Definitely cool. I’m in law school now, so my Lego buying is significantly reduced for the next few years-especially with the price hikes. This set should have been $250 IMO. The wind turbine from 2018 was $200 and this is pretty similar. I could get a $50 dollar price increase more, but $100 more just seems a bit much.

Beautiful set, aweful price ! With all the inflation for basic supply, rising prices for heating and electricity, I fear many may simply not pick it up because we need our money to cover the rising costs on all fronts. I am a lighthouse fan all my life and was waiting for this ever since it was announced. Now I struggle whether to get it or get the castle which I still haven‘t gotten. I actually believe a tough road is ahead for Lego selling these expensive sets cuz the overall situation that keeps me from running to the store Sept 1 is the issue most people in most countries across Europe and the US have on their plate in coming months.

Fantastic review Alex. Appreciate the honest feedback on your thoughts and price. Definitely a set I would like to pickup one day when it is on a good discount. Not a day one purchase for sure. I am kind of disappointed that it is a mirror sticker and not a real mirror but it still worked fine. And the fact that it is hard to swap the battery and motor out means these powered up functions will probably stay in there instead of being re-used elsewhere on an adhoc basis. Otherwise, this set looks great! Congrats on your first LAN review!

I think AFOLs forget the purpose of the mis-match colours in the bases and mechanical mechanisms in Lego sets. The bright colours make the parts easier to identify and therefore make the set more accessible, and easier to piece together when reviewing the instructions.

Here in Australia it is $470 plus $45 postgae so not cheap. I have just finished mine and was a great build. I found the instructions a bit vague att times as brick sections are not high lighted now in the book so with brown and black bricks you have to look really hard and on bits like the rock walls you have to go over the whole picture to find out where to place them. It has a great look to it when finished butt the only part I wasn't happy with was the small mirror section - that piece of paper will not lastt long and a real small mirror would have been great making the beam brighter as anything over a few feet and it will not show up very well. Adding the battery pack , motor etc makes this a dear set but compared to the 5770 it blows it away

Good review. The lighthouse looks awesome and I've always wanted a nice lighthouse in my city. But € 300 is (a bit) too much for me. So unless I find a good deal one day, I think I'll pass. There are a lot of cool Lego sets out there lately, but they're way too expensive. I'm skipping on a lot of sets just because of the price. Except the new castle. I had to have the castle, but that means a no go on a bunch of other sets.

I still think € 300 is too much for the set, but I've been able to save up on VIP points to get a nice discount. So I've ordered it yesterday while double VIP points are still being rewarded. They know what they're doing at LEGO. They've got me in their power… Now I can't wait to build it and put it in my city.

You should add some mini lights or light poles along the street with working lights similar to how the one is in the little cottage for the fireplace. That would be cool when you turn the lights off and only all the street lights and lighthouse would be lit up would give it a really cool look at night but not sure if something like that exists for small lights/street lights for Lego.

I for one do not have a problem with spending the money on these Lego sets. Because:
A). They are collectible, and therefore a great investment.
B). If you start working with your kids with duplo. By the time they progress to a Lego set like this. Let's say when they're 12 or 13. They become little engineers.
Therefore, I'll probably invest in this set. You notice I said invest, therefore it's an investment.

$380 in Canada, I’m unemployed and homeless in 2 weeks so it’s not gonna happen for me. I think this should have been done the same way as the Loop coaster, hand cranked out of the box with the option to easily motorize it if you choose to.
Same price as Home Alone but half the pieces and mini figs. It’s not even a licensed set, is it because there’s some profit sharing with the creator?

This is a great set with very cool details, but it is a little expensive. It should have been $250 at most

I agree with that price. It seems like the $250 is where it is at with what you get.

Wowww, finally a complete well done review 💯✅... Not like another Portuguese reviewer that used to work for the Lego Group and shows most of the new sets first but he just seems he is in a crazy run against the clock skipping many details (I'm looking at you Thiago C.🧐)... You well deserve those 100K reviewers!! Keep it rockin' Alex!💪🏼

With inflation this will be the new normal for prices. As mentioned in the video LEGO have price hiked many sets in the past month. Yes it seems expensive but you are comparing against the old benchmark. If you continue to use this logic all LEGO sets will be deemed overpriced

The price increases are to pay for the billion dollar manufacturing plant Lego is building in Virginia.

Only 2 minifigs for a $300 set?! I would say that is terribly weak! This set should be no more than $150.

This set is poorly designed and a total rip-off. Stickers, low amount of parts, ugly design, only one bird, only 2 figures. Lego sucks more and more.
