We saw Notre Dame just before the fire took down the steeple. I think it will be nice to add this architectural model to our collection in remembrance of our visit.
I love tan colour (sand i call it). I had to buy Colosseum used for that, was to late for closest (and cheapest one), managed to beat the cheapest price at second closed used one :D now it's miiiiiiiiiine :D building it already. Notre-dame was on my wish list, it was 172€, was slightly to much (at the time) for me, but then they did single day black friday 142€... for that as a tan colour lover (and church) had to get it. It has more detail then i thought :D this was good purchase. Mind you recommended price is 230€ and most shops ask 200€. For instance the smaller Hogwarts castle parts of 100€ imo have much less details (castle) and thus are not worth 100€, this beats many sets in details and build fun, and parts, but also lasting appeal as it looks good, and even lego haters will like Notre-dame shown in your house.
Not sure I ever understand the repetitive argument... I mean, if you want to play with bricks, buy a random bag and create your own story. If you want to build a landkark, what do you expect? Do you think builders are so bored of their highly repetitive job that suddenly they completely change the shape just to bring variety? Repetition makes lego set great for mindfulness. They are great as well to maintain dexterity, which as adult we never really focus on. All in all, these types of set are really great to build, they maintain some hand agility, some brain agility and they look amazing when completed. Thank you for reviewing in such details, very informative video.
The repetition of the detailing on both the real full scale landmarks and their counterparts made of Legos adds to the appeal. It's no secret that the human brain is hardwired to like symmetrical things. I know that neither Notre Dame nor the Titanic is/was completely symmetrical, but they've got enough of that symmetry to satisfy the "itch".
Hehe i got Colosseum now :D they say repetitive; i dont care, i like it, makes it easier to build, but also i love symmetry and architecture, you need repetiveness then.
Thanks for you review very detailed, describing all the main techniques with the right names of the parts. I like the tan color for this set which the most appropriated. Which one do you prefer ? The techniques for the arches on the front face are amazing. On the real model the three "rosaces" are identical, two are simliar and the third one different. Being french i was devasted when there was the fire, i am very impatient to see it again for the reopening, for just some areas, in December. Thank you.
Imagine if Lego made minifigures from Disney's Hunchback of Notre Dame like Quasimodo, Esmarelda, Judge Claude Frollo, Captain Phoebus and the Talking Gargoyles. I would personally add them to this set if I bought it
This, the Eiffel tower, the Colosseum and the Statue of Liberty are all roughly 1:200. They would look great together! Any other Lego (landmark) sets in this scale?

Awesome, thank you!
