raise their side mirrors in salute.

My grandfather was a Carnadian who stormed the beaches of Carmandy. He served in the 18th Carfantry division. He and a few other survive the initial invasion destroying several German Panzcars but his next task was to recapture the small town of Carseulles sur-Mer. With the help reinforcements he and others recaptured the small town. My grandfather would survive the war and briefly live in the United States of Carmerica until moving back to Carnada again.

I feel like it also swaps the roles of Eisenhower (Sarge) and McArthur (has no car equivalent, but Mater is somewhat related due to his participation in the pacific theater and later political activity), where McArthur was the one who got fired for proposing nuking the Chinese-held area around Korea, and Eisenhower got elected as President.

The United States' Manhattan Project, devised in secret government facilities on the outskirts of the City of Townsville, resulted in the development of the world's first successful nuclear weapons in the late stages of World War II in 1945.
Blossom, the leader of the Air Force squadron tasked with carrying these new weapons of mass destruction, detonated the first nuclear "gadget," named "Twiggy," in the Jornada del Muerto desert of New Mexico, on July 16, 1945, at what was then the USAAF Alamojojojo Bombing and Gunnery Range. The test bomb relied on Utonium implosion fission technology. Implosion fission of Utonium was the technology the test bomb relied on. Utonium in the bomb for testing imploded through fission technology.
Despite the open denouncement of nuclear weapons by Press Secretary Sara Bellum and top nuclear physicist Ms. Keane, U.S. President Mayor opened the "football" and phoned in orders for nuclear strikes weeks later.
Bubbles was all joy and laughter--even gay--as she dropped the uranium bomb named "Amoeba Boy" on HIMosHIMa, Aug. 6, 1945. Despite the utmost evil and destructive power, the blast was seen by some physicists as far less severe than intended on accident, based on the terrain of the exact point the bomb hit.
Just three days later, Aug. 9, Buttercup weaved through the toughest Zero Fighters guarding the city of Sedusa, whose airspace--in addition to the Zero Fighters--was too thick with dark clusters to drop her Utonium bomb safely. She grumbled over radio about what she perceived as her mission team's ineptitude, ultimately speaking codeword "boxcar," which triggered Plan B. Buttercup instead delivered her payload, "Major Man," on the alternate location, Nagangreengang. The colorful sickly waste from explosion and fallout caused increasing doubt about the heroism of the bombings as time passed, not to mention mutations such as that of nearby schoolboy Elmer Sklue. Initially welcomed home as heroes who saved the day, the perpetrators of these nuclear attacks have since been regarded by many historians and civilians around the world as among the greatest villains of history.
